Reviews for Ostello Beata Solitudo
Review 1:San Lorenzo is a long drive to Amalfi and Positano. Even though it looks close on the map, the driving on winding roads is perilous and tiresome. Note that there are many stairs to climb to the rooms. Was not a big issue for us but could be for some. The internet was not great.
Review 2:Room was big enough. Had a small refrigerator. The location in San Lorrenzo is very central, and a short driving distance to the entrance to the Sentiero Degli Dei. There is a common kitchen and dining room you use for breakfast, and you can use it as well on your own during the day. There are a couple of cute restaurants a short walking distance from the place.
Review 3:The staff were excellent, all very friendly, and they often went above and beyond to accommodate us. Someone was available at all hours of the day with plenty of information. Paulo is probably the best host I've ever stayed with; he arranged rentals, buses, reservations, even drove us to dinner! As a bonus, San Lazzaro has some of the best gelato in the county.
Review 4:None.
Review 5:Beautiful location, breakfast was informal self-service and excellent. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Hot shower any time of day. Paulo was a gentleman, with lots of useful information to help us enjoy our stay.
Review 6:Only regarding the transport....which is too infrequent in my opinion, and the roads which at best are dirt track.
Review 7:The owners of the Hostel (Paulo and Anna) were very hospitable, friendly and helpful.....to a fault! The accommodation was first rate: a home from home. A shower room with toilet and bidet, always kept in immaculate condition by their cleaner, Elvira. The food was great, in date (fresh), there are a variety of utensils to use. With a large dual upright freezer/fridge to store items in. A PC, which can be used, free of charge.
Review 8:There was absolutely nothing that we didn't like.
Review 9:Very friendly & informative staff (owners). Great peaceful location with easy access to all the Amalfi coast line. Just a short local bus ride away from the start of the Path of Gods. Recommendations for dinner at the local Agrotourism should definitely be taken up, one of the best meals we've ever had!
Review 10:What I seriously dislike is the height of the stairs, 3 flights up big steps mainly is not easy and once I was in I did not much like going out again because of the steps. These would seriously impede I may stay in the hostel downstairs next easier on the body.
Review 11:The kindness of the people the fact you get your own breakfast together and you all with people and so get to know them - even of to start with you take about how things function. Fact you could make yourself a tea coffee etc when you wanted and if you wanted
Review 12:The facillities, communal living room and huge fully equipped kitchen and dining room and very aesthetic rooms and bathrooms.Paulo-the very helpful host
Review 13:Without a car I spent a lot of time on local transportation which at times was a bit complicated - but all in all it worked out OK.
Review 14:The owners were wonderful people who helped with absolutely everything. My room was comfortable, roomy and with a nice little balcony overlooking the church and little square. Modern bathroom!
Review 15:Nothing to not like! Well, actually, the WiFi was terrible.
Review 16:We came at the beginning of February and were the only booking,so we had the place for ourselves. We had a private room which was beautiful, comfortable and very well appointed. Paolo, the owner, is a very kind, gentle and helpful man! Every single bit of information was helpful and accurate. Agerola is a breath of fresh air high above the Amalfi Coast.
Review 17:Just had a difficult time finding at night in November. Roads in mountains are not lit. Go before it gets dark.
Review 18:The cleanest, most comfortable place. Way up in the mountains in Agerola. Do not do the drive at night. In the fall it gets dark about 5:30pm. I was totally lost but a nice policeman lead me to hotel. The linen comforter, sheets and towels so clean and crisp. The sisters are darling and so helpful. One sister speaks English. The kitchen, living room area are so comfortable. There is a computer to use and lots of books to read. The view driving back down the next morning to Amalfi was spectacular. Got a panini in town for one and half euros. Then stopped on way down to have lunch. There are a few viewing areas to stop. And the painted murals on walls going back down curving road very enjoyable for an artist to see. And prices for private room, bath, and breakfast very reasonable in November. Thank you again to the sweet sisters!
Review 19:We liked everything!!!
Review 20:We especially liked the owners and their housekeeper. They were so warm and so caring. Our room looked out on the church and the piazza - real Italian views. The accommodation was spacious and clean. The breakfast was wonderful with healthy choices. We plan to return next spring to this town and to this accommodation - we fell in love with the locals and the town.
Review 21:The only improvement I can think of is to provide more options for breakfast. For instance it would have been good to have had the choice of wholemeal bread and a healthy natural cereal such as muselli.
Review 22:This is a really nice place to stay. Located in the centre of the small town and close to the shops. The rooms are well equipped and tastefully decorated. The owners are friendly and helpful and there is a common room area with a PC and printer that is free to use. The Wi-Fi also works well in the rooms that we stayed in. There is also a kitchen area that can be used by guests at any time which is useful. Will definitely stay here again.
Review 23:No complaints! Accommodation was first class!
Review 24:This is an excellent place to stay, very well run, friendly, helpful owners, great for self-catering and wonderfully located for anyone who wants to hike around the Amalfi area Perfect family holiday accommodation. Good wifi in the communal areas! Great family room Helpful hosts Fab location away from the hustle and bustle!
Review 25:Paolo and his wife were extremly friendly and helpful, they provided lots of tips and tricks. The breakfast was heavenly and the room very nice.
Review 26:Cool air, relaxed feel, ping pong.
Review 27:An amazing place, clean, peaceful and beautiful. we had a great time, highly recomended!
Review 28:Great staff and large room.
Review 29:free style relax space
Review 30:The rooms are on the top floor of a 3 or 4 story building with a narrowstaircase leading up to the rooms. There is no lift/elevator, andcould pose a major problem for someone with limited mobility. The ownerhelped us with our bags, so this isn't a complaint so much as asimple heads-up. There was plenty of privacy in the rooms, but it has acommunal feel to it with a shared living room and kitchen.
Review 31:This is a neat B&B with lots of character and history.
Review 32:had to go to reception to use wifi.
Review 33:proximity
Review 34:Better breakfast will be good
Review 35:Sitting room was cosy
