Review 1：Set in the mountains outside Sparta, an authentic stone house with the most wonderful view of the valley and surrounding mountains, with a crystal clear river in which the children swam in large rock pools. We had the most wonderful time here. Unfortunately it was only for one night and it was difficult for us to say “Good bye” to Nick and his parents the day we left, they went out of their way to make us feel at home- like family. Nick also left no stone unturned to resolve the problems we experienced with the car rental company to retrieve the broken down car and arrange a replacement. Thank you all very much. As a family we definitely return to Sparta and spend more time at the Knakion Guest House and to explore the region – perhaps next year after Spartathlon 2016. Review 2：If you are looking for a beautiful spot, with great hiking in the hills, mountain-lodge style accomodation, and healthy local food, this place is a must! The rooms, public and private, are clean and have great views into the valley, and it really feels like you have left the world behind here. There are some great walks and drives in the local area. Nikolas and his parents are ever helpful in advising and assisting you in your trip needs, and the food, which was locally sourced or home-made, was excellent. The key point about this place is that you need a car - Tripi is not well served by public transport, and so you need to rely on your own wheels. But if you have one, this guesthouse is stunning - as other reviewers have said too, I wish I could have stayed longer. And I will be back!

Review 3：It may be difficult to reach, but Nico will take care to phone you before and he will meet you and take you there, so he transforms a minus in a plus!

Review 4：Nico and his parents' great hospitality, the house is large, very beautiful and well cared in every detail - the breathtaking neighborhood on Taigeto's mountain, the owner cooked great Greek food for us and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 5：I had booked a deluxe double with balcony but got a ground floor with little patio to the side. I booked it largely because I really love a good view but the room was dark and no panoramic view (that's not to say that a view of the trees was bad). I was warned against leaving the doors open because of mosquitoes, but there were no mosquito nets. There is an alarm pretty much outside the door that beeps the whole time. I tried to sleep in the afternoon but it was impossible. I made the decision to leave. In fairness, I was offered another room (still not the one I'd booked) but my experience to that point hadn't been great. I was given a 50% refund which was kind (I offered the full amount). Not my cup of tea.

Review 6：The location is good. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The bathroom was lovely. The little patio area was sweet.

Review 7：This isn't bad really -- just persevere when you're driving down from the main road; it's nestled at the bottom of the valley.

Review 8：The facilities are fabulous and the host is even better, cooking food better than in any restaurant, and supplying wine fresh from his family's vineyards. This is an excellent place to stay if you are vacationing in Kalamata and eager of even just curious to get a taste of 'real' Greek mountain life. Also, if you are exploring Mystras, you can't do better.
