Reviews for Rathmore House Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:Nothing.
Review 2:So welcoming and friendly. With tea and scones on arrival overlooking the bay, you couldn't ask for a better location. Felt like a home away from home. The coffee... real, strong and rich!
Review 3:The welcome by Marguerite was just lovely, the big dormitory style room was a change, the view delightful. A hearty breakfast before setting off on the road was appreciated by us all.
Review 4:nada
Review 5:came as group of four men on bikes...arrived late and wet..had the gear dried overnite and a prompt lift to nearby rstraunt...late breakfast..hot showers and a good room with four beds..staff great.
Review 6:Comfortable accommodation in a beautiful, idyllic setting. Hosts, Marguerite and Mia, are genuinely the friendliest, most hospitable couple you could wish to meet. The food, including homemade breads etc, is delicious and makes the most of fresh local ingredients. I will be staying with them again soon.
Review 7:We really enjoyed our stay at Rathmore house B&B. The view from our room was stunning and Margaret was a great host. The bed very comfortable, the shower had great water pressure and the breakfast had a good choice of cold and hot dishes. I would recommend it to friends and family without any doubt and would love to come back one day.
Review 8:Very nice people! No extra fee or deposit or whatsoever for a dog, very positive experience!! Beautiful, clean, spacious room, very comfortable beds with bed warmers, excellent!! It was all beyond our expectations.
Review 9:We only stayed for one night, but nevertheless, our host made us fees very welcome. The house is beautifully located and we had a great view over the bay. We also loved the breakfast! The homemade scones were divine!
Review 10:Shower room was cold in the morning.
Review 11:Sweetest hostess- scones & tea on arrival, open fires and comfy, warm beds, thick towels. Delicious full breakfast in the morning. Pub close by with great food.
Review 12:(Our dumb little Skoda rental car could hardly make it up the grade to the parking area.)
Review 13:Just about everything. Pleasant greetings Nice room, nice lounge, afternoon tea incl., Great breakfast, good service.
Review 14:The owner was great and so sweet. Welcomed us with fresh coffee and scones. The bedroom/bathroom was very clean, comfortable and spacious for 3 single ladies and the view was amazing. The Irish breakfast was delicious!!! Will definitely come back again. It felt like staying at grandma's house.
Review 15:A little hike from the village of Baltimore on roads with no pavement. (3km) At night this might be a little dangerous if you are walking
Review 16:Very clean Comfortable beds Good breakfast Very friendly and welcoming host Great local pub for food just round the corner
Review 17:Nothing
Review 18:Margeurite was lovely and helpful. We were welcomed with scones on arrival. The view from the room was incredible and breakfast was really nice. Great shower.
Review 19:Loved everything except that one bed!
Review 20:Rathmore House's situation is wonderful and the house is beautiful. The breakfast was great and the owner very helpful. I'm only rating the bed as fair as my 93 year-old mother-in-law had a terrible night. The springs on her single bed were very evident and she likened it to lying on a bed of nails! To be fair, my husband and I spent a very comfortable night in our room. Apart from that we thought Rathmore House was a great place to stay when visiting the Baltimore area!
Review 21:Great views over the bay. Clean comfortable room. Very friendly owner who went the extra mile - tea and scones with homemade jam on arrival, excellent breakfast
Review 22:The large family room had four beds (one double and three singles). We had four people in our room, but you could easily fit five very comfortably. The breakfast was quite good as well. The quaint town itself was a quick drive down the road. A little off the beaten path, but well worth it.
Review 23:Bathroom needs to be upgraded as do the beds and the TV (smallest ever). Not close to Baltimore at all and you can't walk there as there is no footpath. This is clearly not the properties fault, but be warned!
Review 24:Great breakfast, super-friendly host, lovely views.
Review 25:Having to leave!!!!!!!!! We would have loved to stay longer - it was great
Review 26:This B&B was first lass all the way, from location (amazing view of the bay from the front door), to the oersized rooms, to the exceptional family that runs it. We had a couple very unusual requests and they jumped on them, allways with a smile. Margurite has been running a B&B for 40 years and really knows her stuff.
Review 27:Fabulous place, and the warmest of welcomes

Review 65:Liked everything about our stay. First the warm wonderful welcome, with a cup of tea. The scenery from the house. Rooms were good size and clean. Highly recommend Rathmore House. The breakfast was wonderful and big with local produce and very tasty.
Review 66:A bit out of town, and needed to drive in, which was a shame
Review 67:Warm and friendly. Fantastic views of the bay from our room. All very comfortable. Good freshly cooked breakfast.
Review 68:It was took far from Baltimore to be walking distance also small country road so would have been dangerous. Otherwise good though.
Review 69:Very clean and staff were very nice
Review 70:Nothing, all wonderful.
Review 71:Everything! The view, the food, the caring service, the comfortable room. It was an amazing time that we will have in our hearts forever.
Review 72:The house is noisy, the pipes for the water to the shower. The toilet makes noise after flushing. The walls are quite thin i think, you hear other people walking or coughing. we could not walk to town from rathmore house because of the narrow roads en fastdriving cars
Review 73:the view!! the tips for restaurants breakfast
Review 74:Yes sound carries a bit from the next room though it didn't actually interfere with my sleep.
Review 75:Owners were very nice, very accomodating. Breakfast very good. Overlooks the harbor, wonderful view.
Review 76:Sound carried a bit, though we had a very quiet and peaceful night... If you're a light sleeper bring a pair of ear plugs
Review 77:Very warm and friendly welcome, comfortable surroundings, excellent breakfast!
Review 78:Beautiful, clean house and rooms. Our room had a spectacular view. Breakfast was great, with a bit of local flair. The owners were friendly and accommodating.
Review 79:Be advised that walking to Baltimore village by night or in the poorvisibility is risky. It's a narrow winding treacherous road with nofootpath. There are taxis available though.Slightly overpriced at €80 for a double room I thought, if I hadn't needed to stay in Baltimore that night it would have discouraged me.
Review 80:The views & setting are great. And it really is in striking distanceby car of so many other lovely places in fabulous West Cork. The landlady (marguerite) is lovely, and makes every effort to welcome you and make you comfortable. Warm, but unobtrusive. The place is kept really really really clean, the breakfasts are lovely and the coffee is about the best I've had in a bed&breakfast ever. Overall, the place has a nice ambience in a traditional west cork, homely, hospitable fashion.
Review 81:The bed was a little bumpy.
Review 82:Personal attention from Margeurite. She could not have been more obliging. The location was stunning. The house has delightful character of a retro guesthouse with modern facilities.
Review 83:Lovely scenic setting facing the North Atlantic with splendid views of the River Ilen. Most friendly welcome and atmosphere. Marguerite (the owner) could not have been more helpful or hospitable. Hoping to get back.
Review 84:This was such a great place it would be hard to find something Ididn't like. As I mentioned our room was rather small, but for usthe view was more than worth any lack of space.
Review 85:To begin with we were offered a choice of two rooms, one was quitelarge, but the smaller of the two rooms had a wonderful view of thecoast that we just couldn't pass up. The hostess wanted to make surethat we would be comfortable in the smaller room, and it was a bitcramped, but that view was fantastic. If you are in one of the roomsthat doesn't have a window facing the water you can sit in the frontroom on comfortable leather couches and enjoy the view. We enjoyed teaand scones in the front room on our arrival. This B&B is veryrelaxing and cozy. I really enjoyed sitting in the window of our warmroom with a cup of tea and looking out our window at the rainy andwindblown water. I would definitely recommend this location!
Review 86:Shower entry was designed only for thin people
Review 87:Marguerite is very welcoming and helpful. Well organised establishment. Views across to Baltimore harbour and Mount Gabriel from our room were incredible. Restaurants etc are easily accessible and Skibbereen a short drive away with more shops and eateries. We went out on a Whale watching trip from Baltimore which Marguerite kindly booked for us, would definitely recommend this trip. Would use this B&B again if in the area.
Review 88:Everything!! The owner was so hospitable and welcoming (including providing coffee scones and brownies to welcome guests and providing an electric blanket as the weather had turned very cold) breakfast was second to none and the location beautiful.
Review 89:Very friendly landlady and fantastic view
Review 90:Beautiful view to the bay. Stylish breakfast room. Very good breakfast.
Review 91:Noise from other rooms.
Review 92:Good Breakfast.
