Far Out Village descritpion

The Far-Out Village Resort Hotel was built in 1995, harmoniously designed in the traditional Cycladic architecture. The hotel was set on the site of a typical Ios summer style villa and has kept the shaded gardens surrounding the white buildings and the main house in its original style.
From breakfast to late dinner, stay at the Far-Out Village restaurant and enjoy some of the finest cuisine.
Right by the swimming pool, our chef will specially care for your gourmet taste, cooking some of the most amazing international specialties.
You can also simply choose to taste a wide range of home made pizzas, finely baked in our olive tree wood fire oven.

Reviews for Far Out Village

Review 1:Staff must be used to checking in groups as a number of tours stop here, but we had a fairly poor experience. No info re our included breakfast, our room wasn't on the map of the grounds and we weren't told how to get there, and they keep your passport which I personally don't like. Shower was extremely poor, and similar in friends' rooms too.

Review 2:Far Out is well designed with a cafe/bar, pool etc all in one place on the beach. The bus stops right outside to the town as well. Cafe food was nice if a bit expensive, plenty of restaurants down the road though. Great pizzas.

Review 3:So many wasps!! Hard to eat breakfast in the morning. Constantly swatting and running away from them!

Review 4:Amazing breakfast in the morning, great Pool and beach. Clean, spacious rooms. Close to choral and nitelife

Review 5:Sun bed cushions could do with updating they are not comfy. Beds very hard and also pillows very hard as well as the Sheets were starchy. air con and fridge were quite noisy and kept me awake most nights for hours. Breakfast is a bit minimal, could do with more fruit. Also no fly or wasp control in eating area and inundated with flies/wasps whilst eating.

Review 6:Great location and delicious menu to choose from. Pool is nice too.

Review 7:The hotel has terrible costumer service; they only care about the money and not the people. There are many drunk people in the pool because there is an open party every day. The room is not clean, full with mosquitos and dead mosquitos on the walls.

Review 8:We had a rough time trying to sleep due to the very noisy neighbours and the night guard could not control them.

Review 9:Great position, in front of the beach and near a watersports center. Free transport from and to the port. Very nice pool area.

Review 10:The only thing about far out beach club would be its location from the clubs and the fact there aren't many taxis so it's a 20 minute walk home every night in the dark if you can't get a taxi. However during he day being across the beach makes it worth while.

Review 11:I liked the fact it was across from the beach, the far out beach club parties made staying at far out amazing. The pools and bars and the interaction of many young people allows you to meet new friends. I wouldn't stay anywhere else

Review 12:The rooms were absolutely horrible and smelt disgusting due to the leaking toilet/drain. we booked a double bed and recieved two very uncomfortable singles.

Review 13:The pool area was nice

Review 14:We booked a room with a double bed, however ended up with two creeky, hard single beds with horrible bed Linen. The room smelt like sewerage and the toilet leaked. The wifi was the worst we've ever experienced.

Review 15:The location aircon in the room, pool area and atmosphere was great if you want to party!

Review 16:They putted me on a two single bed room, onde I've asked for a double bed. Safe wasn't working.

Review 17:It's amazing who wants to party during the day, enjoy the pool and have affordable drinks.

Review 18:The beds were squeeky

Review 19:All the facilities at Far Out Village and Beachclub were excellent. Loved the location at the beach with the water sports and activites. Easy bus ride or walk to Ios town.

Review 20:Wifi wasn't able to cope with the amount of guests staying within the complex

Review 21:Having stayed in the Hostel part of far out previously and this time having stayed within the hotel part the difference is much better as far as the comfort and facilities are concerned. Great pools, fantastic restaurant and great location and beach!

Review 22:Little dark at night to try and find your way back to room. Breakfast had no fruit.

Review 23:Great location right across from one of the best beaches in Greece!! Very fair prices! We stayed in the village and the rooms were super nice and had a patio as well. Cool vibe and you can either chill or party

Review 24:They hold your passport until your check-out

Review 25:If you are not looking to stay in the center (where bars and restaurants are), this is the best option you'll find in Ios. If you want to go to the center, you need a 15 mins bus (1.60 euros), that stops after 11PM, after that you need a taxi to come back from clubs/bars (5 euros). The hotel/hostel itself is fantastic for group of travelers. For solo traveler making new friends I recommend Francesco Hostel first.

Review 26:On premises mini mart very expensive. Included Breakfast needs fruit.

Review 27:Free aircon, great room size, 24hr reception so you can leave your key. Great beach right out front and convenient bus services. More for the young or party goers than family holidays. Fantastic daiquiris!

Review 28:Average breakfast

Review 29:Far out Village takes advantage of the beautiful beach of Mylopotas and the proximity to the Chora (village) of Ios. It is very clean and the personel is helpful and friendly. Although there is a pool bar, our room was nice and quiet and we really enjoyed our stay.

Review 30:The staff treat all guests and as a young backpackers Poor breakfast Air conditioner does not work properly They provide a pick up at the port but they do not provide the transfer on the way back

Review 31:Great location and nice pool

Review 32:There were no screens at the windows.Mosquitos sting us all the time. No good wi-fi signal.Internet is used all the time by all and it was difficult to connect were you wanted. The cuisine needs improvement in some dishes.

Review 33:Wonderful atmosphere, excellent staff, total relaxation, nice rooms, superb location! If you wanted quietness you got it! But,if you want to party, the place is next to the camping complex.everything was amazing!

Review 34:- The hotel is quite old and it is obvious that it has never been renovated. Our room was spacious –intended for a family, as it had two additional beds- but the bathroom was so small that if you sat on the toilet your knees would touch the wall –actually my knees were touching the wall whereas my husband had to sit on the side!... Breakfast was basic. The beach in front of the hotel is nice, but seriously littered with cigarette butts and empty plastic bottles. Right next to the hotel is the hotel’s beach bar, which is playing really loud music that you can hear while at the beach, at the taverna at the end of the beach and even in your room! Clearly the hotel is for young people who go to Ios to party. And when we say young we are talking 18-20! To all the above add that we paid 120€ per night which was outrageous for what it offered! We only stayed for a night and then moved out…

Review 35:We booked this hotel after it has been recommended by a friend. It is right on Mylopotas beach which is itself a beautiful beach and the girls at the front desk are really nice and helpful. And this is where what we liked ends…

Review 36:Nothing Greek about the place. I might as well been home in Australia. Encouraging the young to behave badly did not impress me really. Wifi is very, very poor

Review 37:Great value for money

Review 38:Wifi access was slow, location was slightly out of town but it doesn't deter you from doing anything

Review 39:Good place to meet people, good for partying - don't go here if you don't want to party

Review 40:Felt a bit unsafe walking along the road at night because of the traffic but loved everything about IOS and the Far out Village!

Review 41:Loved everything, the pool area, the food, the accomodation (stayed at a 2 bed private room with breakfast); meters away from the beach. Bus ride from IOS town, walk back from town via shortcut took about 30min..

Review 42:Nothing

Review 43:Location, right next to the beach

Review 44:Very hard pillows, wifi does not work in room, very average breakfast

Review 45:Restaurant food is excellent, pool, and beach loungers are great

Review 46:expensive old rooms not very clean small rooms

Review 47:location

Review 48:Easy too get away from party scene if your not feeling it

Review 49:The bathroom smelt

Review 50:Pools, music, drinks, beach, food

Review 51:Shower took ages to get hot and quite bad pressure couldn't prop it up on the wall properly

Review 52:The food and the beach

Review 53:Flies

Review 54:Pool

Review 55:Music from camping's pool was too loud, breakfast was very very poor!!!

Review 56:Wifi didn't work in rooms

Review 57:Perfect location, room sizes were amazing. All up great placentonstay

Review 58:The receptionist ;)

Review 59:Awesome loved it! Best location great room and Allan is the man!

Review 60:Staff could be a bit rude, dismissive. We stayed in an ensuite room with air con which was good and the room was cleaned but it was quite basic and the shower was poor.

Review 61:Amazing location, the pool and beach were fantastic. It was a lot nicer than I thought it would be given it is a party resort. Up the road you could find nice restaurants to have different food and 20 min walk from the town. We could still use the spa even though we were not at the hotel and the facial was spectacular.

Review 62:Bathroom was a little small (sitting on the toilet is a bit difficult for taller people!)

Review 63:Right next to the beach. €5 cocktails and great pizza! Also the new club/ restaurant opened up while we were there which should make for a great party in high season! We stayed in the village rooms which were clean and spacious.

Review 64:Slight sleeze factor with the male staff. If you're young and female you're their target audience.

Review 65:The location is divine. Glad I went in May as apparently it's a party place and that wasn't what I wanted really (more like a club scene with the intention is to get blinddrunk). At 50 plus I was the oldest guest there and up before everyone although this was great for me. It seemed that the place is run by overaged 'party' dudes (Greek and ex pats) many looking past their useby date with shirts saying R U hot? lol.... still trying to put it out there. Saw a young male employee getting a dressing down and lessons on what to say to the girls etc. Also met one who had just been sacked with enough money for a ferry ride, no payment for work done for the past 10 days and no where to stay for the night. Life is tough for young local people. Seemed to be a lot of hunky muscle boys from Aussie and England strutting around employed to 'entertain'? Strange but I enjoyed the people watching. Great facilities and room was lovely and basic. Clubbing style music was a little tiring after a while...maybe some rock and roll needed? ad a great time though beautiful place!

Review 66:asked to stay an extra night and were told the night before and that morning that our was fine then were kicked out of our room 15 minutes later and told we would have to go to the camping section. Was a bit annoying.

Review 67:The location is amazing so close to the beach and club but you can still choose to chill at the village without being harassed by drunk clubbers if you need a break. great atmosphere!

Review 68:Good service. Modern facilities.

Review 69:Rooms in the village were clean and spacious. The Far Out Restaurant was fantastic, wonderful food at reasonable prices

Review 70:May be a bit loud

Review 71:Location perfect decent accommodation Good atmosphere

Review 72:Right on the beach with a pool and close to the bars. Pool side parties were fantastic aswell.

Review 73:Good value for money. Yianni the waiter at the restaurant from Volos was exceptional. He made our stay very pleasing. fantastic guy

Review 74:Rooms lacking tea / coffee facility Ineffective shower - no pressure Very small fridge

Review 75:Festive atmosphere Access to gym and beach Pool bar

Review 76:Can't flush paper down the toilet!

Review 77:Great bar, restaurant menu and lively atmosphere

Review 78:Bar service Cocktail menu

Review 79:Lunch menu Location Atmosphere
