Reviews for Hotel Bonis

Review 1:Staff were gruff and the facilities a bit shabby.

Review 2:Excellent location very near the harbour of Vathy and city centre. Generous, abundant breakfast. Very reasonably priced.

Review 3:When it is wet on Samos it can be really wet.

Review 4:The hospitality of the of the owners and staff was outstanding. You become part of the family after a short time. The nearbye proximity to the restaurant, Taverna Gardens was a real plus.

Review 5:Welcome, care and laughter Lovely older couple filled with the warmth of the Greek people Rooms were simple, clean and comfortable Just what we we looking for, an authentic Greek experience We would stay at Hotel Bonis again

Review 6:The staff is a bunch of old people who don't speak much English, I did not mind this it added to the whole Greek Island experience.

Review 7:The location is great, the room they gave me was excellent (Terrace)

Review 8:Johnny and Maria were very friendly and helpful hosts. Although a language barrier existed we managed to communicate. Good hot water and air conditioning and plenty of food for breakfast.

Review 9:Family hotel Bonis is located in the centre of Samos town with easy walking distance to the bus station from where one can travel to various beaches and places of interest - Pythagorio, archeological sites, nice villages etc, hotel owners Maria and Janis make you feel like home, offering excellent breakfasts /fresh eggs, feta cheese, tomatoes etc./ view from the room balcony was fantastic - mountains with sea bay. Room was very well cleaned daily by maid Barbara. There are also local beaches in Samos town but better ones are easily reached by bus cheaply and quickly. Samos town offers in the hotel vicinity plenty of ships, restaurants as well as three museums.

Review 11:We arrived at 8 in the morning and asked if we could leave our bags but instead we were brought straight up to our room and allowed to use it from then on which was so kind and a relief after an overnight ferry Friendly couple who owned and run the hotel were also slightly eccentric which added to the experience View from the room was phenomenal and the room itself was lovely!

Review 12:The old woman who was generally interacting with us was so grouchy that it became quite funny. We speculated whether they were a couple. I said the husband of that woman could not possibly be so cheerful, unless he had just been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Review 13:The old gentleman who was in charge was wonderful. Great location just above the port.

Review 14:The shower was about 45cmx 45cm and the whole hotel was full of smoke.

Review 15:Mr Bonis and his Mum were lovely and very helpful. Loved the steps restaurant around the corner. Has character.

Review 16:Bonis hotel is centrally located and very easy to get to. If coming to Samos by ship turn right after coming out of the port and head towards the town, first street turn left and follow the signs. Approx 5 minute walk Hotel is located in a very quiet street.Rooms are equipped with TV, fridge, air conditioner, safe and small balcony. I had a beautiful view of the harbour. Lovely to wake up to each morning. Breakfast consists of eggs from the owners chickens, cheese slices, ham, bread, spreads, oprange juice and tea/coffee. The owners are an extremely friendly elderly couple who do their out most to please their guests. I hadn't heard from my kids for a few days and was worried about them. Mrs Bonis asked me for my home phone number in Australia and dialled my home so as I can check up on them. she refused to charge me for the call

Review 17:A well-run, very quiet family hotel with some rooms having excellent balconies overlooking the harbour. Good breakfast.

Review 18:We had bad experiences with the shower.

Review 19:The proximity to the main street and all the city attractions

Review 20:Quite a steep climb to the hotel but no real problem.

Review 21:Owner and staff were wonderful. Breakfast was presented with much care and generosity.

Review 22:The hotel wasn't clear enough. The room and the bathroom were too small for three people.

Review 23:Location. It was in the centre.

Review 24:Wifi was slow as

Review 25:Great hosts, nice place and very convenient

Review 26:Nothing

Review 29:It was a great location for our travel needs and the price was right! The owners were very friendly.

Review 30:Mrs Maria and Mr Giannis are literally the Greek mother and father of each guest staying in their hotel !!! Unique hospitality and kindness!!!

Review 31:good location, nice hotel and friendly staff

Review 32:The most endearing quality to Bonis are the owners, Kyria Maria and her husband. Crazy and likeable in equal measure :)

Review 33:Good location for the port. Owners were very kind and helpful

Review 34:New mattresses will result to top rating :)

Review 35:Pleasant owners, helpful and welcoming. Peaceful hotel, old but clean and cosy.

Review 36:Little English conversation, but still warm and welcoming owners, good location,

Review 37:Great quality WiFi. The service was exquisite. The people were so friendly and welcoming. I would return again.

Review 38:The hostess was excellent

Review 39:The owners are very nice even though they don't speak english very well. Breakfast was generous and tasty.

Review 40:- Managers' rudeness. - Plainly abrupt in any language (woman). - Hotel squalled. - Room was dated, smelt, dirty and disgusting. - Had to leave after one night. - Have stayed in better hostels 20 years ago as a scruffy backpacker. - we found many of your online reviews highly inaccurate except for one who was spot-on. - Local tourist agency and shopkeepers knew if this hotel's reputation.

Review 41:Nothing.

Review 42:The amount of noise on the first floor coming from the reception area, shouting,tv volume, general coming and going, made it an uncomfortable 3days,with poor sleeps.

Review 43:The wonderful friendliness of the very attentive owners and help. The rooms were kept clean on a daily basis. The breakfast was perfect and tasty. It was a wonderful hotel.

Review 44:We couldn't ask for anything better than Bonis Hotel. Everythingwas perfect, our room was very spacious, bright, confortable, clean andwith a breath-taken view from the sea, even from the little bathroomwindow. Mr. Bonis and Madame Maria are a very nice and friendly couple, always wanning to make sure that everything was ok. Mr Bonis alwaysbring fresh eggs from his chickens so we can eat at breakfast. We higlyreccomend Hotel Bonis and we're defenitely staying there when we goback to Samos.

Review 45:Shower head sprayed water in multiple directions, probably time for a replacement.

Review 46:The people there were very cheery and happy to help with any query about Samos. It was a 5-minute walk from Vathi port and 12 minutes from Vathi bus station so it was very convenient, but not on the main road so it was peaceful and not at all noisy. Great wifi. Overall it was fuss free and great value.

Review 47:They looked after me so well. I felt a part of the family for the short time I was there. I got the room at the top which was effectively a little apartment with a terrace and a wonderful view of the town, the harbour and the surrounding hills and mountains. Vathy (Samos town) is a laid-back, friendly place not plagued by herds of tourists and a good base to explore the island. I'll definitely be back there. Thanks for everything, Hotel Bonis!

Review 48:The staff was rude and extremely intrusive!! We arrived at the hotel around 7pm after taking the ferry from Kalymnos, we waited for about 10 minutes for someone to greet us at the desk. When an old lady showed up we received a very rude and cold welcome because she was mad that we got in "too late"... it was 7pm...! The next morning as we left early to go explore the island, we heard a voice screaming from the kitchen "Where are you going??", it was the old lady again... Apparently we were not allowed to leave the hotel without saying where we were going... Overall we had a very bad experience at this hotel and i would NOT recommend it!

Review 49:Central location and value for money.

Review 50:Desing is too bad)) Also staff is rude.

Review 51:Location is close to the port and center. Rooms are big and clean.

Review 52:Loved everything!

Review 53:Dissent and convenient hotel in a perfect location in the center oftown. Very honest and best value for money! Nice breakfast andfriendly staff.
