Reviews for David Dead Sea Resort & Spa

Review 1:The staff have to have a better beheviour for This kind of hotel I have to insist 3 Times to get a menu for the room service The dinner was realy expensive for what it was offered The room service was Not complète The fact that we have to pay before eating ! The mini bar empty No Water fontain

Review 2:The view from the room The death Sea swimming pool The breakfast

Review 3:Dirty bathroom and No clean towels in room and only 2 bath towels delivered. We told that the maintenance inspector would be right up to check the room but no show after an hour. We left only to find no change in the room when returned. No one ever showed up. Found dirty used bathrobe in closet. Reported such but no response. After 5 calls and/or trips to the front desk, still no towels showed nor did the cleaning service. Had to shower with dirt and sand on the floor of the shower and use the one towel that we had received. No bathmat towel and almost slipped coming out of the shower as it was wet, sandy and dirty. Disgusting. When tried to speak to a manager, we were told that no one was available, etc. Left phone numbers for him to call but no response. Finally dealt with it via email when returned home. There are no excuses for not finishing cleaning a room nor not addressing the situation as soon as it is brought to attention of the front desk (since no management could ever be available).

Review 4:Nice common area facilities and great breakfast selection

Review 5:Food, staff were both 'hit and miss'. And the hotel needed cleaning and maintenance in several of the main areas.

Review 6:The guest rooms were clean and well designed.

Review 7:the rooms and especially the bathroom were not clean at all!!! The hotel also need an entire refurbishment.

Review 8:perfect location at the dead sea. spacious rooms, nice view, food ok

Review 9:Very expensive supper, long way to the Dead Sea, absence of the orientation indicators on the first floor (SPA, restaurant, pool...)

Review 10:Wonderful room, breakfast, hotel in general, service, SPA.

Review 11:Very tired walls, paint, pictures. I am very upset with mold growing in the shower, and other areas in the hotel. This can be easily remedied and is not . The hotel is VERY short staffed and the front desk personnel while very pleasant and helpful are powerless

Review 12:Great spa treatments, practical pricing. I highly recommend Rafael for Ned massage if your in need.

Review 13:Too bad the pool and Gym close at 18:00. Buffet is good, but lots of starving people fighting for the biggest plate full of food, as if they were going to starve in the Desert. We could not order drinks during Dinner, as we did not have a credit card at the reception. The Reception did not ask for it. Perhaps this was the reason that 95% of tables were drinking only water (?). Staff wasn't very prepared to speak English. The reception was not prepared to solve problems, and rather tried to sell upgrades bringing to a tense conversation.

Review 14:The Superior Room was large enough to well accommodate our family with two young kids in separate beds. Very nice view from the balcony. Bed was larger than a kind size (if this is possible to exist :)).The Floating Pools with Dead Sea water, the external Pools, and the Spa were highlights. The Live Music from Silvania brought action to the night.

Review 15:This was a last minute decision, and one that I'm incredibly happy I made. The hotel is awesome: cleanliness, staff, location, and overall. Best of all- the breakfast was pure food heaven.

Review 16:I did not find the cleaning staff very pleasant. Also, I was a bit disappointed that my room balcony did not get any sun .Also....more directions inside the Hotel re facilities, in English, would be helpful..

Review 17:The bedroom & bathroom were excellent. Air con excellent. The reception staff very pleasant (though they gave me wrong directions for autobus stop.)! The pools very good, and plenty of places to sit outside.

Review 18:POOR restaurant choices besides breakfast it was very limited and repeated every night 0 English speaking staff I needed a doctor and he was awful!

Review 19:Location and beach

Review 20:the cleanliness and the item in the room needed up dating like water taps , like tea and coffee cups (i don't like plastic) staff in dining room hardly smile service in the pool very poor

Review 21:the food and the bed i would love to come again after you improved or up dated please let me know

Review 22:The carpets were stained beyond belief. Furniture, doors, and walls in our room was damaged. The buffet area at breakfast was not clean (smell at beverage area and broken dishes and debris all behind the counter). The area between the indoor and outdoor pools was boarded up with plywood. The whole hotel looked like it was nice at one point but has been poorly maintained and let go. You have to take a shuttle to the beach. There are nicer hotels right on the water for the same price. Please do not waste your money on this place.

Review 23:The room was spacious. The manager let us cancel our second night so we were able to switch to another hotel due to being so dissatisfied.

Review 24:The staff at the reception still need some lessons in genuine customer service ,really going out their way in a friendly way to satisfy the customer

Review 25:nice hotel and basically everything is OK

Review 26:very bad service they didn't tell me before that the private beach to the dead sea was under construction i had to walk 15 minutes on a shabat to a public beach... their excuse was "see the sign outside of the hotel" are you kidding me? another customer was injured seriously and management simply told him to drive himself to the hospital or they can arrange an ambulance but the customer will have to pay for the transport... is this a 2 star or a 5 star hotel? due to shabat i asked before (written and phone - and got the confirmation) to stay longer on saturday... i asked friday evening just to be sure and they told me that i had to leave the room at 2. after arguing with them they let me stay this was the last time i stayed in this hotel... this was a horrible experience.. i had to call them and ask that someone would come and clean up the room... simply horrible hotel!

Review 27:nice view

Review 28:Staff wasn't very nice, especially when I called room service. They hung up on me a good few times.

Review 29:Breakfast was amazing. Cleaner than all reviews suggested.

Review 30:i had to pay over 900 nis for 3 dinners in the hotel and i think its to much but you can always fine a great deals

Review 31:i loved everything there 4 days was great there

Review 32:more tea bags in the room please I don't drink coffee.

Review 33:Nice lobby to hang out in with an ala carte menu restaurant that we preferred to the hotel buffet dinner. Close to the beach and the little shopping center. My husband enjoyed running in the morning. We visited Masada and Qumran nearby.

Review 34:Crowded Spa area, Few people spoke English, EVERYTHING in Israel takes forever to get(food wise) But the bar area was quiet..

Review 35:The Room was Cozy, great view of the water, Massage was great, Short drive to Shops/Beach

Review 36:-The free beach the front desk sends you to is awful. It is surrounded by cranes and overturned mud and dirt from construction. Construction workers and tractors surround you with loud ruckus and gawking as you try to relax and float. Water at the small beach as a sheen of oil or some other chemical floating on the surface and refuse was floating across the surface. Horrible experience for a first time visit to the Dead Sea. We packed our kids up and drove to Ein Gedi to experience the crystal blue water and beautiful calm of the Dead Sea. - Room was not clean, encrusted sauce and rice from the last occupants dinner on my bed stand. - Sliding door to deck was broken and door could not be locked/latched closed. - Door to the room had a rickety latch system in place and no means of latching the door locked from the inside which means anyone with a swipe card could access the room while you are sleeping or inside. - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Review 37:-Nice sea view -Nice Lobby -Plenty of parking -Close to restaurant Taj Majal which was great.

Review 38:it didn't cater well for English only speakers in terms of the following - the children's camp agenda only written in hebrew, the nightly entertainment only advertised in hebrew, the phone in the room only had hebrew buttons. The reception staff were not forthcoming with advice or information about hotel facilities. the beach was under construction but the hotel bus still dropped us there even though the main beach was only a short drive and much better. Children under 16 not allowed in the indoor pool and outdoor one not heated. No playground for children.

Review 39:the Spa, the food, the room, the location.

Review 40:The daily charges The staff attitude General condition of the room furnishings and hotel interior

Review 41:The food The conference hall Conference Hall lobby

Review 42:Spa was expensive Food buffet was not worth the money. Staff service was terrible .didnot speak English. Had to change our room 3 times.

Review 43:The spa was very good

Review 44:Very unfriendly staff, no one smiles, no welcome greeting, no effort on part of any staff members to even try and communicate in English. It seems like there is very low staff moral.

Review 45:Nice size rooms overlooking the sea, with lovely balcony to enjoy an exquisite view of the dead sea. Fantastic Israeli breakfast, lovely grounds, pools etc

Review 46:Some people at the reception desk were rude, with the exception of a dark-looking girl. The facilities were Ok, but two walkers were not working in the spa (out of 4, 50%). The overflow dining room was pitiful, despite the fact that the staff were trying their best. Dirty chairs, ugly decor...Quite disappointing really.

Review 47:Food was good. The solarium is good (but is wrongly positioned at 50 m above Dead Sea level)..

Review 48:For some reason every time I left my room and came back, my room key did not work and I had to go back to reception to get a new key. Every time I left the room.

Review 49:The setting of the hotel is fantastic and I was there for a conference which the staff handled very well.

Review 50:Everything, from the hallways to the shower handles, is falling apart. Common Areas - The hallway carpet was stained beyond explanation. - Not all of the elevator lights worked. - The pool is cracked and falling apart throughout. There is green lifeforms where white grout should be, between the tiles. - The pool slide was blocked off not by rope, but by two deck chairs, to let you know you could not use it. As in, two deck chairs were casually laid across the slide so you couldn't use it. Classy. In the two rooms we had: - The staff was untrained. As an example, even though we had turned on the "Do not disturb" light, my wife got walked in on during a shower! - The shower didn't drain quickly enough such that the bathroom flooded. - The clothesline didn't retract. It hung in the shower, sad and limp. - The curtains were falling off of the curtain rail. They were also torn, and wouldn't open. Really. - One chair was broken in the seat. - One of the bedroom doors had been kicked in (and not repaired.) - The refrigerator would not close without a make-shift lock. - The shower door handle was hanging from the door. - The rugs were stained. - One of the balcony doors couldn't be opened.

Review 51:- The lobby was deceptively nice. Everything was in order, clean and unbroken. - The pool area was decent if you didn't look closely at how everything is falling apart. The size of the pool was nice. - The food was good. - The club lounge was pleasant and in stark contrast to the rest of the hotel.

Review 52:facilities not well-maintained. Room was large, but a bit dingy. Television was literally hanging askew off the wall. One light didn't work, a power outlet was dangerously hanging out of the wall. Wi-Fi was almost worthless. Definitely overpriced at $200+/night, but probably not a lot of competition.

Review 53:good location; extensive, good-quality breakfast; surface appearance of public spaces. Staff was very friendly, and no problems with a late check-in.

Review 54:Some stuff didn't work initially (door lock on balcony, safe) but the management immediately sent a repairman who instantly took care of everything.

Review 55:Food is amazing, staff is polite, pools are wonderful.

Review 56:The staff were unhelpful and pretty rude, charged us extra because we didn't have passports on us, even though they never told us that we would need them.

Review 57:The facilities were good-large pool area, solarium, sulfur pool, treatment baths

Review 58:Dead Sea Beach without bathroom and very small, you have to go by foot. Surrounding area of fresh water pool dirty and smells. Life-guard shouts and commands everybody to get out 15 min before closing time of the pool.

Review 59:Location, pools, nice room and breakfast.

Review 60:I knew this hotel from his former "lifes" as Hyatt and Meridien and was a little reticent. The price was more than right through Booking, so I took the chance. The hotel was reshaped and there are still areas in repairs - but it's not very visible. The room was clean, cosy with an ENORM bed. Beautiful bathroom with bath and shower. The breakfast and all the food in general were varied and very fresh. There is a beach but you have to take the mini-car from the lobby, to say the truth the dead sea pool at the hotel was enough, the same water without the sun (or with the sun in the pool outside). But the best feature of this hotel is its pools...beautiful, lot of space, the hotel was full but we did not feel it. I already want to go back. Room Tip: Best asked for upper floors - all renovated and better view to the dead sea.

Review 61:The lunch and dinner were extremely expensive. So we did not eat there except for the breakfast. Closing the pool at 6pm was very upsetting, since it is so hot in the Dead Sea. We were very disappointed about that.

Review 62:The food was very good, although there were a lot of people eating at the same time.

Review 63:The head manager( not segal) made you feel as if she did you the biggest favor that she let you stay there!!! And if you wanted to understand your bill, she thought you want to rob her!!

Review 64:The beds, food, facilities, basically everything!!

Review 65:Reception staff were professional but not very friendly. Swimming pool was crowded (large upper pool was closed).

Review 66:Sea view, room comfort, lovely bathroom, exceptional breakfast.

Review 67:very noisy all over the hotel and reception staff were not very helpful. There should also perhaps be someone on reception who knows English so they can assist tourists.

Review 68:my visit was too short to comment

Review 69:Not much entertainment

Review 70:Excellent location. Friendly staff. Good food, comfortable rooms.

Review 71:too far from the beach

Review 72:the food

Review 73:Stuff at the dining room not helpful at all!!!

Review 74:Location

Review 75:Air conditioning in room not working and lifts overcrowded

Review 76:The food

Review 77:Trearments are very expensive & saw a cockcroach running on the dinnerplate

Review 78:Overall everything was nice

Review 79:Super))

Review 80:Not on shore line

Review 81:No one seemed to care about problems we had

Review 82:The staff was really rude. At the beach after check out you don't exist anymore. Room service very inefficient. Bad experience. Not anymore

Review 83:The gym is not clean and few machines are out of order. We expected better breakfast ( more food selection )

Review 84:The construction on the beach, and the sound of the air conditioning from the porch, were disturning

Review 85:Hotel beach is still on renovation..(((

Review 86:Room is very nice, quite spacious, better than regular 5-star hotel room in Israel.

Review 87:Staff needs to learn some English.

Review 88:Massage from ilana.

Review 89:The perfect place to relaxe at'

Review 90:Everything was awful

Review 91:Lunch buffet was not good and very pricey. Breakfast was awful food and staff was rude and unhelpful.

Review 92:The swimming pools.

Review 93:Food is awful. Staff worthless.

Review 94:Room, pool, spa are awsome.

Review 95:Messages were not received. One that did get through was totally incorrect.

Review 98:Generally an amazing experience

Review 99:none to report

Review 100:the dead sea water inside spa

Review 102:all is good

Review 103:Dad Sea

Review 104:No coffee, tea, or any hot beverages during dinner

Review 105:The personal of the hotel are not so kind when you are not native hebrew.

Review 106:The location of this hotel is excellent, clean and...big.

Review 107:Everything was perfect and as promised. Cannot imagine a better place.

Review 108:Room dusty- twin beds to low to ground_ Floor icarpet & chairs soiled. Bugs smashed on wall:)

Review 109:Breakfast was good

Review 110:The room, balcony, bathroom, bed, pool, even TV were king size, meals very good, staff very helpful, maybe they only need a bit more organization.

Review 111:Nothing stands out.I did not like the food.I did not like the beach.

Review 112:Poorly positioned for access to the sea so we stayed elsewhere

Review 113:Everything-food room -spa

Review 114:No wi fi , no towels for pool no shade for pool and very late check in

Review 115:Breakfast

Review 116:The staff!!!!

Review 117:vacation standard - staff in restaurant do not speak English

Review 118:Old hotel

Review 119:STAY AWAY. The hotel seemed like it was "tired" but okay. We had a pleasant dinner and hung out we thought everything was fine until one of us woke up the next morning with red bumas all over the legs -- flea bites. STAY AWAY.

Review 120:The work around the hotel, the apparent inexperience of the staff, the little detaisl missing in the room, the fact that there was no improvement whatsoever.

Review 121:As always, when it had another name, the location, the good taste of the furniture, the food.

Review 122:The dining room with no windows was clausterphobic. They tried to downgrade my room since I got such a good price (on booking.com) and I had to prove I had a suite with the confirmation printout that it's a good thing I had.

Review 123:The price for a suite(from booking.com) & the salt water pool on premises and the dining room with big windows.

Review 124:Rooms cheaply furnished w poor taste. Staff needs better training

Review 125:Breakfast buffet is amazing. View from rooms is great and rooms andbathrooms are spacious for Israel.

Review 126:beautifull place food excellent adult lounge excellent room nice bathroom not so clean though but lovely place we weren't there long enough would come back again

Review 127:Very poor WiFi connection. A bad meal selection during Saturday (Shabbat) breakfast. Unpleasant male staff in sulfur pool spa.

Review 128:Executive room was excellent. We liked a king sized bed which was comfortable. Breakfast was included in price. Overall, good value for the money.

Review 129:This is one of the worst run hotels I've ever seen. The staff is incredibly rude and does not follow through. I never got my wake up call. Carpets in hallway ragged and the place looks like it needs a paint job. For the money I paid, I got robbed.

Review 130:breakfast
