This beachfront hotel is situated in a 30,000-m² area right above Akrotiri peninsula, where the famous movie Zorba The Greek was filmed. It offers self-catered rooms a few steps from the sandy beach, with free WiFi and furnished terraces. A large, seawater swimming pool, a playground and a tennis court are featured.
The traditionally decorated studios and apartments of Zorbas offer views over the Cretan Sea. Each unit has a well-equipped kitchenette with microwave and fridge, and is further equipped with a satellite LCD TV. A safe, a hairdryer and iron are available. The apartments also feature a fireplace.
Guests can relax at the sun loungers by the pool and enjoy a drink, a refreshing cocktail or a Mediterranean meal prepared with fresh ingredients, at the poolside bar-restaurant overlooking the sea. Younger guests can enjoy themselves at the children's pool, while special events of traditional Cretan dancing are organized occasionally at the pool area. An outdoor chess board is also included.
Hotel Zorbas Apartments & Studios is located 6.8 miles from the airport and only 8.7 miles from Chania Town. The area is close to historical and archaeological sites. Staff at the front desk can organize excursions around Crete, provide maps and information on the area and can help arrange car rental to explore the island.

Reviews for Zorbas Beach Village Hotel

Review 1:water pressure rather weak. Badly need an onsite convenience shop as to buy food you would need a car, which we did not have. In saying that one of the staff gave us a lift to shops but you couldn't expect that often

Review 2:excellent accomodation, lovely staff, exceedingly helpful. Beautiful pool area. Just gorgeous

Review 3:All a bit old, kitchen poorly equipped, nobody is allowed to take own drinks to the pool which is a bit odd considering the apartment style hotel, way overpriced, a beer at the pool (0,5l) costs 5,50 Euro ! A poor breakfast is 7 Euro per Person, all the rest the same, way to expensive for what you get

Review 4:Nice location, nice an well maintained garden, fairly big room with nice views, you need a car, otherwise your lost! Internet is included and speed was faster then expected

Review 5:Wifi,no man things for cooking, just a pot.we have always to ask to the reception

Review 6:Position of the room in front of the sea, the beach with a very clean sea and free sunsets, cleaning service every day.

Review 7:shower space really tiny, water temperature could not be regulated and went from scalding to cold every few seconds! (but that's Greek plumbing for you!) great difficulty trying to check-in online for return journey; that service should be facilitated and undertaken by staff(computer & language problems);paying extra to print out boarding pass??: paying extra for air-conditioning when temperature is normally 30++??? These are offered as constructive criticisms and in no way as negative rants that in any way affected a magical stay.

Review 8:location beauty and tranquility, accommodation just right, provides all you need for that sort of holiday, warm welcome, service with genuine smile.

Review 9:Wi-Fi connection is very slow and unstable

Review 10:We spent here a fantastic week! The apartments are simple, but you have there everything you need (maybe except for a corkscrew ;), they are clean and spacious. The pool is great both for kids and adults, but few meters further you have a beach for your own (at least in June). The staff is very kind and helpful. You can also eat at the spot - the food is good, however if you really want to enjoy Greek cuisine I strongly recommend the family run Taverna Zorbas in Stavros.

Review 11:The pool area was a little scary with a toddler as there is no barrier at all.

Review 12:The bar/restaurant by the pool was serene. Great playground for small children. Very friendly staff. A wonderful place to chill out for a few days.

Review 13:It is hard to say. The only problem (sometimes) was the Internet. The WiFi did not work well all the time.

Review 14:The Zorbas Beach Village Hotel is a perfect place for families with children, friends or even singles. The hotel is situated in beautiful part of Crete, very near the sea. It is a clean, friendly hotel with very professional personnel. The owners will do the best for your happy stay.

Review 15:The shower design (curtains are short) leaves the floor of the whole restroom wet, and the hot water takes a long time to heat up. We managed though and still think it was an excellent find for our family!

Review 16:Excellent location, great value for the money, it's hard to find a place that can accommodate a family of 5 but this was definitely plenty of space! Very family-friendly - the kids enjoyed the playground onsite, the pool and the sandy beach! The kids definitely had great memories from it!

Review 17:Nothing really that we would complain about--except perhaps the 7 eurocharge for the breakfast they served was a bit pricey.

Review 18:Property is on a beautiful, secluded beach site and is kept up verynicely. Rooms are not fancy, but well-appointed and very good valuefor money.

Review 19:If they would lower the prices at the restaurant a bit and get a larger selection then more people would eat there. Instead most of the people staying there same time as us, including us, quickly found out that the taverna next door had a large and fairly priced selection. Very hard beds unfortunately :(

Review 20:The location was nice. I liked listening to the sound of the waves. Also gave a breeze which made it bareable so it wasn't too hot. Even in October it was pretty hot, about 27 C. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 21:Lady at the pool bar was not very compliant and not customer oriented. They told us at the reception that all meal ordered at the bar including breakfest can be paid at the end of our stay at reception. But the truth was quite different. We had to pay for meal every day at the pool bar.

Review 22:beautiful beach, nice swiming pool, peaceful location, nice kinder playground.

Review 23:Internet was not working in the room like they said but did have it at the swimming pool and at the reception.

Review 24:A great place to stay a week Nice beach nearby . Wonderful view close to Chania for day trip and other sites to Visites .

Review 25:the hotel is quiet and not very touristy, never too many people by the pool or on the beach. we loved that it is in a middle of nowhere and at the same time so close to the airport and to Chania. The pool is deep and the nearby beaches very nice.

Review 26:Extra charges to operate the air conditioning. Very low speed WiFi. Not allowed to bring food for children to the swimming pool

Review 27:Big rooms equipped well with, great location right on the beach with very nice swimming pool. The resort is well maintained and very clean. Stuff was wonderful, patient and very helpful. Children friendly.

Review 28:Service of the restaurant. They could be much more organized.

Review 29:Great food and friendly staff. Location was excellent, they gave us a sea view. Great way to wind down after a hard year of work.

Review 30:Breakfast a little expensive. The water needed to be hotter in the shower.

Review 31:The staff and owners were extremely helpful, the pool was beautiful, 2 lovely little beaches within 2 minutes walk, great food and comfortable accommadation.

Review 32:Recommendation - rent a car. Having read the reviews of previous guests, we did so right at the airport after arrival ( for the full stay), and it is essential. A number of historical sites and beautiful beaches are not far from the hotel, but reachable only by car. The kitchen equipment is rather simple and modest, however enough for cooking simple dishes.

Review 33:Nice, spacious appartment, always spotless clean. Beautiful pool both for children amd adults, with enough space and sunbeds on the terrace. Good food in the hotel restaurant. Beautiful sunsets from the terrace and nice walks along the seashore from the hotel. Very quiet, peaceful atmosphere make this place perfect for relaxing holidays. Friendly and helpful hotel staff. We would definitely recommend to others.

Review 34:Apartments 1-5 (in the reception building) are with the back view on the farm (though if you don't mind listening to dogs barking, roosters singing at 4 am, you should be fine :) Apartment 5 has a squeaky double bed ;)

Review 35:Location is fantastic for those who crave peace and quiet. The rooms are kept clean (daily), comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The kids loved the swimming pool. The beach is 2 min walk away, at Thanasis tavern (on the beach). The food at the hotel pool bar is basic, but very tasty. The staff is very friendly, if you have some problems or requests, they help immediately (changed our pillows, provided bigger mugs for tea etc.).

Review 36:We found the mattress extremely uncomfortable - the staff were lovely and changed it for a newer one on the first day but unfortunately it was still very uncomfortable, giving my wife a bad back. We had some issues with the air conditioning being turned off and cleaning staff leaving everything open letting the mosquitos in but the staff kindly refunded payment for the air conditioning that day and were very apologetic. On the cleanliness subject - the sheets you are given to sleep in and cover the bed are not big enough and there is no mattress protector. We often woke up in the morning to find ourselves directly on the mattress as the sheet had come off. We found this really quite unhygienic.

Review 37:The hotel really is just on the beach and the pool area is fantastic (pool is salt water filled from the sea each day!). Restaurant by the pool area is fantastic - Maria is a great cook and we definitely recommend her homemade honey raki! Staff were very friendly. Our room had beautiful sea views. Good little self contained studios - very good value for money.

Review 38:-Shower was too small -Expensiv value for what is being offered for breakfast if not included in the rate -A/C expensive and extra (8 euros/day) if not included in the rate -towels are not changed regularly -tv was not working probably -poor wifi reception -beds are very hard, not comfortable

Review 39:The setting was ok Staff was friendly

Review 40:The staff were very helpful with solving a flight issue that i had. Most appreciated.

Review 41:Location right on the coastline.peaceful quite clean and friendly staff.

Review 42:pay for A/C, breakfast was poor, floor were slippery and replacing towels every 3 days in a hotel near pool and beach

Review 43:Settings, place and location

Review 44:The view from both the room and the pool bar was amazing!

Review 45:Wifi reception was very patchy

Review 46:Beaches were beautiful and lots to do , zorbas beach appartments were a great place to stay in stavros

Review 47:nothing, we enjoyed our stay

Review 48:friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere and surroundings, great playground

Review 49:Wifi

Review 50:Beach

Review 51:There were not inconveniences

Review 52:Very comfortable, clean and cozy room, clean pool, lovely garden and reasonable prices, helpful staff

Review 53:This is the absolute top ! Splendid location and very friendly staff.

Review 54:Food in the village tavern is a bit more pricey (for Greek standards) than other places.

Review 55:Staff are friendly and functional apartments

Review 56:I would rather recommend this place for families that wish for a relaxing place to stay

Review 57:The bed

Review 58:Nothing.

Review 59:The staff was great and the view was amazing! Food at the restaurant was delicious and fairly priced. I would defininately go back.

Review 60:My 13 year old son and I stayed 14 days and we did not want to leave. The entire staff from the owner the the cleaning ladies were extremely friendly. Maria is a very good chef she will cook your hearts desire and bonus she uses fresh ingredients. My son got hurt on one of the activities and the hotel manager George took time out off his day to bandage up his knee not once but 3 times. When we wanted to go on an excursion we would go to the office and the reservations were made for us. The office staff was just marvelous. On Thursday nights the beach village hosts "Greek Nights" for a minimal fee we enjoyed some great food and dancing. The pool overlooks the ocean, beach was just a few meters from pool. Rooms were always clean. We enjoyed dinner with views of the sunset. If you want a resort that is family. Friendly this is the place for you. We are looking forward to going back.

Review 61:a family run hotel is the best because its their business.maria grows all her own veggies.you can see all this at the back of the hotel.free range chickens and eggs.the swimming pool is sea water, much nicer than a pool full of chemicals.

Review 62:The room was a bit outdated. Not soundproof with neighboring room.

Review 63:Location, integrated with nature, very nice children playground. Restaurant was very small, but food and service really good. Pool quite large and clean, filled with sea water.

Review 64:they are very friendly.. They have also a nice restaurant with a really nice menu tipical greek food .. The location was like a paradise ,,we just loved been there .. The guys are just lovely and tipical greek people ..we looking forward to be there to next time .

Review 65:Only one thing. Although we were in self catering apartments, we do like to eat out on the evenings to experience the authentic Cretan meals, wines and atmosphere, without having to worry about one member of party having to drive home. The on-site pool bar/restaurant indoor seating areas comprise 2 'marquee with windows' type of extensions, lovely in the day time and warmth, however, on an evening, especially when windy, these areas became uncomfortably cold & draughty for the older generation in our group. The evening temperature of course is low in April anyway, so sadly we ate there only a couple of evenings, we would have liked to do more evenings there, to bring more custom, for both the lovely, deserving owners serving very good food, and for our own enjoyment! We politely and with kind intentions suggest to the owners, they might like at some stage/s in the future, to invest in changing at least one, of the extension areas into a permanent build, warmer indoor eating area, especially for the low season, windy evenings, for the comfort of their older and less hardy guests ! A short term measure could be to provide attractive, warm colourful rugs (perhaps all same colour/design for a restaurant 'identity') draped over each individual dining chairs, on colder evenings, as some outdoor areas of bistros in the UK do? Looks good and adds to atmosphere! With kindest regards.

Review 66:So much! The peace and quiet, both day and night, far removed from commercialism and nightlife, and other guests' obvious desire and respect for this. We hired a car ( strongly recommend as buses are limited and a good mile, hot, walk to local mini-market and further to bus terminus) and stayed here for 1 week in April, with our 3 generations 'extended' family, this being our very first stay here. The location with lovely sea and mountain views, well laid out established garden shrubs & pathways, the generous sea water swimming pool and the bright. light, roominess and cleanliness of the studios & apartments. The sunsets. The very warm welcome especially to our '82 year old' Grandmother, who enjoyed being greeted (as resembling) 'the Queen' ( our very own Elizabeth II ) by friendly, polite owners & staff !The local Cretan speciality dishes cooked and prepared with home grown products by owner's family ! Thank you all very much! We will most definitely return !

Review 67:A shop on site is a must for food and gifts and you have to go along way to change money!

Review 68:The living accommodation was lovely, very clean, lots of space, great view of the sea and very peaceful. The owners are very freindly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. This is an excellent place to go if you love the quiet and great views, but not if you are looking for night life or entertainment! So if you are looking for a secluded out of the way spot this is definately the hotel for you. We will definately be going back!

Review 69:The appartments are large, v. clean and alll facilities are are available.Situation - in a beautiful well kept garden with Seaview. Breakfast for 6e is excellent - next to Pool, directly looking at the sea and small beach - very friendly staff. Food in the evening is also very good.

Review 70:Old rooms need updating. Showers need screens. Not adequate hot water supply. Very dry and dusty surrounds.

Review 71:Proximity to Chania and beach at Stavros. Availability of having breakfast beside large salt-water pool for small cost. Availability of free wi-fi. Large rooms and adequate porch.

Review 72:Mosquitos

Review 73:The area of the hotel is very clea ad is keeped in the proper order. The breakfast includes unlimited fresh orange juice only for 6 euro. There is 1000 sq.m swimming pool with the sea water. If you prefer you would have romm service every day without additional money. It is wonderful hotel!!!!

Review 74:There are few things, - you need a car, there are not many shops and taverns around, good beach is little far, the apartments should be renewed. Actually, it depends on what you are looking for… We wanted quiet place for holiday and we had it.

Review 75:Good place for good money value. We enjoyed staying in Zorbas apartments. Nice place for families with children, not too crowded and quiet place. Very nice swimming pool area. We would like to return back one day.. Nice stuff, especially thanks to Georgios :-) 

Review 76:Smoking in the reception. Slow WiFi - or to be more accrue no Wifi. Internet is available only around reception but it can be a bit crowdy there.

Review 77:Not so many people around. Clean and big rooms. Great quiet location. Two playground for kids and big swimming pool! Close to the beach and decent Taverna. Remember to rent a car as there is approx. 1,5km to nearest shop.

Review 78:It's not a hotel. These are exclusive* bangalows. They don't offer transport to and from the airport (we asked twice. Not even a word about such service). They offer it on the website only. Wi- fi is available if you pay extra:) But they don't inform about it on their website. Of course you can use wi - fi in the reception desk. The transfer is poor enough to get angry and resign. The service at the bat at the swimming pool was poor. We really felt bad. Though the room was quite clean. We had cooking facilities, a nice small gekon on the wall:), nice neighbours. It was the last destination on our trip round Krete. definately the worst one. Lots of loud rich foreigh teenagers, partying. Some nice families. Some good time. We were happy to leave.

Review 79:Not far away from Chania. Nice playground for children. Nice swimming pool.

Review 80:very good personal-the owner with his family is ready to help always. nice beaches very near and food what they serve is tasty and price is OK. the area itself is big and you can safely send kids outside to play.

Review 81:The apartments have a VERY OLD style. The bathroom was a joke. No space in the shower and a very old and bad courtain. The restaurant/bar in the pool was closed and there is just one restaurant near to the hotel, NOTHING more. NO cash machine, no supermarket and the bus to the city center have an awful time (more than 3 hours to the next bus and the stop is far from the hotel). The restaurant (taverna) next to the hotel have a good food and a good price too, but the staff aren't kind at all (just the old man that I suppose to be the owner).

Review 82:The beach next to the hotel is the best one near by. The pool was great too with a very beautifull view of the sea.

Review 83:It's really isolated, would not go there without a rental car.

Review 84:Excellent value (shoulder season). Got a nice big apartment instead of the booked studio. Hotel site is nicely arranged with playgrounds and pool overlooking the sea in a big garden. We had the pool to ourselves. Dramatic landscape nearby. Good wifi connection.

Review 85:Apartments were a little bit "tired'. Cooking facilities were very basic.

Review 86:Fabulous position, very laid-back and peaceful. Magnificent views. Rooms were cleaned every day.

Review 87:Some of the staff could be more professional. Too family business profile. Restaurant services could be improved to a more professional standard.

Review 88:Good value for money. We were offered a very large double room with sea view at very good prices.

Review 89:A kettle would have been handy.

Review 90:Positioned right by the sea with even a small sheltered beach. Helpful and friendly staff. Quiet. Child friendly with a play ground and giant chess. We were given an extra adjoining room for the same original price when we asked for an extra bed (since 4 beds in one apartement would have been very tight. The pool was clean and uncrowded and well serviced and had a 0.75m pool for toddlers. Stavros was a two minute drive for breakfast. We did not eat at the resort or have anything more than cold breakfast in the room. Hot and cold water all day although the shower fittings were a bit tired.

Review 91:Fantastic location right on the sea, very quiet. a beautiful garden. Good home made food. bedding is good. great place for the children. the pool is big with a fantastic view. perfect for farniente .....we felt at home !

Review 92:We were very welcomed from the first minute (The Hotel ist familyowned). We enjoyed the little beach (our son made his first snorkling experience), the salt water pool and the calmnes - no big parties, loud music etc. It's an ideal place to rest and enjoy the vaccation with your family. We realy recommend this hotel/appartment!!!! (We had a car for two weeks and I would recommend this..)

Review 93:You need a car; 2 small supermarkets are within 1 mile but largersupermarkets, cash machine and restaurants are further away. Theapartments are quite small and furniture is basic. There was noinventory list so we could not check what should be in the kitchen, buta lot seemed to be missing. No coffee maker or tea pot available.Cleaning was done every day (floors). Despite that, we saw severalcockroaches. After reporting this, our room was sprayed. The shower roomwas tiny (wc, basin, and shower cramped into a room the size of atoilet) and the shower did not work well. So, if you like camping and aremote location this is all right... For us, it was to 'spartan'.

Review 94:Friendly owners. Nice pool, although the kids did not like the saltwater. Idyllic location near small beaches. Taverna on site and withinwalking distance. The harbor city of Chania is well worth a visit, 30min by car.

Review 95:You need a car to be independent and also to go to a shop.

Review 96:The owners were very friendly and service minded. The place is very beautiful but a bit isolated if you dont have a car.

Review 97:Bathroom is awful: shower is always a problem, even the door could not be closed. Kitchen was middle equipped. There was no cold water! :( Only hot & warm. Though the WiFi signal was acceptable (1-2 unit) the InterNet connection speed was terrible, almost useless.

Review 98:Helping staff. Big pool next to the sea (pity it has seawater). Nice view all around. Big room. A/C + ventillator. Quiet countryside. The clean sandy beach is max 70m from the pool, nice bay, clean water. At the pool bar: - bartender gave us 2 rounds of a welcome drink: homemade raki with honey&cinemon... the best raki ever. - Maria, the sheff made a great dinner for us. :)

Review 99:The Hotel Zorbas itself has no disadvantages. The only perturbing thingin Crete is poor route marks: we were permanently lost on the route tothe hotel when travelled around

Review 100:Nice place, nature, sea etc. The hotel is a family property and ourstay there was very comfortable, in really family atmosphere. Manythanks to Apostholos, Maria, Takis, Georgy for their assistance duringour holidays

Review 101:Hotel Zorbas is a family owned and operated hotel that is clean and friendly. Maria is an excellent cook that prepared authentic Cretan food at an affordable price. The facilty was on the beach and a manageable distance from Chania. My family will frequent this establishment for its accommodating and welcoming nature. We highly encourage all to visit Hotel Zorbas and experience Crete!!

Review 102:You need a car to be able to do stings outside. Breakfast could havebeen better for 7 Euros. There was little choice.

Review 103:The Appartment bungalows are organized together very nicely with abeautiful garden in the middle. Nice and clean salt water swimmingpool. Well equipped kitchen. If the beach is cleaned , it might also bevery nice. We were one of the first guests in the season, so there wasstill a lot of rubbish when we arrived. The owner is nice and welcomeus with a drink and upgraded our room also as we were one of the firstguests I guess.

Review 104:Hotel Zorbas is a family-run business. The owners are extremely nice and welcoming, the location by the seaside is beautiful and close to several spectacular sites. We highly recommend it.

Review 105:I felt I had stepped back in time a little bit. There was nothing wrongwith the room, it was lovely and clean but the fixtures and fittingswere somewhat dated for my liking. You really need a car for thelocation, as not much around the hotel.

Review 106:The owner was very freindly. Made us feel very welcome. The room waslarge and had a view of the pool.

Review 107:There was hardly hot water to shower.

Review 108:The location was great. Beautiful beach and view. The rooms were clean and wide.

Review 109:The food

Review 110:got exactly what you paid for! very clean and friendly enviroment, handy little beach.

Review 111:Expensive for the price, the playground could be more friendly

Review 112:The pool next to our location

Review 113:Slow WiFi

Review 114:Very good quiet location very close to the sea. Perefect for familieswith small children (good playground). Very good cleaning service.

Review 115:Very good place for families with little children. There were two niceplaygrounds for children. Very close to the sea and and a lot of space

Review 116:My family had a great time at Zorbas. Very friendly, family owned complex. Great value for money, quiet and peacfull location, Good food.

Review 117:Great place for a family holiday, spacious rooms and really great swimming pool! People in this place are very nice and helpfull!
