Reviews for Hotel Piccolo Lido
Review 1:Breakfast has some variety but not tasty, hotel is rather simple and old furnished.overpriced in our opinion.
Review 2:friendly stuff, helpful, location is very nice, right next to the beach. City is not very exciting but with the car lots to see around.
Review 3:The bathroom was a bit cramped but everything else was really good.
Review 4:Friendliness of the staff, the sun terrace and the views from the balcony. It was also well positioned.
Review 5:Bed was hard. Ground floor room near reception was a bit noisy.
Review 6:Good view of sea, just where we wanted to be. Welcoming helpful staff. Pleasant terrace at front
Review 7:All were open and helpful. Great atmosphere. Clean & comfortable. Loved getting a low priced but excellent wine from the dining area to share in our room and on the deck above.
Review 8:This hotel was welcoming and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is ideal, on the beach and away from the busy town center.
Review 9:Very limited parking facilities during late August, improving during the first week of September!
Review 10:A wonderful, attentive and helpful staff and a beautiful view from our third floor balcony made our stay extra enjoyable!
Review 11:Breakfast was really poor both in terms of service and the food itself. My advice: Cut down assortment by 75% and increase quality of the remaining with 300%.
Review 12:Great position facing the beach and boardwalk. Friendly professional front desk staff. Nice rooms, early 1990's style interior but well kept. Very nice terrace on the roof overlooking the bay and hills.
Review 13:Very good location, close to Cote d'Azur, but not as busy. Literally just metres from beach, restaurants and bars. The hotel is clean and staff is helpful.
Review 14:There was nothing that we did not like.
Review 15:I liked the cleaniness of the bedroom and the bathroom; the bed linen and the bathroom linen, we enjoyed our sea view. Maybe next time we will pay a little extra for a balcony. Breakfast good. Afternoon tea a pleasant surprise. This is our second visit and we hope to return.
Review 16:it can be cheaper in winter
Review 17:the kindness of the staff and the calm of the hotel
Review 18:Perfect view and location, friendly staff
Review 19:Right on the beachfront opposite public bathing. Not too noisy for a beachfront hotel, good terrace for people watching. Clean, modern, bright.
Review 20:Location, friendliness of staff, good food
Review 21:Loved everything
Review 22:The position is excellent and the staff are extremely helpful and pleasant.
Review 23:Staff really helpful and pleasant
Review 24:The wonderful breakfast, the helpful staff, and the shop that sells local wine, cheese, olive oil, etc.
Review 25:wonderful service, white glove clean, incredible views and perfect location in Bordighera
Review 26:Outdated facilties, poor shower rooms and decoration jaded. Restaurant needs to change its offerings to enable wider choice.
Review 27:Location and staff.
Review 28:Parking is a problem.
Review 29:Deluxe rooms are big and have great views.
Review 30:nothing
Review 31:very pleasant helpful staff. Lovely sun terrace. Wonderful position overlooking the beach.
Review 32:Location, staff and value for money
Review 33:The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Afternoon tea is a great plus!
Review 34:Soundproofing between rooms . No English television, a news channel would be nice .
Review 35:The staff were delightful and eager to please . Enjoyed a refurbished room . Generous with the happy hour drinks Big selection of breakfast items . We will definitely return.
Review 36:No sand on the beach, anyway this is not an hotel fault.
Review 37:Room in front of the sea with nice small balcony. Nice furniture with big TV. No noise. Very good breakfast. Excellent staff. Our second time at Piccolo Lido, we'll come back again.
Review 38:Wifi connection
Review 39:The hotel location was especially good Staff very friendly and helpful especially with the wifi problem we had Restaurant was good
Review 40:Bathroom a little small
Review 41:Traditional Italian hospitality right by the sea. Comfortable rooms and worth paying the extra to have a sea facing one with balcony. Nothing like going to sleep to the gentle sound of waves lapping the shore.
Review 42:- Parking is terrible - Service in restaurant especially from the male person is not good
Review 43:- Direct at the beach - Good Breakfast - Very friendly service at desk - Good shopping area
Review 44:Nothing.
Review 45:The location, next to the beach and good restaurants like Le Reserve. We had a newly renovated room with wooden floors and sea view. Very clean and nice. Breakfast was good with tables outside the hotel. A pleasant way to start the day.
Review 46:Just a touch run down - there were a few cracks in the tiles. The beds are not the most comfortable.
Review 47:The hotel is very clean. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Excellent location. We had a balcony room with a wonderful view.
Review 48:Please take in mind Bordighera is place for family holidays. Not much fun around. No shopping. It would be great to have more vegetables& fruits for breakfast.
Review 49:I was second time there and really like the location and the hotel hospitality. Greatly appreciate to Andrea (the owner). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was with frontal sea view which had huge benefit. The towels and blankets were crystal white. Seems like new every day.
Review 50:The whole atmosphere was of a simple understated comfort and service with excellent access to town, beach and nearby restaurants. One of the best small hotels we have stayed in in many years of travel
Review 51:Cannot remember...
Review 52:Staying at the Piccolo Lido Hotel was a fine experience. My husband an I plus a close friend enjoyed our stay at this fine, little hotel so close to both the beach and the two Bordigheras - the coastal tourist area, and the medieval old city on the hill... Just lovely!
Review 53:The beds were very hard and the pillows also. I would like a softer pillow option if possible.
Review 54:The staff were so friendly and the cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional. I can't wait to come back again.
Review 55:Hotel doesn`t have own beach. But opposite hotel there is public beach.
Review 56:Thr location was very nice. The hotel sits at one end of a longpromenade. The hotel price included breakfast which was not excellent, but for 3 star hotel - ok. The tables for breakfast is well placed rightacross from a public beach and we were able to injoy the seaview. Thereis small free public parking (8-10 cars) next to the hotel. And we werelacky left our car there overnight. If not, the hotel has paid parkingand there are big pay parking. We 2 times had dinner and it were betterthan breakfast with 4-cours menu 24 Euro. The place is very convinionfor trips to France (Menton, Nice, Monaco) and San-Remo. The room isclean, modern, and well decorated, with flat screen tv with hundreds ofchannels. The staff at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful.
Review 57:If you come at breakfast after 9, the part of food you won't see, for example croissant, cheese or ham could be finished, but nobody brought fresh.
Review 58:Piccolo is situated near the centre of Bordighera, on the seafront, the location is very convenient. If you are travelling by car you can face with a problem of parking, but in high season it's a problem everywhere near the sea and finally it's possible to find the place. Not far from San Remo. The staff is nice.
Review 59:There are only two points to mention: luckily we reserved a garage place for our car in advance, otherwise it would have been very very difficult to find a free parking spot close to the hotel, because of the public beach and the crowd during the high season in August. This way it was very convenient also to make a few visits to the Ligurian mountains (see above) and easy to get back to the hotel and no need to search for a parking lot. The garage is very small, so for a big car there might be problems to get it in the slots. There was very loud music on the beach opposite the hotel, but luckily only on one evening/night, otherwise it was very silent late evening.
Review 60:Excellent location of the hotel right across the beach, and with a room with sea view you face a non-traffic road (Lungomare Argentina, 2km nice walk along the sea) with a view directly to the beach and the sea. Good breakfast buffet with lots of choices. We did not eat in the restaurant of the hotel, so we cannot give any kind of recommendation, however, the hotel is located very close to the old town of Bordighera (5 minutes walk uphill) with many good restaurants. And the hotel is also close to the other parts of Bordighera with lost of shops. Also the Ligurian mountains are close with many nice old towns and villages to visit.
Review 61:Not all staff speaks English. Limited fruitts in July almost apples (how come in Italy)? Take in mind some rooms without balcony what is not convinient for sea resort hotel. Rooms 112, 114 are next to reception and the hotel restaurant. There is noisy within the day.
Review 62:The most valuable staff was Andrea (the hotel owner). If he was not there it would be spoiled vacation. Andrea is very helpful with all kind of questions and tasks. The hotel location is excellent! Visit Terrassa pizzeria (close to Billa supermarket)! There is excellent pizza and ravioli with rabbit.
Review 63:Parking can be difficult, but we were lucky with our street parking and did not have to move the the car during our stay.
Review 64:Location are exelent, staff was friently and we may return. The hotel can be easyly reached by train. You do not need a car there. Fly to Nice, take the train to the hotel and relax.
Review 65:We were visiting for a wedding and I desperately needed an iron to get the creases out of my dress and my boyfriend's shirt. Unfortunately the hotel didn't have one, so we had to make due with the room's travel kettle to try and steam them out.
Review 66:Our room was extremely spacious and newly renovated. What made it very special however, was the adjoining balcony and the incredible views over the ocean. I even liked the window in our bathroom which meant that we had a sea view while in the shower!
Review 67:Great on the beach setting with the Med within 50 feet. Center ofBordighera a short walk. Very clean. A few nice touches like Spumantibeing served outside on the terrace late afternoon. Management wascompetent and friendly. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but others atthe hotel said it was very good. Good value. Highly recommended.
Review 68:Location is excellent. Parking is handy. Lovely room with a great seaview. Very pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Our second visit-definitely not our last!
Review 69:Mattress on the bed was very hard. At breakfast, bacon was not renewedwhen finished.
Review 70:Great location, right on the beach and near the Old Town. Spacious room, good welcome.
Review 71:The bed was hard as a rock and pillows were almost as hard. A littlegive in the mattress would have been welcome.
Review 72:The location, close to beach and near a family member.
Review 73:Accommodation immaculate with large rooms. Excellent food at breakfast and evening meals. All staff friendly and helpful. Excellent bus service and train station nearby and would not bother to rent a car next time. A relaxing and superb stay and will look forward to visiting again.
Review 74:After having spent most of our vacation experiencing the hustle andbustle of Paris, and then Nice, we found the Hotel Piccolo Lido to be anextreme value in the quiet little community of Bordighera, Italy. Onlyan hour or so from Nice, we would highly recommend this hotel as analternative to staying in more touristry Nice.
Review 75:it was on the beach promenade with good food.
Review 76:Wifi very slow ,but that's the only thing I could fault.
Review 77:Wonderful location, excellent rooms with great views and great facilities.
Review 78:Perfect Location on the Sea and Passigiata with wonderful views and great caring staff!
Review 79:Great location. Wonderful staff. Spotless room.
Review 80:Nothing
Review 81:Great location right on the beach, friendly and helpful staff, spacious, comfortable, clean and well decorated room.
Review 82:The free wifi did not exist. Should be a 2-star hotel.
Review 83:Although the breakfast was good, the fruits in the were not fresh and were out of season
Review 84:The location
Review 85:The location is very good , the breakfast us good , suitable as 3 stars hotel
Review 86:Staff efficient and helpful. Restaurant good they were happy to cook to individual choice particularly if full course meal not required.
Review 87:Proximity to the Beach and the old city. Ease of access.
Review 88:Everything. Good value for money. Perfect location (you don't nèed to cross the railway line to get to the sea). Clean. Very very helpful staff!
Review 89:we were so happy to stay in this hotel.Everything was great! The staff, the place, the hotel building, the breakfast was exellent!
Review 90:The hotel has the best location in Bordighera and the staff are very friendly. No problem parking.
Review 91:Only 6 sun beds on the terrace.
Review 92:Very comfortable. Virtually on the beach.
Review 93:was all ok
Review 94:friendlyness and adatability
Review 95:Absolutely charming nights stop, would rush back, thankyou
