Reviews for Vintage Hotel
Review 1:Very friendly & helpful staff. Superb breakfast (best hotel breakfast ever!!!). Nice and stylish decor. Very clean and quiet. I will definately come back if I happend to visit Brussels again. Strongly recommend.
Review 2:It is not a problem for me but for those who are less familiar with the place, maybe not so easy to find. Also there is no a fridge.
Review 3:Location. I know this district and for me it was not a problem to find my way in and out. Clean, good stuff and breakfast. Good beds.
Review 4:- The room was not properly cleaned for example we have found an opened bottle left in room. The walls were dirty as well, perhaps a refurbishment is needed. - Facilities and breakfast could be only described as basic. Extending the previous, on the left side of the elevator the storage room could be seen and accessed since there was only separated from the corridor by a curtain. - It took an hour for the central heating to warm up; there was an absence of a thermostat to control the temperature of the room. - The staff was friendly but lacking experience - except one case that met the expectations -.
Review 5:The location which was great
Review 6:The night shift reception ( exact opposite to the day shift one) could hardly be any more unfriendly.
Review 7:Really comfortable bed in a quite and clean room, close to the offices I had to visit.
Review 8:moquette
Review 9:position (very close to the metro and to several restaurants, in a safe area), Wifi working properly, breakfast (good choice of both seen and salty food)
Review 10:The shower too small The pillows were too flat, I guess that could be solved if I had asked for more pillows, but I kept forgeting
Review 11:European breakfast very good Helpful staff Close to the subway and tram The design
Review 12:Asked for twin bedded rooms, initially had room with double bed. It was swapped without any fuss though.
Review 13:Very friendly staff, clean and great breakfast
Review 14:on arrival no word of welcome from the part time? receptionist who was more interested in doing something else. otherwise day staff were more helpful.
Review 15:good location and very convenient for the Metro and work place. Room was OK, breakfast good
Review 16:The Vintage had a great ambience, a relaxed atmosphere and its staff had a helpful disposition. Location also was first rate. My first visit to Brussels - the Vintage experience helped to ensure it was a memorable visit.
Review 17:Internet was good when it was working well. However, internet went out one night but was quickly rebooted by the staff member. Another night it was very slow.
Review 18:Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room and relatively quiet. Good location near the Louisa metro station.
Review 19:One of the guys of the reception desk was so rude. He was working on the 7th September night and watching a football match. He was upset with guests when asking him for something.
Review 20:Small room but clean. Awesome bed.
Review 21:The location was excellent, close to the city centre, and close to a street with many varied restaurants. The lift was a bonus. Staff were very helpful and our room was very clean and not too crowded even with two large bags. Good shower.
Review 22:Location is a bit out of city centre to my suprise. Plus was a little far to walk with lugage from main station. So recommend using metro. Metro station to main center is 5 min walk and takes 14mins so not too bad.
Review 23:Staff very nice
Review 24:The WIFI was not working the first day and the staff did not seem concerned about that. I had to go to EXKI to check my email.
Review 25:Good location, 5 minutes away from the Louiza station. Quiet room and nice breakfast.
Review 26:Very nice location in the centre of Brussels, liked the Vintage idea of the hotel a lot! Do not forget to include the parking when making a reservation. Just a pity they only serve breakfast, I 'd liked to have diner in the hotel. But enough restaurants in the neighbourhoud.
Review 27:A friend who knows that we like small, inexpensive, non-chain hotels with character recommended this one in Brussels. The décor made us smile and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were pretty basic, but they were clean and had everything we needed; we didn't intend to spend much time in the room anyway. The included breakfast was a pleasant surprise; continental, but with a broad selection of breads, cereals, meats, cheeses, and fruit. The location near Place Louise put us close to the metro, trams and buses, but we chose to walk and take in some of the neighborhoods. The hotel is 20-30 minutes walk from the Grand Place in one direction and 20-30 minutes from the parliament buildings in another, with lots to look at along the way. There are shops and restaurants a block away and a well-stocked deli on the corner. A plus: it is a 10-euro taxi ride from the Midi railroad station.
Review 28:The staff does not speak Dutch, which isn't that surprising since bilingual Brussels (Dutch and French) rarely speak Dutch
Review 29:We had a lovely stay, the room was beautiful (love the vintage interior) and clean. We both had a good night sleep as there was little to no noise during the night. The location of the hotel is splendid if you want to visit Brussels! Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety and choice.
Review 30:The hotel seems more along the lines of a backpacker hotel, rather than a true boutique hotel. The bathroom in our room was extremely small. There was no closet in the room, just a metal rack attached to the wall in the corner. Unfortunately, the bedding was the worst that I have experienced in Europe in a few years. There is black shag carpet in all of the hallways and the rooms, it looks so dirty. The breakfast, while complimentary, was very sad looking. All of the breakfast condiments and sides were served in little prepackaged containers. The pastries did not seem fresh in our opinion. There was only one kind of soap that was called an "All over Shampoo" in the shower. I was very excited to stay at the Vintage Hotel because the pictures of it made it look trendy and fun; however, we will not be staying here again.
Review 31:We loved the location of the hotel and the public spaces. The downstairs lobby and courtyard are fun to have a drink in. The building is beautiful from the outside.
Review 32:Breakfast had no hot food and the rooms are pretty small. I had lot of luggage and I asked for a bigger room which was luckily available. They were kind enough to shift me to the room.
Review 33:Location and the ambience. Very helpful staff
Review 34:The wifi was a bit spotty(but who cares?)
Review 35:Everything. The staff was great, the hotel was really cozy. We would really like to return. And the placement of the hotel is really good.
Review 36:The air con system was not set up properly so it belched hot air into room from the back the same time as it was blowing out cold air.
Review 37:The breakfasts, the 80s decor and the gloriously comfortable beds
Review 38:The staff never offered to help with bags, the rooms were very small, as were the bathrooms, and the products provided were minimal. If you are trying to do Brussels on the cheap this is satisfactory but certainly not anything fancy. It's basic amenities and nothing more.
Review 39:The lobby is well decorated and the patio is lovely. The location was convenient.
Review 40:Maybe some scrambled eggs at breakfast? Otherwise was a good spread for continental breakfast.
Review 41:I was on a business trip and left my booking to the last minute. However this made a nice change!
Review 42:The breakfast was a little overly crowded, and they weren't veryspeedy about refilling the coffee or hot water for the tea, so perhapsthey should hire one extra person for the breakfast staff on busy days.
Review 43:What a groovy hotel! The room (42) was much more spacious than itappeared in photographs, and also much nicer as well! The common areaswere also quite nice. Free Wifi is always great, and the breakfast hadnice pastries & cheese. I loved the shag carpet in the room andthe bathtub!
Review 44:size of room, and to many steps to access. there was a problem with the wifi that did not work between 18:00 and the morning after, but it was fixed promptly
Review 45:Position and vicinity to a restaurants and bars area
Review 46:Nothing much though the breakfast options can be improved
Review 47:The deco is unique and contributes well to one's sense of rest. The place is quiet one won't believe it is just a few minutes walk from the burstling Louise station. It's 10-15 minutes walk to the centre and with direct connection to Brussels midi train station and to the airport. The host are quiet welcoming.
Review 48:A small hotel of character with quirky, quality decor set off perfectly by excellent helpful & friendly staff. So good to stay somewhere memorable after so many faceless soulless Brussels hotels...
Review 49:We realy enjoy our staing at the hotel - friendly staff, nice rooms, good Wi-Fi, good location. We 've spent lovely time dicovering Brussel with Vintage Hotel.Nice area .
Review 50:shower cabin was a bit small, breakfast ends at 10.30, from 10.10h onwards staff started to take away everything. at 10.30h nothing was left over. was a bit of a pitty as well as they created a slightly hectical atmosphere so you could not really enjoy the breakfast. breakfast itself was nice (good quality, fresh orange juice etc)
Review 51:Good location, easy parking either in the garage opposite side or on the avenue/boulevard around the corner. friendly staff, nice room, would have loved to taste the wine, easy checkin and checkout
Review 52:More pillows are needed and lights are very dim.
Review 53:Staff, clean, they were very kind and gave me my room much earlier than the check-in time. Good location and metro is just 5 min walking distance
Review 54:Nothing really. But some additions would make it excellent such as more pillows in the room, more effective lighting of the room and add more variety to the breakfast.
Review 55:Neighbourhood filled with shops, food places/restaurants, metro station 5 min walking distance. Clean hotel. Fair breakfast (juices, tea, cereals, packed jams/honey..., selection of tea, vienoiseries/bread...). Staff are excellent, friendly and smiley.
Review 56:The room looked smaller than 20 m2, as indicated in the reservation. Don't expect many complimentary products in the room, besides the shower gel/shampoo.
Review 57:The staff is very kind, the position is excellent, the pieces of furniture are interesting, breakfast was simple but good and it felt just like being home.
Review 58:My room was a little bit too dark, only bedside lamps and floor lamps.
Review 59:A cosy and stylish stay in a good location, Metro station "Louise" nearby. Staff was very friendly, room was clean and the included breakfast was beyond expectations. WiFi signal was also good.
Review 60:Nothing - loved it.
Review 61:The perfect location (near Place Stéphanie, not far from Chatelain by foot, close to Louise metro). The GREAT & refreshing design. Good breakfast. Very nice personnel. Very good wifi.
Review 62:Staff really friendly & knowledgable. Gave recommendations, definitely try the 'LeClan Des Belges' restaurant on rue de la paix, 20. The receptionist told us about it & it was by far the best place we ate, only a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Location brilliant, we walked almost everywhere we wanted to go, a very pretty walk. Option of metro from Louise station as well. Hotel is just off Avenue Louise which is beautiful, designer shops everywhere! The area 'Sablon' walking distance (5/10 minutes) & very pretty, chocolate shops, cafés & antique dealers.
Review 63:Room could've been slightly bigger but it wasn't much of an issue.
Review 64:The breakfast was simple but good, with great bread -that fresh baguette with some tasty Nutella was glorious haha- and selection of teas and juices. Staff was very friendly.
Review 65:Only downside were the pillows on the bed which is a very minor thing. Only one flat pillow provided per person. 2 per person would be ideal.
Review 66:Excellent location. 5 minutes walk to shops, restaurants and metro. Very pleasant 15-20 minute walk to main sights in the city. Hotel was nice with quirky furniture which gives the place character! Rooms were comfortable and clean, staff were friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was excellent.
Review 67:Nothing to complain about!
Review 68:Nice vintage style in the hotel. Very quiet neighbourhood, though close to Louise and metro station. Breakfast was fine and there is a nice atmosphere in the hotel, very friendly staff.
Review 69:It's a nice hotel with a very cool decoration & atmosphere. The room and the neighbourood were really quiet, the bed was a pure confortably pleasure ! Helpful service, fine breakfast. Very good stay !
Review 70:Location was great close to bars and restaurants. Easy to reach from Eurostar Terminal. Staff were helpful and polite. Place was clean and had everything you might need. Good value for money. I would definitely stay again.
Review 71:- The rooms are a pretty basic and look much cheaper than expected. Most of the vintage stuff is replica. - The bathroom had a bit of a smell. - Very basic breakfast. - Parking could be a problem. Parking was full. There's a public parking right across the hotel that closes during bank holidays... which is kind of strange.
Review 72:The beds are comfy and the staff is friendly.
Review 73:a bit out of town, the top floor of the hotel had some steps to climb - the lift didn't reach them but this wasn't pointed out to the older members of our group
Review 74:Stylish hotel - decent bathroom with a good powerful shower and the price was very good, close to transport links and shops/restaurants, very pleasant staff and the breakfast was good
Review 75:Nothing?
Review 76:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms a reasonable size. Good quality breakfast. Clean throughout. No fuss free wi-Fi. Good location for teams, buses and metro. Local cafes very handy.
Review 77:Noise was the main problem: Thin walls (a baby crying in the building next door woke me up a few times), and I couldn't find any heating controls so had to open my window (in late October) and got woken by morning street rubbish collections.
Review 78:Clean, interesting decor, good location, friendly and helpful staff, comparatively good value (for Brussels- which generally isn't very good hotel value).
Review 79:WiFi in the room didn't work; There is no need for so much space in the bathroom - looks very clinical. More space in the room, e.g. for a desk, would have been much more useful.
Review 80:Friendly staff, nice building and interior decoration, good quality breakfast, our room had a large terrace but unfortunately we couldn't enjoy it because of the rain.
Review 81:Lovely location, friendly staff, good continental breakfast. Free small bottle of water left in the room on the first night. Nice and clean place :)
Review 82:The hotel was very warm at night. Breakfast was very busy as the buffet area was small but it didn't bother us.
Review 83:The hotel was not more than 10 mins walk from the 'Louise' metro station. It was also close to some lovely restaurants and a small supermarket. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were always available if you had an issue or needed directions. The free wi-fi was really good. The rooms themselves were clean and maintained well. Good place to stay if you are on a short trip. Beds were actually comfy which doesn't often happen! Extra pillows were available by asking reception. Breakfast time was very busy but there was a lot to choose from including Gluten-free cereal! That rarely happens!! Decor was fabulous, very retro. Just a really lovely place to stay!
Review 84:nothing
Review 85:Friendly staff charming hotel (the pictures you see on their website accurately reflect what you'll see) convenient location (restaurants and grocery stores around the corner, 20 mins from city center, close to Brussels Midi train station)
Review 86:Nothing really
Review 87:Very helpful staff who went out of their way to help and good location. The themed rooms were decorated well and very clean. A really good hotel for the price. Would definitely book again.
Review 88:- Breakfast: not fried dishes
Review 89:- Location (10/10): Metro (3 stops to Railway Station du Midi) - City center (20 minuts walking) -5 minuts walking to restaurants, supermarkets and boutiques. - Breakfast (9/10): Very good breakfast but not fried dishes and eggs. -Staff (10/10): very warm, helpful and friendly
Review 90:The location of the hotel is very good, in a safe area, close to shops and restaurants, and 15-min walk from Grand Place. Metro just around the corner. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was quiet and the bed very comfortable.
Review 91:While booking it was blocked sum for first night, and it was blocked for 33 days.
Review 92:All was exceptional. I am completely satisfied of stay in this hotel.
Review 93:Fahrstuhl zu klein (3 Personen). Frühstück könnte mehr Auswahl an Wurst und Käse haben.
Review 94:15 min walk from center. Shopping area and many restaurants around. Hotel is worth to stay, good service, breakfast ok, rooms area clean and individually. Friendly and helpful staffs, small garden to sit in the evening.
Review 95:Nothing. Although a kettle and tea would be great in the room.
Review 96:Lovely, comfortable bed. Great room with balcony. Really bright and warm feeling the place with cool fixtures and fittings. Great breakfast too! Thank you!
Review 97:maybe my room is in the first floor and next to the toilet, the bathroom smells unpleasent
Review 98:llocation is good, near the metro station and only 3stops to the central railway station
Review 99:It's near the shops, I can hear the noise loading the goods at 5 am. No air conditoining, quite hot in Brussels recently.
Review 100:Staff very friendly. Good location, close to shopping district and metro station. The room is clean. Bed not bad.
Review 101:We had a towel with a hole, but not a big issue, everything was clean
Review 102:It is really close to the center of Brussels with access to public transportation. It looks really nice inside and outside and the people that work there are really friendly. The room was clean and the street was really quite, we were actually surprised how quite it was. Breakfast was simple but it had everything you need.
Review 103:Rooms vary immensely in size.
Review 104:Good location. Close to metro station and shopping street. Supermarket and restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Clean rooms.
Review 105:The idea of living around cool furniture does no pay for minor rooms at the atic (40,41 and 42 ) with minimal space for one person - much less two.Coming back? Too many ifs...Also the idea that if you stay until 1pm in your room and ask for it to be cleaned just to find out that there is no room cleaning after 1pm...it does no help for a relaxed stay. Then comes the WiFi/Internet access issue...it went down at midnight not to be found in the morning when cheking out...ah, right, not even credit card payment possible...but thery were nice to send me the invoice later by e-mail.
Review 106:The location is perfect for a weekend or business stay in Brussels, full of small ethnic restaurants around but also some big franchise names. Shopping is easy and access to the Sablon very convenient. So 5/5 for location and quietness. Staff is friendly and breakfast selection average to good.
Review 107:Too warm inside the room.No airconditioner A bit noisy (from the street)
Review 108:Located in a very nice area, near a lot of restaurants and fancy shops. Close to a metro station WiFi was very good Very good breakfast
Review 109:Critiquing at a high level : Towels could be thicker
Review 110:Uncomplicated Parking, Friendly staff, Hotel Design has a good atmosphere and is hip, Simple but good breakfast
Review 111:bathroom was really over-heated...with a window constantly open!!
