Reviews for Russagh Mill Hostel & Adventures

Review 1:There was nothing I did not like at all.

Review 2:Everything. The staff the guests were all brilliant! We treated each other like family I've never experienced before. Will go there again definitely!

Review 3:Damp smell in the rooms

Review 4:Great value, we stayed for an adventure race that was on just across the road. Room was a nice size, quiet location. Kitchen was handy to make breakfast the morning of the race. Would stay again.

Review 5:Although i acknowledge the hostel is old and has been upgraded I found the walls to be very thin between rooms. The idiot in the next room kept going in and out of their room none stop and slamming every door available.

Review 6:Location was good. Hostel was clean good sized kitchen and good shower pressure.

Review 7:Second night unfortunately a group stayed & failed to recognise that they were not the only guests in this hostel. Chatted & played music in their dorm / room until 4.30am - until one of the other guests knocked on their dorm - still continued. Owner needs to put up clear & unambiguous signs - no noise after certain hour. Walls between the dorms paper thin - nevertheless guests should understand hostel conditions.

Review 8:Location, rustic building, wonderful guests on first night, interesting conversation with fellow guests & owner, nice relaxed atmosphere.

Review 9:Place was great. Plenty of space to park and excellent kitchen facilities to self cater. Table tennis was fun and great wifi in common areas. Paul was an absolute legend and organised a guided night kayak on Lough Hyne at a moments notice at half the price of other kayak tours. Fiona was lovely and gave us a run down on some great local places to see.

Review 10:The rooms felt a bit closed in and Wi Fi didn't work in rooms.

Review 11:The staff were absolutly lovely and helpful. The building had a lot of character, with use of a big kitchen. Cool vinyl collection!

Review 12:Felt like home. Staff was amazing and went out of their way to be helpful. We were completely jet lagged and we slept until 2 pm, no problems. The manager even lent me his phone to make local calls so I could book rooms in other towns. Extremely accommodating!

Review 13:No bad experience it was all good.

Review 14:Our family, 2 adults and 3 young kids stayed in Russagh Mill Hostel & Adventures in mid August, we found it hard to find accommodation at short notice and we took a chance on staying in a hostel as we have a 6, 4 and 1 year old we were wary of how kids would take to a hostel. We had nothing to worry about, we got a family room with double bed and 2 sets of bunk beds, the kids absolutely loved everything from bunk beds, to cool music on vinyl record player, cat and dog, sharing food with other guests at large communal eating area and the friendly and very helpful staff Paul, Chris, Melissa, we will definitely will be back. Hostel is ideal for guests on their own, couples and families as it caters for all.

Review 15:Nothing!!!

Review 16:From the moment we arrived, we were made feel very welcome. The children were interacted with by all staff and they absolutely loved it. They had plenty to do in and around the hostel. Absolutely loved everything about the place and the staff. Can't wait to go back! The rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms upstairs were very convenient and clean. It's definitely worth a visit you.

Review 17:Atmosphere is not for living conditions

Review 20:Very relaxed atmosphere, staff very helpful. Great opportunities for archery with an expert tutor, kayaking and night kayaking. Great vinyl collection, very cool for chilling in the evening over a beer or a glass of wine.

Review 21:Unsafe footpath to the town (by the main road there is no footpath for around 200 meters). There is another way but this is not suitable for buggies - off-road

Review 22:Very nice staff.

Review 23:when we pulled in we new we had booked the wrong place.weeds all over back yard. overall appearance very poor compared to website. river appeared to have sewage from house flowing into it as it smelled really bad. The rooms were poor and left us scratching . very poor.

Review 24:free wifi

Review 25:Nothing bad to report!

Review 26:When we arrived we were greeted in the drive by the owner, Paul. We got a lovely tour to show us around and we were really encouraged to use all the facilities. The building itself is a maze of halls and stairs and has real charm and character to it. There seems tobe loads of activities available to do onsite, great place for kids if you have any, kitchen is well equipped and both living area's are very comfortable. We really got a great vibe from this hostel and felt so comfortable settling in, great atmosphere on a Saturday night with lights out on the terrace, a bbq and plenty of people to chat to. would recommend to anyone who doesnt require luxury but enjoys a good atmosphere and a home away from home, Thanks guys!
