Reviews for D'sawah Villa
Review 1:The food (especially Dinner) wasn't yummi. The soup tasted like water, a little bit more salt would've been nice. Location is quite far out from everything so you need transport. We walked to tanah lot temple and it took us just under an hour. Which is okey, but in that heat it felt like 2 hours. Facilities are a little bit old now.
Review 2:Beautifull scenery, close to a beach (a lot of trash though), Modern facilities
Review 3:D'sawah Villa is secluded and away from bars and restaurants in the Tanah Lot area, which is exactly what I was looking for. The rooms are great value for money, the peace and quiet of its location, as well as being really close to a beach (and a beach cave if you explore a bit) was ideal, staring out your window while overlooking rice fields is calming. It would be the perfect location if you wanted to escape to somewhere remote for a few days.
Review 4:Hot, small room, facilities incomplete, food is expensive and not tasty. Pool dirty and too deep.
Review 5:Near from beach and we can see the field from gazebo above the room.
Review 6:Staff did't speak and undetstand english (just 1-2 persons). Location had nothing to do with the description (no safe, no mosquito net, tv with just indonesian channels, rooms not clean).
Review 7:The bicycles should be better prepared (tires, height of seat, gears,..)
Review 8:Nice location in the middle of rice fields. Tanah Lot temple can be visited by bicycle from there. Great rooftop terrace for each room (even possible to sleep there in open air..) Very friendly staff.
Review 9:Just minor things, no hairdryer, no dvd player, no phone, no glasses in bathroom for cleaning teeth. Ran out of beer. Wine not cooled. Tables in restaurant werent dressed. Staff didnt have uniform.
Review 10:The location was awesome. The villa was gorgeous. Loved being able to go on roof and have an amazing view. The Spa was great.
Review 11:it is hard to find it and get to there
Review 12:All things r much nice than I thought. The landscape, the attitude of the staff, the clean room, and the equipment in the toilet.
Review 13:Nothing amiss here:) If your looking for noise and parties this isn't the place:))
Review 14:If you want a quiet retreat after Kuta/Ubud this it it :) Great location:)
Review 15:The shower was cold three days in a row. A lot of mosquitos so a mosquito net would be nice.
Review 16:Every villa has a private balcony on the roof and the view is amazing. On one side you can see the ricefields and on the other the sea. The food is really good and the staff are the nicest people I've ever met. The pool is really nice too and tge beds are comfortable
Review 17:Frustrating to communicate with staff due to limited English skills. Did not get picked up at the airport despite arrangements made. Tried to call them on the two phone numbers obtained via booking.com, but neither of them worked. Property could do with some maintenance (calcified shower heads, loose taps....). Menu less than exciting, better off eating at the nearby warungs
Review 18:Beautifully located within rice fields, staff is very friendly
Review 19:Needs a towel rack in the bathroom and a shelf to place toiletries in the shower. Only cosmetic changes to make this property an excellent place.
Review 20:Staff, quietness, pool, the upstairs sitting area overlooking the rice fields to the sea. A really nice place to stay.
Review 21:D'sawah Villa is located in the middle of the rice field and 5 minutes walking of the beach. The is a nice little temple around. The Balinese bed of the rooftops will let you enjoy the amazing views of the sunset and the sunrise.
Review 22:Just this miserable wall ...
Review 23:Loved it! Beautiful location among the rice fields, charming rooms and private terrace! Breakfast served in your terrace :) Possible to rent a scooter, 2 min to the beach! Amazing!
Review 24:Bed textile and curtains were dirty. Shower was not comfortable at all. Situated in the middle of nowhere and so without scooter or car you can't get anywhere (hotel asks ridiculous high prices for transport or day trips). Food is ok, but not great. Attention when you order, not sure they have what's on the menu. Staff is very young and not professional.
Review 25:View on the rice fields and possibility to sit on the roof and enjoy the view on the ocean and the rice fields.
Review 26:Could have been a bit cleaner, the wall indeed is a shame
Review 27:The villa is in the middle of sawahs and from the rooftop with a view towards the ocean. Loved the style of the interior.
Review 28:Nothing really was that horrible. Maybe just the "critters" (probably outside, but sounded like they were in the bathroom ha!)
Review 29:The pool, and the upstairs Day Bed, very gorgeous. Also the Swan Towels on the bed each day.
Review 30:the breakfast could be bigger, but you could buy additional food, so it was good
Review 31:very tastefully decorated villa in the midle of nothing, close to the ocean. the staf, bed, pool, the posibility of transfer...everything was great. closeto tanah lot.
Review 32:Shame they have put up a stone wall around the pool which means you no longer have a view over the rice fields like to the photos imply. Nice trees surround the other side though. No bottles of water available when we arrived from the airport.
Review 33:Location is good but you certainly need to use the driver or hire a moped. Only the beach and a couple of local shops are in walking distance. We knew this so it wasn't a problem for us. Natural beach which you will probably have to yourself. Nice pool and sunbeds. Lovely views from the day bed above the villa. Great breakfast. Very clean.
Review 34:Not very well organized transport services: Airport Pickup was forgotten and driver on the day of departure forgot the appointment as well and just arrived after calling him on the phone (1 hour late).
Review 35:Nice roof terrace and pool. Very friendly staff.
Review 36:No English TV channel.
Review 37:Nice food, bed is comfortable, view from window is open rice field, Very helpful and friendly staff. Recommend to stay for a while if u pursue being away from urban life for a break.it will definitely refresh u up. Also Near to Tanah lot temple.
Review 38:The undercover for the toilet is not good enough, as this allows some insects to get in to our room. However it was not a big deal for us Wifi has a few drop offs. can improve on the connection Aircon was not cool enough. Maybe the weather was really hot. The Gazeebo has some dead insects and dirts.. staffs can clean it more frequent. Location is a bit incovenient though.. if you don't mind walk like us then it is for you. near to Tanah Lot.. about 15 mins drive.
Review 39:Love the glass designs of the toilet door. Room is simple yet clean.. spacious enough for both of us. The shower is strong enough and has good supply of hot water.. i really enjoy my shower! Staffs are friendly and can speak good English.
Review 40:Other reviewers have mentioned "the Wall" (an ugly structure obscuring the view on one side of the villas) so I don't need to dwell on it. It's not that bad anyway, given the deck upstairs. The food selection within walking distance from the hotel is small, but, again, this place is off the beaten path.
Review 41:After the bustle of Ubud, we needed seclusion somewhere close to the ocean and that's exactly what this little hotel gave us. The open deck upstairs, with a view of the ocean in the distance, did the trick as a place to wind down in after sightseeing.
Review 42:Ants entered room quite easily. No hooks in bathroom.
Review 43:Views and proximity to Tanah Lot and Beach. Very quiet. Roof terrace to watch the sunrise or sunset
Review 44:The photos online need to be updated, as the views from the lower level are no longer of rice fields. There is now a wall just outside the rooms and restaurant.
Review 45:This is a quiet place in the midst of rice fields. In spite of the wall, the views of the rice fields from the terrace are still lovely. The beach is a few minutes away by foot and is a lovely place to watch the sunset and local people enjoying themselves and to walk. Even though English of most of the staff is limited, they tried to be helpful. Breakfast was good and can be served in the room, as can other meals.
Review 46:Love the place. Nothing I didn't like as no cocktails or a bar was a compromise I was willing to make to stay here.
Review 47:Lovely experience without the big price tag. Personal Upstairs viewing area was luxary with a near 360 view of rice fields, distant volcanos, sunrise and sunset and the sea horizon. Remoteness not for everyone but perfection for some that want authentic local beach, just 4 mins walking distance. Quality accommodation without lots of tourists. Food always good, though not an extensive menu and limited alcohol but supermarket in next town and taxi easily available as is bike or moped hire (didn't use this myself) I loved playing in the surf everyday with the locals - very friendly. Which inspired my to learn to surf :)
Review 48:Nothing
Review 49:First place away from the Kuta and Seminyak crowds and commercial area. Very close by the beach in the middle of the rice paddies. Awesome terrasses above the appartments and a very pleasant pool. The menu is pretty expensive but the food is nice. If you're looking for cheap food there's some very friendly Warungs and shops on the beach. All in all a wonderful stay in a beautiful and very luxurious place!
Review 50:There were lots of staff but they often stood around chatting etc, when they could have been paying more attention to detail on things like: -The pool needed cleaning. We came out covered in the dead bugs that covered the surface. -Our towels were not changed until day 4. We'd requested clean towels each day but were repeatedly given the same, dirty, damp smelling pool towels, rather than clean bathroom towels, which we had on the first (and then final) night. -We had room service on our rooftop on the first night. The plates were only cleared away on the last day, even though when we'd said we'd return them, they told us not to as they would collect them straight away. -Wifi could not be accessed in the room, just in the lobby.
Review 51:-Location was beautiful and views stunning -Close to the beach for amazing sunsets -A great, friendly driver, with reasonable rates -Free bicycle hire -Overall value was exceptional -Food was good and reasonably priced
Review 52:They've built a wall around the property which isn't shown in the online photos. Thoses who book a regular room will have a cement wall to look at. But those who book the suite will be above the wall with blissful views.
Review 53:Perfect location overlooking rice fields and beach. Splurge for the suite because it is absolutely stunning and worth every penny. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would defining tell go back.
Review 54:Everything else. Nothing luxurious about this place. In the middle of nowhere. They didn't have half the food on the menu and there is nowhere else to eat. I wouldn't stay again. I got very sick on my last day - suspected food poisoning which lasted a week. This villa is poorly appointed.
Review 55:The pool
Review 56:the staff cannot really speak english, it is difficult to agree on something and everything lasts ages - bring breakfast, prepare a bill, etc.
Review 57:Nice hotel with swimming pool in rice fields, you can walk in 30 minutes to Tanah Lot, beach is as well pretty close (but not for swimming, there are big waves)
Review 58:Nothing. If we know it was this great we would have stayed longer.
Review 59:The staff was extremely helpful. They offered us to bring breakfast and dinner to the patio. From the patio you have an amazing view over the rice fields and the ocean on the other side.
Review 60:The view from the villas is spectacular, right in the middle of nature. Very quiet, peaceful & relaxing. All of the villas come with a private rooftop cabana & daybed which offers an amazing elevated view over rice paddies and the ocean. The location is great if you are looking to relax in nature. It is about 20mins away from canngu.
Review 61:Shower is too 'sporty' for me with doubts on cleanliness...
Review 62:Bungalow with open air bed on top, amazing! Friendly staff, well situated as not too far from airport but in very quiet area with splendid views.
Review 63:It's pretty far away from basically anything. If you stay there for a while you gonna spend a lot on transports to go somewhere. Villa is nice but you can't be busy there for more than a day or two. Little things like gone milk to my coffee or the wrong drinks. 1 1/2 hours wait for the food to come to the room. Nothing big though.
Review 64:We felt like princesses when we stayed there. Really nice service which cares a lot. Awesome sun deck on every room and luxurious interior.
Review 65:- Nothing!
Review 66:- very helpful staff (or motorbike rental especially) - rooms very pleasant and no noise - swimming pool - individual rooftop per bungalow with large sofa to enjoy rice terrasses
Review 67:The New wall, but the owner will for shure make it beautifull like the rest of the accomodation. From the top restingplace, every room has one, the view is still fabelous.
Review 68:Setting = top. Even with the New constructed wal by the new to be build resort next to it. From top rooms you have a magnificient view over the fields and the ocean at 500m . Meals are good. Staff friendly and helpfull. Free shuttle available to restaurant of owner. Nice swimmingpool. Beach at 5 min walking distance. There are little tourists. Only surfers and local people who play football , launch kites in the air. (. Sometimes 4m dia.)
Review 69:The staff speaks poorly English and makes communication really difficult. Also we booked 2 villas but they have only one villa and that was already booked. The other rooms were really nice, but it was a bit dissapointing because we were assuming that we had te villa.
Review 70:The hotel looks amazing and the rooms are beautiful. The beds and bathrooms are really comfortable and the food is good.
Review 71:Lovely location, among the rice fields; staff friendly and helpful; far from the touristy areas and near villages where you can experience the local life.
Review 72:The location, the architecture of the villas, the top roof balcony is amazing and the pool, it's really close to the beach. Breakfast is really good also.
Review 73:Not really beside Tannah Lot as shown on the plan (30 min drive) so no nearby centers of interest (the only negative point)
Review 74:very friendly staff, lovely place, great views, spotless room, great value for money! the owner of the restaurant is 15 minutes by car, very good restaurant with Balinese dancers - beautiful setting. Would recommend if you want peace and relaxation
Review 75:Near from beach, the sunset is good... and i love the morning view from gazebo
Review 76:All the time had to fight with the ants. Breakfast not very perfect.
Review 77:Amazing view from mansarde. Staff were really nice.
Review 78:Hornets in bathroom, Food portions too small
Review 79:Very nice property in the midst of the ricefields, spacious room with rooftop pavilion
Review 80:The hotel is lovely, the rooftop is the best! WiFi was fast enough to use Skype on, the staff speaks English fairly well and are incredibly nice.
Review 81:Everything, especially the location, room & staff, the motorbike rental was also very helpful for getting around. Great place!
Review 82:Nice view on the rice terraces.
Review 83:LOVED the roof top terrasse.
Review 84:Perfect for newly wed couple.
Review 85:The rooms were fantastic, modern design and very clean located in a sleepy area with a plesent beach a short walk away.
Review 86:Best view ever!
Review 87:Very reasonable price for villas
Review 88:The space is reduced, and you can not see the beautiful sights
Review 89:We like the comfortable and lovely mini house
Review 90:Neighbours wall blocking view
Review 91:Beautiful and peaceful location - comfy beds and great pool.
Review 92:They are building a wall which spoils the view a bit
Review 93:The view is just amazing! We loved the private roof terrace
Review 94:Far from the shopping and night life areas
Review 95:Beautiful throughout Staff were all friendly and eager to assist with any needs or requests Food was outstanding Very near beach Great value!!
Review 96:Pebbles in the shower serve no purpose. We felt a bit mislead since we booked a 2-story villa but the 2nd floor was the rooftop terrace. Furthermore, there is absolutely no difference between the standard room and the luxury private villa, but they are listed as different options to choose from and the villa is slightly more expensive.
Review 97:Location! Very good location to relax for a few days. Furthermore, we loved the rooftop terrace. The swimming pool and sunbeds were good. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. We had dinner at the hotel twice and the food was really tasty and affordable.
Review 98:1. Non existant MANAGEMENT :-( :-( 2. Unfriendly/unhappy staff: not trained & not well paid !! 3. Poor & ridiculus breakfast: a rip-off!!! :-( :-( 4. Our villa was not cleaned at all in 7 days!! We had to ask for fresh towels and soap :-( :-\\ You'll be sharing your room with mice that offer you their droppings during the night... :-\\ :-\\ 5. The owner seems not to be caring... money is all what matters - you are $$ €€... for his secondary business... 6. IF YOU STAY THERE MAKE SURE TO BE INDEPENDENT - IT IS A VERY REMOTE AREA!! HAVE "YOUR" CAR OR MOTORBIKE!! ALL SHUTTLES & TRANSPORT ARE EXPENSIVE AND OVERPRISED. YOU ARE WARNED ;-)
Review 99:Please, make sure to read the "-" comments, tricky situations.. ! 1. Quiet - village & nature 2. Beach at 100m 3. Private feeling 3. Luxury in the middle of the rice field
Review 100:We weren't told to leave our key at reception so our room wasn't cleaned for our stay. I should have asked about this service earlier however.
Review 101:Well designed compact villas, loved our roof top day bed with beautiful views over rice fields and Ocean.
Review 102:Airconitioning did not work that well
Review 103:Beautiful location and resort, friendly staff, you can borrow their bikes for free to go to the tanah lot temple, ultimate relaxing
Review 104:It was a little isolated and a little quiet at times.
Review 105:Location, location, location!! Stunning location. Beautiful views and a stunning beach at the end of the street!!
Review 106:The service at breakfast was disastrous. We had to wait an hour always on the breakfast and drinks came after the food. Also the other restaurant service is qaulitatively and quantitatively moderately and completely overpriced for Bali.
Review 107:The D'Sawah Villa was just the right property for us to arrive, located in the middle of the rice fields overlooking the ocean (which is also only about 200m away).
Review 108:Only minor but it would of been good to have a little fridge and a safe, although saying that security where on patrol all day and night.
Review 109:This was a really great place to start our month in bali. The place is beautiful and everything that surrounds it. The pictures really do not do this place any justice. We stayed for 3 nights and slept very well in the comfy beds. Every morning we would wake up and walk along the beach then come back for breakfast. At the end of the day we would lay on the sun bed above the villa and watch the sun go down. I strongly recommend this place, such a bargain!
Review 110:If you want to go on a romantic getaway, enjoy nature and get to know how the locals live, this is the place for you. We had an emergency situation and the staff was so kind to help us right away. This is the ideal place if you want to relax and want to wake up in nature :)
Review 111:- no towel change - sometimes no coke, no bananas, no duck, noch chicken,.... - beach not so clean
Review 112:- Nice Place, silent far from everywhere - friendly stuff
Review 113:As this was quite a long way off the beaten track, you had to organise transport from the hotel, and quite expensive, also if you wanted to eat out anywhere else, the same, unless you had your transport. I would only stay a maximum of 3 days here, because of the isolation!!!!
Review 114:the beautiful surrounding of the rice paddies, the views were spectacular. Lovely sunsets over the sea could be seen on the terrace. Lovely quite location, no noise, and no annoying sellers around. You could read and relax by the pool.
Review 115:Very nice place amidst the rice fields pretty close to the beach. Canggu is said to be some kind of honeymoon area, and for this the place was very suitable. Nice stay, 5 stars
Review 116:Wasn't clear when we rented a motorcycle that they meant full day to be from 4pm till the evening but our interpretation and every other place is 24 hours. Anyways they allowed us to pay the price we thought it was.
Review 117:The view of all rice fields around and of the ocean. Nice pool too!!
Review 118:Food here is a little expensive. A little far from the village. Not very convenient.
Review 119:Very nice villa surrounded by green rice land just close to the beach. Nice staff! Good pool.
Review 120:The wi-fi signal is weak when we are in the room.
Review 121:I really enjoy my honeymoon on this villa...great location. Very suitable for people who need privacy. All staff are very kind...and the room is very clean.
Review 122:At night -or by taxi- it takes about 6 kilometers to arrive from Tanah Loth.
Review 123:This is an exceptional place, really in between the sawahs. By day it is twenty minutes walking from Tanah Loth.
Review 124:Restaurant at night was terrible first night (cook's night off) Later staff tried to make amends. but you are stuck in the middle of nowhere. Glass door to bathroom was loose and dangerous. Poor lighting on stairs, and no reading light in room.
Review 125:Design cottages in the middle of green, clean rice fields. Very comfortable beds , ´tho rooms have no privacy unless curtains are closed. Fantastic views from rooftop lounge bed. lovely walk to Tanah Lot temple, ask directions from friendly farmers. Be sure to walk 3 mns. to Kedungu beach and enjoy the local hang out spot, or maybe watch a religious ceremony. Surfing possible.
Review 126:Being with nature, flies were plenty.
Review 127:The entire atmosphere amongst the rice fields and with a view of the ocean. At night up at the gazebo, you can feel and hear the ocean, absolute silence. Staff were friendly and go all out to make sure you feel at home. Transport no problem since they have a cheap good driver to bring us around. Overall, a very good stay!
Review 128:Not much at all, but the Internet connection was poor at times and needed a few resets, and when you ask for it they do their best.
Review 129:The features like pool, sun beds, gazebo on the roof top, the bathroom, the bed were excellent! Even better the stunning view!!! It's a little paradise far away from busy Kuta/Seminyak! If you want some peace, stay there! It took us 3min by foot to the beach and 1hr through the rice fields and along the beach to the Tanah Lot temple...when you find your way it'll take only 25min...but don't expect a path or anything it's really off the beaten track and adventurous. Breakfast was adequate, the fresh juices are super yummy. The staff are extra helpful, polite and friendly, ready to go that extra step to make your time enjoyable.
Review 130:because of its location that located in the middle of paddy field, so you will see many small insects in the bathroom in the morning.
Review 131:I love everything about this Luxury Villa. The location, the rooms, the air, the staff, the food, etc. Sucha perfect place to soothe your mind and soul as well as body. You will find the perfect view when you open the curtains in the morning. Paddy field followed by sea will spoil your eyes from the moment you wake up until you go to sleep at night. Do not forget to took a swim in the evening. Because when you look into the dark sky from inside the pool, you will see millions of stars shining accompany you and your lover. You will always draw breath as admiration for the beauty and comfort provided by the residence.
Review 132:Very friendly and helpful service. Fantastic view on the rice fields and the sea. 5' to the beach,20' to the pura tanah lot by foot. Beach not overcrowded and most local people. Small but very charming hotel. We will definetely come back!!
