Reviews for Royal Bay
Review 1:Excellent hotel and definitely a five star for Greece. Relaxing holiday and was our four months old first time away. Staff were excellent from the maids to the waitresses.
Review 2:A truly high class hotel in a premium location. Breathtaking views and excellent facilities. I really don't see how it could be better and every morning it felt like such a treat to waken up there. Just perfect.
Review 3:shame the orange juice was not fresh- but seemed like the powdered kind- same as you get in cheap hotels. Also annoying you have to pay for the sunbeds on the beach- when you book you assume these are included- maybe best to clarify for your guests. Your staff are lovely!
Review 4:staff lovely and room very nice, breakfast a nice selection apart from the orange juice and coffee which was like hot water. Not a deal breaker
Review 5:Staff were always helpful, bedroom was spacious and clean and towels and bedding were changed regularly. They kept the pool area and the hotel beach clean and tidy. The communal areas were well maintained.
Review 6:there were no option to have one big bed - only two separate beds, which are not very comfortable even holded together by sheets, wifi was very unstable on every device price is high for Kos and Greece in general
Review 7:sea view just from the window of the room! location is superb - just on the beach and in between two windsurfing stations
Review 8:You're expected to pay for the sunbeds&umbrellas on the beach side, which actually belongs to the hotel! The reason we've chosen this hotel was it's own beach; therefore this created a big fuss between us and hotel staff. Also some minor issues become a problem between us and the management; breakfast times/ breakfast options, etc.
Review 9:Good location. Very clean and spacious rooms.
Review 10:Great place! Clean and pleasant. Rooms are big and comfort. The view is breath taking. The location is perfect, right on the beach, just sit and relax near the blue pool or go down a few steps to the beach... But most important, the staff is great! So nice and helpful. Special thanks to Maria and Anthonia for all the help, smiles and warm welcome!
Review 11:Kefalos is a very remote part of the island. The village is very run down and quiet. We visited other parts of the island which had a bit more activity but overall we would not recommend Kos as a good tourist destination as there are too many all-inclusive resorts which have killed the spirit of the island.
Review 12:Nicest hotel in Kefalos and located right on the beach. Hotel is pretty new and rooms were huge and comfortable.
Review 13:The WiFi was too weak, somewhat of a daily battle.
Review 14:The hotel staff were really professional but at the same time extremely friendly. We really would thank all of them, and in particular Anthoula, Nicholas and Maria. They really gave a plus to our vacation.
Review 15:The pool is open to the public with no special privileges afforded to the paying guests. They should offer the pool at a fee that could be taken of the visitors first drink from the bar. We were never able to access the best loungers due to outside non-paying guests "saving" them. The hotel is rather bland in decor and the breakfast lets it down.
Review 16:The location was excellent. The reception staff were fantastic and very helpful.
Review 17:Whilst there is sand on the beach the sea shore is very stony and difficult to walk on without beach shoes.
Review 18:The management and staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is new, the rooms are well-equipped and the location of the hotel is very good if you want a quiet, relaxing holiday.
Review 19:Having to Leave!
Review 20:The Hotel is in an ideal location for walking to Kefalos village or Kimari, or to drive and explore the rest of this lovely island. The hotel facilities are excellent from the free wifi to the windsurfing school right on the beach in front. The food is lovely, varied and well cooked, the bar well stocked. The staff are excellent and make you feel very welcome, nothing is too much trouble, and they made our stay so enjoyable.
Review 21:Our room looked onto the main road when i requested a sea view room, however, i understand that at the time there might not have been one available.
Review 22:The view, the pool, the beds.. the hotel was immaculate, every day our room was cleaned impeccably. The staff were nice to their customers.
Review 23:Some balconys don't get much sun so be specific on what your requirements are when you book. We would probably ask for a sea facing balcony with sun next time and pay a bit extra as the views are lovely.
Review 24:The breakfast is lovely for adults and kids, the pool is also great for adults and kids with a few stairs you are on the beach, stunning views across to the little church on kastri Island, a little park with slide, see saw and swings in the hotel garden was perfect for little ones, very central location to explore Kefalos. The rooms were spotless, the cleaning staff came every day and were of an excellent standard there is and a free safe and free air con in the rooms. We requested a bath for the little one and it was a perfect size for him. The travel cot was bright and clean. We ate in the hotel two nights and the food was lovely lots of Greek authentic food and they now have started a Greek night but sadly we left that day so didn't get to try it. We have been to Kefalos a few times stayed in different hotels this hotel is far superior especially with the size of the rooms being so spacious compared to other places we have stayed and we would only stay here now when we returned. Also we were happy to see the friendly bar staff who we had met on a previous Kefalos trip in a different hotel. The owners are on site and very hands on. We had a lovely week and can't thank you enough.
Review 25:That we were only there for a week :( not long enough!
Review 26:Suites are amazing, huge with massive balcony overlooking islands and marina. Way above anything else we've stayed in for years. Spotless hotel, great staff, especially Nick the nighttime barman. Makes wicked cocktails.
Review 27:Bath/shower not user friendly
Review 28:Location was excellent as being next to the windsurfing centre. Pool area clean with plenty of beds. Rooms clean and spacious.
Review 29:the breakfast buffet will develope and will be very good. Cigarette smoke is generally a big issue in Greece. If the non smoking tourists were better respected, it would be a great better deal to visit and do tourism in greek hotels and in greek localities.
Review 30:everything very good
Review 31:Poor and always the same breakfast. Personal on breakfast is unfriendly and slow. Most of sea view rooms are very noisy because of door facing the road. Most of garden view rooms are facing road and are extreamly noisy. Blackout curtains are not effective. Cleaning in rooms is bed. No free wifi even in lobby.
Review 32:Location is excelent. Viewes are wonderfull, sea is very close. Rooms are new, furniture is ok. Airconditions are comfortable and quiet.
Review 33:Location on the front and next door to kefalos windsurfing center. Have being holidaying in kefalos almost every year since 2004......this is the best hotel and is a most welcome addition to the sea front. The vista from the hotel towards the sea has lifted the resort to something special, especially since the eclipse yacht was anchored in the bay during our stay. Did not want to leave 10/10 for relaxation.
Review 34:Family rooms all seemed to be roadside which was a little noisy but didnt bother us too much.
Review 35:Location right next to beach. Location adjacent to Kefalos windsurfing. (Heaven on earth). Windy most of the time. Pool overlokking ocean. Lovely clean rooms.
Review 36:Poor standard in general for the money you pay....wifi 6 euro per day extra ...breakfast nothing special..terrible room's ceiling..any curtains for the door
Review 37:Confortable mattress and mosquitos net
Review 38:Small stones going into beach, but really not a big problem!
Review 39:Large bedroom and shower room. On the beach, beautiful location, lovely scenery. Spotlessly clean! Good breakfast. Possibly best hotel in Kefaslos.
Review 40:The speed of the replacement of the breackfast has to be improved.
Review 41:Eccellent stay for two weeks for me and my friend. The Hotel was full, but we didn't realize, so quiet it was. The nicest beach where also Greek tourists can be found is at 30 mt distance from the room, this is the real plus! All the personnel have been very kind, friendly and flexible: we thank in particular Anthoula and Kokona of the reception, the bartenders Nikolas and Stamatia (by the way very, very appreciated the music choices!) and Vasilja and Katia who saved us from a giant insect in the bathroom! We definitely would like to come back.Simona and Alessandra"
Review 42:Fantastic set up. We stayed in the suite and it was just different class. Had the room for one night after the wedding but wish we could have stayed longer. Would love to go back for a treat next year!
Review 43:Problem with showers early evening (around 7pm) - sometimes no water and varying from v hot to stone cold), but we coped! Some breakfast items came out sporadically and we often had to wait for pancakes, eggs, etc. but this was just a small problem and only irritated half our family. Limited furniture in the bedrooms eg no long mirror.
Review 44:Big size rooms with excellent AC and comfy beds. Fridge in the room with an ice box. Fantastic pool with plenty sun-beds. Great location on the beach with beautiful views over Kamari Bay and Kastri Island. The hotel is simple, clean and modern. Quiet hotel in a quiet location. Relaxed ambience. Nice walk into town along the beach? All amenities in walking distance (tavernas, Supermarkets, car hire, etc). Kefalos / Kamari bay is quite rustic, but charming with over 40 Tavernas to choose from. We enjoyed snorkelling around the basilica, Kastri Island, Camel beach and Bubble beach, windsurfing, Catamaran sailing with Derek, water-sofa.
Review 45:A little disorganised at breakfast time, items weren't being topped up quickly possibly due to limited number of staff available to do so. The bathroom was new and clean, the only "issue" was the placement of the splashscreen meant the bathroom flooded pretty quickly when showering. Also, seemed a small space in relation to the very large room - not an issue for a couple but might be more of a squeeze if sharing with more people.
Review 46:We found Royal Bay to be a lovely modern hotel in an excellent location in terms of access to the beach for a thouroughly relaxing stay. The surrounding area is a little quiet but we had a hire car which allowed us to explore further afield. The swimming pool looked great, with plenty of sunbeds surrounding it but with the sea so close by we didn't feel the need to use it! The staff were friendly and happy to help
Review 47:Very friendly staff. Big size rooms with excellent AC. Easy acess to the beach and town. Bus stop opposite hotel. Very good Mojito! Peaceful and relaxing.
Review 48:Wifi costs 6 Euros a day (you can get it free in all thetavernas/cafes nearby) Although breakfast is until 10am, if youarrive at 9.45, there seems to be a problem getting enoughbread/cups/coffee etc! There is a big difference between roomsat the back with a divine view over the pool and sea and those on theroad side - no view and a bit noisy. Family rooms all seem to be on theroad side.
Review 49:Great new hotel. Lovely big rooms, clean and stylish. Great views.Beautiful pool and steps straight onto the beach from the pool area -with the hotel's own sunbeds. Sea is divine and the whole beach isquiet and peaceful. A couple of nice tavernas and cafe right next to thehotel. Katya on reception was great - very helpful when we arrived.
