Reviews for Cavo Spada Luxury Sports & Leisure Resort & Spa

Review 1:Staff not as friendly as made out to be. Was only only the b&b option and always seemed a problem when asking to sign drinks at the pool bar to our room.

Review 2:Loved our room that had access to the private pool, and loved the peacefulness

Review 3:-A bit confusing options of "all inclusive" which is actually not "All" inclusive -It is not a good value for money, when most of the other services have to be paid for. Not asking for a free massage or anything, but at least, the pool towels should be free.

Review 4:The staff was outstanding in every way, tending to our needs 24/7 and with a big smile on their faces! The rooms are immaculate, very quiet, sound and weather proof, the hotel shape is sharp, modern and very well built, and I was astouned by the attention to detail... it is a remote paradise....The food was simply s-u-b-l-i-m-e, I was very pleasantly surprised. Very happy

Review 5:The Wi-Fi was in most times really poor. The pool could be a bit deeper (1.5 m was the maximum depth I think). Maybe we were unlucky, but during our 4 day stay end of August it was prohibited to swim in the sea right in front (Red flag). Renting a car through the Hotel, we were told it included full insurance but then the company (pancar) claimed wheels and bottom of the car are not included, and we must pay some Euros more. Not a big deal but it should either be added to the price list brochure or clarified with the rental company. Cats were present sometimes in the restaurants, but they removed them when complained about.

Review 6:The staff were very friendly; we had booked a seaview room and they mistakenly put us in a room without sea view. They compensated us with a pair of cool massages and were quick to correct the error. The all-inclusive offer was really splendid, possible to eat and drink at almost every hour throughout the day. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet were all of amazing quality. Seafood grill at the Sea Tavern restaurant was also ok. Look out for the different classes / grills offered by the hotel before you book, maybe you would like to schedule your trip to include an activity that is only done for eg. Saturdays. Overall we highly recommend it.

Review 7:Corridor door needed some sound proofing - we could hear everything in the corridor outside.

Review 8:Our room and the sharing pool. The wonderful professional waiters, led by Antonis. Konstantina's warm and caring approach to all diners at the Azzura restauarant.

Review 9:The few improvements that could be made are in the following areas: (but as You can see, from the overall score, it is arguing on a high standard :) The wifi is slow and all inclusive is divided into too many sub-categories which is a bit confusing also meaning, if You have a full all inclusive You cannot get any drinks You like but have to chose from a small variety, f.e. no pina colada or mojito. Possibilities for water sports in and on the sea would be nice, for example the possibility to rent some type of boat or a jet ski or surf board etc.

Review 10:All employees are really polite and friendly. The food from the buffet is both in variety and quality simply great. The hotel and the rooms are comfortable and designed well. The hotel is not overcrowded and a quiet and relaxing place. Overall it was a great stay.

Review 11:Breakfast till 10.30 for the guests ( manager offered us to get b in room at 11) ,no area to hung wet towels and swimsuits,no good sign from road to the resort ( one from chania to the hotel had a lamp but was not on at 3 am when we returned, the other from the other direction was not lighted), long distance from parking area to the room, long distance from room to the beach,

Review 12:Staff.room inside

Review 13:Communication problems even though all staff spoke English

Review 14:Buffet food enormous range Staff simply couldnt do enough for you Swimming Pools All inclusive definitely the way to go A la Carte restaurant sensational

Review 15:The spa area had an excellent appearance, but the treatments could have been of a higher standard.

Review 16:Generosity of space and people respected each other. It had an air of luxury around the reception area.

Review 17:Where to start ? For a 5 star resort the attention to detail was awful. I am guessing that the reception staff had just finished a long summer season & could not be bothered with guests anymore. Information was not very forthcoming & we felt positively unwelcome. Our room was next to the bar & evening entertainment hub which consisted of karaoke until midnight. Not very restful. Towels, toiletries, in room tea & coffee, sugar & milk all had to be hunted down on a daily basis. My young daughter had a bed made up in our room which was so hard it was like sleeping on a board & very uncomfortable. When we complained we were told that an extra mattress could have been provided. Why not do this in the first place ? During our stay there was torrential rain over night which meant the cleaners had to sweep the water away very noisily at 6am. The buffet food was adequate but tired looking & not what I would expect from a 5 star resort. The swimming pool was absolutely freezing, which is a small point, but as this was the main entertainment, a disappointing one. Maybe our stay would have been better in the main holiday season when the resort was full.

Review 18:The design and layout of the resort looked stunning. The rooms were comfortable & spacious. Restaurant staff were pleasant & helpful

Review 19:Didn't like at all; paid everything in cash (also for the rooms) and despite of that they cheated me and charged for some extra room or other things my credit card!!! Be careful, if going there!

Review 20:1. Restaurant "a la carte" far below expectations, both food and service 2. Location - the beach is nothing special and the nearest decent town is 25Ks away (Xania).

Review 21:1. Hotel facilities and accomodation 2. Friendly staff 3. Nice familiy hotel

Review 22:Gym equipment is not much and is a bit old, could be replaced. Location is far from the Heraklion airport so definitely need a car to drive there.

Review 23:The pool is amazing, and loved having a room with a private pool. Also near the beach.

Review 24:Not much choice of fresh fruit, beach towels not always available when we needed them.

Review 25:Beach, pool, staff, food, room and bed. Nice for small kids, for older kids, while still nice and relatively quite (just make sure you get the right room(s).

Review 26:Sun shining bright through room cartens due to big gaps . Need wall to wall cartens with blackout plus very noisy in the morning due to rooms doors banging like bombs. Hotel should cater for halal food and indicate food containing pork products.

Review 27:Staff very helpfull. Nice food selections specialy the vegis . For all inclusive.

Review 28:The Treadmill at the gym needs to be fixed. The body massage was just not worth it.

Review 29:The extremely friendly staff, especially the managers at the restaurant. The pool and the beautiful pebble beach. The food.

Review 30:Wide open spaces, beautiful main swimming pool, open view and direct access to the beach. Very rich breakfast, comfortable room and efficient hard working crew. We took the family room with shared swimming pool and really loved it. A tip for you.. Try the adjacent taverna on the beach (west) "thalassa". Best food and most friendly and welcoming service. Recommended!! Magnificent sunsets.

Review 31:The isolation and pebbled beach

Review 32:Tennis court, the pool and the staff from the cleaners to the reception, bar staff and restaurant staff

Review 33:Food, animals everywhere including restaurant and pool

Review 34:Pool and room with terrace

Review 35:Remote location

Review 36:Swimming pool and spa

Review 37:double room had two single beds put togather but not conected so they were splitting overnight

Review 38:offside location food (all inclusive) stuff

Review 39:faraway from the airport

Review 40:very good food, great stuff, faraway from heraklion hirport ,exellent hotel

Review 41:slow reaction to the first inquiry and long waiting for check-in (before standard time)

Review 42:location, excellent food, beach & sea

Review 43:Excellent quality of services and facilities. Friendly staff Very good breakfast. Clean very big rooms.

Review 44:Our room was close to the bar and outside bar area and most evenings the music/entertainment was quite loud, however it was finished by 11.30 at the latest. The room did not have an iron, would have been nice as it was expensive to have clothing items pressed. It would be great to have some water sports available! and to have the access to the sea made easier, the beach is very stony, this could be mentioned in the brochure.

Review 45:The food was excellent - we were on 'all inclusive' and every meal was something to look forward to. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The pool and pool area is very nice. The room was very well presented and clean, fresh towels every day. Really enjoyed our week here and will be back!

Review 46:Parking lot lighting to hotel entrance was inadequate for security and safety reasons. Minor improvements could make a significant difference.

Review 47:Room with main pool access. Location on Crete. Layout if buildings and grounds. Level of service and quality if staff. Generous breakfast.

Review 48:The main restaurant could offer a better choice of food as well as at least a little bit of atmosphere (e.g. greetings at the entrance, welcome drinks, live music, special cousine evenings, etc.) Sweeming pool is large and clean but the depth is just 1.1 meter everywhere. No animation at all (could be an advantage for someone). Pebble beach. All Inclusive package is rather poor, many things (e.g. extra pillow) are not included.

Review 49:Good location, friendly staff, modern and well-designed facilities, spacious rooms, no queues in the restaurant, clean beach, clear water, sunbed and unbrellas are almost always available.

Review 50:All inclusive alcohol menu was not impressive, no animation/activities

Review 51:Great facilities, not too crowded, good food, on the beach, clean and big rooms

Review 52:For a 5 star hotel, the buffet style evening dinner could have offered better quality and especially hotter (as in not luke-warm) food. Some of the food at breakfast was not to warm neither, but it had massive choice.

Review 53:The location is a bit off from the main area, which is perfect for anyone seeking peace and calm. The staff, starting with Kostas at the front desk, really care about you.

Review 54:Kindly hotelstaff and very goodwill service at receptions and all the restaurants. We didn't have the "all inclusive" , just breakfast, but the meny at the restaurants was very varied and were for the most of very good quality.Since we had our stay in the beginning of May we liked the quiet atmosphere.

Review 55:too much wind in this place, cold pools, not very good sound isolation

Review 56:staff, price for the quality, all-inclusive option
