Reviews for Station House Hotel Letterkenny

Review 1:I was disappointed as I wanted to cancel 36 hrs before as we were both not feeling well but had to go as we were going to be charged the room price as we did not cancel 48 hrs before..

Review 2:Food was lovely and location was good.music was good

Review 3:There was nothing that really wasn't to our liking. Wouldn't hesitate to return

Review 4:Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Very helpful and friendly

Review 5:It was absolutely lovely from the moment we entered the Hotel we were met with a smile by reception, the food was to die for and the comfort of the room was also great. We were right beside the big shopping centre so all good.

Review 6:Does what it says on the tin.

Review 7:Good value, clean, no frills, no nonsense hotel. Perfect for somewhere to rest your head at night. Basic facilities, but its not the kind of hotel you'd have the need to hang around in anyway. Food in restaurant good. If you're looking somewhere 'cheap and cheerful' but not compromise on cleanliness and comfort - this is the hotel for you. Staff always efficient and friendly.

Review 8:A lovely hotel in center easy access to shops the staff were excellent could fault anything will definitely come back again if I am up this side of the country again . Thank u for a wonderful 2 days in you hotel

Review 9:No bad experience, but wardrobes and drawer space would be nice for longer stays.

Review 10:Great staff (thank you Robert for the late night biscuits !) , excellent food & great value for money

Review 11:Unfortunately the three nights I was there I didn't get a full night sleep as guests coming from either the hotel bar or outside night clubs woken most people up at 04:00 as they decided to have conversations, sometimes heated, in the corridor.

Review 12:Good hotel with good staff

Review 13:I didnt like the first morning as I was woken from my sleep at 9/9.30am to some random woman who came into our room and gave myself a fright as I was unsure who it was ...when we told the women in reception she apologised about some girl next door who was in s bad way and it was her who did try and get in but the door did open as it El as the light that woke me and when I screamed they closed the door ....qkkl

Review 14:Nice size rooms ...very comfortable

Review 15:All said above

Review 16:Hotel room was freezing cold on arrival and did not heat up till the next morning. Room card to open door did not work. We stood outside room for 15 minutes until we could get in. When going out and coming back in card did still not work and we had 2 get replacement which was the same. Would not advise this hotel to anyone

Review 17:My only disappointment was location - in as far as parking is concerned. I suffer greatly with asthma, and being obliged to park a distance from my hotel was not good for me. Closer parking spaces would be a great advantage.

Review 18:You have proper teapots which pour without spilling - brilliant. Staff were very pleasant and were very willing to attend to any request. Two ligjtbulbs had gone, and on my reporting this, they were replaced immediately. Very impressive service.

Review 19:As I was apart of the wedding when I tried to enter the room when pictures were being taken I was denied entry when several family members came out and tried to get me in. I was left out of family pictures. Very upset and disappointed. Three members or staff on the door started to get rude and I could see then laughing at me behind the door.

Review 20:Restaurant staff are a credit to your hotel. Lovely rooms.

Review 21:Hotel was bit noisey we could hear music from bar in our room . I booked through booking . Com rate £65 I was charged £66 I know it only £1 extra but !!!

Review 22:Unfortunately our sleep was disturbed all through the night with chatter from other residents all on our corridor which is the second floor. About 5am it appeared other residents were sorting out a bed sofa as it sounded like it was being dragged across the floor. Extremely noisy night with little or no sleep for myself and my husband. I did mention it to the receptionist the next morn and she said we could have been moved but this would not be realistic at 5 am in the morning. Noisy motorists all night long zooming up and down the street outside so overall not a good experience and we would have to reconsider staying here again.

Review 23:Bar man or maybe he was a manager not too pleasant. Went for breakfast at 9 and eggs bacon white pudding over done. Toast lovely.

Review 24:Hotel was clean and comfortable

Review 25:N/A

Review 26:Travelled with elderly parent and Adjoining bedrooms were great, gave us our own space but allowed us to keep an eye on him and make him feel less isolated from us. Good was great.

Review 27:The bed was very uncomfortable. The bar was too bright and the furniture there was very worn and shabby. I saw a waitress cough into her hand and continue to put cups on the table she was setting this made me decide not to eat there any more.

Review 28:The location was very good

Review 29:The restaurant shares space with bar area therefore can be a bit noisy. Can also be a bit dark.

Review 30:Good friendly service, room comfortable and warm. Happy to supply heavier duvet on request. Tv worked, wifi worked. Room clean

Review 31:The hotel is not actually on South Main Street, which is the advertised address. It's just around the corner, turn left at the roundabout at the end of South Main Street (a one-way street.)

Review 32:Good quality hotel in the centre of Letterkenny. Comfortable room. Room only option. Free parking in hotel carpark.

Review 33:It would be good if breakfast was included in the room rate in terms of value for money.

Review 34:Excellent hotel with everything as expected... Friendly staff, good facilities, clean and comfortable.

Review 35:Myself and my wife booked a room for our wedding anniversary, on arrival we received 2 single beds, when we asked about this basically we were told that's it, loud rooms all night besides, also nothing done about this, very disappointed and dissatisfied with our stay, WiFi didn't work also

Review 36:Location was very good, only thing I could say about our stay that was good

Review 37:The hotel location is a least 1.1 miles from the bus station not 0.1mile as advertised on Booking.com, and to get to the local bars isuphill however this is not a problem for any able bodied individuals.

Review 38:Excellent hotel , modern , clean great staff.

Review 39:Easy to check in no fuss, beds where lovely and fresh and clean. Room had a nice feel about it. The cleanest I've ever stayed in. Beautiful

Review 40:Price too expensive for this hotel.

Review 41:Very noisy, room just ok, staff friendly. Had dinner n a local restaurant called The Lemon Tree which was fabulous. I would not stay there again.

Review 42:Noise in the hotel was really bad all night between music and people outside the room. Accommodation staff were knocking on door at 9 am to clean room. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Bed linen was like plastic. It was too expensive for what it was, which is basically a fancy hostel.

Review 43:Location was good and room was clean.

Review 44:Breakfast wasn't included in our rate – thankfully. Possibly the grimmest buffet I have seen in a family/corporate hotel. It looked that bad, we decided to go out and eat instead.

Review 45:Comfortable room, nice bed, nice bathroom and central location.

Review 46:The wifi signal was very poor when you left the lobby area to return to your room thats the only bad point

Review 47:Very local hotel staff very friendly would recommend staying in this hotel will definitely be returning for a longer stay next time

Review 48:Warm and friendly staff, we were welcomed the minute we stepped in the building. The staff couldn't be more helpful and it was such a refreshing change to be greeted and assisted with smiles and genuine banter instead of the cold, disinterested robotic attitudes of staff in other hotels. We only stayed one night as we travelled further northwest the next day, but I could not recommend this hotel highly enough. Great food, spotlessly clean room, great location from what my daughter called "retail heaven" and the staff are the jewel in the crown of this wonderful hotel. We'll be back!

Review 49:Reasonable hotel, stayed for two nights in July 2015. Breakfast was OK but not as good as some of the others we had while travelling around the north of Ireland. Room was comfortable.

Review 50:Not applicable

Review 51:Lovely friendly, helpful staff. Room a good size and like the wet room/bathroom. Complimentary coffee voucher a lovely idea and we were very well looked after by all staff, thank you!!

Review 52:As a group of friends going out for a birthday party we are going to be a bit noisy. Because we were noisy we we're asked to leave and not to stay the second night. Not one of us got our money back or even some of it after all it was €104 per night. The manager was so nasty and would not speak in a *manager* way whatsoever. I'm so disappointed in the way we we're treated and will never ever be back.!!!

Review 53:The bathroom was the only nice thing as there is better lighting in their more than the bedroom.

Review 54:Wifi was very poor and bed very uncomfortable. Room was located a bar so I was wakened early with noises of staff moving tables etc I assume for breakfast as it was early morning.

Review 55:Staff v helpful and breakfast was simple but lovely. V good location to access town.

Review 56:Had an very enjoyable 3 day stay, food excellent and very reasonably priced, service very good and the most courteous and friendliest of staff, would definitely go back to the station house again

Review 57:Entertainment on the Saturday night. Just not my taste. Sorry!!

Review 58:Staff really nice and friendly. Room comfortable and spotless. Couldn't fault hotel. Excellent.

Review 59:The staff very helpful Clean and tidy with s central location

Review 60:We had a fanfistic Time the staff were so helpful this is a great place to stay and very central. We are actually going back again next week

Review 61:Staff are very strict at night regarding rooms. I wasn't allowed back to my room at one stage as someone had gave my room number and this then resulted in the room being searched in the middle of the night

Review 62:Hotel is well located in the town and walking distance to most places

Review 63:The above mentioned breakfast did not match up to the standard of other meals but that is first time it has happened us in maybe 10 stays of between 1 and 2 nights at a time

Review 64:Staff always friendly and welcoming. Food excellent we ate 4 times in total in hotel afternoon snack/lunch and 2 evening meals all fantastic. Along with 1 breakfast

Review 65:Hotel is easily accessed and has its own parking, some underground. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. It's a short walk to the town centre. Rooms large and comfortable.

Review 66:I was hoping to have a bath when I arrived. No bath in the room. I didn't like the wooden floors in the room. Gave the place a " cold" feeling. The room service menu wasn't up too much. I went to eat in the bar but didn't find their menu much better.

Review 67:I found the staff very pleasant & helpful. The bedroom was warm as it was a cold night.

Review 68:There was no non smoking rooms and the TV didn't work properly

Review 69:the hotel was very clean. room was large and comfortable. ate a outstanding steak in the depot!

Review 70:The hotel was clean it had a friendly atmosphere and despite the amount of parties and functions the hotel itself was peaceful. Great for a few nights away.

Review 71:Wooden floor in bedroom was a little strange made room feel a little cold. Car park is a little tight.

Review 72:Lovely polite staff, great hotel with great sized room. Location is brilliant as its central to the town and a wee dander away for restaurants and bars and shops.

Review 73:The bed was awful, very uncomfortable, and every time I turned in the bed the springs made a noise. We went to the Depot on our first night, and given a menu at the bar, we were unable to sit in the actual restaurant, but we didn't mind sitting in the bar. My husband eventually went to the bar to give our order, service was awful as was the food. We did not dine there the second night.

Review 74:Location of the hotel is brilliant and parking handy. Check in was very easy and receptionist was very friendly. Room was good size ,as was bathroom, and spotless. Usual things such as kettle, iron extra blankets supplied as advertised. Public areas of the hotel also spotless, and the hotel had live entertainment on at the weekend.hotel was reasonably quiet

Review 75:Could do with a little more space for storing clothes - no wardrobe, just a rail, and no drawer space at all.

Review 76:Comfortable bed, spacious room, friendly helpful staff, good quality food at a good price (lunch, evening and breakfast) in the bar.

Review 77:Leaving.

Review 78:Staff are very friendly & very professional at their job. The hotel is clean & comfortable with all the mod cons included. Good entertainment in the bar & great banter with the locals at "Liars corner" end of the bar.

Review 79:none.

Review 80:the staff were excellent . friendly and very helpful . food in hotel was really good and reasonably priced which explains why it was so busy . busy little town with plenty to keep you occupied and friendly locals .

Review 81:We found the rooms very basic and bare, wasn't impressed with tiny stainless steel wash basin otherwise we enjoyed our break.

Review 82:We found the staff very pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent good value for the money.

Review 83:Band playing function room till late - unable to get to sleep. Shower facility is old type and needs to be modernized.

Review 84:Good Location and parking facilities. Staff Friendly. Food ok.

Review 85:Staff left you to your own devices . No one offered to help you with your bags. Parking was terrible

Review 86:Bar was lively, great entertainment. Good night's sleep. Room was clean

Review 87:The wifi didn't work in the bedroom from the phone although we may have been able to ring reception to get a code but sure who needs wifi when away for a relaxing overnight :-)

Review 88:The staff on arrival at reception was very welcoming. The lady was helpful. The accommodation room was gorgeous and met by a lovely birthday welcome gift. The swan towels were beautiful.. The room was warm even when returning as you could leave one key in.. The showering facilities were spacious.

Review 89:Didnt realise nathan carter was in town think some of his fans came home in the wee hours of morning and there was alot of knocking on doors

Review 90:I never feel as if i get value for money as i dont eat the breakfast im usually a bowl of porridge sort of person the staff noticed i didnt have the full irish and i wasnt charged for it. I love common sence.

Review 91:Comfortable hotel for the business traveler. Good breakfast and lots of choice for evening meals if like me you don't want to head into town, Free WiFi too. Highly recommended.

Review 92:Not a lot of facilities in the room. Could only have one cup of tea because there wasn't enough milk. Shower and bathroom facilities were ok but could of been more equipt

Review 93:Cleanliness , comfort of bed , free wifi

Review 94:Rate of exchange in hotel very poor the rate of the room was 69 euro was going to pay in sterling which should have been approx £55.00 according to the rate that day but at the hotels rate they were charging £63.00 so I went to local tesco and got 69 euros for £55.00 staff were rude about It i suggested that maybe it was misleading to customers that u think ur getting a good deal this was without breakfast as well not impressed I wouldn't have minded so much if the staff had been more polite

Review 95:Location , cleanliness , nice bedrooms

Review 96:The heating system for the hotel room could have been better as the room felt cold when coming in from an afternoon or night out.We stayed in level 2 in a room overlooking Dunnes Store. I felt the room could have done with a bit more storage space for clothing. The room had 2 rails with 3 hangers on each. The room didnt have a wardrope as such.

Review 97:Location was only a few minutes around the corner from restaurants and bars.Car parking area was small but adequate with easy access in and out.Hotel staff were nice and friendly.

Review 98:WE DIDN'T LIKE THE FACT THAT THERE WERE SINGLE BEDS IN THE ROOM. WE EXPECTED A DOUBLE! ONE MEMBER OF STAFF, A YOUNG FELLOW WAS VERY RUDE IN FRONT OF YOUR GUESTS AND HIS ATTITUDE WAS UNACCEPTABLE.

Review 99:I THOUGHT THE HOTEL WAS VERY NICE AND IT WAS SPOTLESS, WHICH IS IMPORTANT TO ME

Review 100:Hotel where very poor to deal with after making a booking with 24hrs cancellation and payment on arrival the hotel rang demanding full payment upfront. Hotel was noisy and uncomfortable. Would not recommend.

Review 101:Location isn't bad and it was quite cheap.

Review 102:There is nothing negative about the hotel that I could see.

Review 103:The friendly staff who could not do enough for us. The food was excellent and therefore we ate both nights which is something I never do. Hotel is good for disable person in wheelchair and staff were more than helpful. Reception staff have a really nice approach and are helpful Caroline greeted us.

Review 104:Other guests smoking out of the window in the corridor.

Review 105:Friendly relaxing atmosphere with excellent staff. The food was excellent, a standard not often found in this type of Hotel. 3 Stars are not enough for this place.

Review 106:Only downside was wi-fi problems. A little out of the centre of town but I liked it and the fact it was opposite Dunnes Stores was a massive bonus, as my £65 excess luggage is testimony to the face. Overall a wonderful Hotel and I could not recommend it enough (but do not tell anyone).

Review 107:The female staff were amazing. A tos i was staying by myself, they went out of their way to help me. Management - whatever you are paying these ladies - it is not enough. They will be poached by International Hotels across the world. Always a market for friendly Irish Coleens!!!!

Review 108:Booked at short notice & was surprised at how reasonable it was priced especially as it was a Bank Holiday weekend. So was delighted to find that it was such a lovely hotel.

Review 109:Would have appreciated a mini-fridge. Staff could have been more friendly.

Review 110:Beautiful room with extra large window giving on the corner of the street. Large comfortable bed. Good walking distance from central street.

Review 111:room was too small for 3 people Also we booked late check out till 2pm, only to be wakened by cleaners knocking at 9.45am and again after 12pm ...

Review 112:stayed here a few times *brilliant location *reception staff great *safe car park facilities just get there quickly .....

Review 113:Traffic noise was audible. Also, my room was directly opposite lift, which meant I had to listen to the lift making announcements all the time!

Review 114:The room was spotless, the staff very friendly. Good breakfast, the food and choice was excellent. Wifi very good too.

Review 115:The beds were too hard and we were not able to sleep well because our shoulders hurt. Could not use wifi the first day. Notified the problem to the front desk but the only answer we got was "I will check" and no followup.

Review 116:Floors dirty, overpriced, no soap in dispensers, shower did not work, woken at 1am from drunk stag parties knocking on all the doors. Awful.

Review 117:Excellent restaurant, lovely staff

Review 118:Bar was a little under staffed I thought.

Review 119:Had a gathering of a few friends for my 40th, had a great night, friends had eaten there earlier & were really impressed with the food too.

Review 120:The toilet was very high! The shower gel on the wall was very slow at coming out and did not smell the best. The tv was very small and some channels stuck and would not work. The shower water was very slow at coming out.

Review 121:Great location. Close to all the bars and clubs. Also there is a Dunnes facing it if you need to pop out for any bits and bobs. Room was very spacious. Staff very polite.

Review 122:Arrived late into Letterkenny, and enjoyed the ease of making a hotel reservation on Booking.com while having dinner in town. The receptionist Carol Anne was excellent, friendly, helpful and courteous. Room was comfortable and good value. Very centrally located, great service.

Review 123:Nothing were very happy with our stay.

Review 124:Great location close to all the bars restaurants and for shopping. The staff were very helpful and friendly room was lovely and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.

Review 125:Had a very poor night's sleep the first night (a Saturday), due tothe band playing in the bar which was impossible to sleep through, 2floors up. The band finished about 1am and I had to be up at 6 thenext morning.. Would advise any light sleepers to check whether a bandis on if staying at the weekend. The other (non-weekend) nights werefine, though.

Review 126:Comfortable room. Very clean. Good food in the bar. Good breakfast.Friendly staff.

Review 127:The breakfast was quite basic but adequate after a really good meal in the bar the previous evening.

Review 128:The location and parking was excellent. The staff were all extremely helpful.

Review 129:Can't remember which of our 11 hotels on this trip had toilet brushes. It seems that the more stars the hotel has, the less likely the management thinks its guests are likely to need one! If this hotel did - well done!

Review 130:Convenient and easily found, with helpful staff.

Review 131:It's located in town & has wooden floors in the rooms so if it's a quiet night's sleep you're looking for, you may be disappointed (depending on how noisy the traffic/other guests are).

Review 132:This hotel was ideally centrally located for a local wedding we attended. Liked just about everything but especially the friendly, helpful staff. There's a free car park, nice bar/restaurant downstairs, tea/coffeemaker in room, safe, hairdryer etc. Everything we could have possibly needed for our short stay. The hotel itself is modern but welcoming. Our room was spacious & comfy. We especially liked the bathroom with walk-in shower & would happily stay here again.

Review 133:Cleaning staff knocked on the door at 9 am to check if it was free for cleaning, Hadn't asked for a wake up call! They don't provide an iron in the room. ask for breakfast to be cooked fresh, the self service is poor and pretty cold,

Review 134:We had a room designed for disabled persons and therefore there was loads of room. Staff friendly and good parking Some excellent restaurants in Letterkenny.
