Reviews for Dillon’s Hotel

Review 1:Unfortunately there was a bit of noise during the night from a few people who had a bit too much but it was all sorted out in the morning when we told staff about it.

Review 2:The entrance was lovely and welcoming. The food was like eating at a Michelin star restaurant it was that tasty plus the rooms are definitely value for money.

Review 3:The breakfast for what your paying is atrocious. No soda or potatoe bread ? Hash browns taste horrible in my opinion and are the cheap way out

Review 4:The location and the apartment itself was good and modern.

Review 5:No parking available and limited to 2 hours on the streets nearby. Breakfast was limited in choice, what I had was good but a limited choice, I.e. No tinned tomatoes, no beans, no potato cakes or soda bread, those horrible little plastic containers of marmalade. Maybe because we were there over new year.

Review 6:Comfortable bed, good breakfast, positioned in the Main Street so very handy. Fresh milk brought when I asked for tea in my room. Polite courteous staff and a prompt check n out.

Review 7:nice hot powerful shower. Usually places i go the water is only warm and have to tamper with the shower to get the right temp. it was nice not to have to do that.

Review 8:noisy water pump every time you flushed toilet and toaster with glasses be handy in apartment

Review 9:Apartment warm and cosy kids enjoyed it as did myself and hubby

Review 10:bed it was very hard/thin walls -could hear almost what people nxt room were saying/u cud see where holes in walls had been patched up/ran my bath in the middle of the nyt as couldnt sleep and the water was brown. However the next morning the bath water was clear.

Review 11:staff were excellent/location was brill/food was perfect/great atmosphere here

Review 12:Had to pay for parking. It was e5 overnight which is not a lot but hotel guests should not have to pay.

Review 13:Great location Lovely room, very quiet Great breakfast

Review 14:I had to pay 9 euros for parking for less than one day. This would have been slightly less but i moved the car for about a hour

Review 15:Central location and easy parking. Clean warm and great breakfast. Large bedroom with double bed and single. Free wifi.

Review 16:Ran out of hot water for a bath! Was not informed when checking in that our apartment had its own water supply/emersion. Really annoyed as had looked forward to a nice relaxing bath which didnt happen. It took too long for water to heat up again!

Review 17:Really great location and great value for money. Our apartment was spacious with a living room.

Review 18:Hotel has been refurbished since I was last there and they have done a fantastic job! The staff were lovely, food was great and the room was clean, warm and comfortable! Perfect!

Review 19:We had booked well in advance for smokers room and didn't get it. Also for breakfast only 1 choice of egg ?.

Review 20:My sisters and myself, found the hotel and staff very warm and inviting.its really close to shops, clubs and pubs ☺️. It's great value for money and we are for staying again .

Review 21:If travelling with young children please request a room that does not overlook the street!! its very noisy at closing time and street sweepers start early morning too.

Review 22:Very friendly staff through out the hotel, and food is excellent both in evening and at breakfast.

Review 23:Double bed was quite small. No mirror in 2nd bedroom but 2 in other. Water system noisy when you used water taps in bathroom

Review 24:Food at bar was excellent and great central location

Review 25:The lift wasn't working which we were aware of before arrival, it wasn't the end of the world but when we came back to hotel after a v long day with 3 kids it was just the last thing we wanted to do...climb 6 flights of stairs!

Review 26:The staff were so nice about everything we asked, they were very friendly in general!

Review 27:Nothing really - bathroom did'nt have a shower curtain suppose it may have been an issue for some people.

Review 28:Large room, friendly staff, location, nice breakfast.

Review 29:man in room 205 snored yhe whole night seen every hour and half hour on the clock very frustrating when you get a little break away yourselves ,with no kids and no sleep. I know this is not a reflection on the hotel but just wanted to say it , I did also inform girl at desk when checking out .

Review 30:we enjoy our stay ,it was convenient to town, great staff and lovely food overall highly recommended

Review 31:There was no lift, although we had been made aware that there was a new one being fitted. The breakfast buffet was a shambles. There was not enough staff, everything kept running out we had to sit at a dirty table. The poor girls were under severe pressure, but remained very friendly.

Review 32:The staff were lovely, the location ideal.

Review 33:Carpark next to the hotel is a separate entity. I thought maybe as hotel provides them with business they might have been able to validate parking, not the case but only a minor thing.

Review 34:Basic but everything we needed was there. Comfortable bed, Breakfast was good, Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 35:A lot of street noise, the room was very warm.

Review 36:Stayed after a wedding at the hotel. Rooms were very clean and staff were friendly. Great town centre location. Food was delicious!!

Review 37:2 things I didn't like was the fact we had to pay for our parking!and for some reason I wasn't allowed food Back into my apartment after my Night out, when I was staying in an apartment that had cooking facilities Anyway! Residents bar also closed Far too early

Review 38:The apartment was clean and comfortable and really spacious! Good Location! Walking distance From most shops and clubs!

Review 39:I had a friend stop by and leave a message for me at the front desk. I never received the message, and therefore missed the opportunity to meet with a long time friend.

Review 40:Location, restaurant and cleanliness

Review 41:Rooms a bit dated but still value for money! What looked like blood sparks on bedroom door.

Review 42:Fab location, lovely staff, gorgeous bar, nice food and great service!

Review 43:The boiler or(dont kno exactly what the booming noise was that kept me awake all night...terrible!!! wudnt stay here again on account of the noise..

Review 44:The staff & food, the bar area cud b improved on greatly as guests are a bit isolated coming into the bar while awaiting a table for food...

Review 45:Breakfast was very basic would like to see more fresh fruit not tinned and fat free yoghurts. Its the only thing that hasn't changed.

Review 46:New decor is lovely a real difference from a few years back. Lovely and clean.

Review 47:One breakfast was served from hotplates but was not very hot. Plug in Bath didn't keep water in and there was a dirty used plaster on floor at Edge of bed on arrival. This would not put me off visiting again and are only minor details.

Review 48:Very friendly staff, good food and great location

Review 49:We could hear the people in the next room through the walls and there was a lot of traffic noise from the street

Review 50:Great location, nice food in the restaurant and very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 51:Everything!! The staff were so friendly, the hotel was really clean and we booked a 2 bedroom apartment, which was excellent. There were 4 of girls in our group and we loved the apartment. Breakfast was really tasty and the service was excellent too. The location of this hotel is ideal and so central. We had an amazing weekend.

Review 52:The teapot at breakfast was just too small, it contained just over a cup of tea.

Review 53:Delicious food; I had a beautiful glass of wine with my dinner and the breakfast was almost perfect. Very comfortable room, very clean and welcoming. Staff were professional. I really liked how the shower curtain rod bowed outwards so there was more room than usual in the shower without that awful sensation of the shower curtain sticking to your skin.

Review 54:not sure I liked Letterkenny too much but only there for one night so perhaps it could grow on me.

Review 55:good central town location..great friendly helpful staff..relaxing stay..

Review 56:An okay hotel in an okay environment with an okayish breakfast. The price we paid (80€) was okay too. So nothing to be overwhelmed about, but nevertheless well... okay...

Review 57:Felt staff were more interested in tour bus and foreign visitors. It waspouring rain I asked if we could park outside hotel until we got our bagin and I got my crutch ....... No came the reply space reserved for tourbus no compromise made at all, also my husband went in to hotel when wearrived and was left standing while girl behind desk was talking onphone. He was there about 5 mins I then went in had about a 2 min waittill she finished her call

Review 58:Central location comfortable rooms

Review 59:Thin walls made for a bad night's sleep - could hear neighbour's tv followed by traffic noise.

Review 60:Comfortable room, good ensuite. Good breakfast, and particularly good that it's cooked to order. Hotel has greatly improved since my last stay 3 or 4 years ago.

Review 61:Didn't like the food.had chicken wings which were so overcooked and chips and potato skins.no flavour or taste to any of the food. Just tasteless.

Review 62:Loved the spacious rooms and big double bed which was so comfortable. Location fantastic.

Review 63:Didn't like music in bar, would've been nice to have country music to get crowd going!

Review 64:This Hotel was perfect for our w/end break. The Staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for us and the food delicious,(compliments to chef)can't wait to go back! Thankyou to each and every one of you!

Review 65:nothing

Review 66:this is a lovely hotel, very clean and staff were so friendly and helpful. the food was good especially breakfast and everything reasonably priced. was worried when we seen a few groups arriving but we never heard a thing and all slept well. an excellent hotel we are definitely going back.

Review 67:wifi initialy worked nicely but the second day was awful.no biscuits and drinking water in room.most of the hotels have free biscuits along with free coffee ,tea but here no biscuits. Also better to leave a still water bottle free for the customer in the room.

Review 68:staff help

Review 69:We travelled up from Carlow and it took 2hrs to get our room,we complained as people arrived after us received their rooms straight away, we were compensate with a free meal. The room was beautiful and the food was fantastic

Review 70:Wasnt a massive selection at the breakfast but then again i am a little greedy.

Review 71:Location and staff were second to none. Staff simply couldnt do enough for us this was our first weekend away with our newborn daughter and i would go back in a heartbeat. As a mater of fact we are going to rebook to go back before xmas.

Review 72:Parking is an issue as you need to park in the high rise facility next door and pay for overnight. WiFi not great in bedrooms.

Review 73:Staff were very friendly. Food was good.

Review 74:When checking out I was waiting for my mother at the reception desk and the receptionist on duty offered 2 different party's who were also checking out vouchers which entitled them to discount if they returned to Dillions in the future. The receptionist also enquired about their stay & appeared very pleasant and polite. When we handed in our key cards the same receptionist did'nt lift her head up,as she was chatting to another staff member and didn't engage in any conversation. The receptionist did not offer us a voucher nor utter the words 'goodbye'...

Review 75:Brealfast was excellent and you didn't need to ask for anything as it was there!

Review 76:A bar fridge would be nice.good to keep cool drinks and milk.

Review 77:Great bar and food efficient staff.the new modern furnishings and big comfortable beds. Fresh linen and great fluffy bath towels and must mention lovely room heater.

Review 78:Very poor breakfast selection compared with other hotels. No car parking for guests, had to use nearby car park and pay No bins in the bedroomd

Review 79:Great location, within walking distance of shops, restaurants etc

Review 80:Thought breakfast for a hotel in Ireland was poor.No excuse for budget bread, sausages etc. Bar food was good quality so can't understand this breakfast nonsense?

Review 81:Staff were friendly and knew what they were doing!

Review 82:People had to Que for the breakfast and wait long periods when the food ran out. Just a suggestion -if staff took toast and coffee orders and served them it would maybe speed things up .

Review 83:Comfort Friendly Staff Good food Very clean especially the toilets which is always a good sign Very good value for money

Review 84:Breakfast was a shambles. 15 minute queue due to layout of various items & Lack of management presence. Issue easily resolved with a little common sense. While food was fine the experience was awful

Review 85:Location was great , spacious room & comfortable bed

Review 86:Food in restaurant was overcooked and the salad was poor. There was an aftertaste of cooking oil. The rooms were done up but not the bath/shower A walk in shower is required baths are not.

Review 87:The decor was very tasty. The staff helpful and friendly. The location was good

Review 88:The lift is quite temperamental - very slow and door tends to open a number of times before it moves. Rooms to the front are quite noisy. Lacks pool/gym

Review 89:very central, clean and modern. Food is very good.

Review 90:Travelling with three young children, we didn't like the noise from people and pubs in the street which went on until 3:30 am. Very disappointed that the staff put us in rooms overlooking the main street when they knew that we had children with us :-(

Review 91:we liked the location.

Review 92:Car parking - a multi storey car park was available and beside hotel but still cost us €11 for 2 nights plus it closed at 9.30pm.

Review 93:Location of hotel and friendly staff

Review 94:Initial impression was good, friendly reception staff and recently renovated. It had new carpets in corridor and our room. Our room was a 2 bed apartment which was a pleasant suprise and looked nice. But when you looked close the place had been given a quick going over, new carpets, fresh paint but old laminate flooring, broken handles on press units. The bed was very uncomfortable and I did not get a good nights sleep. The mattress was old or cheap. Not sure if stay again

Review 95:I DIDN'T LIKE THE ROOM WE WERE IN AS I WAS AT THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING AND WAS VERY NOISY ALL NIGHT.WHEN I GO BACK I WANT THE BACK OF THE HOTEL.ALSO YOU NEED TO INVEST IN A BETTER TOASTER AS IT CREATED A VERY LOG QUEUE WHICH MEANT THE BREAKFAST WAS COLD BY THE TIME WE GOT OUR TOAST.

Review 96:THE LOCATION AND THE HOTEL WERE EXCELLENT, THE STAFF WERE HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY.

Review 97:Lifts are a bit clunky. I would have liked white or black pudding for breakfast and soda bread - but the poached egg and omelette were superb.

Review 98:Lovely helpful staff. Great omelette. Nice friendly caring atmosphere.

Review 99:Due to a stag/hen party on last two nights had to make a complaint as we requested a quiet room when booking- were refunded part of cost. So happy with that.

Review 100:Location, breakfast, staff helpful

Review 101:The Toilet didn't work that well & made a lot of noise & had to use a kettle to flush the toilet even when staff where informed. Boiler or emersion was also noisy, if you where deaf it was fine

Review 102:Nice bed & nice big rooms

Review 103:No bad experience. When we arrived, toilet wouldn't flush but I contacted reception and it was fixed promptly

Review 104:Central location, car park, friendly staff

Review 105:Our shower did not work and had use an alternitive room for a shower, which ment we had to treck up and down the hall.We got no compensation for this. When you pay the high price for a room you expect it to be in working order

Review 106:triple room had only two cup & saucers for tea facilities however 3 of us staying in the rm.

Review 107:The location of the hotel central to must things in town

Review 108:My only issue was the shower. Shower head should be replaced as nozzle spray was poor. Also pressure was too low. On the first night of my stay water temperature was too cold.

Review 109:Location in town cannot be beat. Staff were professional and friendly at all times. Bar food was delicious. Would stay again.

Review 110:The hotel interior was lovely, staff were friendly and extremely helpful. This hotel is right in the centre of town with a multi-story car park just out the back with a discounted hotel fee parking at €5 per night. I have stayed here twice with friends and enjoyed my stay on both occasions.

Review 111:when we arrived we were allocated a room on the top floor just as a team of workmen commandeered the lift to take beds and whatever up to the 2nd floor so we had to use the stairs which were in darkness as other workers had knocked off the power. Oh well, stuff happens. Double glazing would help eliminate late night noise from the street below.

Review 112:Location

Review 113:There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel!

Review 114:The stagf were very welcoming and friendly, everything needed was provided, food was excellent at the hotel bar and the location is brilliant walking distance from everything. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again.

Review 115:Apartment like room was like a run down flat, very old and bare. Bed and bathroom very clean though. To stay in hotel we had to pay 15 euro to park for two nights in carpark at back of hotel, although you can go in and out as often as you wish. would'nt put me off going back. They are refurbishing the rooms at present, will wait til then lol

Review 116:Staff very friendly, restaurant / bar was very good. Food excellent.

Review 117:Unfortunately our room was located beside the lift and every time someone walked through the hallway door it caused a lot of noise in our room which isn't a nice thing at 3 or 4 in the morning.

Review 118:Excellent value for money. Location was exactly what we were looking for.

Review 119:Corridor to room very cold and room quite cool on arrival (but warmed up over time). Lighting in bed part of room very dim and no bedside lamp - impossible to read in bed.

Review 120:Don't go down for breakfast if your hungry. Maybe go somewhere else for a bite to eat to tie you over for the long wait ahead for a simple fry up. Every morning was a wait time of up to 55 mins, with 4 people in the restaurant.

Review 121:Really nice facilities

Review 122:Refurbishment has made a big difference to this hotel. I look for forward to staying again once the rooms have been brought up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel

Review 123:Staff were excellent. ..friendly and welcoming

Review 124:Myself and a group of 9 ladies all stayed in the hotel over night for my hen party, it was a brilliant price, the staff were lovely, handy parking, clean rooms and comfy beds.. What more could u ask for!

Review 125:Would have preferred a king size bed. Breakfast was tasty but had to wait for food at buffet. Were slow in refilling the buffet dishes. Would have liked homemade brown bread. Unusual not to have it.

Review 126:Staff were excellent.

Review 127:Staff were excellent. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment, this did not disrupt our stay and if the standard that has been achieved so far is maintained throughout, I have no doubt it will be one of Letterkenny's best hotels. Will be staying again.

Review 128:On arrival the hotel was boarded up .we couldn't use most of the hotel the rooms where very basic and not at all what i expected, all in all i was very disappointed will not be back. Charging full price for bedrooms in a hotel that is being refurbished is not acceptable..

Review 129:The location

Review 130:The noise of the street cleaners at 6am was very anoying.

Review 131:The new bar and reception is fab. Staff very friendly, Loved the food 5 *. Can't wait to go back.

Review 132:Breakfast not included in price bedroom and corridors in need of upgrading heater in bedroom had been pulled free from wall and not fixed Parking had to be paid for separately poorly organised

Review 133:good central location inthe town friendly attentive staff

Review 134:friendly helpfully staff excellent food and good central location

Review 135:Ideal location, very helpfull staff even at nightime, excellent food, highly recommended!!!

Review 136:The hotel was cold but they did their best to heat it up

Review 137:The staff were friendly and so helpful
