Reviews for Connaught Guest House
Review 1:Nothing it was a lovely experience
Review 2:I have travelled the world and stayed at top hotels, but I never felt more welcome than I did at the Connaught Ann Marie and Ed where just lovely people, and what they have you could never put a price on
Review 3:The weather, but there´s nothing we can do about it
Review 4:The owner was very friendly and helpful and he made us feel very at home. This guest house might not be very big or luxurious, but the facilities were excellent and the location too!
Review 5:Heat control on shower was a bit dodgy and the window wouldn't open.
Review 6:Brilliant reception, friendliness to our puppy, breakfast really good, excellent location for puppy-walking near the river and excellent pub accessible from river path recommended by the owner on arrival.
Review 7:Really nice people, couldn't do enough for us. Very keen to help us with places to visit and eat. Comfy bed, great location, nice breakfast and great recommendations. Great places to eat and visit nearby. Highly recommended.
Review 8:Great staff - they go above and beyond what you expect in terms of the free breakfast, advice etc. Comfy beds, decent rooms though they could use a lick of paint and some minor repairs i.e. windows, however the price and service more than outweighs that. Great location too, close to Pembroke station, Pembroke castle and with a bus stop literally opposite.
Review 9:We arrived with 3 people but had planned on staying in a 2 person room to save money. The owner greeted us, decided we wouldn't be comfortable and insisted on upgrading us to a bigger room. They are friendly and accommodating people with a lovely hotel in a beautiful part of Wales!
Review 10:Amazing hospitality! The owners were extremely friendly and kind! Warm welcoming and atmosphere. The breakfast was superb! Wifi worked fast and reliable! Highly recommend to anyone!
Review 11:There wasn't anything that I didn't like. Would have been desirable to have bathroom on same floor as my room. Understand the complexities and layout of achieving this.
Review 12:Arrived 10:00pm, couldn't apologise enough. Owner genuinely didn't seem bothered. Allowed to keep my bike in my room. Perfect for what I wanted and neededOwner fed Iron Man Triathletes at 4:00am.
Review 13:Room was a bit cramped. Not spacious. No table or chairs to sit around. Fridge was a bit too loud at night but just turned it off.
Review 14:Room was great though a bit small. It did have a closet and dressing tables for longer stays. Great sized fridge. Separate toilet. Great location and the manager had great tips for eating out. The Gathering, an Indian restaurant was fab. Go there. There was a visitor book which was great too. Stay at this B&b. the manager was brilliant.
Review 15:Located only 500 yards from Pembroke Train Station the Connaught is great if you don't drive and rely on public transport. Staff very helpful and would check bus/train times if you needed. The trains are fairly regular and a great way to see the local area. Room had decent facilities, with tea/coffee making equipment, and fridge. Standard full English for breakfast is a must as it sets you up for a busy sightseeing day. Would book again if I decide to return to area.
Review 16:Having to go home!
Review 17:Ed was fantastic with my 5 yr old Rhys, nothing was too much trouble. Friendly relaxed atmosphere with excellent local knowledge, clean comfortable room and the bonus of having a fridge was a great idea. We will definitely be returning next year.
Review 18:Tiny bedroom with even smaller window. Minute bathroom with no shelves and no hooks. Where do you hang a wet towel?
Review 19:Good location, friendly staff, good breakfast.
Review 20:Only minor negative was the bed was very squeaky during the night.
Review 21:Very friendly hosts, lovely breakfast with lots of choice, very convenient parking right outside and excellent facilities - our room had a fridge. Would happily stay again, excellent value for money.
Review 22:The owners are very friendly and gave us great suggestions for things to do around Pembroke and the Coastal Path. The full cooked breakfast was great, especially the poached eggs, and there was fresh fruits, cereals, yoghurts and coffee, tea and juice.
Review 23:Initially I thought the room was dirty, as nets in bay window were very dirty
Review 24:Friendly owners, towels were changed daily, and bins emptied. Parking is directly outside, which was convenient. Owner was helpful regarding places to visit locally.
Review 25:You can hear everyone when people walk up and down the stairs. I could hear people having sex in the shower. Staff was a bit overly friendly. Bed was really uncomfortable and loud when you move around.
Review 26:The food was nice and size of the room was decent. Good shower and toilet facilities.
Review 27:The WiFi is not very reliable, one of the rooms we were using had a bathroom with no ventilation.
Review 28:The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Lovely breakfast, very generous - they even encouraged us to take some fruit, water, croissants for the journey! Thank you for such lovely hospitality.
Review 29:Absolutely fantastic! Helpful friendly! Nothing was to much to much trouble! Great for information help and advice! I would recommend the connaught to anybody! Thank you for everything Will Davies
Review 30:Avoid the rooms facing the road. There is a lot of traffic for such a small village, the French doors are old, single glazed, and draughty.
Review 31:The sausages made with the owner's pigs.
Review 32:Shabby quality of rooms, bed not so comfy. Room wasn't even set when we arrived, microwave and kettle weren't plugged in, no hand soap until asked for. Breakfast was basic and cooked food was greasy.
Review 33:Owner was lovely and v helpful. Cooked Breakfast was done as a take away sandwich as we were short of time.
Review 34:I can't think of anything whatsoever considering the price
Review 35:Genuinely friendly and helpful couple who couldn't have done anything more to feel welcome. Spotlessly clean. Single rooms were bigger than I expected. Great location at the quiet end of the High Street but close to all the shops and restaurants. Best WiFi I've ever experienced in a hotel regardless of cost or star rating.
Review 36:Great location, friendly host, very accommodating, very close to everything. Beautiful room - very spacious, clean and comfortable. Host even had Welsh cakes waiting on our arrival. Would recommend.
Review 37:Unfortunately my mattress in room one was the most uncomfortable ever with plastic coated springs pushing through on my body . Hardly slept but as we were only there one night so no complaint . Ed try the mattress for a night or few hours .Sorry !
Review 38:The Breakfast was cooked by Ed the owner . Really pleasant food . Great sausages
Review 39:We made the booking at short notice due to changed travel plans and the owners could not have been more helpful. We had to leave at 1am for a ferry but they still got up and prepared us a packed breakfast and saw us off. They took a genuine interest in our plans which made us feel really welcome. The accommodation was excellent and very central to town, and there was easy free parking right outside. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
Review 40:Ed and Ann-Marie are a lovely couple who bend over backwards to make sure you enjoy your stay. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful,I would definitely stay again if I was coming back to the area

Review 50:Very nice welcome and helpful pleasant owners, nothing was too much trouble for them to help you if it was needed. We also we had a very nice full breakfast and a lovely spacious family room to stay in.
Review 51:Being in a room that faced on the main road meant traffic and bright street lamps. The curtains didn't block out the lamp light so it was quite light in the room at night.
Review 52:Staff we're amazingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a generous spread with lots to choose from. The beds were comfortable and clean. The toilet and shower facilities were clean.

Review 55:Wonderful Welsh town in beautiful scenery. The guest house is centrally located, with lovely hosts and all the expected amenities. Our hosts were so helpful in suggesting places to go and things to do, and allowed us to bring bikes with us. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.
Review 56:there was a street light just in front of our room and the curtains are not thick enough, so I'd have needed an eye mask.. Mattress so and so. As usual booking.com says "last room at this price!" and then the b&b was almost empty.. so depending on your destination sometimes is better to go and search for a place to sleep, it could be cheaper
Review 57:the b&b was quiet, maybe because there were not so much people. I loved the fact that our host asked us what we wanted for breakfast, and I had a fantastic full english breakfast cooked at the moment
Review 58:Nothing

Review 65:Noisy room at sleeping hours by the traffic on the road. I specifically asked for a quiet room!. Owners should have warned me that there was no quiet room available. Then I would have booked elswhere.
Review 66:Bed was good , Breakfast was good. It was clean.
Review 67:The front room is a bit noise since no double glazed window. The towel should be changed daily; but it is just folded up, then I found the same dirts.
