Reviews for Petropoulakis Tower
Review 1:A stunning location with views in every direction - to mountains and sea. The family could not have been more friendly including us on one night in a shared evening with their friends. Décor of rooms with Italian furniture could not be faulted - we were given a larger room with balcony which we will remember for years to come. Good pool, sun terrace and total tranquillity.
Review 2:Air conditioner switched off automatically during the night - this should not be done, it is the guest's decision.
Review 3:Great hotel with friendly owners, good food and wonderful ambiance.
Review 4:There is construction going on next door and we were woken up early each morning by it. Room faced the parking which also contributed to the noise.
Review 5:The people were very helpful.
Review 6:Wifi only available in pool area not bedrooms, what do you expect with such thick walls, though?!!
Review 7:Welcoming hosts, wonderful views, great walking country. Large choice at breakfast and evening meal. Well looked after swimming pool, relaxing atmosphere away from it all. Car essential. Second visit and we will return.
Review 8:Wi fi only works in the common areas.
Review 9:Great location, friendly & helpful staff and beautiful rooms with great views. Breakfast was excellent. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Review 10:WiFi worked only seldomly and only around the pool.
Review 11:We spent one amazing week at the Tower, in an incredible suite. The hosts are great people who made sure we feel perfect even through rough times for Greece. We visited the whole Mani peninsula and also Monemvasia on their advice and fell in love with the places and people!
Review 12:Internet access through Wifi not available in the hotel room (but it is in a common area). Access to the hotel is by a narrow winding road, which may look a bit scary at first (but one gets used).
Review 13:One feels immediately welcome (by the owner, but also his very friendly dogs). The hotel is located in a beautiful area of olive groves and absolutely quiet at night. The room was beautifully decorated. The history of the hotel is fascinating. The food (both at breakfast and dinner; mostly home-cooking) was great and the regional wine superb.
Review 14:Wifi was available only in the public area, but not in the rooms.
Review 15:Family run hotel with great service, fantastic breakfast and dinner made with locally grown produce cooked by the family themselves. Feels like you're visiting friends - they are very hospitable and kind people. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a beautiful terrace overlooking the mountains and olive groves. Highly recommended!
Review 16:Provides a fantastic base for exploring the Mani. There is a lot to see within easy driving distance. Masses of high quality food and excellent wine. Very hospitable owners.
Review 17:The access was very difficult on unfenced roads The swimming pool did not look inviting, being cloudy The big dogs were all over you and the poor cats, who were having a rough time. It's not 4 star, although it aims to be.
Review 18:Meals by the pool
Review 19:Very friendly family run business. EXCELLENT ACCOMODATION...All home grown product served. A quiet location requires transport to get around...but close enough to town center..True Maniot hospitality from original descendants of area who have restored family tower house..Recommend to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing environment, which delivers a insight into life of the Mani region..
Review 20:Narrow road to top of hill, so best to travel during the day and enjoy the home cooked meals at night.
Review 21:Great retreat away from the tourist spots but close enough to Githeio to enjoy the sea side cafés during the day. Good family run business made us feel welcome with great home cooked meals using produce grown on the estate. Good opportunities for interaction with other guests.
Review 22:Nothing.
Review 23:Dimitri and Yota are excellent hosts; very concerned that their guests have a wonderful stay. Excellent recommendations for beaches and places to see. Breakfasts and dinner were delicious, with a good choice. All in all, highly recommended.
Review 24:The swimming pool was not very clean. The lights were too dim to have dinner outside. Very small windows in the room. Very poor internet connection.
Review 25:Confortable room. Staff was nice. Breakfast and diner beside the swimming pool with a beautiful view on the Tayget mount. Restaurant "à la bonne franquette".

Review 41:everything!!!!
Review 42:Magical location and views Excellent breakfast and dinner by the pool Room was simply furnished but characterful with good bathroom Friendly staff
Review 43:Absolutely nothing to complain about!
Review 44:Splendid situation with 360 degree views. Friendly patron and family, there is a restaurant with limited choice and you have to book in advance. A really wonderful restoration of what was once a small tower house village, as yet unspoilt by over-development. Tasteful furnishings, veering towards farrow and ball! Quality fixtures and fittings and excellent value.
Review 45:Nothing
Review 46:This was our second visit and we plan to go again. The owner is welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. He is happy to cook an delicious evening meal using typical local products.
Review 47:Hospitality as if you were staying with long time friends, stunning location, breakfast was of a quality beyond compare easily the best that I have ever had in Greece after 4 weeks of travelling. I ate dinner on 2 occasions, the food was home produced and excellent, and sitting together with the Dimitris the owner and Yota his wife and other guests was like a family gathering. I look forward to going back.
Review 48:Great view,excellent hospitality,very clean rooms,high quality -whithlocal products -breakfast and dinner,friendly animals.Thank you all-Dimirtis,Giota,Leonidas,Eugenia.Bravo!!!

Review 50:Absolutely fantastic!!!!!! Friendly service...relaxed atmosphere...professionalism, beautiful décor, cleanliness. The owners always there to give you anything you like...
Review 51:It was difficult to find at night. This hotel is still under construction and equipments at entrance were bit of eye sore.
Review 52:A charming restored old house/tower on a hill with great views.
Review 53:nothing
Review 54:Easily the most memorable and most enjoyable accomadations of our trip to Greece. Fabulous views, wonderful room, and, especially, wonderful hosts. the meals (we ate dinner and breakfast there) were excellent, made from local ingrediants, and very well prepared. We had a good time talking with the host and with other guests. The location is simply magnificent, and our top-of-tower room with beautiful views in three directions was outstanding. The specially made Italian furniture fit the rooms perfectly.
Review 55:We were impressed by the amazing hospitalty of the family owning the hotel and their will to please their guests. We liked the warm ambiance, the traditional greek kitchen, the unfogettable New Year diner and of course, the splendid view from the top of the hill over the valleys mountains of Peloponnese, with a beautifuk corner of the sea. Our dog, Forester, did like his stay as well because he was free to play in the tower's yard and to profit of the friendly attitude of our hosts. We were able also to see how the olives are grown and collected and to taste the freshly prepared olive oil by Mr. Petropoulakis.
Review 56:The only problem with the hotel is the location(the hotel is isolated), but as long as you're coming to relax you'd have a great time.
Review 57:The family running the place was very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing, well decorated and very clean. Pool seemed nice though we havn't used it, and the breakfast was rich and tasty.
Review 58:Amazing hospitality - a lovely family!! Perfect location to relax Easy access for day trips Beautiful hotel Breathtaking views Best home made Greek food They use fresh products from their land and farm. They produce and serve their own exquisite olive oil, which is an absolute must!! Great to visit on honeymoon, with friends or with a 3 year old (like we did).
Review 59:Music in bar/pool area. We do not like background music at all and it is not necessary. Drive to hotel is difficult at night. Could white lines be painted along roadside from the main road. It would be much safer!
Review 60:Character of hotel. Sensitivity of restoration
Review 61:The hotel was not very easy to find.
Review 62:Excellent breakfast, made with love. Relaxing atmosphere and superfriendly service. Ask the owner for the best beaches and highlights of the Mani.
Review 63:some building work next door but it was very discreet and didn't affect the quality of our stay
Review 64:totally perfect rooms, fantastic 360 ° views, very quiet location (NO traffic noise! , very friendly hosts and: have the delicious home-made food!! breakfast and dinner are amazing!!
Review 65:Slightly infinished feel to it , no food except breakfast and it seemeda bit disorganised as they seemed not to know I had booked ! But it isa lovely spot but perhaps a few more sign posts of where it is as easyto get lost
