Review 3:This guest is just a three minute walk from cliften. Lovely and quiet and the owner Mary proved to be a first class host. Breakfast in the morning was a real treat with a full Irish breakfast or scrambled eggs and smoked salamon to name but a few m

Review 4:Hard to quibble at all as was so good. Power outlets in room for laptop etc would be helpful. Some guests might find beds too firm , I did not mind .

Review 5:Great advice from Mary as to restaurants to go to and country drives . Excellent breakfast, rooms spacious and very well equipped with very good bathrooms . Breakfast excellent with great choices .Room was warm when we arrived which was appreciated .

Review 6:That we couldn' take it with us.

Review 7:This place is exceptional! Located about 5 minutes from the Main Streetof Clifden, it is quiet, spotless and welcoming. The Irish humor andhospitality are wonderful. After five nights there, we found it hard toleave. If you like to walk or hike, you'll get some finesuggestions. And the live music that comes with breakfast was somethingwe've seen nowhere else. This place and its people rate a ten!

Review 8:Very clean, friendly and accommodating. Mary is a lovely hostess as was everyone in the breakfast room. Very nice location in walking distance to the town of Clifden.

Review 9:Lack of sitting room facilities was a drawback.,meaning that you could only return to go to bed.

Review 10:Friendly,convenient to Clifden, clean.Staff very friendly and the '''bean an ti''was ever present, and performed on fiddle, flute, and song for us. at breakfast obviously talented and I was impressed by her lingual talents.

Review 11:Was told after I arrived that breakfast was not included in the price, even though there was no indication of this on the booking form. I had checked other hostelries in the area on the site and deliberately did not choose to stay in any of them when I noticed that breakfast would be €10 extra. So, I was rather dismayed to be informed when I was already ensconced in my room that I would have to pay extra if I wished to have breakfast!! I was eventually told that they would include breakfast but I chose to skip it as I did not have much appetite for it!!! It struck me as a bit of sharp practice, I must admit. There were at last six other people booked in that night - that would be an extra €60 if none of them objected, as I did! Also, we hear so much about the great Irish welcome that I was shocked to find, once I was shown to my room, that there did not seem to be a soul around the house. The two doors off the entrance hall were locked when I tried to find someone to inform that I would not need breakfast. I don't know what would have happened if I had had an emergency!! Does Bord Fáilte not require all hosts to have a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities in all rooms? Some establishments offer tea and scones on arrival - I was not expecting that, but I was very annoyed that I could not even make myself a cup of coffee in my room!

Review 12:The location. The room. The bed.

Review 13:The wifi strength may not be great but it does the job, the beds are not very comfortable but when you are just spending one night, after walking around all day, the bed was ok. :)

Review 14:The location of this B&B is good, within walking distance to shopping and pubs, the hostess is super nice and very accommodating, she definitely makes you feel at home.

Review 15:Nothing. Everything was great.

Review 16:Mary is amazing! Sings your requests and plays the fiddle and tin whistle after breakfast. Only 3 minutes walk to the great bars and restaurants.

Review 17:Not a criticism but a note, wi-fi did not extend to the bedroom, not a big deal for us personally.

Review 18:Own front door key and ability to come and go as we pleased was great. Proprietress is very friendly without being intrusive. Would recommend to any visitors to Clifden.

Review 19:Mary and her daughter were awesome! They welcomed us like family and the breakfast was amazing! Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

Review 20:Mary puts a lot of effort into running this B&B. It is a comfortable place to stay with wonderful breakfast. Mary is extremely friendly and talkative, maybe a tad over the top.

Review 21:The owner is a bit annoying, she talks a lot, makes fun of men a lot, sings a lot... Besides, you must be strictly on time for breakfast,otherwise...

Review 22:Nice location, furniture, cleaness

Review 23:The rain the next morning! Can't blame anyone for that!

Review 29:There needed to have more instructions on breakfast times and location. There was no other place to gather besides our room. It was a little difficult to locate.

Review 30:Our hostess performed for us at breakfast which I have not had done before.

Review 31:Mary is a true character and wonderfully entertaining. The accommodation is comfortable and clean. Great breakfast and close to restaurants and bars in town.

Review 32:I can honestly say I found nothing wrong with my stay

Review 33:I liked the friendly atmosphere in the house and the food and service was absolutely excellent. Plus it was a short walk from clifden. Iliad it so much i prebooked it for next year.

Review 34:we had a poor night sleep (sleepless) because of the very old and lumpy mattress. Shame otherwise it is perfect

Review 35:friendliness owners, location :walking distance into town. breakfast.

Review 36:Mary and her daughter were wonderful hosts. They were both a wealth of information about the history, geography and sights to see in the area. Breakfast was delicious, music was lovely, all-in-all the nicest hosts and most comfortable atmospher of our trip.

Review 37:we were v disappointed that there was no hot water to have a shower on the morning of departure. water was not even like warm. that is not really acceptable. not a minor issue.

Review 38:room and locatipn

Review 39:Nothing to dislike

Review 40:The owner's daughter has to be the most welcoming person in the world. What a wonderful lady. She cared for us as if we were royalty. Grandaughter (7 years old) fell in love with her. Wonderful breakfast, great atmosphere, Traditional comfort.

Review 41:We had a great stay here. Mary, the proprietor, is a real sweetheart. We were only there for two nights, but she made us feel like a part of her family. It's only a five minute walk from the town center, but still feels, as described, like a country lodge.

Review 42:Very friendly Guesthouse, only a few minutes walk from the centre of Clifden. Mary was wonderful, very welcoming and very helpful with suggestions of places to visit. Try and make some to do the sky drive (just round the corner from the Guesthouse) the views are spectacular.

Review 43:To stay just one night, we'll come back ! :)

Review 44:The owner of the property, her warm welcome, her kindness and her breakfast. Moreover, she's an extraordinary musician and singer ! Her gorgeous coffee and the lovely Guesthouse will charm you for sure. The spacious room was really nice and clean, nothing wrong.

Review 45:The owner Mary was amazing, she made us feel very much at home. She was singing and playing on request for us and even took us for a drive along the Sky Road. A very memorable place, we would love to go back some day.

Review 46:Mary and her daughter Stephanie are amazing!!! During our stay my dad had an accident. They took such good care of me while he was in hospital. They acted like family when we were so far from our own!

Review 47:The heater was on but our room never warmed up. We froze; my husband had to sleep in his clothes as he was that cold. There was minimal water pressure and we were told that was the best they could do. Would NOT recommend this to travelers.

Review 48:Pretty house

Review 49:That we had to leave.

Review 50:Marys (the owner) warmth and genuine Irish hospitality knows no bounds .The guesthouse was beautiful and the Irish breakfast was overflowing with home cooked absolute goodness. Her Daughter who served us breakfast was so naturally charming and attentive to everyones needs . This is what true Irish hospitality is all about.... you can feel it in your heart... its real....and it is very much alive in this wonderful house. Thank you for sharing that with us, Maeve and Con

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:Great welcoming and the tent we had for the first night was very comfortable(only joking)stayed in many b&b's in the past and I must say this is the best one yet hope for a discount next year lol.

Review 53:Our stay at the Guesthouse was absolutely great. Mary and heir daughter gave us a lovely welcome in their very clean and wonderful home. We also had the pleasure of Mary brighting up our breakfast with an absolut stunning violin solo!

Review 54:My husband and I, and our friend, found the singing and music at breakfast a touch embarrassing, as impromptu breakfast performances are not something we're used to in Ireland. No doubt, Americans love it, and it is a change from the radio! Nothing else to complain about.

Review 55:I liked the location, beside the town, yet not part of it. Our hostess was friendly, and musical - she serenaded us at breakfast! Our room was spacious and clean (the tv was a little on the small size, but had good picture and sound), and the food was excellent. I requested pancakes, as I don't eat fries or cereals, and I got beautifully cooked pancakes and fruit. Overall, very good.

Review 56:It was very hot but can't really complain about a heat wave. A fan may have helped but the heat was very out of the ordinary for Ireland

Review 57:The proprietor takes a personal interest in her guest and was very friendly and knowledgeable. Definately the best breakfast of our stay! She played fiddle, tin whistle and sang for us. Of course Connemara is beautiful! Lovely place to stay!
