Reviews for Margado

Review 1:The bed was not really comfortable and we cool hear noises coming from other rooms

Review 2:Stella was a great host. The location is really quiet and convenient, the breakfast is good and the swimming pool is really nice.

Review 3:As others have commented, the view comes at the cost. On foot, the property is reached by steps and a steep hill - but we managed it twice a day and are glad we did.

Review 4:Beautifully designed and well maintained small hotel. Excellent views from good sized balcony. Very welcoming owner who met us at the port and took us back when we left. Excellent breakfast that can be enjoyed on the terrace. Quiet location.

Review 5:This was an exceptional place to stay, the hotel staff was very welcoming, I cannot thank Mrs Stella enough for her hospitality, if you are going to sifnos I would highly recommend staying here.

Review 6:A steep 10 minute climb from the town to Margado, but you get a good view for the effort.

Review 7:Great welcome and useful advice from Stella. Lovely breakfasts with something different on offer each day on top of all the Greek standards. Excellent room and the whole place looks loved and cared for.

Review 8:While Stella picked us up from the port and dropped us back again at the end of our stay, be warned, the 300 m walk to Margado from the port is very steep – you have to pay for the great views!

Review 9:We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights at Margado. Stella was a wonderful host. The view from our room over the port area was endlessly fascinating with the ferries coming and going. Margado was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was excellent. Our room was very comfortable. Kamares was a great place to be based, with all the good food available along the main street and the regular, if slightly infrequent, bus service to the rest of the island.

Review 10:A small kettle in the room could be handy at times.

Review 11:I'm sure I cannot add to the other praises found here on the net. Stella and her team are so welcoming, so very kind and capable and make it look like no work at all. All the details are taken care of. In one word superb!

Review 12:Un accueil excpetionnel de Stella plein de petites attentions et un cadre confortable (taille des chambres, propreté impeccable, piscine, WiFi...) et très agréable à moins de 5 min du centre du port.

Review 13:My husband and I hadn't planned to stay in Kamaras, but a last minute change of plans had us making a spontaneous reservation at Margado. We chose it for it's high reviews and were happily surprised to find it even nicer than we expected. The proprietress (Stella) is so lovely and has created a lovely intimate hotel. Simple with a beautiful pool courtyard area for breakfast. I would have stayed several nights if I had known!

Review 14:Stella picked us up at the port and took us back when we left. She gave us good tips during our stay and was very nice. The pool area was cozy. The hotel, room and balcony were well entertained. Very good Cycladic atmosphere.

Review 15:Location (view on the sea) Stella, the owner (she is exceptional) Comfort Beautiful room and balcony Food (Breakfast) Cleanliness of room and hotel Pool

Review 16:That our stay was too short.

Review 17:Stella´s total dedication to her guests. Whatever you need she is ready to help you. An example of the above: She came to pick us up from our ferry trip at midnite as there were delays due to bad weather conditions. She was on top of everything. The rooms we had were both very nice, clean and with great views. The swimming pool although small, it is great to have a dip after a day.

Review 18:Very helpful and kind host. Quiet surroundings. Very god breakfest.

Review 19:Leaving

Review 20:Great view, close to port, would recommend. Stella was charming and very helpful and upgraded us to a room with a magnificent terrace.

Review 21:nothing

Review 22:everything

Review 23:The kindness of the owner, her good tips for visiting the Island, the swimming pool in the hôtel with the Nice pool aeria around

Review 24:Staff were super friendly, great location and nice breakfast, had a relaxing pool with great views

Review 25:very hard to reach for handicaped persons. Pictures of pool are associating a bigger pool

Review 26:very friendly family run hotel with charme

Review 27:Air conditioner was not so good, which made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep.

Review 28:Very concietous and helpful staff picked us up at the port and gave us a very good recommendation for touring

Review 29:Our second stay with Stella and it was as good as the first time. Stella always adds that personal touch. Up the hill away from the madding crowd. Beautiful breakfast served alongside the pool, lovely setting.

Review 30:Stella was absolutely wonderful - so helpful and always has a smile on her face. The pool is beautifully clean and like an oasis on a hot day. Breakfast consisted of gorgeous Greek yoghurt, honey, breads with hams and cheeses, fresh fruit, cereals, local fresh cakes etc.Very clean throughout the hotel also. A very big thank-you to Stella and her family for making us so welcome in their beautiful hotel. We will definitely be back! Sally and Isabelle xx

Review 31:The bathroom is relatively small (shower curtain sticks to your body), but in the newer rooms this problem has been solved with walk in shower (no more shower curtain). The decoration in the room is relatively simple (bare).

Review 32:Great little pool, Stella (owner) is super friendly and helpful (speaks French), little fridge in the room, good internet connection (soon also at the pool). It is at the end of the street at the foot of the mountain so it is very peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of the main street (but only 5 min to walk down - 15 minutes to climb up again). Rooms have a little terrace with comfortable garden chairs and table. Personal pickup service at the port when you arrive. Aircon. Anti-mosquito device in room. Sunday traditional chick pea soup - yummy.

Review 33:Steep access to the hotel: mayby difficult for older people, but it didnot bother us.

Review 34:Very friendly welcoming owners Good taste in everything, for instancethe decoration of the hotel, the breakfast room... Perfect informationabout bus schedules on the island, taxis etc. Lovely pool Excellentbreakfast.

Review 35:The fridge was noisy so had to turn it off over night. Some people maybe put off by the steepness of the hill to Margado but if you are fit it's no problem or if you rent a car. These were minor things and in no way detracted from our stay at Margado or of the wonderful island of Sifnos.

Review 36:The accommodation was lovely and the view was super. Loved the pool, the breakfast and the friendliness of Stella and her husband.

Review 37:Margado is located atop a hill right in Sifnos' port city of Kamares. It's cozy, friendly and comfortable. We only stayed in Sifnos for one night, but we wished we stayed longer. The pool is cool with fantastic views of the mountains, our room had a balcony overlooking the port and the beach is just a short 10 minute walk away. Stella was so accommodating and even presented us with small gifts for Easter upon our arrival. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was top notch.

Review 38:The many steps to reach it from the town.

Review 39:Loved the pool and the family. Very friendly hotel.

Review 40:Everything was top notch! We were picked up from the port, given very helpful advice, enjoyed swimming in the pool. A great place to stay in Sifnos.

Review 41:Great pool area and breakfast, fantastic location and a very kind hostess. Pick-up service from the harbour.

Review 42:Stella very friendly & helpful. Good size room with fantastic view. Very good breakfast
