Reviews for Le Charaban

Review 1:N/A

Review 2:The staff make this place fantastic. This was my second stay, just passing through again and I'll be back for sure. Went with my brother and his family the first time. The staff were great with the children. This time I was on my own and they really looked after me and made me feel welcome again.

Review 3:Lovely boutique Hotel with excellent views of snow capped mountains. Within easy reach of the beautiful old part of Aosta with Roman ruins and many other attractions.

Review 4:Was a perfect stopping over point on our way from Besancon to Piedmont. Hotel was very accommodating .Restaurant was full of ambience and the meal was good.

Review 5:Staff friendly and helpful, offering a choice of local eateries. Room clean , and had tea making facility! Food good , wine list good . Had a warm welcoming feeling to the place.

Review 6:Nothing to dislike.

Review 7:Brilliantly room, no wasted space but everything worked perfectly. Superb facilities, I cannot think why this is not a 4star hotel. V. good restaurant with short but excellent menu and wine list. V. nice location with views all around. V. friendly staff. A real pleasure to stay there.

Review 8:The Google map was not very accurate and gave the impression that passing down the Autostrada from the col we would just find it on our right. Not so!

Review 9:Not being able to stay longer. Aosta is a place we'd like to return to, and we'd definitely pick Le Charaban again.

Review 10:Friendly, helpful staff who loved our 7-month old. Delicious dinner at their restaurant. It was so nice not to have to leave after the stress of finding the place. It was also nice to stay in an "almost" neighborhood setting.

Review 11:We could only stay one night

Review 12:We didn't know what to expect when we booked this hotel, but from the moment we checked in to the time we checked out, we found the owners and staff extremely courteous and helpful. After travelling all day we decided to eat at the hotel and we enjoyed a spectacular dinner. Our room was a corner room on the 3rd floor, very tastefully decorated and with great views of the mountains and vineyards. The bed was king size and the bathroom large and very modern.

Review 13:The matresses are too firm. Also weak stream in the shower.

Review 14:Friendly helpful staff and excelent restaurant! One of the best dinner in the Aosta area. Great value for money

Review 15:We had two rooms, one at the front and one at the side (despite requesting rooms at the rear) both had a lot of road noise, mainly motor bikes of which there are a lot in summer. The one at the front had air conditioning that blew cold air on you all night and the one at the side was over the kitchen with all the cooking smells although that stopped when the kitchen closed.

Review 16:Comfortable beds with good bedding and sparkling clean bathrooms, with all the little extras you would expect in a 4.5 star hotel. The staff were without exception very friendly and helpful. We had two excellent meals in the restaurant.

Review 17:I was indifferent about the bed on offer, firstly had a very hard mattress which affects my back then tried the foam mattress and that was equally an odd experience. There is NO A/C on the ground floor.

Review 18:The coffee in the morning was wonderful, the picturesque views out of the room. The staff did help replacing my hard bed with a foam mattress.

Review 19:We only stayed for one night as a stopover. We were upgraded to a large suit. Each room for very spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. Dinner was wonderful. Staff were very welcoming.

Review 20:We arrived at the hotel around 10 pm and the restaurant was already closed but the staff prepared for us an amazing cold meal with prosciutto, melon, cheese and a bottle of wine, and arranged everything so nicely as if it was a very fancy meal. The internet connection in the room wasn't perfect but it was better in the reception area. Breakfast was included in the room price and was very tasty. The staff was very friendly!

Review 21:friendly welcome and the food wss excellent, especially the garlic pasta! breakfast wss amazing with home cooked pastries as well as a wide range of other continental breakfast fare. The limoncella I had at the end of the dinner was the bet I hve ever tasted.

Review 22:Dinner was very good, location was good for what we wanted. Staff were very attentive and the liqueurs offered after the meal were excellent. We used the hotel for an overnight on the way home, but would be happy to stay again. Set in the foot hills of Mount Blanc, great views

Review 23:Difficult to find as it is one kilometre beyond the location given by Navsat. A roundabout under construction also blocks clear view of entry. A car is needed to visit the town.

Review 24:Friendly staff, good facilities, great restaurant with authentic Italian food and excellent service. Despite roadworks, we loved this hotel.

Review 25:Not within walking distance of Aosta town centre, so you'll need to drive.

Review 26:Great location, very convenient for Grd St Bernard Tunnel route, and close to the town centre of Aosta. Good breakfast Excellent restaurant

Review 27:Location is superb about 2km from Aosta and surrounded by mountains. Room had a balcony and amazing views. Evening meal in restaurant was excellent and the free liqueurs were even better!

Review 28:A good overnight stay, very clean and comfortable room with spectacular views from bedroom.restaurant had good choice and reasonably priced and friendly staff.

Review 29:hard to find. Dont understand italian street numbers. #38 is not between 37 and 39 or across the street. Had to finallly call

Review 30:great room with mountain view, parking, excellent food, restaurant great pricing...breakfast included. quiet neighborhood

Review 31:No negative points!

Review 32:We booked at short notice and were very well received. The room was perfect with a very nice mountain view. The restaurant serves delicious local specialties. I had the best taleggio radicchio risotto ever. The friendliness of the hotel staff deserves a +++!

Review 33:Nothing to complain about. We would definitely stay here again, and enjoy a meal in the restaurant again.

Review 34:A well kept and presented hotel with excellent views and a really good restaurant. There was nothing to fault.

Review 35:- you need a car to visit the town (just a minor problem...)

Review 36:- friendly owner / staff - spacious and clean room - nice restaurant - very good breakfast

Review 37:Apparently none of the rooms have a bath. The wifi is free, but very feeble.

Review 38:The staff, very friendly and always looking for ways to add to your comfort. The location, quiet but close to motorway for stopover travellers. The food was interesting, well cooked and copious.

Review 39:Excellent stopover on way to Liguria. Very friendly and helpful staff. Buffet breakfast was very good offering soya and rice milk. Wonderful location and Aosta well worth exploring.

Review 40:It was great as an overnight stop but I have to say that it is situated way outside of town on quite a busy road. My wife and I like to have a glass of wine with dinner and due to the distance from town if we needed to stay longer we would be restricted to the Charabans restaurant which although very good might restrict. Not a criticism of the Charaban but should be borne in mind if wanting a longer stay.

Review 41:Very nice hotel with very pleasant clean comfortable room with nice touches like slippers and proper glasses provided. Good air conditioning and balcony. Restaurant and meal very much enjoyed, when I asked for grappa a whole selection of ice cold varieties was brought with a shot glass and no charge for this on the bill. Breakfast was a good buffet. Great views of the surrounding mountains and plenty of free parking.

Review 42:Nothing

Review 43:The hotel staffs were always ready to help with anything. There is free parking in the hotel is great. Cannot raved enough about the quality of food served in the restaurant in the hotel. It was the best meal we had throughout our trip and we ate there on our 2 nights stay there!

Review 44:The welcome, the staff, the food, the location, the views, the massage. Only intended as a stopover but it was a lovely two days and we can't wait to go back for a longer visit.

Review 45:No minibar in the room.

Review 46:Good location (for car travelers), with nice views on the surrounding mountains. Large rooms. Free parking. Excellent breakfast.

Review 47:wifi reception a bit patchy in the room, but that's not unusual.

Review 48:nice welcome at reception. good family room. large comfy cot for the little one. comfy beds for everyone else. decent curtains (sounds odd, but it needs to be dark for the little one to go to sleep). great breakfast.

Review 49:Firstly I should say that I generally dislike hotels, but from the moment we arrived and were warmly greeted without needing to introduce ourselves (I guess they were expecting two kids and a harassed dad) we were made to feel welcome. An upgrade to familly room, great advice about exploring Aosta, clean, spacious, great tv, great staff, plus courteous service during dinner and breakfast. The latter, particularly, the kids still talk about. A really lovely stay.

Review 50:We loved everything about Le Charaban, the staff are really friendly and as helpful as they can possible be. The food is excellent. the room was really clean and well maintained. The views from our balcony were of the mountains it was just fabulous. Thank you to all the staff at Le Charaban for a great week !!!!!
