Reviews for Lae Domus
Review 1:Nothing or yes, the holiday was to short
Review 2:The location; Atrani is a cosy village, very quiet. The flat is well equipped and comfortable, we had a fantastic holiday. And the 180 steps to reach the flat keep you fit
Review 3:Excellent Suite, very comfortable, newer and well taken care of. The host was very helpful and spent the time to show us how everything worked (kitchen etc). Atrani is a lovely smaller version of Amalfi and very close by for restaurants etc. Great view of Atrani and the coast from the apartment. Great natural lighting, every window with a view. Lots of walks and hikes nearby...
Review 4:Beautiful host Terresa, so welcoming and helpful.Met us at the bus stop helped us with luggage. Great position and central to the Amalfi Coast Lae Domus is well appointed. Thank you Terresa See you again!
Review 5:Wi-fi didn't work at all. We told Theresa about this, but she couldn't fix it. Be prepared to climb almost 200 stairs daily (we counted them) up to the apartment from the main square. First couple of days are harder, then you get used to it. We actually enjoyed it, helped us stay fit, but for elderly people or people with disabilities it would definitely be a problem.
Review 6:Best think about the apartment is the view from the small balcony. Worth mentioning as good things: very clean, very spacious, equipped with everything you need, location of Atrani is perfect for exploring Amalfi Coast. 10 minutes walk to Amalfi ("piano"), where all the SITA buses leave for different directions. You are right in the heart of Amalfi Coast and you get everywhere in max. 1 hour. Theresa even has a book with all the information you need about Amalfi Coast: places to see, schedule for ferries and buses, best restaurants etc. We were on our honeymoon and she even had a surprise waiting for us. Excellent!
Review 7:It was all Good !!!
Review 8:Teresa is a wonderful lady who was so easy to work with and was there to greet us upon our arrival. She even arranged for a driver to pick us up at Salerno train station at our request. The apartment is lovely with 2 spacious bedrooms with gorgeous views of the sea including a small balcony which we enjoyed for our morning coffee. The kitchen was excellent, well equipped and met all our needs. Yes there are steps....185 of them to be exact but then again this is the Amalfi Coast and the town is build on the slope but we enjoyed the walk through the narrow alley ways down to the town square. The beach is just a few minutes away from the apartment and it's so peaceful and quiet not crowded at all. We have been to the Amalfi Coast before but this was our first time in Atrani. It's just a 10 minute walk to Amalfi and close to the towns of Ravello and Positano. The Isle of Capri is nice ferry ride from Amalfi The town of Atrani is quaint with and the local people are so warm and friendly. Teresa introduced us to the owners of Savo and Mistral Restaurants and we enjoyed some wonderful homemade meals there and not to forget Gelateria da Marco for some of the best Gelato in all of Italy made by his wife Elisa Than you Teresa for helping make this a memorable vacation. I hope to see you again. Ciao Giovanni
Review 9:The 204 steps (yes, we counted them!) to reach the apartment. Anyone with a disability or out of shape would have a challenge with the stairs. But a porter was available to bring the luggage to the apartment and back down again for a small fee.
Review 10:Teresa was a wonderful hostess! She was extremely helpful with anything we needed and always so pleasant and provided some goodies for our arrival.
Review 11:Here there be bells...one church rings a bell every quarter hour, and another bell for every hour of the day and night. While not particularly loud, they are very persistent...and where there are bells, there are dogs barking. Again, not much of a hindrance, but... Here there be stairs too...a whole lot of them; again not a problem if one is relatively active physically. Hire a porter for the luggage, well worth it.
Review 12:From first email contact with Teresa to our parting goodbyes. The appartment was idealy situated for our liking: Atrani is still a real Italian small town with very few non-Italian tourists and Lae Domus is hidden up among the further houses. We are active seniors and the 250 steps (several times a day!) were not a hindrance. Conversely Amalfi is very touristy but is only a 10-15 minute walk away and after a day or two we had found our favourite baker, butcher, fruit and vegetable seller, cheese shop, wine shop, etc. The location is ideal to visit the coast, Capri and Pompei by ferry, bus and train (either Sorrento or Salerno). We chose not to drive and don't regret it. We loved swimming in the sea, the water is crystal clear and wonderful (early september). The appartment is amazing: clean, comfortable, very well appointed, very efficient and quiet AC, with a dream view. We give it the highest recommendation. It was well worth putting in the effort to learn enough Italian for the basics: it made the trip so much more enjoyable.
Review 13:That we had to leave!
Review 14:Lovely apartment with absolutely stunning views. The town of Atrani is beautiful, there are lovely restaurants in the square and nice beaches. The lovely Amalfi is only a 10 minute walk away, although we spent most of our time in Atrani. We were going to get a taxi to Naples Airport for around €140 but we ended up taking a ferry from Amalfi to Salerno, only €8 per adult,30 mins journey and then a train to Naples for only around €4 per adult,40 mins journey. The Salerno train station is literally across the road from Salerno Port and the Journey was easy. We only did 3 days in Atrani, not long enough but we will definitely return back. Theresa the owner meets you when you arrive and shows you around, she is a special and lovely lady, thankyou Theresa.
Review 15:Nothing.
Review 16:Large bedrooms, very nice view, very clean, new furniture and appliances. Very well equipped kitchen and good size dining area. Teresa the owner is a very pleasant and helpful lady. She is well organized and she told us everything we need to know about Amalfi coast. You feel her like a part of your family. She helped us with the parking too witch is a big problem. Also driving there is a bit of a challenge. Not a problem with the stairs, but all the Amalfitean coast is not for people with walking problems. The appartment is within walking distance to Amalfi and to the beaches. Many restaurants around. Water is fantastic but do not expect large sandy beaches because there is not such a thing on all Amalfi coast. There are only decent pebble beaches...with mountain view.
Review 17:The Amalfi coast is a real hell for driving - better take busses and boats. Not sure why it is so famous - too hot and crowded and there is not much to visit anyway...
Review 18:Spacious, well-appointed appartment, well equipped and with an excellent location. Theresa was a great host, she helped us find a parking space (on the main road, the appartment is reacheable by stairs only) and recommended trips and restaurants. We had a lovely stay.
Review 19:Thank you Teresa very much for your welcoming! We really enjoyed staying in your comfortable apartment. We had all we need and also more then we expected. We for sure will contact you if we come back again in Atrani.
Review 20:Not much I can think of..
Review 21:The views going to and from the appertment were breathtaking on their own. Quiet location, sheltered from the tourist rush of the nearby Amalfi but still a short walk away from it. Great local places to eat and nice beaches.
Review 22:The apartment is conveniently located in Atrani about a 5-10 minute walk from Amalfi. The beach in Atrani is lovely and very quiet, although we tended to walk into Amalfi to spend time on the beaches there. The people and the food are lovely - although we only stayed for a short time we hope to come back again soon.
Review 23:Minor concern might be somewhat small shower stall but lots of hot water and decent pressure.
Review 24:View,location,comfortable bed and the lovely attentive landlord Teresa.
Review 25:Driving and parking is challenging everywhere on the Amalfi Coast, so be prepared for some stressful moments.
Review 26:Great location with lots of interesting sights, beautiful hikes. The apartment is very nice, lots of space, Teresa was very eager to help us enjoy our stay.
Review 27:Not one bad experience, although I would warn non Italian speakers to bewary of the supermarkets in Amalfi. I was overcharged for a basket of 8basic grocery items (which should not have amounted to Euro 22). Thenthe cashier short-changed me a further Euro 10. She clearly tried tooutfox me and I pointed it out to her.
Review 28:This was by far the best holiday we have ever had, especially with a twoand a half year old child. I don't know where to start!Teresa, Teresa, Teresa is the BEST hostess you will ever find. Her attention to detail, her support and welcome, her patience, her warmth but with the highest standards of professionalism! She is clearly an expert in her field. Teresa prepared a basket for us with fresh Campania lemons, oranges, hazelnuts, cashews and pistachios and some savoury Italian snacks-finocchio). What a welcome. She explained everything in detail! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need- ground coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, etc. The fridge had little packets of juice and water. Teresa left a gift for my daughter in the bedroom- a lolly- great attention to detail and to the needs of her patrons. She treated us like family! The bathroom was well stocked, there were even an iron and ironing board which travellers always like to have. The bedrooms were large and spacious and the tastefully decorated. Lots of storage space. Atrani is quaint, picturesque, walking distance to Amalfi for buses, has two beautiful beaches, not overrun with tourists and gives you a flavour for the authentic way of life in a small village on the Amalfi Coast. The residents were all very pleasant and welcoming and everyone loves and reaches out to families with kids. All in all, this was the best place we have ever rented and it set the standard for future holidays. Grazie infinite Teresa per tutto che hai fatto per accoglierci. A presto zia!
Review 29:The wifi only worked in the lower level, but this could be turned into apositive as well; it made for the whole family congregating in thekitchen rather than separate areas and in bedrooms!
Review 30:Lae Domus was a true gem. We loved our stay there and in the beautifultown of Atrani. Prior reviews rate the steps to get to the apartment asa negative; I rate them as a positive!! The lovely owner met us after wegot off the Sita bus, gave us info about the town, and so kindly walkedus to the apartment. We found Atrani to be a perfect central locationfor hiking the trails and seeing sites a long the coast.
Review 31:Nothing. Honestly, everything was perfect. Oh right: if you don't like stairs, don't stay in Atrani or even in the Amalfi coast at all. There's no elevators around and it's a loooot of stairs to climb.
Review 32:I think this was one of the most incredible experiences I had in Italy. Staying in Atrani in order to visit Amalfi (10 min walk) was the best surprise we could have expected when we were booking for a place around. Teresa (the owner) was, hands down, absolutely amazing and very very welcoming. She gave us advice regarding where to eat and what to do in the area. She's honest, passionate and really patient even though we did not speak Italian. Would definitely recommend this place and will most definitely come back.
Review 33:We had a problem with the WiFi at first, but Teresa came around within 30 mins and sorted it out.
Review 34:It was a great apartment, and very spacious. It was better than our expectations from the website. Teresa was a fantastic host, and we are planning to go back in 2016. Atrani is a fantastic location, within walking distance of Amalfi (5 mins) and Ravello (45 mins). Though we admit not everyone would undertake the more than 900 steps up to Ravello. It is a good base for the Amalfi Coast if you don't have a car. Hourly coach rides to Salerno and Sorrento, and ferries from Amalfi to Positano, Capri, Sorrento, Maoiri and Salerno. And take the opportinity to hike up the hills! The views are worth the effort.
Review 35:Everything was perfect
Review 36:The apartment, location, view are absolutely excellent. Atrani is a jewel, I reccommend it and it is at walking distance from Amalfi.
Review 37:We had a wonderful time staying at Lae Domus. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Teresa was extremely helpful and we would all definitely stay there again!!
Review 38:If you don't like stairs, don't go to the Amalfi Coast. There were approximately 180 stairs to our apartment from Atrani's square.
Review 39:Lae Domus is in a great location. It is out of the main and busy parts of the Amalfi coast while still being very much part of it. Great views from the balcony and the apartment had everything we needed. I would recommend using the porters if offered.
Review 40:The best part was having all the facilities of a home in a holiday location but with the feel of living among the locals. The Apartment for 4 days was a 3 min walk down the steps to the Atrani village square with a few restaurants and shops but where the locals congregated and socilaised as well as a few visitors like us. Atrani is only a 10 - 12 min walk from Amalfi and in the peak Italian holiday month of August not staying in Amalfi itself was the best decision we made. Theresa was a good host and met us on arrival to explain everything and show us around and then left us to enjoy the place.
Review 41:The buses runs only once every hour.
Review 42:The owner, Teresa, was super friendly. The view from the bedroom was beautiful. Walking distance to Amalfi and also you could easily climb the stairs to Ravello (if you like walking).
Review 43:It's a very short distance from the beach and nearby amalfi Very quiet neighbourhood. Very clean, well furnished, amazing views from the terrace and windows in the bedrooms. Incredibly nice and hospitable owner. We absolutely loved the place and our time there. Extremely recommended.
Review 44:Many stairs/steps up to the appartment.....parking in lunga rossa was ok after registering for daily rates 20euro pr day. (a bit far away & took long time for registration)
Review 45:Very Nice appartment!! Helpfull, owner. Loved Amalfi coast. All in all - very happy.
Review 46:The steps! Too many to climb.
Review 47:Great hospitality, very nice apartment, well equipped, good views, close to amalfi town, great value for money
Review 48:The owner of the property is absolutely amazing, she helped us a lot with information about the city.
Review 49:A few extra costs like parking but still good value for money
Review 50:Teresa, the owner is lovely and helpful, very available.
Review 51:Nothing...
Review 52:The owner of the property is simply amazing, kind and helpful... Thank you Teresa for all...
Review 53:Perfect location and a beautiful view!
Review 54:Absolutely nothing!
Review 55:We loved the location, the views, the beach, the food, and the wonderful residents. Teresa was fantastic!
Review 56:Balcony could have been a fraction bigger with some comfortable seating.
Review 57:Location is excellent for exploring the Almalfi Coast.
Review 58:Nothing at all!
Review 59:Excellent value. Great position. All you need, amd fantastic host!
Review 60:Being in Atrani & living amongst the locals.
Review 61:No such thing.
Review 62:Excellent confort, exceptionally friendly owner, location well placed for trekking
Review 63:Everything was perfect. Fantastic place and apartment. The owner Teresa was very nice and helpful.
