Reviews for The Coach House Hotel

Review 1:Having spent the day in the car, this hostelry was the best place to be to relax. If I was being picky(& I'm not)the breakfast staff were more outgoing than the evening staff.

Review 2:We didn't have a bad experience.

Review 3:We liked the easy access to the mill pool and the short walk to our relative. We were impressed by the perfect poached eggs for breakfast.

Review 4:There were no bad points.

Review 5:visited Pembroke on business and decided to stay as we were holding a customer event in the bar downstairs. Lovely friendly welcome upon arrival and clear instructions regarding room location and wifi access etc. I loved my room (small double, room 18) which was very clean and tidy. I especially liked the original features of the room such as the ceiling beams and small windows of the old building. The room itself is decorated and fitted to a high standard and the en-suite was nice too. We also ate at the downstairs bar which served a lovely 3 course meal. All staff were excellent. Would definitely stay again.

Review 6:Twin room beds a little too small and uncomfortable. Only stayed for one night so that was not too much of a problem.

Review 7:Staff and food were 1st. class. We will stay again in the spring.

Review 8:I'm a big guy and I found the hall and rooms a bit cramped.

Review 9:It was great that they stayed open late for boat and the irish coming over for the rugby game. I think they could have advertised that more.

Review 10:Bed not overly comfy and walls very thin. Kept awake by crying baby for ages and people returning late and talking in corridor

Review 11:Delicious breakfast. Friendly staff. Modern room. Plenty of parking. Lovely walk behind hotel around Mill Pond and castle.

Review 12:Great location if saling out from the ferry port. Staff warm & friendly, Resturant had good basic selection of food on the menu. Room was clean and value for money.

Review 13:Great location in the centre of Pembroke, and easy access to the far west of Wales. The Coach House staff are very welcoming and friendly. Comfortable rooms and delicious food. Can't recommend this hotel too highly!

Review 14:Very clean. Dour staff, average food quality although good breakfast. Very small bar and seating area, no lounge. Very noisy, could hear loud and creaky noises from other bedrooms and corridor. Area for car park quite good but terrible surface, therefore no markings.

Review 15:Geographic location. Receptionist very quickly offered to change our room when she realised I had a walking stick.

Review 16:We had a spacious suite with a comfortable king size bed. Staff sat up for our arrival off the ferry and was very pleasant. We enjoyed our breakfast and walk in shower would stay here again and for longer than one night as it was restful

Review 17:Excellent staff and accommodation. Well looked after and well prepared breakfast and evening meals. Nothing was too much trouble. One traditional pump serving 'Becky' which was excellent

Review 18:No apple juice for breakfast, seems like a easy fix. In room 10, the door frame from the inside of the bathroom outwards needs a paint. A blanket as well as a duvet would have been nice. Trying to watch Wales smash England 28-25 was difficult on the small TV in the from.

Review 19:I loved the shower in room 10

Review 20:Had room 20 very noisy extract fan below, occasional sound like aircraft taking off ,probably water or heating system.

Review 21:Position,hotel very clean,good breakfast.;

Review 22:nothing really

Review 23:Friendly staff. Katy in particular was so welcoming and full of info about where to go and what to see. The food in the restaurant is excellent and an army could march on the breakfast. The rooms are clean and modern. Good location for exploring and plenty of parking space. The castle is well worth a visit.

Review 24:The staff/management anticipated ironman competitors staying and had pre purchased small refrigerators for the room and set out a fantastic breakfast at 3 a.m. the morning of the event. Outstanding customer service.

Review 25:Thin walls. Some noise in heating pipes.

Review 26:Great breakfast. Super variety. Friendly service. Very good evening dinner with excellent choice. helpful reception & management.

Review 27:Wacky shower, water came at you from all angles, never mastered the controls, it dripped afterwards. Breakfast wasn't a great experience.

Review 28:Room recently redecorated very comfortable

Review 29:Thin walls you can hear the neighbors coughing at night . Double bed is a bit small (minor niggles) .

Review 30:Everything - great friendly staff and very ran room

Review 31:The hotel staff were very welcoming and polite. Breakfast and evening meals were delicious. Loved the shower and bottled water. A very comfortable stay so would highly recommend.

Review 32:Nothing

Review 33:Beautiful hotel, we stayed in the top room of the annexe - although it was up two flights of stairs with no lift, it was well worth it (and helped work off the delicious breakfasts). The room was actually a very well appointed suite. Amazingly comfy beds, two TV's huge walk in shower, walk in closet. Every single member of staff was very friendly and polite and even treated my 7yro daughter like a grown up. The breakfasts were top notch (even the gluten free options were lush). The hotel itself is a very short walk (approx 5 mins) from the main town centre, which is just about perfect. I can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying there again when we go to Pembroke.

Review 34:Walls and floors were not soundproofed. Could hear everyone in next and rooms above.

Review 35:In a good position for access to village and castle. Room size was goid.

Review 36:Bathroom decor was a bit strange and TV in room is very small but room was nice and clean.

Review 37:Price is very reasonable. Nice and clean comfy room with solid oak furniture. Nice touch of having a free bottle of water in room everyday. Nice restaurant with good food and friendly and helpful staff. Very nice cooked breakfast. Plenty of parking too.

Review 38:Some of thestaff were not very welcoming. It seemed we were an inconvenience to them at times

Review 39:Hotel very clean and tidy towels changed everyday Location and parking excellent

Review 40:Don't turn right in your car on leaving the hotel (it's a one way street) - no signage opposite the hotel!!

Review 41:Very convenient for Pembroke town centre, lovely walk along the Mill Pond (turn immediately left down paved path on leaving hotel) to the Watermans Arms for a pint by the pond

Review 42:Really lovely room, stayed in the Annexe, all very new & modern, warm welcome, staff all polite & helpfull, had evening meal there, food was lovely, breakfast perfect. Overall a lovely stay & will definately be booking again!!

Review 43:None - will return and recommend.

Review 44:Warm welcome by Sally on reception. Rooms quite spacious with plenty of storage space. Good shower with header for warming up after a day's coastal walking. Breakfast choices with tasty bacon n sausages. Bar serving decent cask ale and nice miniature bottles of Proscecco. Evening meal choices reasonable and we enjoyed tasty steaks & cod n chips. From the hotel you can access the millpond walk and circular walk around the town. Ample parking.

Review 45:I am a former resident of Pembroke and regular returner to visit friends etc, so it's hard to be objective about somewhere that I am so familiar with. I have stayed at the Coach House for the last 3 years, as it is ideally located whether travelling by train or a vehicle, is perfect for a pleasant relaxing stay, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Review 46:The only thing which was poor was the quality of the toilet paper

Review 47:all round excellent. 2 minute walk from high street & mill pond beautiful at bottom of garden

Review 48:Address given as 116 Main Street which causes you to drive past the entrance to the car park as it says 112 and 114 on the building. changing your address to say 112-116 will stop this.

Review 49:Comfortable quiet room. Friendly staff. Free off road parking. Good restaurant.

Review 50:Lovely room, well decorated, with nice outlook onto courtyard garden (unusual to have nice outlook when you are a solo traveller). Breakfast was good, and evening meal in restaurant was also good. Easy walk to Pembroke castle, and good car parking available.

Review 51:At breakfast the staff could of more nice by stay good morning they look like they did not want to do the job

Review 52:The place were the hotel was and the lake Tenby was lovly too

Review 53:The bed mattress should have been turned and I know if I had asked it immediately would have been. It wasn't intolerable by any means and I slept soundly anyway.

Review 54:We used Pembroke as a base to explore around Pembrokeshire and it worked out very well. We ate three of four dinners at the Coach Inn and were quite impressed by the selection and quality of the food. We also liked the easy access to the walk around the Mill Pond and to the Castle and Main Street shops.

Review 55:Bed was somewhat tired and pillows were very poor. Tub chair too large for the room and was in the way. In the bathroom tap too large for the size of the basin.

Review 56:Large shower with plenty of hot water. Room was very clean. Plenty of storage space. Breakfast was very good and service was reasonably quick.

Review 57:the colour of the towels!! The room was a little on the small size and there was chocolate left from a previous occupant!

Review 58:excellent location for discovering South Wales, not far from any major attractions. The staff were all very attentive and polite. it was a last minute thing and excellent value.

Review 59:Nothing!

Review 60:I could not fault the Coach House. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff made us so welcome and helped us a lot with the nearby area. The location was great, the beds were comfortable, the showers are amazing with 3 different settings and the breakfast was lovely!

Review 61:bathroom need work the staff are not so skilled in takeing care of guest, controdictory information from staff

Review 62:good parking, easy online booking, easy cheak in. super food. most of the staff are frendly. suitated in town but with a super pond in 2 mins walking

Review 63:Did not like the frosted window in the room lucky it was late when we got back to the otherwise it would have been awful not been able to see out I would recommend staying on the first floor. Evening meal was ok chicken very dry

Review 64:Easy find good parking hotel was clean Landlady and staff very pleasant

Review 65:Where do we start? This hotel was spotless, The staff were superb and could not have been more helpfull or kinder. The meals were of a very high quality and the breakfast was very comprehensive and good quality. We shall be staying here again on our next visit to Pembroke. This hotel is ideally situated to visit the coastal areas. A beutifull area to visit. Pembroke castle is a must to visit and the walks around the mill pond area can be accessed at the bottom of the hotel garden. Great place to stay.

Review 66:Great hotel. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Great bar and dining room with excellent meals. Breakfast great. Room quiet and comfortable with good facilities. Lovely buiing and surroundsl

Review 67:Take your own shower wash or pair of scissors to open provided sachets. They are impossible to open.

Review 68:Comfortable bed/2pillows. Lovely soft towels. Female receptionist very friendly. Parking.

Review 69:The only slight complaint, if you can call it such, was that the sachets of Shower Gel/Shampoo were far too small and fiddly to use. Perhaps a wall mounted dispenser would be preferential. Can be overcome by carrying your own I suppose.

Review 70:It was nice to know that welcoming and comfortable accommodation awaited you on your return from days out. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble

Review 71:one thing I would change is to add a black out blind on the window ,curtains were very light and sun was coming through at 4am , just a small thing but it would have made all the difference .

Review 72:Rooms were spotless and modern. Staff were very nice at all times , Breakfast was very good . Would definitely stay again

Review 73:we stayed in the suite on the 2nd floor. Access is a little daunting, up a metal outside staircase and then an internal stair. the suite is fabulous with large bed, a walk in wardrobe, sitting area with comfortable lazyboy style chairs and a nice bathroom. we have never stayed in a hotel room with 2 TVs.

Review 74:The hotel was well presented with lovely views across the river at the rear. The food was good and the staff were very nice. The room was a good size and comfortable with an excellent en-suite shower room. I would stay again.

Review 75:Breakfast was too big but you could ask for less.

Review 76:Recently refurbished so clean and well decorated. Effort put in to update and improve. Meal in restaurant good.

Review 77:This is a great example of a small hotel which knows exactly what it needs to do to satisfy its customers. Smart, freshly upgraded, excellent facilities, convenient and comfortable.

Review 78:There could have been more choice of fruit for breakfast.

Review 79:Everything looked good and worked well. Super shower. Nice courtyard to sit out with a drink and a good evening meal.

Review 80:due to the time of the meeting a overnight stay in Pembroke was a requirement. the location of the Hotel was ideal after the meeting i was able to have a walk around the area before eating.

Review 81:On one evening the restaurant was very full and the staff struggled slightly to cope resulting in a long wait for dessert. Not a major problem..

Review 82:The hotel facilities were very good indeed and the rooms had been modernised very tastefully. Bedroom was a good size and the bathroom facilities were excellent. Food provided was excellent, both breakfast and a la carte dinner.

Review 83:too many "don't do this notices around including one that told you to take off your shoes in the room!. no night porter service. Food in the restaurant very sub standard and more like a sixties Berni Inn

Review 84:position of hotel

Review 85:The room was a little cramped. The wardrobe was uncomfortably close to the bed. Pillows too soft for me, I'm afraid, but the bed was comfy. Just one or two members of start might try to smile; the rest were lovely. I ate in the restaurant for three nights of my stay. The service was attentive and the sea bass on the first night. On subsequent nights the chicken was dry and the pork tough.

Review 86:The very spacious car park was very good news. The hotel was easy to find and conveniently situated just down the road from the magnificent castle ruins. Everything was spotless and well-maintained. It was pleasant to sit on the terrace with a drink in the evenings. It is on the principal road but the traffic is relatively light. I arrived early but was told my room was ready anyway - that kind of courtesy is always welcome after a long journey. Almost all of the staff were cheerful and obliging. Breakfast was great. Wifi excellent.

Review 87:my only complaint was the televisions in the other rooms were very loud until ridiculous hours of the morning put me of staying another nite , place was fine apart from that not very sound proof

Review 88:clean & nice food , most of the staff were friendly I would stay again .

Review 89:The whole experience was perfect for what we needed, great spacious room, very clean, helpful, friendly staff. Food was excellent and all value for money, will definitely stay again

Review 90:The thermostat to the room central heating is located outside the room in a common area and another guest kept turning it off hence during the night no central heating in our Suite!!

Review 91:The staff, the Suite, the food and the village.

Review 92:Business trip for total of 6 people (2 actually staying elsewhere but were included in meals etc ); welcoming, helpful and willing to do whatever necessary to make trip successful, including providing packed lunches for film crew. Comfortable.

Review 93:Dirty soiled towels, very rude owner when we asked for a cup of tea/coffee we were told there was refreshments in our room, asked for a table to be booked for a meal on the sat night to find an outside party had taken preference and we had to eat at 9.15pm!! Annoying fire alarm light in the bedroom giving a bright green light at night very annoying. Very understaffed tho Owner very rude tho and she could not be bothered to come and see us when asked and fobbed us off via the phone

Review 94:The room was new modern, the hotel was clean SOME staff were lovely

Review 95:Quality of beds could be better. A firm bed is much nicer than a saggy one!!

Review 96:Friendliness of staff, nice pub food, quiet location of room over in annexe

Review 97:Excellent stay, made all the better by the help we had from the hotel staff, in advising us where the best beaches etc. were and more important, where not to go, I,E, bank holiday week end, to minimise over crowding, and traffic, Thoroughly recommend the boat trip around Ramsey island, The hotel food is very good, and the portion size is very generous indeed, all in all you wont go far wrong at The Coach House

Review 98:The hotel is run by a really friendly team - from reception when you walk in to the waitresses or waiter in the dining room. even the cleaning staff have a cheery good morning for you. The menu was varied for dinner and we ate it - totally enjoyed the food - really freshly cooked and hot - fab deserts too if you could manage after the mains! Will definitely return in the future.

Review 99:From the moment I contacted Sally I knew that our weekend away was going to be great, she helped arrange a special something for my girlfriend and I appreciated this a great deal. The staff were so friendly and helpful and always on hand for anything. The food was very good, exceeded our expectations completely. The rooms were spacious and very nicely furnished making us feel very comfortable during our stay. I have already recommended this to a friend and we will definitely be returning in the future. Excellent

Review 100:The breakfast was mainly overcooked including the fried egg and the service was quite slow and not particularly friendly.

Review 101:The comfortable room and shower

Review 102:No unpleasant experiences.

Review 103:The chef was a true artist and our evening dinners ended the day deliciously! The parking facilities helped us to enjoy being in the centre of town. Clean and comfortable, this hotel had all that we required.

Review 104:the only down fall is that there was`nt someone always at recepition you can call for someone but i dont like shouting out for someone as you never know when you need something?

Review 105:we loved the space of the room, friendlyness of staff loads of choice for breakfast.

Review 106:We were there during unseasonally warm temperatures - were on the main floor and didn't feel comfortable opening our window at night.

Review 107:The building was SO Wales - rustic and cozy. Good food - had English breakfast included, and option for supper. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Close to the train station and easy walk through to the Castle. Our twin room was large and well appointed. Good shower.

Review 108:Very thin walls could hear loud TV in next room.

Review 109:The hotel was an attractive looking building with car park at rear. Good breakfast provided but plates were not cleared away between courses which made it difficult on a 2 seater table. Otherwise stay was OK.

Review 110:Some personal opinions should be kept private by staff, the owner should offer the place like a home from home; but be as proffessional as possible at all times. People don't need grumpiness, or moaning when they are excited to be in a new place.

Review 111:The towels were changed daily. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard. Sally ringing round to arrange myself transport to the iron man event, very helpful and caring. Very comfortable beds. Cosy area to relax with a dinning table, settee and T.V near the rooms, this area helped you socialize away from the pub, or just relax.

Review 112:Not enough staff on duty and I had to wait ages to check in as the lady was busy in the bar. And similarly no one was available when I came to check out so, as the bill was already settled, I just left the keys on the reception desk.

Review 113:Good quality accommodation and a nice feel about the place. Parking was readily available and it is handily placed for the restaurants and pubs along Main Street. Having stayed in Pembroke before, I will definitely stay here again next time.

Review 114:Our room was in a new extension and poorly sound proofed, could hear the person in the next room snoring. Some waiting staff v poor only got the correct breakfast on the five day!

Review 115:Good food comfortable bed, clean large shower. Some of the staff friendly and welcoming.

Review 116:We could hear people on either side of us.

Review 117:Staff were very friendly. Food was good and plentiful. Very good value overall. Room on ground floor with excellent walk in shower

Review 118:The walls between opposing rooms and the hall way are very thin. You can hear people talk or cough in other rooms.

Review 119:Room had been recently renovated and was very comfortable. Bathroom was great and had an amazing shower. Restaurant on site provided lovely breakfast each morning and dinner was lovely the one night we dined there.

Review 120:Ran out of coffee first morning at breakfast and didn't appear inclined to refill. Long wait at the bar for a drink but the staff were working hard so not complaining about them.

Review 121:Plenty of parking. Walking distance to town centre and castle. Friendly and efficient check in. Recently refurbished room had a superb shower.

Review 122:Light in Bedroom and Bathroom could have been brighter. If you needed to use the Telephone in the Room for Outgoing calls they charge 80p a minute - far toooooooo Expensive!

Review 123:Good choice for Breakfast.Wifi Worked in Room Room and Bathroom were clean Free Car park

Review 124:Leaving !

Review 125:I have stayed here before and know the area very well as I grew up here. I like everything about the hotel, it is ideally located for the town and the trains, and also has a good-sized car park. The staff cannot do enough for you, the complimentary items supplied verging on the excessive ! The rooms are clean, light and airy, the overall feel of the place is very chilled and relaxed. I have nothing but good to say about it.

Review 126:Service was slow but good when it came

Review 127:Have been going to Pembroke for years and never noticed this Hotel. Staff were very good and took their time and cared about their work.

Review 128:Bar area too small. No where to relax afterwards.

Review 129:Very comfortable stay. A little bit of noise from outside but not too bad. Lovely suite. Really roomy and had everything needed for weekend stay. Generous servings at meal times.

The Fine Print
