Reviews for Mount Errigal Hotel, Conference & Leisure Centre
Review 1:View wasn't great but we were only there for 1 night so it wasn't an issue really.
Review 2:Food was excellent. We ate in the bar and standard was very high. Staff very attentive and friendly. Waiter had good knowledge of goings on in the kitchen.
Review 3:Liked letterkenny it's self but if drinking in town need to get taxis would stay in the town the next time
Review 4:Didn't spend much time in the hotel to be honest
Review 5:Bar staff stare through you.. 20 mins avg wait time to be served.. Residents bar has no selection.. Was put into a room that the people in the swimming pool could look right in eliminating privacy.. Early morning was like a freight train passing out room with the noise from staff.
Review 6:The venue for the show itself.
Review 7:Kids were dancing at 8 so we had to wait until after they danced for breakfast we asked could we get an apple for one of the kids for now because we didn't have time it was half 7 the girl in the restaurant said leave 50 cents beside the reception for the apple even though we had paid for breakfast dinner with our room she said to another colleague unbelievable joke I think that is a disgrace and I won't be bk going to stay in radissons or gallaghers the next time
Review 8:The waitress in the restaurant on Wednesday night was so lovely reception was lovey too
Review 9:nothing
Review 10:lovely reception staff, our allocated room was excellent, beds comfortable and we ate in the bar and food very nice. hotel in good location too.
Review 11:The standard of our room was very poor and there was only one plug socket which was at the far end of the room and behind the curtain. Both beds were very hard and uncomfortable and we felt the room wasn't very clean.
Review 12:Staff in the bar very friendly and accommodating.
Review 13:Good value for money, although if you wish to use pool there's a €3 charge for each swimming cap needed. Also a €5 charge if you want ice for the room. Other than that it was brilliant. Clean spacious rooms and friendly staff. We ate in the bar and it was delicious as well as good value again.
Review 14:Rooms are overpriced & extremely outdated. The price for one night room only would be expensive at half the price.
Review 15:Very friendly & helpful staff throughout hotel
Review 16:Disgusting dirty hotel. Vomit in room 1 eary wig in bedroom 2 and room 3 was just poor. Breakfast was groses and restaurant floor sticky and dirty.
Review 17:The only thing going for it was that it was close to where we needed to be
Review 18:We were given a room in a very noisy corridor could not sleep from the noise from the other rooms
Review 19:Very good location, staff were very helpful and pleasant would stay again
Review 20:Fire alarm went off twice through the night man shouting to get into his room at 4am music cancelled in public bar because of aa convention being on
Review 21:Location was great hotel was lovely fresh clean staff very friendly and helpful
Review 22:No spoons for your yea in your room only wooden stirers supplied. Mantainence work being done and rooms very noisy due to heavy drilling. Very noisy van in the bathroom when you turned on the light leading to people in nearby rooms to ring reception and complain of noise so we used the bathroom in the dark, reception just said they would inform Mantainence.
Review 23:Excellent staff and magnificent food
Review 24:It not a good place to stay when there is a wedding. The noise from the other guests and the loud music from the disco. We didn't get a wink of sleep there. And the breakfast staff were not to helpful either.
Review 25:The bar man was very helpful.
Review 26:Had to switch from Room 328 after 2 nights due to music in the bar area; Denise (reception)arranged new Room504promptly Would prefer Breakfast charge to be included in offer Sat morning breakfast somewhat chaotic due to arrival of a band supporters club
Review 27:Staff very helpful& courteous.Leisure Centre a bonus
Review 28:The only thing I would say is that better lighting in the bathroom is needed.
Review 29:The hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was self service and there was plenty to choose from. We had dinner both nights in the grill/bar which I would highly recommend and reasonable in price.
Review 30:Noise levels high due to Highland Radio concert, no parking around the hotel as a consequence. I had to set the alarm to get up at 2am to move the car from a half mile away!
Review 31:Staff were fantastic. Breakfast was great and lots of staff so not kept waiting for coffee, toast etc.
Review 32:Having to leave the next day, would have loved to stay longer.
Review 33:The staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect as it was away from the noise.
Review 34:Insufficient Staff available to clear tables, serve tea/coffee. We had to go find a member of staff to serve tea / coffee! The Restaurant was a mess, we had to clear our own table no staff available between 9.30am and 10.00am. Two members of staff eventually lifted the used dishes, leaving the unused cutlery and left tables unwiped.
Review 35:Warm welcome on arrival. We met up with friends in the bar for dinner - 5 of us. Bar staff friendly & attentive. Looking forward to my next visit.
Review 36:The only thing was the heat in the bedroom at night. Very warm and uncomfortable. Didn't realise I could turn the heating down until he next morning.
Review 37:It was a lovely hotel, the food was fabulous in the Resturant. The staff were very friendly. Very relaxing stay.
Review 38:There was a lack of sockets in the bedroom, only one socket mid way up the wall that was used for the television. We requested an multiple adapter/extension lead from reception which allowed us to charge one phone/use straightener at a time more safely as the socket could be moved around
Review 39:The staff & location were brilliant
Review 40:Small room for the price paid. Room was close to a noisy and busy doorway. Lots of people walking outside the room. Breakfast was expensive so didn't go for that option.
Review 41:Nice location. Staff were friendly. Bar and restaurant is nice. Free Wi-Fi and free access to leisure centre.
Review 42:Breakfast wasnt included in price, where it is in other hotels in letterkenny and toilet didn't flush proper.
Review 43:Location excellent, bar food was gorgeous.
Review 44:i travel in Ireland giving a talk once a month for the past 8 years. This was the most expensive hotel for one night by far with much poorer facilities. For 133 euro there was no soap shampoo shower gel in the bathroom. we usually find hotel staff on the ball for helping in setting up the room we have booked for meeting. We had to chase up everything. Staff were not around or helpful.
Review 45:Breakfast
Review 46:Pool area was a bit dated & only 2 chairs in family bedroom but only minor complaints
Review 47:Lovely family orientated hotel, perfect for a family break. Fabulous breakfast, great selection
Review 48:Shower not great at all.temp switch broken on shower. No wardrobe. And noise from lesuire members going good ino gym and deliverys if Ur room is that side of building.
Review 49:Staff excellent from reception too breakfast, lesuire pool.Night porter.made u very welcome would stay here again.
Review 50:It was nice hotel, food in bar was reasonable for a snack during the day. Rooms were massive, beds huge and comfortable. No major issues. Ironing facilities and hairdryer in the room, good sized flat screen TV. Leisure facilities good.
Review 51:Could not check in until 3 in the afternoon. Very late. No power points in the room to charge phones. One over near the kettle. Breakfast very expensive
Review 52:Fitness class in gym very good. Leisure centre lovely! Location excellent Food- dinner lovely
Review 53:The lack of socket plugs as their was 2 girls staying and only one plug near a mirror we had to wait til the other was finished. But that could just be us being vain ha!
Review 54:Asked for a quiet room near the elevator, got a room as far away as it could be from elevator. Room was above a ballroom where a wedding was in full swing until after 2am with so much noise the band may as well have been in my room. Reception staff said they could not move me as hotel was fully booked. Fair enough, but they might have offered a complimentary breakfast or some discount off the rate of €112 room only,
Review 55:Leaving
Review 56:The only part we could find was we never booked long enough .
Review 57:I have been in this trade for 25 years as has my wife . Over all from the minute we walked in the door could not fault anything . From the Receptionist to the waitress at breakfast tea . The breakfast one of the best we have had in Ireland . First impressions do count and first impressions were superseded Thanks
Review 58:The room was at the start of the corridor and was so noisy, being beside the door. The kettle and bathroom fan did not work.
Review 59:Reception area. Free parking, choice of restaurants, pool.
Review 60:massage and beauty treatments that were advertised were not available, which was very disappointing. I was looking forward to that!
Review 61:the food and the bar staff were brilliant. very friendly.
Review 62:The bathroom was a disgrace in my room and the room was badly in need of decorating. The bacon was cold, even though we were down within 15 minutes of breakfast starting and i had asked a kitchen staff fir boiled eggs to be told i couldn't get them until another member of staff intervened. This put me off asking for decaf tea or anything else and I am on a special diet so I didn't get value for my money.
Review 63:The meal in the bar was lovely
Review 64:The money i spend for one night you would think there would be a breakfast included for around that area for b/b and lest money dreakfast included
Review 65:It was ok done the job was a feis but was messed about a bit with rooms when I arrived and when got the right room it was dirty so was transferred to another room. Breakfast was to be at 7.30 but didn't get served until 8.00.
Review 66:Bed was very hard, only 1 pillow each. Room was so hot at night. And when we opened the window their was some sort of boiler running all night, very noisy.
Review 67:Great location, food was excellent and staff very helpful.
Review 68:Very noisy, fire exit being bang all night. very rush check in . no times of food availbale times. residents should have been alloctaed car park space. room very dated, very small for 3 beds. Very very Expensive... wifi so slow we gave up...
Review 69:Terrible experience, I stay in hotels at least once a month for the last 10 years and I can safely say I have never had a worse experience. Management must be amateurs or else do not care.
Review 70:The design of the bedroom, with the position of, for example the TV. The room and especially the bathroom cleaniness could be improved
Review 71:Location Staff friendliness
Review 72:room was right above wedding function and noise levels coming through to the room was ridiculous!! bar staff were particularly cold and not pleasant and there is no atmosphere in the front bar that would encourage you to stay and take a drink not even background music!
Review 73:food good, wifi good! price was good, but this was more so to do with the exchange rate on the euro than anything else.
Review 74:Breakfast! Don't get me wrong, it was fresh, nice full irish, however, it was disappointing that there was no cheese or even few slices of ham available at all. On one morning, there was no bread to choose from except white toast, and on both morning, there was no fresh fruits, just grapefruit segment from the can. Cost is only 8 euro per person, so not over priced at all, but a bigger choice, especially for those who doesn't want "full irish" bomb in the morning.
Review 75:Over all our weekend in the hotel was a pleasant experience.
Review 76:It has been the most uncomfortable bed we have slept in and we were exhausted the next day. We were considering staying Sunday night but decided to move onto another hotel in Donegal.
Review 77:Or room only had one plug witch the tv was pluged into when we said about this they offered us an extension lead we were moved to a different room but very disappointed
Review 78:€5 charge for a pint glass of ice to keep drinks cold in the room, and that's not even to have it brought to the room. Also the water in the bedroom was cloudy and warm - no cold running water.
Review 79:The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome when we arrived. Don't let the look of the dated rooms put you off, I've stayed a few times and the last time I was here the room I had was lovely and modern. Nothing wrong with the more dated rooms either they're still clean and comfortable (and I usually hate dated interior). Would highly recommend the bar and restaurant.
Review 80:Very little if anything.
Review 81:Very friendly and fast check-in. Staff very friendly and helpful Breakfast very good and dinner was delicious , still thinking about it.
Review 82:The bedroom was disappointing, verging on dingy. The lighting was inadequate, it was like turning on darkness. The pillows were too hard
Review 83:The building is very impressive , as is Donegal
Review 84:We stayed in this hotel at the weekend and could not fault the service. We often go here for weekend breaks and never have had a bad stay. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is amazing.
Review 85:lack of plugs in room to charge fone laptop etc. wifi was just ok ,tv was badly positoned on wrong wall had turn sideways when in bed
Review 86:staff was friendly helpfull.rooms were warm cleam, loads of hot water,
Review 87:The staff in the bar were terrible. I had to go to the bar to ask for menus and order drinks after sitting at a table for 15 mins. I was told he would send someone down....never did. I had to ask a second time. Service was non existant.....bar was busy for food and there seemed to be lots of staff around but no-one actually doing anything with customers. Food was very good when it came out.
Review 88:Room was a good size and bed was comfortable, they did say at the desk when we checked in that we had been upgraded to a superior room. Staff at check in were very friendly and helpful.
Review 89:Poor decorative order, fixtures and fitting decaying with age and use. Restaurant and bar furniture out of the 80's. Bar food on Sunday 8th unimaginative and hot counter facilities aging and not showing off the food at its best.
Review 90:comfortable bed
Review 91:We stayed In room 113 it was cold damp and musty and out dated and this room was over priced. The pool area had plasters and wipes on the floor at the jazcui and was still there on our second day
Review 92:Staff very friendly food very good entertainment excellent
Review 93:Small ballroom draughty both nights. Dinner on Friday night wasn't hot.
Review 94:Hotel comfort and pleasant efficient staff. Response to subsequent email re lost cuff limks, prompt and sympathetic.
Review 95:Only small things couldn't get hot water but that was resolved the kind housekeeper let us use another bathroom. Few items at breakfast was cold.
Review 96:Lovely looking hotel. The room was big and clean. Staff were very nice.
Review 97:there was only 1 socket, which the to was plugged into, not very good in a family room, my husbands phone and mine both needed charging but we could only charge 1 after the children had fell asleep and could turn the to off
Review 98:good size of room good wifi
Review 99:The room was very small and some of the items left in the room were very old fashioned. My boyfriend could use the shower as it was not a suitable size for someone the was 6'1.
Review 100:The bed was very comfy and the room was extremely clean.
Review 101:Was over charged on check in, only a small amount but still. Also the noise was unbearable and our room vibrated when the heating system started at 6am, right outside our bedroom window.
Review 102:Liked the bar, food was good and pool was great.
Review 103:hotel had been closed for two days over Christmas so it was extremely cold everywhere on our first day. the beds in our family room were basic low small doubles and not comfortable at all
Review 104:The staff were great also food in dexters smokehouse was very good. great location
Review 105:the jacuzzi was out of order while we there and also the steam was nt working properly, but the staff were very apologetic about this.......It did nt stop us from enjoying our stay though....
Review 106:Staff are a great asset to this hotel...They just could nt do enough for you............The food was just excellent.......we could nt find fault with it.........and the buffet breakfast was brilliant........we would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends....keep up the good work.......
Review 107:1. Too many stairs/doors, its a bit confusing, I ended up in the basement I think!
Review 108:1. Convenient to shopping, nightlife, etc 2. Staff on reception very nice. 3. Although it was fully booked and had a Christmas party function on that night it was relatively quiet in my room. 4. Price wise it was fine, not the cheapest hotel I've stayed in but it was nice.
Review 109:noise in hallways people running about at 3am , 30min que for breakfast then when I got back to my table someone els was sitting at it
Review 110:Good staff nice rooms
Review 111:We booked Mount Errigal hotel for my friends 21st birthday through booking.com and upon arrival we discovered our booking had been cancelled when we only contacted booking.com and requested one room to be cancelled due to family issues. We had received two emails from booking.com stating that our booking was still active and we still had the three rooms we originally booked.
Review 112:The staff and management team of Mount Errigal hotel who wherebon the front desk on the 8th November 2014 couldn't do enough for us to help us get two rooms to sleep in that night. They where really kind and so helpful, they made us feel right at home and relaxed after a bad start with the booking misunderstanding. Would happily stay here again.
Review 113:Could do with updating rooms quite badly! shower screen in bathroom leaked water everywhere, no soap in bathroom, an old sticking plaster was stuck on hairdryer.. also our toddler kept opening door into hall as door did not have a proper locking system so not very relaxing having to run after him constantly.
Review 114:Food lovely, staff very nice good leisure facility's, good family hotel.
Review 115:Nothing
Review 116:Went to Santa weekend everything was brilliant staff cudin do enough and people wer pleasant swimming pool was brilliant think it should be rated more than a 3 star can't wait to go back
Review 117:the first nights stay was in a very small room... bed too small for a couple. the second night was upgraded to a lovely room after speaking to reception but was charged 7.50 € but staff were wonderful.
Review 118:great lively atmosphere.. wonderful food ..my vegetarian dinner one of the nicest meals i have had.
Review 119:Rooms very dated, and not properly cleaned, tiny en suite, and leisure facility was grubby enough.
Review 120:Looked lovely from outside and bar staff were friendly, food was really nice.
Review 121:The microphone used for the speeches kept cutting out on the best man and groom. I brought this matter up with the reception staff the following morning to which I got an apology. I don't feel I needed the apology but the newly married couple did. Speaking to the bride she informed me the hotel gave them £100 discount. I Feel that is an outrageous offer on a young newly wed couple. I feel the hotel should pay the full price of their DVD especially as a member of the bar staff unknownly admitted this was already a known problem and it has ruined their once in a lifetime DVD. I look forward to your response
Review 122:Food was very good
Review 123:There was nothing about this hotel that I didn't like.
Review 124:Everything about the hotel was brilliant. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Our room was upgraded and was fantastic.
Review 125:It was very warm in the hotel, although it was very mild weather for this time of year
Review 126:We were delighted with the Mount Errigal Hotel. We made full use of the leisure centre and beauty salon. Excellent facilities
Review 127:had snack in bar on arrival which was not nice at all, this was disappointing. Shower was awful which was a pity for such a nice bathroom
Review 128:staff friendly and helpful, rooms spacious and comfortable, located few minutes drive to city centre
Review 129:Myself and my wife recently stayed in this Hotel. Have stayed in it before on several occasions. Good location and only a 15 minute walk from the town center.Rooms were spacious and nicely laid out. Staff were friendly and there is ample car parking. Nice pool in leisure center which my wife frequented. Good range of breakfast options. Location i have stayed most in on my trips to Letterkenny. . .
Review 130:bedrooms looked worn out. Bathrooms were awful with bathmats that have been there since the 80's. I would far rather stay in a BnB than a hotel like this. Worn out & tired!
Review 131:reception staff friendly.
Review 132:Our room was over the main door and the noise level from taxi drop offs and the music from the bar was unreal until the early hours of the morning. The breakfast was the worst I have had in a hotel in quite a few years.
Review 133:The staff were second to none,
Review 134:I had requested two double beds when booking the Hotel but it was a Kingsize bed in the room however as the bed was big and we liked the room we made do.
Review 135:I enjoyed my stay at the Mount Errigal Hotel, Staff were friendly and the location was handy for Letterkenny Town.
Review 136:There was no controls for the air con and the room was very hot. Also our room 514 was beside a generator which buzzed all night and we hardly slept
Review 137:The night front desk man was excellent and went out of his way to get me a snack at 11pm
