Reviews for Richmond Park Hotel

Review 1:I often stay at the Richmond Park Hotel when the college at which I teach does not have accommodation available. Considering the area it is in (Richmond, Surrey), it is very good value for money. I find the rooms pleasant and comfortable. The ones at the front have a bit of noise from traffic, but they have double glazing, which keeps out the worst. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is quite good -- fresh rolls and plenty of cheese and fruit. The biscuits in the room are usually of a good quality, too! There isn't a lift, but if you ask for a room on the first floor, they will usually be able to give you one. The staff will also carry bags to the room for you. The rooms all have bathrooms, so you can have a soak. Some of the televisions have more channels than others, for some reason. The rooms all have wi-fi which works very well. I really look forward to staying there!

Review 2:Overpriced and not really value for money but typical for London. Small rooms, cleanliness could be much better and the hotel could do with a renovation. The rooms facing street can be very loud at night. At the weekend much street noise due to party people and traffic until very late at night. Very liitle choice for Breakfast, 2 types of cheese, one type of ham.

Review 3:Friendly Staff

Review 4:Good location for central Richmond. Basic accommodation but all you need. Staff very good. Continental Breakfast very good. Clean. No lift so not for you if you have trouble with stairs.

Review 5:In our bathroom the door hit the toilet so you couldn't push it back fully. The TV reception was so poor we couldn't watch it at all. Expensive for one night and only a continental breakfast the next day.

Review 6:The location was good for a wedding we had attended in the park.

Review 7:Cleaning of room not sufficient. Suggest that hotel run courses in English to help staff. no literature or knowledge re bus/ train/events.

Review 8:Beautiful decor and location. high view over Thames

Review 9:Lack if parking.

Review 10:Great location fantastic service river view. Only slight problem of that there's no parking but easily found parking in ncp about 5 minutes walk.

Review 11:The lack of Car Parking, although if you arrived by train it would be an idealplace to stay.

Review 12:We thoughtthat the Hotel was ideally placed for all yhat goes on in the centre of Richmond.

Review 13:The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The breakfast was very well laid out and offered excellent choices. The location was very good with easy access to the town centre, the river and the station.

Review 14:was too cold in room, got sick because of that

Review 15:internet in room very clean not noisy good breakfast best location best value for money lot of towels

Review 16:Prefer a rear facing room off the street, there is this choice.

Review 17:Friendly staff, easy location to the station, convenient places to eat within seconds of the front door with a good clean room.

Review 18:As the building has no lift provided. It's very hard to move the luggage from the ground floor to the 3 floor while check in and check out. Especially you have more than one lggage☹️☹️☹️!

Review 19:The room is clean and we got a fantastic view from our room. The location is very good.

Review 20:Dirty windows and very dirty window frames - when closing windows hands got really dirty! Blankets did not look very fresh - hope they are changed for each visitor. Outside not very inviting.

Review 21:Location good, breakfast good. Bathroom cleanliness excellent.

Review 22:The hotel is not prominent and for a first timer difficult to find (no GPS). There are no unloading provisions outside the premises. Parking facilities are not provided by the hotel and is problematic as there are no easy alternatives in the area for locating 'long term' vehicle parking.

Review 23:In the heart of Richmond, a lively, interesting area, and with good transit links to the rest of London.

Review 24:This is an ideal location in Richmond close to the Park and the walks by the river. Also it's proximity to the township and its facilities and eateries make it perfect. The rooms are small but comforable with clean facilities and an excellent inclusive continental breakfast is great value. The staff are more than helpful and as friendly and efficient as in any 5star accomodation. What more can you expect for this price.Nothing!

Review 25:Room a bit chilly, I needed to get an extra blanket. Dont think they turn heating on yet. too early?

Review 26:Location and cleanliness, attractive room, nice staff

Review 27:There's no lift and the road at the front of the building was quite busy and noisy when we stayed there.

Review 28:The location is great and the rooms are simple but clean. The staff were helpful but not available 24 hours. Breakfast was continental and there was lots of choice.

Review 29:the breakfast for me was disappointing . Also no provision for people having to leave early morning .

Review 30:The hotel was ideal for the purpose of the trip . And the staff where very pleasant and helpful .

Review 31:Beds were awful...old, sagging with ridges...killed my back! Loud banging of doors when fire door opened and closed it was as though someone breaking down my door. No slow self closing hinge on fire doors the big problem and no doubt illegal for fire safety!

Review 32:Clean and convenient

Review 33:Lack of parking space or even a safe and convenient spot to load/unload a vehicle. Noise of traffic and late-night revellers; this compounded by lack of air-conditioning which meant windows had to be opened for comfort. Presumably, most of the ear this is not a problem,as there is a form of double-glazing. However, for most of the year decent reverse-cycle air-con could provide heat.

Review 34:Extremely helpful staff; location convenient for travel to London by train. Also, Richmond itself, the town and the nearby river and park are good to visit.

Review 35:Location excellent, good value for money. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was generous and tasty. Room was small but very clean and good for the cost at the height of summer.

Review 36:Funny smell. Asking about breakfast time and being told it was 8:30. Shame we said as we have to leave by 8:30. Get down in the morning and there are people having breakfast at 8:15 because they requested it. Pretty poor not to have mentioned the possibility of having it earlier after specifically mentioning having to miss it

Review 37:Good location and a cost effective option

Review 38:Poor location. Drop off/pick up impossible. No nearby free parking. Noisy outside with wine bar pub. No communal area, hot room with impossibly noisy portable air conditioning. Double glazing ineffective.

Review 39:Friendly staff

Review 40:Great location.. Typical English B & B style Accom..comfy bed. We just needed a drop and explore place so did not need big room etc so would stay again.

Review 41:Tables were a little small in breakfast room but not really a problem.perhaps a little redecoration would improve kerb appeal

Review 42:Staff were very friendly & helpful.breakfast was plentiful &good choice of food.ideal hotel for a base while sightseeing.

Review 43:Just a minor observation. Would have like to have opened our bedroom window more. It was a hot day and night and it was a bit 'stifling' in it. it faced the early morning sun

Review 44:It was very convenient for our visit to Kew Gardens and well situated for the river and town facilities

Review 45:We tried to get the mould from inside the window frame of he bedroom removed but after three requests we gave up, shame as it was the the only thing that spoilt the visit to the hotel.

Review 46:We liked the staff and the linen change every day, both bed and bath.

Review 47:No lift so third floor a bit of a climb, some refurbishment needed

Review 48:Good central location, helpful staff, good breakfast, free WiFi, good local restaurants nearby

Review 49:There was nothing we didnt like. The stairs might be a concern for those with mobility issues.

Review 50:Very comfortable and clean with nice continental breakfast included. Suited us perfectly for a Mother and bride night before the wedding.

Review 51:The room was small. Many stairs to climb.

Review 52:We particularly loved being so near the Thames. We also found the service and staff very welcoming and friendly.

Review 53:The traffic noise is inevitable

Review 54:The friendly staff, cleanliness and the breakfast. Easy reach of places we wished to visit. Close proximity of places to eat in the evening.

Review 55:If you are disabled there did not appeR to be facilities for this

Review 56:Staff friendly and helpful hotel clean no frills but all that is required if you plan to spend time exploring the area

Review 57:Size of room is minimal and the 'desk' is way to high to make work with PC possible. Poor light in the bathroom.

Review 58:Very friendly staff, early breakfast on Sunday served with a smile. Room in the back is quiet. Good light and very good TV.

Review 59:the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever tried to sleep in. Each time the person next door flushed the toilet it made a frightening noise, as did mine! The walls are SO thin that I could hear every word spoken by the selfish, drunk couple who came in at midnight and ignored my pleas for them to be quite. I didn't get a wink of sleep!

Review 60:a nice, friendly, understanding receptionist.

Review 61:Car parking was ....seemed like it..miles away. Not good for my knees...infact it was a struggle.. if i had more luggage i would have to get a taxi....

Review 62:I liked the staff...and breakfast a straightforward continental. Nice

Review 63:If I had booked for a few days I would have wanted more facilities but I knew the hotel had everything I wanted for a one night stay. Exterior dated.

Review 64:Great location, staff friendly and efficient.

Review 65:Beds were very uncomfortable, mattresses definitely need upgrading - springs and noisy planes/traffic don't make for a good sleep! (But traffic noise is not hotels fault of course!) Rooms tiny, bit claustrophobic and not much moving space but adequate enough if its just a place to kip.

Review 66:Location and convenience for purpose of trip. Cheaper than other nearby hotels. Staff friendly.

Review 67:Sunday breakfast started at 8.30 so I was not able to take it as I had to be back at work by 9

Review 68:This hotel was ideal for attending a business trainibg course in Richmond. Thevlocation was excellent, very near the river, and a short distance from the station

Review 69:Our experience was good, but the décor of the hotel was a little tired and could do with some attention.

Review 70:The hotel was ideal for the overnight stay for a visit to Twickenham stadium tour and Kew Gardens. The staff were pleasant.

Review 71:Bedroom was very small, even though we picked the larger one overlooking the street. Had to turn sideways to get my legs between the bottom of the bed and the wall to get to the bathroom and the door. The mattress was very thin and you could feel the springs in it when you sat/lay on it. Double glazing stopped most Sat night noise being too disturbing. For the high price we paid it was the worst room we have had on our hols so far.

Review 72:The manager was a lovely lady, and the breakfast next morning was excellent. The wifi was also very good, and we were not charged.

Review 73:I travelled by car so it was difficult to park. I did manage to find a space but needed to leave earlier than intended in order to avoid a parking fine.

Review 74:This very small but friendly hotel is in a good central location in Richmond. It offers good value for money & I understand it has many regular guests.

Review 75:Doors slammed a lot during the night (guests' lack of consideration rather than a 'negative' toward the hotel itself!)

Review 76:Good-sized room, very clean, generous tea and coffee (and biscuits!) in room, civilised breakfast and check in/out times.

Review 77:On Saturday I was 20 minutes late for breakfast and I was bluntly refused one by the staff. Even though there were still dirty dishes covered the tables and people sitting. However, the bouffet counter was wiped clean. Considering the rate of payment and the fact that I had stayed for 7 nights I think that was unacceptable to say the least.

Review 78:I like the room I stayed in. It is of a good size, overlooking quiet cortyard, cosy and clean with a good selection of teas. The manager is very friendly and hellpful.

Review 79:No parking. Managed to find NCP carpark within 10 minutes walk. Reasonable cost of £14.70 for overnight.

Review 80:Great position for our trip to Twickenham. Was in walking in distance. Great spot for restaurants, pubs, entertainment. Suited our purposes.

Review 81:Very old and tired furnishings and interior decor. The mattress was unbelievably uncomfortable and looked as old as the building. Breakfast dishes still bit cleared by 1330 even though breakfast had stopped being served at 1030. A lot of noise, both from the toilet everytime it was flushed and from fellow travellers coming and goings.

Review 82:Good location to visit Richmond and surrounding area.

Review 83:Room quite small when you have a cot in it, no offer of help up the stairs with bags and buggy.

Review 84:Good location, nice continental breakfast selection, polite staff.

Review 85:Uncomfortable bed, smell from Indian restaurant next door wafting in the window (which we had to keep open as the room was warm), noise from other rooms (tv from across the landing and creaky floorboards in room above)

Review 86:Location, continental breakfast, free wifi

Review 87:Perhaps the stairs but no big deal we just accepted them!

Review 88:Friendly helpful staff Biscuits in the room Relaxed atmosphere at breakfast and wonderful toast!

Review 89:I cannot say too much as hubby was unwell, nothing to do with hotel, and we only stayed one night, didnt have breakfast. But the staff were excellent, very helpful.

Review 90:Maybe some of the tables for breakfast were a shy too small for all the things that had to go on it. ie toast, cereal, tea pots etc. But that is the least of our worries as everything else was excellent.

Review 91:Excellent value for money, staff were so helpful and friendly. Room was immaculately clean and towels changed every morning.

Review 92:2nd floor room had no elevator room was very small for 2 adults Bed was very small for 2 adults

Review 93:Staff very attentive Very clean property nice location great breakfast

Review 94:Sleeping during the night the smell of canabbis being smoked was wafting through our room from some where and it was not a very good had to get up early in the morning to leave at 7am no one on reception to complain to and payed for breakfast but had none so don't pay for it if you not going to be there for it,

Review 95:The location was great in the middle of the town and great for the shops bars and water front.

Review 96:It was our choice to stay on the third floor but the stairs were quite narrow carrying our cases.

Review 97:Third floor room with good view of the river. Small but quite adequate and certainly clean. Breakfast bar very good.

Review 98:The TV did not work, the room looked in a poorer condition tha it was actually in. The place was in dire need of a make over.

Review 99:The location was ideal right by the river!

Review 100:tiny rooms - described as 'double' but bed barely that, Road noise Scruffy/dirty exterior to hotel No twin room offered On 3rd floor - no lift! No car park or even parking facilities nearby.

Review 101:Bed was comfortable

Review 102:Personally I prefer cotton to nylon sheets, but this is a minor matter.

Review 103:I liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The room was comfortable with all the necessities. The hotel is conveniently placed for the town and the river, and not far from the park and Petersham.

Review 104:Bedroom rather on the small side. Outside image poor, tatty building, in need of a paint. Next door to Indian and would have gone right past it, if it hadn't been for booking on line. Noisy at night from people talking in the street.

Review 105:The hotel had everything you needed for a 2 star property. Newly painted throughout, a small view of the Thames from the bedroom. Lovely pictures on the wall, hot water, comfortable bed, adequate breakfast, nice staff.

Review 106:I did not like the cleanliness of the carpet and the fact that reception closes at 10 p.m. and the fact that you have to pay additional 20 pounds if you arrive after 10 p.m.

Review 107:I liked continental breakfast and cleanliness and maintenance of the bathroom and the room

Review 108:It could get loud sometimes from the crowds at the bars in the neighborhood I had to use garbage can to keep the window open

Review 109:Very stable internet connection Very conveniently located - close to that Thames River, varieties of restaurants and bars

Review 110:No parking facilities. Clean but old.

Review 111:The place was lovely

Review 112:very helpful manager who was happy to accommodate us at an early breakfast sorry we forgot to leave the key but have posted it back!

Review 113:Nice breakfast and nice staff.

Review 114:Very clean; polite and professional staff; excellent location.

Review 115:Basic,comfortable rooms

Review 116:Fine as somewhere to lay your head for a single night. It's a small room and not really anything else.

Review 117:Lack of parking

Review 118:Location was good. Staff were friendly and very helpful

Review 119:I liked the fact that it was so near town and staff were friendly

Review 120:Out dated, simple. Needs total refurbishment before I will be back.

Review 121:Close to restaurants

Review 122:Very convenient for Richmond and very well priced.

Review 123:No wifi and the bed mattress was in need of replacing

Review 124:Location and the staff were very pleasant

Review 125:Offered everything required for the evening.

Review 126:No parking. Shabby little place. Tired and dated

Review 127:Great location in easy reach of station and shops. Safe to go out later in evening. Pleasant staff Will visit again

Review 128:Location Discretion

Review 129:The fact that I was charged an extra £20 for arring after 10pm (10.20) having been held up in traffic!

Review 130:Felt a bit processed on check in

Review 131:Nice and clean, good location
