Reviews for Blackheath Motor Inn

Review 1:- it was quite loud during the night as it's located near a big street where lots of trucks drive through during night. Normally I don't really care about such things as I don't wake up quite easily, that night though I woke up several times because it was that loud

Review 2:- room was okay, not fancy though and a bit old - good value for money - very nice hosts

Review 3:Great experience to sleep here during your trip in the Blue mountains. The room looks a loggers cabin in the woods, which fits your feeling. The owners are really kind and gave recommendations for lunch and dinner.

Review 4:Greg and Jane were exceedingly helpful and provided information for guests to identify restaurants and cafes in walking distance, as well as other activities for the local area. A bbq was also available.

Review 5:We enjoyed the motel, it brought back memories, have stayed there many times. It has new owners, they seem really nice and helpful. Just enjoyed all.

Review 6:Owners were very helpful, were understanding, polite and just overall great! The room was fantastic, we stayed in the spa suite. Bed was comfortable, and the spa was near the bed!! (I really liked that! Could soak in the tub and watch TV at the same time!) Good facilities too!

Review 7:The room was very small and she had put in that we were 3 adults. There was a double bed and and a fold out couch that when opened, took up the entire room. Also upgraded and paid for a garden view which really was not a real garden at all.

Review 8:The new owners are so kind and helpful. The location was really good as well.

Review 9:Our hosts were so welcoming and super friendly! When we had difficulty with some equipment, they rectified the problem in minutes. I heard that they have only just (3 weeks ago) taken over the business and have some super plans. We will stay again on our next visit to the Blue Mountains!

Review 10:Lighting not very strong in n as in area, could be better. Plug in bath need a chain, was hard to remove out when full of water.

Review 11:Overall good basic accomodation.

Review 12:Slight road noise but still was able to have a good and restful sleep.

Review 13:Staff Jane and Mark(just took over management 2 weeks ago) were welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was ready and very clean, had a unique and slightly alpine feel about it and very cosey. Would stay again at anytime when in the area.

Review 14:on the highway and over the road from the main train line. Owners not available until 8:30 am to give feedback. Step into the bathroom in the dark.

Review 15:Handy to where we needed to be.

Review 16:No free wifi, quite a bit of noise from the road and nearby railway but to be expected really given the location

Review 17:Good location, a very easy walk into the town (recommend the Gardners pub for good value, great pies!), very clean

Review 18:There was an extra $10/night charged upon checkout for twin room facilities. Apparently this was in the 'fineprint', but don't understand this when the room was booked at the price for twin room. This is only a minor problem though.

Review 19:Location was fantastic. We could do all our walks leaving the car at the motel.

Review 20:Faulty air condition. Noisy air condition next door. Noisy tap water. Difficulty to open fridge as it was boxed inside a tight cabinet. . Hidden cost ($5 for WiFi) . Old catering facilities.

Review 21:Location

Review 22:Beds were not made each day. Not that we minded that much, but you usually expect them to be made daily at a motel/hotel. Toilet paper wasn't restocked.

Review 23:Nice and warm room. Had laundry facilities. Staff gave map and ideas on what to see while in the area which was helpful.

Review 24:The owner gave us such a cheery welcome & when we had a problem with the heater he rapidly brought us a new one very happily......great can do attitude,

Review 25:Room could have been warmer, the small air conditioner wasn't enough but we are from a warmer climate and may just be being wimpy!

Review 26:My boys (5 & 3) loved the little garden. The room was great, the whole place has a lovely atmosphere about it. It is exceptionally clean and the shower is excellent. I would have no hesitation in staying again (we will!) or recommending to anybody.

Review 27:We stayed in the spa suite and were pleasantly surprised by the finishings and the feel of the space. Very classy with a spa in the bedroom! after a long day walking we really appreciated the clean lovely space.

Review 28:Room was freezing cold when we arrived. Tap in bathroom way too low Bed and carpets need updating Very close to railway line. Very noisy when a train goes by. Luckily , appears like no train runs from approx 11pm to 6am

Review 29:Only 10 minutes from echo point. Maybe not as fast as I am used to from the UK, but this wa the only place in my 8 days visit to Australia were wifi was reliable. Even 4 stars hotels failed at that.

Review 30:The Great Western Hwy can get a bit noisy.

Review 31:Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, cosy and comfortable rooms. In the heart of Blackheath, the best town in the mountains.

Review 32:The location was suitable for my purpose. The room, No6, was surprisingly quiet, given the Motels proximity to the road. All in all, I was very satisfied and will use you again.

Review 33:The only thing, which wasn't the motel's fault was the noise from the train line opposite. Trains ran 24hrs & used their horn each and everytime on approach which woke us up.

Review 34:Walking distance to restaurants & cafes. Large, clean room with a DVD player & tea & coffee facilities, including fresh milk.

Review 35:The provision of fly spray for mosquitos is very thoughtful. Little outdoor setting in a small secluded garden was lovely to enjoy a coffee after a long drive. Very close proximity to eating places and shopping. Fantastic market on Sunday mornings.

Review 36:Bathroom is quite old and located right on the highway, but still value for money.

Review 37:Right near the centre of black health, it's a great place to base yourself for a nice weekend.

Review 38:Only improvement I would recommend is to have a whole grain bread option as white was the only bread available for breakfast as far as I was aware.

Review 39:Great accommodation in the little town of Blackheath in the Blue Mountains. Staff were really friendly and accommodating and room was great. Felt like you were staying away from the city with the wood design and back yard of the room.

Review 40:noise at night from train and trucks.

Review 41:friendly helpful management. pleasant room atmosphere. lovely garden outside with table & chair. close to shops and facilities. provision of breakfast in deal.

Review 42:It's a 'Motor Inn', so prepare for some loud trucks, buses and trains. There's no hiding from this. Breakfast is served only between 7 and 8. Otherwise friendly staff has little knowledge of possible activities in the vicinity.

Review 43:Comfortable room Excellent facilities Very comfortable bed If you look closely, there will be a good deal available with upgraded room and free breakfast Friendly staff

Review 44:The western Highway runs past the motel and so road noise is an issue - take ear plugs. Room was dark. Room not serviced at all - don't know why.

Review 45:Closeness to the railway station

Review 46:Very poor lighting including number of windows (very small basement type window ans a sliding glass door, uncomfortable beds, cinderblock walls resembled staying in basement, no microwave, room right next busy trucking road and railroad, stone parking lot, would not stay here again

Review 47:nice continental breakfast, very nice people

Review 48:This is no fault of the staff, however there is a bit of noise fromtrains who have to blow the horn approaching Blackheath station. Themain problem is the heavy trucks using noisy engine exhaust brakes asthey enter Blackheath from the west at all ours of the day & night. It's ironic that mobile speed cameras work that area almost everyday & night, forcing the truck drivers to rely even more on theengine exhaust braking system to slow the trucks to avoid making acontribution to the State's coffers. Because the revenuershaven't figured out how to collect money off noisy trucks, localBlackheath residents & Visitors suffer & this works againstpeople like Eddy & Senga who are trying to encourage local tourismIn our 9 days there, we dined out every night, also left a lot of moneyin local shops. We will follow this up with an email to nsw rms

Review 49:Proximity to the places we wanted to visit Eddy was very helpful withadvice on 4x4 tracks to see something different like the Cox's RiverRd & 6' Track.

Review 50:There was a strong scent in the room, presumably from a cleaning solution or similar. Whilst you quickly get used to it, it was there each time we returned to the room.

Review 51:The motel is very conveniently located only a very short walk from the restaurants in Blackheath and is well positioned for trips to the other attractions in the area. The owners were friendly. The facilities are reasonably basic but clean and overall good value.

Review 52:My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Blackheath Motor Inn last weekend. We were very happy with the spa suite and especially pleased with the little courtyard and garden. This really added to our comfort and privacy. The facilities were clean and very comfortable. We would certainly stay here again. Excellent hosts as well, very accommodating.

Review 53:Kogan TV and Kogan heater did not perform particularly well in the cool foggy conditions.

Review 54:Spacious room. Close to the excellent Piedmont Inn. Good value in house breakfast. Would return.

Review 55:The loaction, the room was very tidy and a decent size, I was suprised that the traffic and train line noise was minimal and not a problem, the owners were very helpful, lovely and down to earth, very hassle free and laid back, absolutley gorgeous and beautiful surrounding area, fox sports was a bonus.

Review 56:Comfortable mattress and thick enough walls not to be disturbed by neighbours. Curtains to block out the light meant a restful night. Short walk to town. Proprietor helpful providing a map of town and surrounds.

Review 57:No milk in room Told of extra $ 10 charge for twin room only when I arrived, in spite of the fact that they had sent me 2 earlier emails. Neither of these mentioned the extra charge.

Review 58:Nothing! It's great value for money. Perhaps being able to open a window would be good.

Review 59:How easy it is to check in and out. How easy to come and go. How pleasant and uncomplicated using a Motor Inn is. How pleasant and helpful the staff are.

Review 60:Our room was facing to the road and railway line, which affected the sleep with lorries coming downhill with pressure brakes all night through. Will request one of the rooms facing away from the road next time.

Review 61:Staff is very helpful. Prior to our arrival, a heater had been placed into our room, so it was nice and cosy when we arrived. The accommodation has a rustic alpine style, which is very warm and homely - you instantly feel welcome and at home. The hotel is conveniently placed close to Katoomba, Wentworth Falls etc. The Jenolan Caves are also just 1h away.

Review 62:Road noise on Friday night Cleaning products had a strong perfume Room was a little dark - lighten-up the dark wood on the next redecoration!

Review 63:Convenient location Helpful mangers Clean Well set out room (garden)

Review 64:nothing to not like

Review 65:very attentive owners without being the least intrusive very obliging and helpful also comfortable, spacious room and very punctual hot breakfast!

Review 66:The ice on our car in the morning!

Review 67:Friendly staff. Delicious bacon and eggs delivered to the room every morning. The free WiFi was reliable. Very close to restaurants/pubs and cafes. Unlike other reviewers we found the heating in our room to be more than adequate for our stay in july. We will be returning if we ever need to stay in Blackheath again!

Review 68:The small fan heater is totally inadequate in this location in winter. The circuit breaker in room 2 tripped off due to over loading. The room needs a decent reverse cycle air conditioner.

Review 69:The toast at breakfast could have been a little more interesting.

Review 70:The friendliness of the staff and the location. We enjoyed the breakfast also. Our room was mostly quiet despite the motel being on the Western Highway and near the rail line. The room was spacious with a comfortable lounge.

Review 71:shower was very poor in that there was not water pressure other amenities in bathroom were good

Review 72:friendly staff very comfortable room and attention to small details great location

Review 73:I took my grandchildren to hopefully see snow. It did not snow, but at least they saw and felt sleet.

Review 74:The Motel is within walking distance of the town and short driving distance to Lookouts. The owners were most welcoming and obliging.

Review 75:It was freezing temperatures outside, and was so nice to walk into our room nicely warmed, did not want to leave the next morning, could of stayed in the room all day,

Review 76:Nothing.

Review 88:close to main road

Review 91:Friendly owners. Under new management and really interested in customer feedback.

Review 92:Very helpful and friendly hosts!

Review 93:Dust filled air con & someone else's sock? left under table which I guess means it may not have been cleaned there?

Review 94:Price & location

Review 95:The staff were very friendly and helpful

Review 96:The beds & pillows were very comfortable. The owners very friendly & helpful. Only stayed one night but it was well worth it.

Review 97:friendly, helpful, quiet, clean

Review 98:No one at check in. Bathroom far too small for a wheel chair. Too much road noise

Review 99:Jane is a great host, the motel is in a good location with just a short walk to the Blackheath shops.
