Reviews for The Bingham

Review 1:No parking. Food, service and drinks good but not excellent. More design than underlying quality. Breakfast a bit disappointing.

Review 2:Lovely location. Very comfortable room.

Review 3:The evening meal did not quite live up to our high expectations and could be described as average rather than excellent

Review 4:The location by the Thames was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed an evening drink on the terrace over looking the river

Review 5:the poor air conditioning noise - the fact we ar regulars and we were not offered a different room until the morning after a sleepless night - the handling of this was poor at the end of the stay-we had tried to book for dinner online but it appeared to be closed and when we arrived they informed us it was open for dinner

Review 6:a very nice spot - we have been two times before and enjoyed the stay a lot-

Review 7:Need ti check parking availability when you book

Review 8:The location is unbeatable, the staff are as good as any 5* hotel anywhere in the world and the hotel and food is pure understated class

Review 9:I was going on the London to Brighton challenge trek, registering at 8am. Staff explained cooked breakfast not possible but could get porridge / pastries. In the end I was told porridge not possible either so got cornflakes, toast, fruit. To be honest I was looking a big breakfast to set me up for my 100km trek!

Review 10:Disappointing noisy staff late at night but I know it's not the norm. Brought it the the attention of the Assistant Manager and General Manager - quickly, suitably and satisfactorily dealt with.

Review 11:The staff are excellent very attentive Beautifully interior designed rooms Delicious contemporary food Great variety of breakfast

Review 12:Bed was a lot to soft. Room was very small. It was extremely expensive for the value.

Review 13:Location was directly at the river thames. 5 minute walk to the trainstation / tubestation.

Review 14:The pillows were a little on the uncomfortable side. There wasn't much to them.

Review 15:The staff and room were excellent. Very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Review 16:Nothing negative this time. I will be staying again, so I'll update!

Review 17:The staff couldn't do enough, the food couldn't be better, and the location was perfect.

Review 18:Very welcoming reception team. My husband mentioned we had stayed there on our wedding night and were back for our anniversary. We had complimentary drinks in the bar and surprise sweets in the room on our return. It was fabulous.

Review 19:As stated above. We should have been told in advance of the closed facilities and given the option of cancelling the booking if we couldn't use the bar and restaurant. We felt like trespassers!!

Review 20:The breakfast was fabulous but the room (Atilla) was horrendously small and extremely dark. The door had a 2inch gap under it. Air con didn't work. The hotel was booked out for a wedding so the bar and restaurant were closed to us. Not acceptable for £190 per night!!

Review 21:the HVAC in the room was hard to figure out

Review 22:location and ambience, the dining and bar staff are great. rooms are a blend of modern convenience in a historic building. reception staff are very helpful.

Review 23:No Wifi available. Bed very hard.

Review 24:Lovely building. Wonderful views. Fabulous breakfast. Friendly staff. Walking distance to Richmond and the Theatre. Good cocktails.

Review 25:The wifi was annoying. I had to go through the whole log in process each time I wanted to use it. The maid service was great except that I like my windows open...she liked my windows locked down. We had a window battle each day!

Review 26:Great service, comfortable bed, the location was perfect for me.

Review 27:Squeaky floorboards from the room above and our room interrupted sleep in river view room.

Review 28:Excellent location to Richmond Park, river walk, restaurants and town centre. It is very much a boutique, historical hotel. Lovely view from river facing rooms. No traffic noise.

Review 29:The air con in our room, (The Atthis) wasn't very powerful and the room was very warm.

Review 30:The hotel decoration, staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a great location for anyone wanting to stay in richmond.

Review 31:We were expecting a deluxe river view room as per our booking through you but instead were put in an attic room with very little view that was also quite run down. Management made no effort to rectify the situation despite our request and simply made excuses as to the problem being at booking.coms end. I would not stay here again or recommend it to any other travelers.

Review 32:Two things only - the restaurant is excellent so well worth coming to. The only the staff member who was professional and helpful was Riccardo. Otherwise we were not made to feel welcome and the management were with the exception of Riccardo poor overall. This is not what I would expect from this supposedly reputable hotel.

Review 33:Got two single beds instead of double and we booked suite whirlpool bath didn't fully work found cuff link under desk which didn't belong to me overall very disappointed not worth the money at all

Review 34:The air conditioning in the bedroom - but that's a very personal choice. My only criticism would be breakfast service - lovely to sit on the balcony looking over the Thames but the service was poor - shouldn't have to keep asking for things in a hotel of this quality.

Review 35:The hotel's position.

Review 36:Didn't know if you would be charged if you had a cup of tea in the room so I didn't have one! need to make it clear

Review 37:Breakfast was to die for The garden was lovely to sit out and have a coffee Defiantly going to stay again

Review 38:Very poor service at breakfast, though I must admit we arrived at the last minute. Despite my apologies our server had a very bad attitude.

Review 39:Beautiful location on the river, wonderful garden, and luxurious calm interior decoration.. Excellent location allowing easy access to Richmond and the river walks. I particularly liked the feeling of being in a luxurious private house.

Review 40:Nothing to mention in this section

Review 41:I ticked excellent on your form above and confirm that we found the hotel superb in all ways, staff, cleanliness, location, decor, room. Also a warm thank you to Ricardo who took care of us and made sure that our wedding dinner party was a tremendous success. We shall certainly stay at the Bingham again.

Review 42:A great London retreat for the ones who are looking for one. Extremely friendly staff and mesmerising view on the riverside. It was absolutely worth every penny.

Review 43:I booked using my credit card, but staff did not accept this to provide his room key, when my partner arrived early - even when this was pre-notified; his reserved parking space was already taken on his arrival from a 5 hour drive. The holding money was questioned and then an enquiry made which resulted in a second holding sum; this was a genuine mistake on the hotel's part I am sure, but the front desk staff were arrogant and unapologetic - having stayed at many good hotels in my business role, I found this unacceptable. We ended up having to press for a discussion with the manager and then take it up ourselves with the holding company - there was no resolution and we had to wait - this caused inconvenience for my partner who had insufficient funds for several days. The mnager was ver apologetic; I felt that his staff could do with a lesson in customer service.

Review 44:Nice room, by the river, excellent furnishings & design of room.

Review 45:We need the hotel to come back to sleep after a long day watching tennis at Wimbledon but the room we were put in was at the ground label one which was very noisy from above so we did not have a good night sleep after all. We would strongly like to return again provided we have the room at the higher floor level. Also, we paid an extra to have river view room but the position of our room is garden view and you could see a little bit of the river if you stand in the particular corner!

Review 46:We need the location near Wimbledon so the hotel is perfect.

Review 47:Lovely setting and top notch restaurant!

Review 48:Expensive considering it's not central London

Review 49:Location and style

Review 50:Noise from bar and outside guests drinking and partying in the hotel, as well as staff coming and going from next door to our room.

Review 51:No lift for 3 red floor with laggage to carry Simple things made complicated like lightening and Shawer

Review 52:Very clean and friendly staff

Review 53:Not able to get a view of the thames neither to open the windows for some fresh air.

Review 54:Friendly staff, good breakfast

Review 55:Fantastic place. Reception and restaurant staff went so out of their way to make everything amazing.

Review 56:Bar and food prices were a bit to expensive

Review 57:The nearby parking

Review 58:The team were amazing so helpful and pleasant

Review 59:Staff were fantastic, beautiful location and lovely hotel.

Review 60:very soft mattress with a couple of springs sticking up! - needs replacing

Review 61:location, staff, ambience

Review 62:Not much...smallish room if I'm being not picking.

Review 63:Ambiance

Review 64:Price of everything

Review 65:Location

Review 66:Very friendly staff, nice little top-notch hotel on a stuning location overlooking the river.

Review 67:Food poor value for money and long wait times between ordering and service

Review 68:Location, rooms, staff

Review 69:Food, staff, accommodation, location

Review 70:Room overlooking the road was hot, noisy and poor value for money.

Review 71:Nothing

Review 72:The location and the comfort

Review 73:Furniture strewn everywhere as a refit was happening, not aware of this when booking made. No hotel bar as a result .

Review 74:Friendliness of staff Location

Review 75:Noise transmission from adjacent rooms and stairway.

Review 76:Great river view and tasteful room decour.

Review 77:Charming hotel right next to the river.

Review 78:Wine list was expensive

Review 79:Restaurant food was excellent. Each course was explained and service was unhurried and just right.

Review 80:Having to come home :(

Review 81:Everything

Review 82:The bar food and drinks are very expensive.

Review 83:The location is ideal

Review 84:no food served on Sunday evenings

Review 85:fantastically pleasant and helpful restaurant manager

Review 86:Parking

Review 87:The bathroom was extremely small and compact.

Review 88:Car park (booking essential). Excellent location with lovely gardens.

Review 89:Intimate and friendly Clean and comfortable

Review 90:Super location, the room was terrific, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer....next time!

Review 91:Friendly, helpful staff, particularly at reception, in the bar and during breakfast ! Great hotel beautiful rooms, a very relaxing stay !

Review 92:NOTHING

Review 93:GORGEOUS ROOM COMFY BED

Review 94:No hot water

Review 95:Comfortable bed

Review 96:Small bathroom

Review 97:A perfect place in every regard

Review 98:Thought that the food and wine - although very good - was rather expensive. It seemed that the ensuite did not have an extractor fan (Isis room).

Review 99:Location, decor, ambiance, staff. Room was good value on same-day booking, although small.

Review 100:Nothing not to like but final finish on bathroom & paintwork around hotel needs attention to be top drawer!

Review 101:Great location a nice Hotel with a bit of TLC it could be top drawer! Food excellent. I would go again.

Review 102:Comfortable accommodation with mod cons, but with a unique feel. Beautiful view over the river. Hard to believe that this venue is so near to London. Friendly, helpful staff. Would highly recommend.

Review 103:Only that the bathroom was a bit tight to get round in,not the end of the world as were only staying for the night, wish it had been longer

Review 104:The view from our room also the view from our table in the resturant perfect. Background music at breakfast, perfect. We had market dinner ,which was scummy and good value.

Review 105:No vegetarian food to speak of in the restaurant's evening meals. With such excellent cuisine it would be nice to see the chef recognise vegetarian diners (11% of the population). We do not wear beards and sandals and have pale, skinny bodies and we do love great tasty food. Thank you.

Review 106:Quiet attentiveness of staff. They know how to cook a poached egg! (most kitchens do not). Décor subtle and relaxing. Brilliant location. Parking! Hooray!

Review 107:Breakfast over a week end should go on until 10-30. Even though we had paid for breakfast, each day we were late. Not sure about the 12.5% service charge. had 3 bottles of champagne £210, add £26.25 optional service charge, make house champagne expensive. If I ordered 3 bottles of wine for say £75 plus £9.35 service charge.... would have the same 'service' involved, therefore the charge is really an optiional VAT. It is optional , but everyone pays, just feel that there should be a ceiling. We'd like to come back in September,

Review 108:Retaurant food, wine list, staff, especially the head one in the bar area, who after I mentioned that my children would be calling in for a drink the next evening, he reserved enough seats which I thought was very good business on his part.

Review 109:Nothing really. Ordered a Long Island Iced tea at the bar that was rubbish.

Review 110:All good I think. Normally I stay at the Petersham which i do like but its nice to be down the hill. Location is good.

Review 111:The room was very small and dark. We were working in the room in the afternoon and it was a squeeze for two of us. The bathroom was tiny with a short bath, but I was glad there was at least a bath.

Review 112:The decor, location and comfort were superb. Beautifully decorated with great facilities i.e. tea/coffee, digital radio, lovely l'Occitane toiletries etc. Turndown service great too!

Review 113:Ironing board was broken and the old iron spat out black bits onto your clothes which was annoying.

Review 114:Beautiful rooms, beautiful food and excellent staff makes you feel very welcome there. Lovely views over the River Thames and the Jacuzzi baths were the icing on the cake!

Review 115:Although dinner was very good the menus available for room service and in the bar were poor. Also the breakfast was disappointing; although the black pudding was exceptional the bacon was salty and sausage anaemic whilst the toast was insubstantial.

Review 116:The style and the staff were tremendous

Review 117:Small attic room at the top of the stairs, but comfortable and nicely furnished.

Review 118:Stayed on Saturday 18th Jan, had a lovely stay at the Bingham. Great location 5 min walk into Richmond and loads of restaurants near by. Would definatley stay again.

Review 119:The wine list carried only very expensive wines.Nothing much under £30.and little under £40. A bit stealthy to charge £12.50 for breakfast but if you wanted tea with it add an extra £4.00 per person. This might sound trivial, but they are so close to getting everything right it seems a shame to spoil it with petty extras like this.

Review 120:The staff were outstandingly attentive and even addressed us by name when arriving at our booked table.Very high standards throughout our stay, most impressive.

Review 121:Some fittings in the bathroom were loose with pieces missing. A very minor detail I know but for a hotel of this standard I would expect better maintenance.

Review 122:The attentive staff, tasteful interiors and location. A wonderful short break.

Review 123:Room a bit small and dark. Found it difficult to find things as lighting couldn't be adjusted much.

Review 124:Location, overlooking river. Quality of room, furnishings, toiletries. General decor. Really nice staff.

Review 125:Unable to get hot water for the shower in the morning which really put a downer on the entire stay.

Review 126:Gloriously comfortable room with quality furnishings and bedding. Jacuzzi bath in the room was fantastic.

Review 127:Had difficulties getting hot water running in room. However someone came up and sorted it in minutes.

Review 128:A fabulous hotel. Every room beautifully design and finished perfectly. The bar is stunning and they serve amazing cocktails.

Review 129:Well it is pricey... but it's the best hotel in Richmond with the best view and location.

Review 130:Location perfect , good food and drinks onsite . Some rooms bigger than others we had to swap as the initial room was tiny. Comfy beds nice deco and bathrooms.
