Reviews for Maison Bondaz

Review 1:Not a problem with the hotel at all, but the surrounding streets need dog owners to take responsibility and clean up after their animals.

Review 2:Gorgeous cosy room in a beautiful building in the historic centre of Aosta. We were warmly greeted with a cup of tea and home-baked biscuits and a detailed description of the region from the owner. Breakfast was phenomenal and freshly prepared in front of you: it even defeated my husband who was determined to taste as much of the good stuff as possible.

Review 3:Are you kidding......none!

Review 4:This is truly a little gem in the middle of the shopping district of Aosta. My girlfriend and I picked this place on a last minute whim and scheduled a 2 day stop on our trip. We loved this place and the Aosta Valley so much we added another day in a very tight schedule. This B&B is excellent in every category and the staff is more like family and oh by the way, they are a family. Be prepared for a breakfast to shock and awe you with flavors and beware of Laurette as she will feed you until you pop. Note, I recommend you park at the parking platz by the Roman Arch, it is only a 300M walk to the hotel.

Review 5:Too much noise outside, bed was not perfect. Some problems with internet connection and temperature regulation, English is not very useful there.

Review 6:Very helpful staff, great location, stylish building. And yes - marvellous breakfest.

Review 7:Owners so friendly and engaged in ensuring we had a great time Good recommendation for dinner Central to the city Breakfast will live in the annals of excellence for ever.

Review 8:Nothing!

Review 9:Wonderful family hosts and the B &B was a beautiful old family home with in the roman walls! Loved this place. Modern yet rustic. The breakfast was for a king! All local fare and amazing.

Review 10:It was perfect - no complaints

Review 11:Best breakfast we had on holiday out of 6 places - exceptional. The service was also above and beyond expectations, great advice on where to go and what to do in the area. The room was amazing, would definitely recommend this place and would like to go back and stay for longer!!

Review 12:Every thing was amazing here from the old building to the fantastic hospitality. Breakfast was on a whole new level with much of the fresh produce from their own farm. If you are in Aosta you need to stay here

Review 13:Fabulous location in pretty town; utterly charming and helpful owner Jeanette; lovely traditional house, sensitively and elegantly modernised; best breakfast!

Review 14:The WIFI worked but it could have been better!

Review 15:Everything about the room was 10/10 but this was surpassed by the breakfast I enjoyed. The quality of the food, the attention to detail and the obvious passion displayed by the owner/cook made this an unforgettable experience. Thoroughly recommended!

Review 16:The wifi was not stable but I would be surprised if the problem wasn't already resolved.

Review 17:The family made me feel so welcome like one of their own family. The room was well-furnished and nicely decorated. I hope to come again soon with my wife and family.

Review 18:The owners were very nice and friendly. The breakfast is the best one we have had for a very long time. They put in so much love in all details of the cooking and presentation of the food. The cakes were delicious :) Our room was excellent. We will return.

Review 19:Lovely room with great shower and comfortable huge bed, plus nice little treats like homemade meringues, fruit and herbal teas. Breakfast was a luxurious feast which we could not finish! Excellent service too.

Review 20:Parking is not close by, and if there is an event (eg a Christmas fair), then it's very hard to find and I ended up getting a ticket for missing a no-go sign (not one I'm used to in my country). But not even this could spoil my experience of the Maison Bondaz :)

Review 21:The friendliness and affability of the family members who are the staff; the cleanliness and high quality of rooms, finishing, and furniture; the location of the maison is in the midst of the main pedestrian thoroughfare, and the breakfast is home made and superb.

Review 22:Because this hotel is in the old city on a pedestrian street, you must park in nearby lots. But what I didn't like was leaving...we so truly enjoyed this Bella familia!

Review 23:The owners/staff are so friendly and helpful. This family has renovated this family residence from the 1700's in such a clever and beautiful way. Breakfasts were sooo good and the pastries at the end - superb!

Review 24:Great welcome, excellent local recommendations, parking nearby (Vinnay). Yes, the breakfast (and the apple juice from the mountains) is amazing. A nice surprise for what was just a stopover on a roadtrip.

Review 25:Early check out,no restaurant, should provide complimentary water.room needs a waste paper basket.

Review 26:Boutique hotel,friendly staff,free wifi,17C historic conversion with original stone wall & wooden floors.location in old city,flat screen tv/walk in shower/

Review 27:It is in the middle of the pedestrian zone in Aosta old town. If you are visiting the valleys it can be a little annoying to drive through town. If you are visiting Aosta is has the perfect location. You can drive to the Hotel to unload your luggage but the street is very narrow and full of shops, people and Cafés. Therefore I would not recommend this. We just walked from the parking lot which wasn't a great deal

Review 28:beautiful and cosy family run little B&B. Breakfast was amazing. Make sure you do not eat too much the evening before and you are really hungry. Rooms are very tastefully decorated with everything you need (e.g. water kettle). Outside the room is a minibar with very reasonable prices. The B&B is very quiet and the rooms arranged in a way your neighbours can't disturb you. If you sleep with the window open you could be woken up by somebody yelling outside (quite normal for Italy though)

Review 29:Not really an issue for us, the hotel cannot be reached by car and free parking rather a long walk with luggage (over cobblestones).

Review 30:Everything was perfect, especially five-star breakfast. Owners very friendly and helpful, nothing too much for them to make your stay enjoyable. The location in the centre of the old city. Fascinating restored old building with authentic materials. Highly recommended.

Review 31:I couldn't sort out the wife code is very long!

Review 32:Great location heart of the town. Lovely family run hotel staff couldn't do enough for you. Nice rooms clean modern comfortable.

Review 33:Great renovation of building, very delicate details that makes one happy. Very friendly owners. Comfortable beds. Very elegantly served breakfast at a cosy atmosphere. History and comfort - experience it!

Review 34:Limited reception hours and the parking was not convenient if walking is a concern.

Review 35:An excellent property, in a great location to tour Aosta and the surrounding Aosta Valley. The host and his mother were very helpful. The breakfast was the best!

Review 36:Warm and welcoming hosts in a unique b&b in a beautiful location

Review 37:Exceptional place, owner family treat you as a family member

Review 38:Well designed and modern. Very nice family run business with an amazing homemade breakfast.

Review 39:The friendliness, the comfort and the location. As reviewers have already said, the breakfasts are so fantastic, there will.be no room for lunch!

Review 40:Everything! Jeanette was a superb host. The lovely building, the room, the breakfast were all superb.

Review 41:very friendly great location superb breakfast

Review 42:Lovely accommodations, convenient location, friendly hosts and the most amazing breakfast ever.

Review 43:Breakfast of delicious home made and local products. Beautifully converted old house with all mod cons in bedrooms.

Review 44:Bothing

Review 45:Everything

Review 46:Beautifully redecorated - gorgeously stylish! Wonderful family running it - couldn't fault it.

Review 47:Everything. Quality bedlinen, comfortable bed and pillows. Outstanding breakfast.

Review 48:The breakfast was superb - I didn't want to leave and will certainly be booking this b&b again

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:Thoughtful touches Best breakfast in Italy Friendly staff Great location

Review 51:The breakfast was extraordinary Highly recommend it

Review 52:Location and quality renovations . Breakfasts were restaurant quality. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 53:We never had such excellent breakfast. A real gourmet. Very friendly polite with homely atmosphere.

Review 54:parking of car not that easy no staff on site

Review 55:great location in center of town very nice breakfast super room

Review 56:Excellent breakfast, very accommodating and friendly owners, great location. Highly recommend and if in the area again will return!

Review 57:Save your appetite for breakfast - it is ample and stunning!

Review 58:breakfast

Review 59:Fantastic breakfast worthy of a Michelin star. Location in the middle of everything. Helpful and friendly. We will come back.

Review 60:Nothing to write here!!

Review 61:Lovely room, good location, lovely staff, amazing breakfast! Nothing not to like. Will definitely go back again.

Review 62:Nothing.

Review 63:A small, flamily run operation which prides itself on giving a personal touch. I highly recommend it to any traveler who wants the opposite of an impersonal, large, assembly line experience. Plus there's nothing petit about the petit dejeuner. English, French, Italian, some Spanish spoken.

Review 64:A bit of confusion checking in. But understandable as it is a very small accommodation, and so not manned continually. I would try to arrange to pick up key earlier if possible next time.

Review 65:We loved everything about this place. The decor was very tasteful, and quite organic, obviously done with love. The strawberries growing on the balcony....the breakfast to die for.....We would recommend it to anyone, and hope to return.

Review 66:The location is great, in the old city. The room is clean and quiet. The brunch is amazing, you are served with a dozen of various specialties cooked in front of our table. Laurent and his father and his mother are great hosts.

Review 67:Everything!! It was exactly what we were looking for - central, charming, small, quiet, lovely breakfast, fabulous property renovated with passion and great taste, lovely small touches in bedrooms like satsumas, plate of meringues, another of amaretti biscuits, plus adorable enthusiastic owners. They had thought of everything to make our stay perfect. We shall definitely return. Highly recommended.

Review 68:Close to bus station, in centre of historic area. Lovely warm, clean room, very attentive staff. Best breakfast and little extras supplied, great to have kettle, homemade biscuits included, nothing overlooked.

Review 69:We had some early miscommunications about car access (the property is on a pedestrian road and the hotel doesn't explain that properly) as well as availability and location of parking. It all worked out in the end though.

Review 70:Very central location, lovely and comfortable room, good breakfast and nice young owners

Review 71:Location is excellent right in the middle of the old town, room was a good mix between old, renovated furniture and new modern design and breakfast was simply perfect. We've rarely experienced such an elaborated start into the day.

Review 72:An incredibly memorable breakfast. Great views of the mountains. Nice, clean rooms. A wonderfully kind, family staff. Overall, we had an excellent time and would recommend it to anyone.

Review 73:During St Ours Fair (end January) the location itself in the very center is a chance and a catastrophy at same time (then NO parking at less than 20 minutes walking..). It took too long to have someone answer at the street phone.

Review 74:Excellent mattress, Clean and Comfortable room with nice decoration, Great breakfast, Direct access to the main pedestrian street but rooms remain quiet, Very helpful Jeanette.

Review 75:A family away from home ... The family managing maison bondaz are exceptional, they take care of their guests as anyone would do for his/her relatives and friends. Rooms are clean, comfortable and stylish, and we woke up to a delicious breakfast freshly prepared by Jeanette and mum every morning. A great stay indeed!

Review 76:We only had the time to spend one night...

Review 77:Family managed, you feel like at home. Decorated with taste. Incredible home made breakfast (you have enough for the next 2 days).

Review 78:The family at Maison Bondaz is passionate about providing wonderful food and wonderful service and deserves the highest praise. We absolutely loved staying there.

Review 79:Not a dislike, but be aware you cannot reach the hotel with your car (orit is extreemly difficult requiring foreplanning and a really goodgps!). We parked a couple of blocks away and walked in. We had plannedto take only our backpacks and this works, its just that it is on one ofthose typically narrow europeon streets that dosen't allow vehiculartraffic, but has wondeful shops and retaurants.

Review 80:The hotel and staff were excellent and it was the best breakfast we hadon our trip, made right before your seat. Room was immaculate and verywell designed and functional. Well worth the stop!

Review 81:Steps to the rooms were a little difficult to manoeuvre. The property is on a pedestrian road, so car parking took some time as it's a few meters away from the property, but the owners helped by carrying all luggage.

Review 82:Easy access to all the roman monuments, shops, cafes and restaurants. Very hospitable and welcoming owners, so helpful with luggage and car parking. Interesting, tasteful and well renovated old property typical of the region. Very comfortable bed and cosy bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The dining room was like being in their own home and the breakfast was superb, cooked individually to your own taste and dietary needs, using excellent local produce from their own farm, the best we had on our whole tour of France, Italy and Switzerland .

Review 83:The hotel doesn't have an elevator. The hotel can't be reached by car. Add the two factors and you see yourself pulling bags for 200 meters and then carrying them two stories up.

Review 84:The staff is very friendly. Nice breakfast. The room is cozy.

Review 85:Access by car is difficult however there is free parking nearby.

Review 86:The building has been beautifully restored and has numerous interesting and quirky features. The room was bright and clean with an excellent bathroom: it was all very stylish. The owners are so thoughtful. We came home in the evening to find a bottle of chilled water in our room and a bowl of grapes. The breakfast in the morning was amazing: we were offered 3 homemade cakes as well as many other options. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Review 87:Parking is a little inconvienient.

Review 88:The rustic and historic feel to the place. Very old and charming but renovited with a modern feel. Close to the centre and the old roman city walls. The breakfast is superb.

Review 89:There was nothing I did not like. I can not say anything negative.

Review 90:Some of the friendliest owners I have ever met. They went well out of their way to make us feel very comfortable and happy. By far one of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed at and I travel a lot. These folks genuinely care like you are family.

Review 91:A bit of a hidden treasure this one. A tastefully renovated old building hidden in the heart of old Aosta. The breakfast was a real feast and served by the very welcoming and attentive owners. Access by car is tricky, but that's part of it's charm too. Highly recommendable.

Review 92:Somewhat difficult to find.

Review 93:Food was outstanding. The hotel is run by a local family who are gracious, friendly and very helpful. One of the best hotel experiences of my life.

Review 94:Like many other before us already confirmed: the breakfast alone is a reason to stay at Maison Bondaz. But next to that a great location in the centre of Aosta, very friendly and helpful owners (no external staff) and very comfy rooms and bathroom.

Review 95:Central location in a beautiful part of old Aosta. Tastefully designedrooms and amenities. One of the best breakfeasts in Italy, freshlyprepared by Jeanette, the passionate cook and owner.

Review 96:Difficult access to unload car down a pedestrianized street, then having to park at some distance; bathroom has a cobbled floor (for which special slippers are provided, but it is still uncomfortable); air conditioning was mentioned on the booking form but did not seem to be present.

Review 97:Pleasant modern room and ensuite, absolutely superb breakfast, good setting in old town.

Review 98:Everything!!! Fantastic renovation of old building. Rooms brilliant with attention to every detail. Owners very friendly and the breakfast is the best we have had in Italy!! Well recommended!

Review 99:Cannot be reached by car. 5 min walk to free public parking place near sport area. Room was warm (airco should be available though)

Review 100:Beautifully restored house in shopping street in the center of the old city. Welcoming family that runs 6 rooms. Fantastic breakfast with a lot of products from own farm. Taste the cherries on liquor. Private dining in gorgeous wine cellar (on request). Osteria Nando (Michelin recommended) serves great (local) dishes for reasonable prices.

Review 101:Very nice and greatly restored place in the centre of Aosta. Staff was very friendly, the room a bit small but immaculate, and breakfast was prepared at the spot with ingredients from the family farm. We could only stay for one night, but should we pass by Aosta again, this is where we want to stay again!

Review 102:I think it should be made clearer that it is on a street with restricted access and the sign could be a little bigger. We found the street but did not spot the sign. Not a big problem but it would make it easier to find, as we thought we were on the wrong street

Review 103:Aosta proved to be an attractive town. Our room was excellent and we had a fantastic meal in a nearby restaurant - Da Nando.

Review 104:Not the easiest to find as there is no signage. Owners do not live on premises so there is no permanent reception. Bedroom lighting was dim. Soundproofing could be improved

Review 105:Friendly. Clean. Excellent bathroom. Good breakfast served with style. Nice view of Alps from balcony although foreground view not great

Review 106:nothing!!

Review 107:the hotel is located right at the center of the old city of Aosta, short drive from the motorway, surrounded by excellent restaurants and nice shops. The building is an old one which was renovated and the rooms are very nice, big and very comfortable. The family who run the hotel are extremely nice and helpful and breakfast is the best we have ever had.

Review 108:Nothing to complain about. For older guests it might be useful to know that there is no lift, so they might want to book rooms on the lower floors. But for us that didn’t cause any problem.

Review 109:The best city hotel I’ve stayed ever! Romantic atmosphere, outstanding hospitality, charming room, superb bathroom, and lovely details everywhere… It’s like sleeping in the princess’ castle. I wish my home was like that! :) Note also great location that is central but quiet, and all the modern conveniences such as air conditioning, effective soundproofing, good shower, nice nature-inspired toiletries. And the breakfast was really delicious. I wish the owners all the best! We will definitely stay here again.

Review 110:Lack of parking facility at the hotel, but it goes with the location ofthe place, in the historic part.. And, the owners pointed out 2 freeparkings which are 2streets away, so no big deal!

Review 111:Exceptional location, great decor and excellent care from the owners!Home made breakfast and personalised care made the trip perfect!! Veryhighly recommended

Review 112:Little hard to find as it is in a pedestrian walk way,but you can drive up to their door and unload. Free parking is off site, but very near, so not really a problem.

Review 113:Rooms tastefully done, beds very comfy. Quiet. Unique hotel of new and old. Family run business who are delightful. Jeanette speaks a little English which worked with our little French. Her mother delightful too. Just what we were looking for, treated like you are family.
