Reviews for B&B Charme Il Dito E La Luna
Review 1:Everything was good
Review 2:Perfect location and really cozy room. This b&b is right at the center of town in a nice building. The family who owns it was very friendly and gave us a very good breakfast. I really liked this experience and I strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting Caltagirone.
Review 3:None regarding accommodation.Driving through narrow streets to get there is not for nervous driver's. Be sure to get a small car i.e not a 4x4
Review 4:donnatella and giovanni very kind. Though my Italian was poor we were able to have good conversation. They helped with my luggage and parking the car.
Review 5:Very welcoming hosts Beautiful spacious, airy bedroom Good selection at breakfast Good location to see the village and fabulous view from the steps (although if struggle with walking/ stairs it could be difficult)
Review 6:Wonderful owners, very large room, quiet, small BnB, friendly, modern in an ancient building and spotlessly clean, delicious breakfast and lunch if you want, courtyard to sit as long as you want and view life on La Scala
Review 7:Could add signs to direct viditors or add instructions to help find the place. A bit pricy for such a small not very touristy town, price was much higher than the booking said and the hosts had very poor English so it was hard to understand the reason.
Review 8:Located in the middle of the famous ceramic stairs, very clean and beautifully designed, great breakfast and friendly hosts
Review 9:Great location - 2/3 up the stairs "Scala di S. Maria del Monte" , room decoration and size, furniture, extremely nice welcome from the owners, fantastic breakfast; Tip: Park your car on top of the hill behind the church and walk down to Il Dita e la Luna.
Review 10:I emailed requesting 2 beds for me and my adult son but no response. We arrived and met Donatella. She escorted us to our room on the ground floor of her home. The room had 1 bed. Luckily, the other room with 2 beds was available. She switched rooms and problem solved. I would not recommend these rooms for couples doing a quiet, romantic get away or like to sleep in. You can hear living noises from upstairs: rattling pans, clinking dishes and foot traffic up & down stairs. Breakfast was inconsistent. Our final breakfast offered no ham or fresh pecorino as in the previous days. They served the aged (stronger) pecorino with the whole black peppers which, would be great with salumi, but there wasn't any.
Review 11:The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable and clean. I stayed in the two level apartment two years ago and would recommend that if it is available. It is quiet and has a great view of the city. Breakfast the first two days offered a limited selection of ham and proscuitto, fresh and aged cheeses, honey and a selection of preserves, bread and pastry. Great location if you can handle stairs!
Review 12:Travelers should know that the location has its good and bad points. The B&B is located approximatly 3/4 of the way up the 142 steps of the Scala. A tough climb but the views are beautiful.
Review 13:Spacious, beautifully decorated apartment like accomodations. Our host, Giuseppe, and hostess, Donatella, couldnt have been more gracious or helpful. The accomidations were located fight on the magnificent Scala Santa Maria del Monte. Nice breakfast a few steps away in their cafe. ground floor
Review 14:Nothing
Review 15:The room, actually two rooms sitting room downstairs bedroom and bathroom upstairs, was lovely, location excellent the owners delightful and very helpful
Review 16:We liked everything about it.
Review 17:There is nothing not to like about this B&B. Note well: your sat nav cannot locate this B&B as it is situated half way up La Scala - The Steps. You must approach on foot.
Review 18:Very friendly owners who helped us to park the car and to carry our luggages from the car to the B&B, the room was well-decorated and very clean, very good restaurant suggestion.

Review 25:Great location and very friendly owners.
Review 26:Guiseppi and Donatella were extremely welcoming and helpful; the room was immaculate, the breakfast excellent.
Review 27:The stairs, not easy to reach
Review 28:Location, friendness
Review 29:Excellent breakfast
Review 30:Access is by a large number of stairs - about 50 and you need to be very fit, as to get to restaurants etc there is about 70 more steps !
Review 31:Proximity to sights
Review 32:The breakfast was between scarce and miserable. It is served in an area with a professional kitchen and the only things offered are pre-package products. Eggs, bacon, waffles, toast, something warm...Buehler? If you are into Italian breakfasts you will love the the single croissant and cookies. If you are anyone else, you will leave starving like us.
Review 33:If you are coming to visit the stairway, this hotel is literally half-way up them. The room was the nicest we stayed in during a 9-day Sicily swing. The owner is chatty, but really nice and cares greatly about the hotel.
Review 34:Very nice and stylist apartment with amazing view from the balcony. Caltagirone itself is well preserved old city with tiny streets and great ceramics.
Review 35:not about this B & B, but about the transportation of the city, bus service is very poor, I couldn't find any taxi there, so I had to walk all the way to the city center from the station.
Review 36:I had a difficulty in communicating with the owner, but that was not a problem. I enjoyed my stay fully. The location was excellent too.
Review 37:The location is a bit awkward half-way up an immense and famous flight of public stairs. We did not mind but older people might especially in summer.
Review 38:Great and central place to stay at for one or two nights. Donatella the hostess is extremely friendly and helpful. The room is cosy, tastefully decorated and immaculate. Comfortable bed. We loved it.
Review 39:La Scala was daunting upon arrival and did not get any easier. Just a little unfortunate.
Review 40:The ambience of the property is unsurpassed. The friendliness and willingness to assist was wonderful. It was unexpected luxury at an affordable tarrif was unexpected.
Review 41:Located close to the top of the historic Scala, Charme Il Dito E La Luna provided the perfect base to explore Caltagirone and the world of Sicilian ceramics. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Review 42:Tried to phone owner beforehand but she doesn't speak English. Ended up with a parking nightmare - only resolved when the tourist office phoned the owner who came and drove our car to a suitable spot.
Review 43:Brilliant location near the top of the famous 142 steps, with a small balcony overlooking them. Spacious and comfortable and tasteful. Owner very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyable altogether.
Review 44:The finish of the bedroom was excellent. Would stay there again.
Review 45:No Wi Fi inside
Review 46:Beautifully furnished and interesting framed photographs of local area.
Review 47:A really lovely place to stay. We were made to feel so welcome by the brilliant owner. We would go back just to see the steps!
Review 48:The place was absolutely stunning and the location was perfect
Review 49:The owner was terrific. She helped us find an amazing restaurant in town. The room was spectacular!
Review 50:remoteness of owner who could not speak English. Difficult location in middle of medieval part of town. No WIFI
Review 51:new, clean appartment
