Reviews for Palazzo Ferraioli - Hotel & Wellness
Review 1:people should be informed that they have to be in good phiscal shape to climb like 80 stairs!
Review 2:liked the helpful stuff and the birdlike feeling up in the room
Review 3:A lovely solarium and bar, but a shame that more guests didn't use these. Having to call for staff could take a little while, seems like a missed opportunity here.
Review 4:Good room with a fantastic view. Antonella was really great at organising excursions for us,nothing was too much trouble!
Review 5:Price was slightly higher than usual for a room without a balcony.
Review 6:The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The sun roof was an excellent place to sunbath and was very comfortable.
Review 7:Details on how to get to the hotel by car need to be more specific
Review 8:Friendly receptionist who helped us navigate our way through Atrani. Carlo the porter who carried three extremely heavy suitcases up the 65 steps to the hotel. The location, the Jacuzzi bath in the room and the view from the bedroom window
Review 9:Bar staff (roof bar) was a bit lay back and not active to offer something to drink. Bar was also very quiet.
Review 10:Excellent service from the Hotel staff. Very kind and helpfull at the reception. Beautyfull location and room was absolute great to stay in! Roof bar has an amazing view!
Review 11:The only minute point I would like to make is the effectiveness of the WiFi. Certain locations were not strong enough.
Review 12:Location was outstanding, Staff from luggage helper to room service was outstanding, friendly, very helpful and resourceful
Review 13:Unfortunately the overall vibe in this hotel is very negative. Apart from the receptionsts the hotel staff is very unfriendly and unprofessional. The light concept in the small "Diva" rooms is really weird and unpleasant. Parking is expensive and you need to carry your luggage quite far - up and down the tiny roads and many stairs unless you use the even more expensive so called private parking by the harbour/beach. Definitely not worth the money and no 4 star location.
Review 14:Stunning roof terrace with beautiful views.
Review 15:Steps everywhere - only a venue for the fit and able
Review 16:Great location for visiting Amalfi Coast. Small town and not as inundated with visitors as other towns are.
Review 17:The steps. A lot of them to get from the road up to the hotel. The staff helps you with the luggage, but you still have to climb them alone... OK, this is part of the town's charm, but note it if you have bad knees
Review 18:Great view from the room window and the roof, room with Jacuzzi bath, located at the town center, close to the beach
Review 19:It was hard to choose in which town on Amalfi cost to stay, but we made right decision. Atrani is just magical and the location is perfect - Amalfi is easy reachable by walk and Ravello is a short bus ride... The staff was very friendly and the view from our room was beautiful. We loved everything about this hotel... Just 1 tip - reather than on Atrani main beach stay on Spiaggia di Castiglione, it's just short walk from the hotel but much nicer, cheaper and sea is crystal clear...
Review 20:The only minor gripe I have is getting there. It's the traditional Italian village so it is nestled high on a street, but finding the path is hit or miss depending on which way you're coming from, but once you get on the path it's easy to find.
Review 21:Everything about the hotel from the accommodations to the setting.
Review 22:Driving down into and up out of the town can be a challenge, but no more than to be expected along the Amalfi coast.
Review 23:Chose Palazzo Ferraioli on short notice in early August, and was very pleasantly surprised by the modern, clean design, large and comfortable room, spa-like bathrooms, and the reasonable room price during high season on the Amalfi coast. Situated a short distance up from the small beach and cove of the village of Atrani, this is a refreshingly less-touristic Amalfi experience, though the town of Amalfi is literally the next town over, easily reached by footpath.
Review 24:There are 91 steps to reception, and when you're like us and a family on holiday you'll obviously have a fair amount of luggage between 4 people. So the reception had to call a porter (man to transport the bags up). He carried ONE out of FIVE cases all the way up, while a boy of 15 and my husband carried the rest! And then he cheekily asked for a tip!NO WHERE to park outside the hotel even while we were unloading luggage, and be ready to pay 25 euros a day or 3 euros an hour (refreshing the ticket every hour) for parking. The hotel doubled as a spa which was an empty room with a thin curtain veiling people who would be in hot tubs and showers, right beside the reception. The elevator was a cheap folding-door contraption that looked as if it was put in in the 70s.We were put all the way up on the 5th floor, and coming back from the beach we were told by maids that it was broken and we would have to climb the stairs up 5 floors to get to our room! (This is AFTER 91 steps up to the reception!)We were very annoyed and after I remarked that I would cancel my visa to my husband, it was magically working again! This happened again that night and a member of staff went up all the the stairs and brought the elevator back down. He then mentioned that the elevator kept breaking down for the 5th floor, which led us to question why they put us on the 5th floor! There was a strong smell of sewage coming from the showers, in both rooms. In the heat the smells were escalated. The beds were very hard and the rooms and hotel in general shabby and decorated with tacky and cheap spray paint art. At night you can hear the pumping music from the square where there is a disco. For the breakfast there is no freshly cooked food- A small amount of fruit, old-looking pastries, and a few slices of cold meats made for a terrible meal. The only food we bothered to eat was a few slices of watermelon.
Review 25:Location is not good. You will have to climb many steps down to reach Atrani and then many steps up do reach the hotel. If you have a car it is not a good Hotel, cause there is no parking and there is only one option, a EUR 20 per day, 15 min and 100 meters high from Atrani. The bathroom was very smelly and we had to keep the door shut always (if not, the entire room would be smelly too) They say there is a Concierge, but there only one receptionist that doesn't know much more than I knew (my first time in Costa Amalfitana). They didn't seem to understand the meaning of a Concierge - make reservations, explain the city, make things easier to the guest. Breakfast outdoors with no views - in a city that every single hotel has nice a view. And food just ok, mainly with industrialized bread and juices, no home-made. No restaurant or kitchen too.
Review 26:Nice interior design, renewed. Good matress and linen.
Review 27:When booking through Booking.com for 2 double rooms the rate was stated as per room. When we arrive at the hotel the receptionist informed us that as we were 4 people the room rate would be €40 per room, per night more. Effective she was saying that we booked single occupancy in 2 double rooms. She was rude, unhelpful, and her colleague was a far nicer lady. We did not avail of any the services of the hotel in protest. It would appear that since our experience the site has changed the way it processes bookings No offer of apology has been received. Other than that the Hotel, its location, Atrani and its people, are charming.
Review 28:you have to call them when you arrive as the entrance of the hotel is some 100 steps above street level...
Review 29:no parking...
Review 30:Complicated to find the way to the hotel. Expensive spa.
Review 31:Great breakfast, wonderful view from the room.
Review 32:A little hard to find.
Review 33:Amazing room with a great sea view. Nice rooftop lounge area.
Review 34:It was a bit expensive compared to other hotels in Atrani / Amalfi area.
Review 35:The rooms were great!
Review 36:Nice room, great view, not too many steps, nice staff
Review 37:Breakfast is not that fancy.
Review 38:Good location, but need to climb 70-80 steps each trip. Closed to Amalfi, easy to get bus or take a cab.
Review 39:The staff (especially Angela) are super friendly and helpful !!
Review 40:Far from center, have to walk to many stairs
Review 41:Staff Rooms Facilities
Review 42:The valet parking service (car scratched)
Review 43:Lovely rooms and great views
Review 44:Lotta steps but still Real nice if that's not a challenge:)
Review 45:Loved the hotel And staff
Review 46:location room with balcony very helpful staff
Review 47:If you do plan to take advantage of the 'Spa', I was a bitdisappointed with the fact that they advertise this Hotel as a 'Spaand Wellness Centre'. The treatment room is one room on a separatefloor from the 'Spa facility'. There is no actual 'massagetable' per se as one is used to in North America - it's a flattable with no head rest. No warm blankets to cover you during yourtreatment and you get chilly during the massage. You can utilize thewhirlpool, sauna, etc. if you choose any massage or facial treatment -but it's an extra charge. My expectations were much higher whenreading their description of the Spa services, but the staff werewonderful, and the massage was soothing. Many choices offered fortreatments.... I'm not trying to be too harsh - it's just Iexpected a different experience.
Review 48:Great location, super friendly and helpful service from all staffmembers. All were willing to bend over backwards for you, with a smileand appreciation of your stay at their Hotel. Beautifully appointed room(the triple executive room) and very modern and clean. Incrediblestunning views of the sea and the entire village and beach, which is 7minutes down many steps into the village piazza. The main piazza servingthe hotels and families living and working in the village is invitingand pleasant and clean, and all the food was terrific within theconfines of the piazza. It's the place to stay in Atrani for arelaxing time and easy short walking distance to Amalfi. However, the 67steps down and back up to the hotel can be challenging for some. But...Highly recommended, and I'd go back again!!
Review 49:The stairs to and from the hotel and within Atrani itself were a challenge. Not suitable for anyone with a mobility issue.
Review 50:The staff was extremely helpful & obliging. The location was stunning & the bars and restaurants in Atrani were all extremely friendly & good value for money.
Review 51:Wonderful location with astonishing view. We had one of those double superior corner rooms with jacuzzi, super large tv, double window and a small terrace with a view over Atrani and the see. The porter, was very nice with us in lifting our luggage up the stairs from the beach parking up to the rooms. also the service to collect and deliver our car from/to the hotel worth the money considering how difficult is to drive and park in such an enchanting place where cars just in excess. The hotel & SPA staff was very nice and professional. Amalfi is at walking distgance just 400 meters away, reachable through a tunnel for pedestrians. About the breackfast we cannot judge as we woke up too early and it was over. For sure we want to return.
Review 52:Staff was very professional and accommodating to our needs such as an early breakfast, carrying our luggage to the bus stop. Location was excellent, short walk to Amalfi and lovely restaurants in Atrani
Review 53:Unfortunately we had a problem with a horrible sewage smell coming from the bathroom on the first night, so we had to move rooms ... not the best.
Review 54:Atrani is a lovely little village within 15 mins walk from Amalfi. We had a great sea view and the rooms are comfortable. There is a great little bar/restaurant at the bottom of the steps run by a guy called Salvatore - great food, drinks and sometimes entertainment.
Review 55:Rooms are very, very small. Choice and quality of food at breakfast leave much to be desired. To climb up 80 high steps to get to the hotel is a problem
Review 56:The view of the mountains and the see is fantastic!
Review 57:Church bells chime at night. Is that a bad thing? It's part of thecharm of Atrani.
Review 58:Great staff, especially Vito who carries your bags up 100 steps toreception. Great location, easy walk to Amalfi, but much nicer andQuieter place to stay, away from the crowds. More authentic localcuisine in Atrani, at better prices.
Review 59:Atrani is a picturesque small fishing village 5 minutes walk from Amalfi. There are a handful of authentic italian restaurants and bars around the central square. Atrani is much more local and off the beaten trail than many of the other towns along the coast. The hotel is excellent with great views over the central square and beach. Well designed and run. Get a room with a sea view.
Review 60:Bit tricky to get to and park the car. Just call the hotel 10 minutes before you arrive and they take care of everything though
Review 61:Perfect stay here. Staff was great (particularly Vito who helped with about everything). Rooms looked spectacular with fantastic views. Very comfortable as well. Location was incredible. One of the nicest places we've ever stayed.
Review 62:Very little breakfast, loudness during the night (one really cannot sleep due to several dogs barking all night around), rooms uncompfortable (but designed?), many stairs, difficult to find, no parking space around - these are the facts. By the way: Due to a simple error we paid to much in advance (our credit card was charged much too high) -till today (more than three weeks!!!) we did not get OUR money back...the Hotel announced the pay-back several times, but does do realize it...this is considered to be highly UNFAIR! WE REALLY CANNOT RECOMMEND THAT HOTEL!!!
Review 63:The Amalfi coast...nothing else
Review 64:No wi-fi in the room is below standard for a hotel of this pricewhen compared with other hotels in Italy - some being considerablyless in cost.
Review 65:Location, staff especially the gentleman who carried our heavy bags upthe steep flights of stairs.
Review 66:Nothing
Review 67:A fantastic hotel in a great location away from tourist areas. Staff very helpful and friendly, incredibly clean, great facilities and wonderful breakfast! Highly recommended.
Review 68:We had problems finding the hotel, as you cannot drive directly to the entrance. Better directions would have been helpful. Staff at breakfast was slow and not very motivated (maybe due to low season in the beginning of may?) and seemed to be more interested in watching TV and chatting than working.
Review 69:Our room was stylish with a comfortable bed and spacious shower. Furthermore it was soundproof. Nice view from the terrasse. Breakfast was okay, but you had to pay for extras like "scrambled eggs", etc. Staff at reception was nice and courteous.
Review 70:Many stairs leading to hotel and the hotel elevator didn't work for 4 days.
Review 71:We loved the location, quieter but close to Amalfi. The rooms are modern and funky. Upmarket facility.
Review 72:The cost of the car parking
Review 73:Atrani is yet a genuine village
Review 74:Fabulous location, very helpful staff, clean rooms
Review 75:Bad restaurant recommendation from the reception.
Review 76:We had an upgrade to seaview.
Review 77:The room was spacious and perfect. The staff was friendly Atrani was perfect, less crowded than Amalfi
