Pyrgos Of Mystra

Pyrgos Of Mystra descritpion
This small luxury hotel, built in 1850 as the center of society, stands proudly under the ragged shadow of Mount Taygetos.
The imposing mansion has been transformed into a stately guesthouse, in trying to preserve and reveal its seductive beauty and calming magnetism with absolute respect to the nature and history of the region.
Every room is a distinct, impressive stage design. Luxury, comfort and snugness all coexist in total harmony in every single corner of the Pyrgos Of Mystras. The precious fabrics and the colors that have been selected for the decoration revive memories from the town’s rich history.
Pyrgos Of Mystra is ideally placed for exploring the town, the Archeological Museum of Mystras, the Byzantine Cathedral of Agios Dimitrios and many other places of historic interest.

Reviews for Pyrgos Of Mystra
Review 1:We loved the staff, the wonderful location and the sheer quality of this hotel. After suffering much of the average fare that Greece threw at us at all the big tourists spots such as Delfi and Olympia this lovely Hotel was a breath of fresh air.
Review 2:A little tricky to find - get instructions before you go there!
Review 3:A wonderfully restored old house with a pretty garden. Very welcoming and helpful staff and a delicious breakfast.
Review 4:Wonderful calm and quiet location near to the UNESCO heritage old town on Mystas. Very helpful and charming family management. i look forward to returning.
Review 5:A little noisy with bells, but that was part of the atmosphere of the whole town, not the hotel.
Review 6:We had the most beautiful room, excellent welcome and warmth from the ladies, and were luck to have a beautiful breakfast in the courtyard.
Review 7:This is very much a bed and breakfast with no porter services and we felt staff were keen for us to be out during the day.
Review 8:The proximity to Mystras, the charming building and garden and the helpful suggestions for dinner.
Review 9:Charming hotel in the village of mystras. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms were lovely, and decorated to a very high standard, with very comfortable beds, and lovely bathrooms.
Review 10:Shower was small and cramped; no fitness/health amenities; breakfast was varied but nothing special; lousy WIFI connection
Review 11:Great staff!!; wonderful location; fascinating old building/lovely garden area; each room is unique
Review 12:Faultless in every respect.
Review 13:Excellent food, faultless friendly service, lovely rooms, pleasant terrace, spotless, charming. Really a pleasure to stay with them.
Review 14:It was a little bit hard to find. Maybe better signage? And the fact we had to leave!
Review 15:A gorgeous hotel! From the lovely greeting by Maria to the breathtaking views, the Korres amenities, the lovely decor and peaceful atmosphere, it was perfect. And did I mention the breakfast?
Review 16:The safe has to be secured to the wall (there was only a small iron box lying unsecured in the cupboard)
Review 17:Very friendly and extremely service minded owner and personnel. Native English spoken. Beautifull historical building and luxurious and historical rooms. Safe and quiet environment and location
Review 18:Nothing significant
Review 19:Beautifully converted large nineteenth century doctor's house in an attractive village, perfectly situated to visited the amazing almost surreal site of Mystras
Review 20:Huge blank here...
Review 21:Entering the stone-built mansion, the buttery smell of freshly bakedcookies took us by surprise! Mary was there to welcome us and make usfeel right at home... And what a home it is! Atmosphere from the...past, living history on the walls, huge garden and the orangerie isthere for you to walk and relax! Spacious room, excellent decoration, large bathroom (with world famous korres free toiletries there and thickluxurious bathrobes). Heating / airconditioning settings right hterefor you, plus satellite tv with more channels that you can actuallywatch. Free wifi (a "must" for our times!) is there and thespeed is ...high! Next morning Maria (yes! Maria in the mornings, Maryin the afternoons, both excellent in their job!...) was there to serveour superb breakfast. Freshly squeezed local oranges, rich coffee and avariety of goodies was there waiting (many of them freshly bakedagain...). Three days were not enough, but we will be back! What elsecan we say? Thank you! Andrew and Evi
Review 22:Signage in town could be better - drove around looking for it longer than I would have expected.
Review 23:Unique hotel, beautiful interior, quiet, wonderful breakfast. Vey engaging staff.
Review 24:Continental breakfast - plenty of sweet home made things - a bit lacking otherwise for this standard . Ensuite shower was small . Overall it was over priced compared to other places on our travels
Review 25:Very friendly and welcoming staff and very comfortable room. Tasteful seating area. Directed to nice taverna (Oros?) for dinner walking down to next village .
Review 26:The hotel was quiet and comfortable. The beds were great, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was very nice. The hotel was in nice condition and the room was beautifully appointed. It was very close to the site of Mystras and was the perfect place to stay if you want to visit there. The staff was very welcoming and very good to us.
Review 27:Poor value for price. Breakfast was not as good as the 55 dollar place we stayed the next night. The safe didn't work and one light was out. The WiFi reception was spotty. So not the excellence we had expected.
Review 28:Mary and Maria were wel coming and knowledgeable. They couldn't have been more gracious
Review 29:We didn't stay long enough.
Review 30:Excellent location with stunning views, value for money accommodation with beautifully appointed spacious and very clean rooms, warm and hospitable staff, and a traditional breakfast with local delicacies to top the scale; what else could one ask for?
Review 31:Not easy to find.
Review 32:Convenient for touring ancient Mystras and Sparta, lovely room, comfortable beds, great breakfast and homemade cookies, friendly and helpful staff, charming and thoughtful owner. We would stay here again.
Review 33:Walking into the room, you expect someone to redirect you out of the lobby, and you then figure out the entire area and loft are yours. Great TV and decent WIFI. The food... and more food after that, are amazing! This is the best breakfast I've had at a hotel... a dream come true. The owners are extremely accommodating. I would recommend this place over anywhere else in Greece.
Review 34:Slight difficulty controlling bath/shower temperature.
Review 35:Mary and Maria very friendly hosts and nothing too much trouble. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite which was very comfortable. Convenient for Tavernas in Mistras for dinner. The view from the Acropolis at Mistras is amazing!
Review 36:Difficult to find (sign is in Greek) Ask for top floor--heavy footsteps above us late at night
Review 37:Staff Location for touring ancient Mystra Facility is beautiful and comfortable Homemade baked goods
Review 38:food was great, staff really friendly and helpful. the decorations in the rooms, and around the hotel were fabulous. couldn't wish for a better place for our honeymoon.
Review 39:My wife and I visited Sparta and decided to stay the night here: it was a perfect choice. The two ladies that helped us on the one night we stayed were very helpful, Mary and Maria. They greeted us warmly and immediately showed us to our room. they gave us a choice of two different rooms which were both amazing and my wife said she felt like the queen of the castle with a large room and stand alone bathtub. Internet worked great, bed was comfortable, great staff, excellent breakfast including fresh to order cooked eggs. The sight of Mystras fortress and castle was visible from our room and the local restaurants were just a short walk away. I loved this hotel and would stay here again and again.
Review 40:This was our second visit to Pyrgos and it was just as good as we remembered. Maria gave us a very warm welcome, we had a lovely bedroom and the breakfast was as wonderful this time as on our first visit. We hope to return.
Review 41:Everything about the beautiful Botique Hotel Pyrgos Of Mystra is of superior quality and service. Exceptional are the staff and their professional and welcoming attitude. Nothing is too much and the Deluxe Suites and also Standard Suites are artistically and traditionally appointed. Fabulous open patio under shade to lounge in or have early breakfast. Views are of the base of Mystra and extremely quiet area on sidestreet off main square. Truly and great experience. Thankyou Maria.
Review 42:No restaurant. Not all the rooms has the nice view of the pictures as shown by booking.com. Very near the Center, but still not easy to find. We think that guesthouse fit better instead the Hotel.
Review 43:I like the personal. Nice, more than normal. The breakfest is exellent. They served homemade food from the local people.
Review 44:Difficult to find, google location wrong. Just head for the big red door. Need to head to village to dine which is fine in the Summer, though in inclement weather less so.
Review 45:Secluded property short hop from main square staffed by the two M's one of whom is from NY. Excellent friendly, knowledgeable service, in a boutique no expense spared renovation. Rooms large, tastefully decorated and comfortable.
Review 46:Pyrgos of Mystra was one of the most relaxing hotels we've ever stayed in. Maria and Mary were so kind and hospitable. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous. Our room was so spacious for the three of us. We will definitely be back!!!
Review 47:Nothing- perhaps that we could only stay for two nights...
Review 48:The bed!!! So comfortable. The rooms are lovely and the location is perfect for visiting Mystras and Sparta. But the best thing about this hotel are the lovely women who are there to ensure that you have a perfect stay. Mary is Greek American and was very friendly and welcoming. She was always ready to give advice on travel questions. Maria- who is on the bountiful breakfast shift -is a treasure. We could have sat and talked with her all day. Greece is lovely, but getting to know her people is priceless!
Review 49:Maria and Mary welcomed us like family and made our stay the highlight of our 5 weeks in Greece. We couldn't have imagined a warmer welcome --- Maria and Mary epitomize Greek hospitality. The hotel in general, and our room in particular, was elegantly appointed and extremely comfortable; the hand painted ceilings and murals are beautiful. Maria baked delicious cakes, cookies and breads and made marmalade and fresh squeezed orange juice from the garden fruit trees. They were extremely helpful in arranging taxis and offering touring advice. The hotel was an easy stroll to the town square and restaurants and just a few minutes drive from the archeological site. The Pyrgos of Mystra is the most charming hotel in which we have ever stayed and our only regret was having to say goodbye!
Review 50:This hotel is a beautiful house in the small city of Mystra. When you arrive there you feel in a different Greece, for the landscape and the architecture. We've been welcomed in a very warm way, the staff is really nice and ready to do anything could make you feel at your ease. Rooms are beautiful and clean, breakfast is great, with many homemade products. We would definetely go back.
Review 51:Nothing
Review 52:Warm welcome, lovely air-conditioned comfortable room with large bathroom. A very good breakfast downstairs in the unusual hand-painted vaulted old wine celler. This may sound strange, but it is beautiful. The place has a period feel to it but is very clean and luxurious.
Review 53:Everything about our stay in this lovely mansion was top-notch! The rooms and gardens are gorgeous and comfortable, the staff is extremely solicitous and helpful, and the breakfasts are divine.
Review 54:The location and directions on Google Maps is incorrect. It shows you turning right off the main road from Sparti so we had a horrible time finding it. They need to put the correct directions on their web page.
Review 55:The hostesses Mary and Maria were among the most hospitable anywhere. The old restored mansion is lovely -- and very quiet!
Review 56:Nothing!
Review 57:The service very friendly, helpful and smiley Vers good breakfast with homemade products.
Review 58:Beautiful inn in a beautiful home in a wonderful location on the edge of the village of Mystras. Wonderful welcoming staff.

Review 76:A bit tricky to find. Expensive for what you get
Review 77:It was beautifully decorated. Very quaint and interesting
Review 78:poor indication of the location
Review 79:practically everythink
Review 80:The room.
Review 81:The shower in the bath
Review 82:Mary & Maria with their constant attention friendliness and total hospitality
Review 83:Impressive welcome from Maria, very attractive building and courtyard which was much closer to staying in a private house than in a hotel. Comfortable bed!
Review 84:Our room was dreary. It had one tiny window and little light. The furnishings had seen better days.
Review 85:The attraction of this hotel is its location one kilometer from the ancient site of Mystras. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.
Review 86:This is a very beautiful hotel with a lovely garden full of orange trees. There is a wide selection of food for breakfast all sourced from local produce. The staff are friendly and always ready to help. Each bedroom is individually designed and decorated. One of the most Delightful hotels we have stayed in.
Review 87:Shower room a bit pokey for the standard of room, but good toiletries, bath robes etc
Review 88:Lovely warm welcome from Maria, and she and Mary gave good advice re where to go etc. Excellent breakfast Very comfortable room and bed with good linen. Easy access to Mystra and surrounded by the scent of orange blossom
Review 89:Wow! What can I say about such a wonderful and majestic hotel. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Upon arrival my spouse and I received a wonderful welcome from Mary and Maria, our gracious hostesses and we were treated to delicious pastries before being shown to our room. Mary gave us a tour of our room and helped us get settled in quite comfortably. Later in the day we met the owner Mrs. Veneti who was also very gracious and made sure all of our needs were met. Everyone at Hotel Pyrgos Mystra is extremely hospitable. Breakfast is a lovely spread to help get your day started and everything is homemade. The courtyard is surrounded by beautiful orange trees where the oranges are picked to make the lovely orange marmalades, desserts and fresh squeezed orange juice. My spouse and I loved our stay at this hotel so much that we seriously considered staying an extra night. There are plenty of things to see in Mystra but even for just a quick get-away from the hustle and bustle of the city, spend a day or two relaxing at Hotel Pyrgos Mystra. You won't be disappointed. Hotel Pyrgos Mystra will definitely be our go to location to de-stress and get away from the city.
Review 90:The main drawback is that, although it calls itself a hotel it is more like a bed and breakfast. And I did not succeed in getting a good meal in the village.
Review 91:I was allocated a very comfortable and large room, The facilities were good.
Review 92:That foolishly I rhought 'Mountainview' would mean I overlookedthe Byzantine city of Mystra, rather than up the other mountain. Couldhave moved but our room was to nice!
Review 93:Loved the decor, home baked foods for breakfast, boutique atmosphere andvery helpful staff
Review 94:Please unchain the (very friendly) dog and let her be at the side of or at least close to your staff/guests.
Review 95:A wonderful hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and let us enjoy a wonderful stay.
Review 96:The breakfast ,the garden the bath cosmetics Maria ,the girl responsible for running the show was excellent She is your key solution to everything you need ready to meet your expectations and make your wishes come true With a big big smile she is ready to serve you ,to inform you to do everything for your pleasure Ask for her

Review 98:The staff were very friendly and courteous. The breakfast was excellent using fresh local and home made produce. Our room was beautiful and the hotel is a 5 min walk from the village. I would highly recommend this hotel.
