Reviews for Moore Park Inn

Review 1:It was the second time we have spent a night here and we would come again. Very clean, great staff and really comfortable beds. Perfect after a long day driving.

Review 2:We loved staying in one of the rooms in the old homestead - room 29. We also loved how friendly and helpful the staff were and we have never been offered delicious home-baked brownies for the whole family at check-in before!

Review 3:The motel was clean and room was well presented with a fantastic king sized bed. We stayed for our wedding anniversary and were treated very well. The restaurant was beautiful, the food fantastic and staff wonderfully pleasant. We will definitely be back.

Review 4:We had an expectation, gained from the web site, of receiving a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. This did not happen!

Review 5:The refurbished room was very comfortable and large. The location was leafy, quiet and serene and the food and service both excellent.

Review 6:Just an overnight stop so didn't access any facilities other than the room. Comfy bed, large room. Nice place. Wanted to try the restaurant but unfortunately it's closed Sunday's. Nice touch with brownies handed out on checkin.

Review 7:Staff extremely friendly and helpful, room comfortable, restaurant great. I would recommend Moore Park Inn to anyone travelling to or through Armidale.

Review 8:Heard great things about the restaurant,it's closed on sun night.we will just have to come back

Review 9:Close to airport for very early flight. Great King suite, every thing good

Review 10:Stylish motels run by stylish people are very rare outside big cities. This is such a place, located in a beautiful setting amongst towering trees, overhanging vines and landscaped grounds. The restaurant is well above motel standard serving a contemporary bistro menu and a great wine list. Highly recommended by a fussy couple who've travel alot in Europe where this place would fit in very nicely.

Review 11:The shower rose needed adjustment for fine spray.

Review 12:We arrived early, but the owner was most pleasant and invited us to wait under the shade of a wisteria vine whilst having a glass of wine and reading the newspaper. The restaurant was superb. The steak was amongst the best we have eaten. The room and bed was comfortable and complete. The property is on 5 acres and it was wonderful to wake up looking out on the countryside covered in trees.

Review 13:Availability of a later check in was valuable as i was travelling in from Moree after a day of work Great Restaurant with quite reasonable pricing of food and beverages. The steamed veg were awesome - crisp and fresh The grounds were lovely The room provided ample space, lighting and facility to do some work

Review 14:The room was clean but day two, the cleaner only made the bed and little else, didn't vacuum etc.

Review 15:Staff were very pleasant and the restaurant very good. Room spacious and lovely outlook.

Review 16:On arrival we were offered a freshly cooked brownie. Terrific!! We were also encouraged to eat in house but when we declined the staff happily discussed alternatives.

Review 17:Great place to stay. We stayed a night driving from Brisbane to Sydney, it was perfect. Very clean, lovely staff and a nice friendly welcome from the dog. The restaurant was great too. Lovely food. Would definitely stay again.

Review 18:The rubbish bin in the bathroom had not been emptied. It was full of personal refuse from previous guests. We were quite appalled. I mentioned this to the receptionist when checking out and she brushed me off. Not happy! I thought she may have at least apologised.

Review 19:Ambience of room and view was delightful.

Review 20:The airport is close and you can hear the planes flying over. Could also hear the TV from another room very clearly at night.

Review 21:Nice rural area, very clean, great staff and a bit of history with it

Review 22:Office shut at 6pm on Sunday night. We arrived at 6.05pm and was hustled to register. Told Restaurant was shut but we good get room service. Tried phoning for room service on at least 4 times but no answer. No one was on duty. Had to go down town to have a snack when we wanted a substantial meal having just driven 500 kms from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Very poor and most disappointing service

Review 23:While they didn't provide a dining service on Sunday evening there were plenty of options near by.

Review 24:Room were well presented, clean, spacious and the location was good being not far from the highway but far enough to not be affected by the road noise

Review 25:Can't think of anything.

Review 26:Moore Park was beautiful and quiet. Our room was well designed and spacious. The dinner was excellent. We would recommend the place to friends.

Review 27:Nothing really. Could hear some noise from the nearby airport in the morning but it was no big deal.

Review 28:Lovely ambiance. Excellent evening dinging experience in the restaurant

Review 29:The heating in the room was not adequate for us to be comfortable just sitting in the room

Review 30:The bed was great. The restaurant was lovely and staff were friendly

Review 31:It could have been cleaner. Finer attention to detail. Found a few hairs on arrival and crusty toothpaste on the tap.

Review 32:Worth staying at Moore Park Inn. Quiet. Secluded. Bed was luxury. Towels soft. Beautiful surrounds and could see city lights.

Review 33:Heating the Breakfast room would give more enjoyable experience. Door snakes needed to cut incoming draft in cold weather.

Review 34:Nice historic property and friendly staff. Enjoyed good food and cozy atmosphere dining around the round fireplace.

Review 35:We feel the motel is overpriced without breakfast.

Review 36:Location is good, rooms are average for the price, and breakfast should be included. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the restaurant quite good.

Review 37:We thought the air conditioner would have been better positioned over the television rather than so close to the bed rather stifling. The bed was too firm!! Overhead heating in the bathroom would be a plus.

Review 38:We enjoyed the bigger room i.e. suite & the outlook...very comfortable. A lovely dinner & wine at Archie's restaurant.

Review 39:Can be noisy when planes land at the airport

Review 40:A quiet location just out of town with delightful views over the fields. Friendly and helpful staff, warm and cosy rooms with all facilities. Good shower pressure and comfortable beds and pillows.

Review 41:Not being able to have dinner in the restaurant as we had our dog with us and we were advised our only option was dinner in the room. The room was functional and clean but not somewhere we wanted to eat an expensive meal.

Review 42:Not much to dislike, may be needs a few pictures/ paintings in the room.

Review 43:The staff are excellent and very friendly as you would expect in a country town. You have to eat at their restaurant it was the best steak out

Review 44:The friendliness from the receptionist on our arrival which continued on through to the restaurant later in the evening. The food was superb - certainly not your average motel food. And the chocolate brownies on our arrival was a lovely touch too. Our motel room was immaculate in every way and so comfortable. Cannot fault in any way.

Review 45:Dining area was a pleasant surprise for evening meal. Nicely appointed, lovely circular fire in the centre of dining area and fillet steak just melts in the mouth, yum!

Review 46:Hard bed. Didn't sleep for 2 nights. No facilities within walking distance. As we had driven 7 hours didn't feel like driving in the rain on a poorly lit road so had dinner in overpriced Archie's restaurant. Meal was acceptable but poor value for money.

Review 47:Nice view from pati

Review 48:Staff/Owners here are incredibly friendly & helpful, even their dog looks after you! :) Beatiful place stay in a beautiful location, we'd stay here again anytime.

Review 49:Rural views, comfortable and clean room, but still close to the city. We used the local taxi service when going partying! Friendly staff. Breakfast was quality!

Review 50:Restaurant ambience was good as was the service , sadly th food was not that great . We came for breakfast at 8:45am to find that breakfast ceased at 8:30am......never seen that before in a hotel !

Review 51:Fantastic location on outskirts of Armidale with rural views from our room and patio. Great restaurant for dinner with excellent menu and ambiance, great breakfast. Couldn't fault Moore Park Inn and would highly recommend it to travellers or visitors.

Review 52:Overall, we really enjoyed our time here. If I had one criticism it would be that the hot breakfast menu was limited and the time allowed for breakfast, 7am to 8:30am, isn't very long.

Review 53:We arrived after midnight and the staff were friendly and accommodating - prepared the room for our arrival (including fresh milk), and left the room unlocked for us. Also, there was an excellent shower in our bath room - Steaming hot water and great water pressure.

Review 54:Nothing at all.

Review 55:Excellent owners and staff !!! So welcoming and made us feel as if we were in their home...Thanks Natalie. Have already recommended property to others.

Review 56:I liked the environment and the openness of the place. The staff were most welcoming and helpful. The motel is situated on average on the outskirts of Armidale so you can sit outside your room and look over the fields and enjoy the serenity and views. Beautiful restaurant and old estate home to wonder through. I shall return and my dogs can have a sleep over next time so I'll definitely be back!!! Thank you.

Review 57:There was nothing we did not like

Review 58:The surroundings were perfect. Quiet location and every amenity expected in a property of this standard. The owners and all staff were a pleasure to deal with and contributed to the overall enjoyment of our stay.

Review 59:Set on acreage, our room looked out onto paddocks with horses while birds we don't get at home flitted through the trees nearby. Good breakfast, and a lovely dog to greet you and let you throw sticks for it to chase.

Review 60:The coffee was very poor. Plunger coffee at best is still too weak, but the sachets were very weak. Whilst TV was good being mounted on the wall, the sound was not so good unless the volume was on high. This probably was related to the size of screen and the distance from the bed. Not a major issue.

Review 61:Rural, quiet location and dog friendly. Ease of access and spacious. No trinkets, meaningless pictures, vases etc. Great shower

Review 62:We liked everything about the place. The room was clean and well equipped, the grounds are gorgeous, breakfast was good and everyone really friendly. Loved Harley the dog, who is very serious about his role of checking that everything is ship shape!

Review 63:The motel is located out of town, so if you wanted to have dinner elsewhere you have to drive or catch a taxi.

Review 64:The in-house restaurant is extremely good. The rooms are large and very comfortable.

Review 65:After booking in for a week and letting the management know why we had selected Moore Park for its country outlooks, we were given a room looking directly into the restaurant. When a change was requested it all seemed too much trouble for management.

Review 66:Clean rooms in a country location with good memories.

Review 67:Nothing in particular

Review 68:Loved the peace and quiet and the park-like setting. And what a nice touch to be offered some brownies on arrival. Meal in restaurant was first-class, which had a great ambience

Review 69:A small miscommunication about being able to access our room. We were left standing around the car park as we weren't sure if the cleaning had been finished. All fine once we asked if we could go in to the room but it would have been nice to be told

Review 70:Location, quiet, clean, friendly. Lovely aspect and really good chocolate brownies on checkout. Thankyou!

Review 71:Insects in bathroom crawling up the plug hole had to be killed and sink plug had to be held down manually as its spring was so strong; but these are trivial faults relative to the high overal quality of the stay.

Review 72:Attentiveness of proprietors and staff, trouble free wifi, top quality menus served well and quite quickly, views of the horses and thorough daily cleaning.

Review 73:A minor thing only...I'm tall enough to see over the window ledge in the shower, some may not be...it was full of flies/pubes...kinda gross. But again if you're a 5'5 cleaning lady you just won't see it.

Review 74:Just out of town, beautiful Farm location! Didn't spend much time in the room but was fresh. Felt like we were staying at a family members house!

Review 75:Nothing.

Review 76:One of my favourite motels...have stayed many times over a long time. Nothing disappoints.....very clean & comfortable quite spacious . Very friendly owners,.... Good quality restaurant & attentive staff. Quiet location in a lovely setting.

Review 77:I didn't like arriving at our destination after a long drive to find that our room was not made up. I didn't like being given a smaller room in exchange. I didn't like the fact that no one paid me the courtesy of returning my two phone calls earlier in the day, enquiring if the restaurant was to be open that evening. Unfortunately, the special deal you promised didn't eventuate.

Review 78:Difficult to find due to issues around street names. Our GPS could not find it but the local postman was really helpful

Review 79:The facilities, grounds, restaurant and staff were exceptional. It is an amazing place for a restful stay

Review 80:No plates or implements for having a simple cheese and biscuit with a drink on arrival. They did at least have wine glasses.

Review 81:Peaceful setting . Perfect after a long day's drive .

Review 82:Bar fridge is poorly ventilated and the unit runs all the time. That's unnecessary, makes noise (low) and wastes electricity and increases the businesses running costs.

Review 83:Its quiet and you get a good night's sleep. The staff are pleasant and professional.

Review 84:The environment was perfect for a night or even more. Very relaxing and peaceful with beautiful wildlife and friendly dogs that would bring a smile to your face. I really enjoyed my stay here

Review 85:The aircon was very ineffective when started. However, after few hours it was alright. Not a big issue when everything else was perfect.

Review 86:We loved the easy checkin and yummy brownies on arrival! The room was excellent- very modern with picturesque view. I would definitely live here again.

Review 87:The grouting in the shower could have done wih a clean

Review 88:Everything. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic. The landscape was very countrified - relaxing and peaceful particularly for someone working in a high rise in the city. The rooms were a good size and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Review 89:What a wonderful stay, even being in Armidale for business meant staying at Moore park I found peace and tranquility. Great walks, bird life and staff that just couldn't do enough for me. Thank you for sharing such a lovely place.

Review 90:Nothing

Review 91:Great service from friendly staff We were given a welcome brownie on arrival, and complimentary milk. Location was good, on the outskirts of town, nice and quiet. Restaurant fantastic.

Review 92:Very relaxing after a long trip. Enjoyed a walk in the lovely parklands surrounding the Motel. It was great to have a small kitchen in the room and appreciated room service on Sunday night

Review 93:Despite no indication on their website (except for Amex), this property charges a credit card fee on all credit cards. When I pointed this out, I was harangued. Won't be going back.

Review 94:Very large room which was spotlessly clean and newly renovated. Fabulous restaurant. Easy, level ground. Beautiful gardens and peaceful rural outlook. Friendly hosts and waitstaff. Excellent service.

Review 95:The music in the restaurant was irritating. Fine dining deserves fine music. It was a little too 80's/90's for our liking. The same at breakfast. Ambience was spoilt by poor music choices.

Review 96:Accommodation was really lovely and relaxing. Beautiful gardens and buildings. Great location, just out of town.

Review 97:Whilst the meal was good quality and tasty it wasn't good value for money. Meal needed to be served with vegetables to be healthy and adequate.

Review 98:A lovely country feel with warm hospitality. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed.

Review 99:Noise from the nearby airport .. didn't bother us but could be a shock to someone who doesn't like 'traffic' noise. Small planes taking off & landing right overhead

Review 100:Lovely country vista. Very friendly & accommodating staff. Convenient if you want to by-pass Armidale itself, and quite convenient to UNE which is signposted from the highway turn-off nearby

Review 101:The owners & staff were welcoming, friendly & helpful. The restaurant, though expensive, was worth every penny for mouth watering food & excellent service. Our room was bright, clean, well appointed & comfortable, and the outlook was really lovely. Such a shame we could only stay the one night. On a 9 day trip it was by far our most enjoyable accommodation & restaurant.

Review 102:The staff were friendly and their pet dog was delightful. The brownies for afternoon tea on arrival was a nice touch. The view from the room was peaceful.

Review 103:We did not like the smelly pet bin outside our room. If we had known that pets were allowed, we would not have stayed there. There was no mention on the Booking.com web site.

Review 104:great restaurant, attentive staff

Review 105:This is a lovely property set in beautiful grounds just south of Armidale, so well located for exploring nearby Uralla. The rooms are pleasant and well maintained and most look out to garden or courtyard environs. The restaurant serves a good range of dinner options and there's a very comprehensive, affordable buffet for breakfast. Management and staff do a good job of making guests feel welcome. You might choose not to pay with a Platinum card though because they have a quaint idea of charging an extra fee for those cards because we "get the benefits of the FF points". Who cares about an extra $5 though after a lovely weekend away. :-)

Review 106:Location out of town. Noise from airport. Stayed for three nights, given a disabled room when plenty of normal rooms were free. Bathroom was wet due to disabled configuration. Toiletries not replaced. Had to ask for toilet paper after one night.

Review 107:Room was clean. Bed comfortable.

Review 108:Only a couple of channels on the telly to choose from.

Review 109:Loved the grounds and the size of the room. Really loved the little gesture that greeted us upon checking in with a chocolate brownie given to each of us.

Review 110:I don't travel to Armidale often but I absolutely love staying here. The rooms are huge, the shower is amazing and this time I ate at the restaurant which was superb. Staff are friendly an the setting is beautiful.

Review 111:From our entry to Moore Park it was a lovely experience, very helpful staff. Motel is on the outskirt of Armidale surrounded by lovely countryside, a ten minute drive into town. Would certainly recommend this property to anyone who would enjoy a stay at a delightful motel.

Review 112:Close to airport with low flying planes but didn't happen very often and not a problem to us but don't let that put you off.

Review 113:Quiet location with country views. Very warm and comfortable, spotlessly clean. Lovely restaurant adjacent. 5 minute easy drive into centre of town and easy and quick access to highway. Will stay again when in the area.

Review 114:Cleaners forgot to replenish supplies when cleaning.

Review 115:We liked everything about Moore Park Inn and when staying in Armidale we will only stay there. Ian, Natalie and Suzie could not do enough for you and nothing was a problem. A BIG thank you to the chef, meals to die for and plenty on the plate. Great that local wine is available as well

Review 116:The fact that we had time for only one night's stay!! It would have been nice too if the restaurant had been open for dinner, but because we stayed on a Sunday...

Review 117:The high ceilings in the room. The spa bath, the peaceful and serene atmosphere, and countryside feel (plus watching the Rabbitohs win the Grand Finals) all added up to a very pleasant night.

Review 118:As with other chalets I have stayed you can here the neighbours... Some airplane noise

Review 119:Beautiful rural view with table and chairs to enjoy it. Appears refurbished to high standard.
