Reviews for Leonardo Inn Hotel Dead Sea
Review 1:Advertised available free WiFi. It did not work at all. After arguingwith the staff, begging them to reset their server or whatever to tryand make it work, we gave up. The Hotel is dirty and old. Do not stay atthis place.
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:The lobby could use some renovations.
Review 4:Location, breakfast and dinner food was good, great beds, nice pool- use of Hod spa was a great benefit - we spent all day at the spa . Rooms were clean. We were given free mud and salts. We had early checkin and late check out! All in all was a good vacation.
Review 5:1) The hotel is extremely old, 2) The lobby was dirty, 3) The rooms were not ready for check in at our arrival, 4) The elevators were our of service, 5) The room was dirty and we have been obliged to it to be cleaned' 6) The food was disgusting 7) The paid price was extremely high for that rubbish Hotel.
Review 6:Nothing was positive
Review 7:Dirty, misrepresented on internet as a modern hotel which was not.definitely not a 3 star hotel. Stayed only 1 night as we arrived at 9pm & had no other option. Took over an hour & a half to arange a refund which still has not been credited back to the credit card to date.Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 8:Nothing I am afraid.
Review 9:booking-in was not according to what I got via mail explanation to go to leonardo club was not well done and got us in trouble with driver of shuttle bathroom: the curtain is not enough..bathroom always wet
Review 10:location and oportunity to go to hod hotel spa meals very good and kosher
Review 11:Smell of air freshner everywhere throughout the hotel. Paint peeling, general condition of the hotel was poor. Staff were pretty rude and not interested.
Review 12:Gardens
Review 13:The room was not clean. We had to ask for our room to be cleaned because we returned from a day of hiking and no one had cleaned, no new towels, nothing. They were told to clean the room well since we were forgotten & all we got were fresh towels. No clean room, not even new water glasses.
Review 14:It is close to the Dead Sea. The courtyard is nice & quiet. The Taj Mahal restaurant near the courtyard is a nice place to relax & listen to music.
Review 15:Thats I could'nt have the room I have ordered for about 5-6 months ago the first night . But later on I have a good room and I am pleased. The bar was close inthe evenings . No other drinks in the dinningroom to Dinner exept water. !! ( ex. beer or wine agains payement of course !)
Review 16:The service in the dinning room = 10 Room clenining = 10 Generally = 9
Review 17:The hotel is cheapest in Ein Bokek and the staff is well aware of it. And on weekends it is always fully booked. So staff was friendly but very relaxed, especially in dining-room. The room could use some renovation, shower was half broken. The room was a little smelly, thу lobby was really smelly and it was the only place with wifi, so be prepared. Food is average, no fruits at all, bad coffee, at dinner almost all hot diches had thick gravy, some too spicy.
Review 18:It's calm and quite, SPA in nearby hotel is okey, as well as the beach. The hotel itself is old, but clean. Free parking on site is nice, you should consider renting a car if you are going to Dead Sea. In general we were satisfied with the stay.
Review 19:Not directly on the beach, but we knew that beforehand. Personally I do not like having to listen to music on the pool. I like it quiet.
Review 20:Fabulous breakfast buffet, nice view of our room
Review 21:it disturbed me there was no drinks available to buy in the hotel. the music speakers outside could be of better quality.
Review 22:the service was excellent! the state of the kashrus was very good, and the mashgiach was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. thank you for our amazing stay in Ein Bokek!!
Review 23:The price is high for this kind of hotel, but this is the problem of Israel and not the hotel. The same price you can get a 4-5 stars hotel in other place.
Review 24:The bed is great, nice pool and restaurant near by.
Review 25:- room was poorly cleaned - water dispenser were raunchy - the half-board was the worst I ever had to experience. Room like central station a pitcher of water, nothing else to order against extra charge like bottle of wine or so
Review 26:Receptionist at check- in was friendly
Review 27:The pictures make the hotel look amazingly clean and new. In fact there were ants in our room, and a cockroach. You could feel the grime on your feet from the carpet. There were hardly any channels on the TV and only one in English. All of the facilities of worth are off site. The spa is at the Hod, the beach is at the Hod, the Hod, the gym is at the Hod. The pool at the Leonardo is okay, but nothing exciting. There were very few staff members around when we needed anything. The last day, the room continuously vibrated, and made a lot of noise, we called the front desk who sent someone that said it was just normal seismic activity, it didn't seem like it though.
Review 28:The half board made the stay less expensive. The food was decent.
Review 29:This NOT a hotel but more like a one star MOTEL Dirty ,holes in the wall ,the window don't close ,no shuttle to got to the beach and you need everyday a approval from the "motel "to have acces to the beach through a other hotel I don't recommend but the manager was very professional and she try her best
Review 30:Great location
Review 31:Simple and clean, you have everything you need in the room, with entrance to a spa and the beach, great value for money.
Review 32:Distance from sea and spa facilities. Hotel needs modernizing.
Review 33:Very obliging staff. Good catering.
Review 34:Location and price suited us Value for money
Review 35:staff speaks bad english. the lobby is closed at 8 pm.
Review 36:good restaurant.
Review 37:The place was shabby, dirty and I'd never stay there again
Review 38:Restaurant was dirty, staff ate in restaurant directly from buffet. My wife became ill from food. 1st room was very dirty, Air con was also smelly.
Review 39:The stuff varies form person to person. Some very helpful some disinterested in the job.
Review 40:as a stop-over in long journey the location is excellent
Review 41:a bit of the staff attitude
Review 42:improve cleanliness

Review 61:our bathroom was dirty and stank of urine. hotel is very shabby and needs a major facelift. everything is grubby.

Review 63:Staff does not speak English Loud music during the night
Review 64:Full board with good food Good beach facilities
Review 65:Specially the stuff and the comfort i got everything so nicely such nice people
Review 66:the staff were very accomadating and polite. much willingness to help.
Review 67:I found a few receptionists quite rude. It was a displeasure for the tourist who was travelling with me...
Review 68:The only thing we like on our stay is pool and Taj Mahal restaurant and bar.
Review 69:room too small no working desk no wi fi in the rooms food no tasty Furniture very old Toilets leaking Beach 10 minute walk No SPA at the facility too expensive -low value for the money
Review 70:Staff was freindly Swimming pool
Review 71:Reception when we arrived was poor. The desk clerk was an astronaut. Couldn`t tell us when the room would be ready. Said he would sms but never did. Went off duty leaving us sitting in reception.
Review 72:good location. Excellent food. Excellent variety. Nice rooms, and liked the fact the towels were changed every day.
Review 73:The building is showing its age. This also goes for the equipment, furnishings and facilities, which have a tired appearance. Major update or re-fit is overdue. Gained the impression that the staff are doing their best to work with the building and its surroundings as they are - and perhaps not winning the battles. For example, the bathroom door in our suite seemed to have been salvaged from elsewhere and made (not all that successfully) to fit the opening - and it didn't have a lock. Moreover, the bed sheets, such as they were, were clearly not new and barely fitted the mattress - to the extent that the failed to stay in place for more than a fraction of a night's sleep. I could go on ...
Review 74:En Bokek as a location - - can't be beaten Courtesy and friendliness of the staff Layout of the grounds and facilities
Review 75:Doors to the corridor & to the bathroom are bad. Please take care of the wild cats better-they are hungry cause you don't feed them... so they go to the tourists for food.
Review 76:Excellent food, coffee, nice lawn w/ peacocks; staff is great, especially the Russian speakers. Nice pool and spa at the HOD.
Review 77:Excellent food. Really wonderful breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff, free parking, close to the beach. The hotel also has a pool and offers free spa facilities in the nearby hotel.
Review 78:They made up rooms too late in the day (after 1 pm). It was not possible to choose oneself to keep the towels or to change them daily, as it happens nowadays in many hotels, and if one is concerned about the environment, this fact is quite annoying.
Review 79:This is the smallest hotel I found in Ein Bokek (3 floors only!), so even when full is not crowded. Like some other hotels in Ein Bokek, it is not on the beach, but has a nice garden where to relax. Breakfast and dinner buffets were good and there was a sufficient variety of dishes among which one could choose. The room I had was a good sized one but the bathroom, although clean, needed some refurbishment.
Review 80:Smell, you can hear the people clearly in the rooms next door ... The manager was horribly rude and will never recommend
Review 81:Disgusting bad staff horrible customer service highly don't recommend
Review 82:Not very clean bathroom, but it was not that bad.
Review 83:We spent several days there togethr with my mother. We liked it prettymuch. Nice hotel, big rooms with very comfortable beds, rich and variousmeals (kosher), nice staff, free parking, not far from the beach. Asalmost everywhere in Israel, coffee and tea in the room - it was veryconvenient and added to the overall good imoression. We were alsoprovided with extra spa services (free of chagrge) in the nearby hotel. One rainy evening it was just what was needed - we could enjoy warmedDead sea water in the spa center. We would recommend the hotel forstaying for whatever nights you are planning!
Review 84:the window on the corridor was broken and make noise all night long but they ensure us to fix it
Review 85:nice location , the staff was very friendly and understanding (they let us do the check out after 12 because we arrived at 12pm the day before) Free towels
Review 86:Only two meals. No internet in the room or at the pool. No SPA in the hotel (we had to walk to a partner hotel to use the SPA voucher). The (private) beach was closed, had to use a public one.
Review 87:Plenty of food to choose from. Friendly stuff. Free SPA access voucher. Small but good open pool.
Review 88:For unknown reasons the pool was not open at the stated time. There was no laundry service (however we were exceptionally offered to have some clothes washed for free). The hotel looked a bit worn down and less exclusive than in the pictures.
Review 89:Very helpful staff, problems were promptly taken care of and our personal requests were accommodated. The food was very plentiful and good, with lots of fresh salads and other healthy alternatives. As a welcome gesture we had a free ticket for "fish peeling" treatment in another hotel spa.
Review 90:Upon arrival, the young girl at the reception was completely helpless. I don't know why management had placed her there. She spoke no English, could not even read my name on my passport, seemed to have no idea why I was there -- that I was checking in after a long drive. I've never had such a bad reception at a hotel in my life! It was most unwelcoming. And it took an entire hour to get me checked into and up to the room, when finally another person arrived to handle my booking.com reservation. I had to wait endlessly. A sign should be placed to label "reception," with multi-lingual people and professional receptionists who know how to assist weary travelers and take care of their needs check-in. All in all, my arrival was confusing and exhausting. Had I not had a confirmed reservation with Booking.com, I would have left. So I just hung around until someone helped me. Weird for a hotel! Reception area is also smelly -- perhaps due to the Dead Sea or a spa -- but other problems?! I had to hold my nose. Can there be ventilation or other improvements to this situation? (Smelled like BO, especially coming in from outside.) The staff all seems to speak Russian and caters to Russian tourists. I was sometimes made to feel odd, because I didn't speak English or Russian -- just some of the staff (not all) seemed annoyed with my presence as an American. That made me feel uncomfortable, so I'm not entirely sure I can recommend this hotel wholeheartedly to English-speaking clientele. But, again, I should emphasize that the morning staff at the reception tried to make up for difficulties.
Review 91:The room with its sliding-glass door and tiny balcony with Dead Sea in the distance was comfortable, with good air and chirping birds in the garden below. Although the price seemed a bit high, it is actually a good deal for the Ein Bokek-Dead Sea area. Hotel offered a spa at a luxury hotel nearby, although I opted to go to Ein Gedi up the highway, which is a wonderful for-pay spa on the Dead Sea. The food in the group-restaurant (half-board) was surprisingly nourishing. Morning staff were nice and helpful. Wish I could have spent one more day.
Review 92:Some of the 'hot' food in the restaurant was cold. A defective kettle in the room was only replaced when my wife stood holding it in reception, 36 hours after we requested a replacement.
Review 93:Great location, lovely garden, comfortable room, very relaxing atmosphere.
Review 94:Very comfortable hotel just 5 minutes from the beach. Good restaurant and services. Very appreciated the free vouchers for the leonardo Club spa and beach, 10 minutes car distance, and for fish pedicure. Free wifi at the reception. Remember to bring your hair dryer.
Review 95:The whole hotel, incl. the rooms could be maintained better and need an update. When we checked in the receptionist did not speak english, it was very complicated. We wanted a one night extension and we had to book (at the reception desk) through booking.com again. Seemed pretty strange.
Review 96:The meals were good, liked the buffet style half board and the breakfast very much.
Review 97:that the toilet paper finished from all the public toilets and noody hurried to bring more even if I stated it to a few members of the staff, the beds were separate and there was a big gap between them even if I asked for a big double bed.
Review 98:the spa in leonardo clu, the food, the garden
Review 99:basic
Review 100:Fairly basic, not sure why hotel looked rough, nothing really wrong with it. It just looked like it should be demolished or refurbished a lot. Very close to fantastic walk up Maale Bokek, just across the road, fantastic views below, climb to sea level i.e. about 1,300 feet.
Review 101:Very old and dirty hotel. Personnel does not even try to be polite and resolve issues. Everything is falling into pieces. Food offer during meals is poor. They don't have dryer in the room - you have to rent at reception. Coffee is terrible - made of powder. The vouchers to this hotel are given to factory workers free of charge, so the hotel is full of workers.
Review 102:Although food offer is poor the quality is good. Location is OK. They provide access to SPA in Herods hotel, which is nice.
Review 103:Everything else... False claim to have wifi in the rooms (it is only in the lobby, contrary to advertised in rooms). Customer service generally appalling. Rude and unfriendly front desk staff. Over 1 hour wait at reception for my room. Terrible currency exchange rate. No change (even shekels). Bar continually closed. Only water and hot drinks available in dining area. Wet carpet in room. Hair on bed sheets. "View" over parking lot. Overall poor management.
Review 104:Food was fairly decent
Review 105:Hotel is a little old but we expected that with booking the cheapest hotel in this extremely overpriced resort area. Also, extremely loud techno music late into the night on Friday which made it hard to sleep or relax.
Review 106:Cheapest hotel in the area and excellent food for both breakfast and the evening meal.
Review 107:half the pool lounge chairs were broken. towels in room were dirty. shower curtain was missing rings, thus water went into the bathroom and there was no floor towel mat given.
Review 108:the garden area between the hotel building and the pool. the walk to the Dead Sea was only ten minutes
Review 109:If to compare with Europe the hotel is 2 stars quality including very poor meals but by the price of average 4**** hotel in Spain, Italy, France.
Review 110:All my requests were accepted and satisfyed by hotel personnel. Thanks for this.
Review 111:Me and a friend of mine were traveling around Israel and decided to stayfor one night in Ein Boqek on the Dead sea. The most affordable pricethat we found through Internet was in Leonardo Inn and we went directlyto the hotel without advance reservation. A man on the reception (Tommy)said that the hotel is sold out and he can't do anything for us. Weshowed him on our iPad an opened page of Booking.com with possibility ofbooking a room in this hotel and everything that he replied was only:"I don't know anything about that". After that we did areservation and showed him a confirmation email of our booking. Thesecond indifferent answer that we heard on that was: " You have towait for 15 minutes to let the system updates to check it up". Ok,15 minutes after I went outside the hotel to find him, because he isgone from reception. When I found him he was smoking and only after hefinished his cigaret, he came back on his working place. What do youthink happened next!? Oh miracle! Suddenly in his database a free roomfor us appeared! Whatever is this hotel from inside untidy, shabby, launched only one question that I have: What's going on withit's management, service and hospitality?
Review 112:Good location
Review 113:- Does not working air conditioner (and this in the Dead Sea!!!) - Food quality is below any standarвы - and please be sure that there is no other place for dinner in Ein Bokek than your hotel - The staff gave your personal information (name, room number) to the 3rd parties so they starts calling you and offering side services just like prostitutes in Russian hotels - Staff is SEEMS to be freindly but no help is being provided - just imitation of it
Review 114:The pool is good
Review 115:Very old building of the hotel, shabby appearance
Review 116:I came to Dead Sea to treat the skin. This hotel is the best value formoney. It is the cheapest on the coast, good food, friendly staff.
Review 117:Worst hotel ever ! The food is horrible, the room is old, smelly and dirty, the staff is barely polite, pool area is dirty, we found nothing good in this hotel. Please don't do that to yourself, add an extra money and go to a decent hotel.
Review 118:Staff attitude, dirty, very run down, was like some strange institution?
Review 119:The hotel was so far removed from the pictures and their website cannot really say more that disappointed
Review 120:Front desk man was unable to tell me how long it would take to drive toMasada, a famous tourist attraction nearby! Two staff members wereunable to explain a loud noise outside our room, and only reluctantlyoffered a new room.
Review 121:Location was convenient next to the Dead Sea. Breakfast was good.
Review 122:that it's not close to the sea as other hotels are but for this price is fair enough.
Review 123:it's very close to the only bar/pub in the town, in fact the pub is there
Review 124:1.The staff were rude and unfriendly2. The hotel lobby is in a shocking state as is most of the hotel and garden. 3. The balcony door in bedroom was broken and couldn't be closed or obviously, locked. 4. Whatever salads weren't finished at one meal were left in the diningroom and served again and again at different meals. There are too many other complaints to list them all but it is one hotel I will never ever return to!!
Review 125:That it was close to Masada. The room was clean.
Review 126:false advertising-they claimed wi- fi everywhere no wi-fi was possible, if it was, as claimed, the charge of $8 per hour, is scandelous. The hotel is very run down-sheets etc., are thin and torn. Fixtures are chipped and not maintained. Smell of smoke evrywhere, despite claim of non smoking areas and rooms. Staff are rude and unhelpful. Hotel is far from beach, despite claims of being "next door to the sea".Other guests very loud into early hours of morning
Review 127:I have no complaints.
Review 128:I booked late no problem and was provided with everything needed to enjoy a lovely and unique holiday resort. I think the standards are improving.
Review 129:I would stress that this is a budget hotel for those who are going touse it as a place to sleep only. This is not a place to relax in the dayand is full of alot of russian tourists.
Review 130:Staff were all excellent and the animals maybe a plus for those whodon't mind them.
Review 131:This Russian-flavored hotel sits in an oasis of hotels and shops about 5miles south of Masada and Ein Gedi beach, spa etc. it boasts somebrilliant views from the balconies that each room seems to have. Therooms are spartan bit reasonably sized with ok bathrooms (don'tdrink the water!) it has seen better days but it is a bargain for thearea. Ignore the sometimes surly staff. 2 stars
Review 132:Rundown hotel--mainly Russians. The (gratis) dinner and breakfast makesthis place a great deal on a budget if you don't mind putting upwith non- working electrical outlets and torn curtains. The bed wascomfortable. The views of the Dead Sea are fabulous?
Review 133:Most staff were helpful and friendly, but some room for improvement.
Review 134:Great location on the Dead Sea. The facility lacks a spa, but offered entrance to the spa at the Meridian Hotel, next door. Great value for the money. Half Board, and food was more than adequate and tasty.
Review 135:Location was pretty good, 5 min walk from the beach. Food was nice, breakfast was ok but dinner was much better. Facilities was not that great, hotel is kind of old. One thing that we really enjoined was the hotel spa next door. It was super nice to be there and have aportunaty to use it. Over all, it could of been a little cleaner.
