Reviews for Villa The Dreamers
Review 1:I did not like the flight of stairs that leads you to the apartment when going to it from the narrow street underneath the villa. Moreover my apartment did not have the whole view of the lake. This actually disappointed me a lot
Review 2:The apartment is situated in a very quiet and central location.
Review 3:A little tired on the inside...Maybe it's traditional. No shower gel/shampoo provided.no tea&coffee provided (one tea bag provided for 2 people staying 2 nights).
Review 4:Incredible views of Lake Como. Great size. Fully equipped kitchen. Clean. Very helpful and friendly staff. Secure underground parking offered!
Review 5:I was surprised to find that the kitchen was lacking in a few basic things. No small knife to cut vegetables, a chopping board, a grater to grate my parmesan cheese and the most important was no kettle to boil water. We used a pot on the stove but at first we could not light the stove as there were no matches. We bought some and left them there. Also had to buy a drying up cloth. I am only mentioning these things so that people booking the little cottage for two people know to bring those things with them. When we got there we phoned the number but no one answered and luckily some people were coming out and they let us in and phoned the lady again. She was very pleasant but seemed in rather a hurry and did not do the usual detailed check in. We never saw her again after that.
Review 6:We loved the position, the lake view and walking through the narrow streets to get to the waterfront. The bed was comfortable and the cottage was clean. There were a lot of stairs to climb but I already knew that so it was not too serious once we got used to them. It was also very quiet except for the birds and the church bells which we loved listening to. Argegno is a charming town and so much nicer than the bigger places heaving with tourists. There was a little bakery just a few meters from the gate where we bought bread, brioches and other supplies.
Review 7:The views on the lake from all apartment windows. The walking distance to the village and to take the boat to see the lake. The apartment in itself was spacious and comfortable for a family (couple plus 2 kids).
Review 8:The outside of building & grounds are charming, the inside of unit is comfortable & pleasant, but not to the standard of some of the more recently renovated 3 star hotels around Lake Como- if that's important to you
Review 9:The views are just a superb. Including from the bed. We loved sitting on balcony having a drink, talking, doing whatever. The property is 3 min walk from centre of town. Argegno has a good vibe, good ferry & bus connections to other towns on the lake. And you can catch a fast funicular up to Pigra 800m above the lake for views & walking, and the C20 bus takes you high up the Val d'Intelvi which runs from Argegno to Switzerland : with beautiful & varied sub & alpine landscape & towns to walk or drive in
Review 10:You can hear the footsteps of the people in the apartment above, which sounded very loud. Fortunately this didn't bother us.
Review 11:The location/view of the apartment is incredible. Breakfast on the balcony was magical. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the well considered welcome provisions were a nice surprise. Argegno is a very cute place with a couple of greats cafes and restaurants on your doorstep - along with the ferry jetty which connects Argegno to the other towns on lake como via boat. We'd stay here again.
Review 12:The girl who checked us in was friendly but spoke very little English. One day no hot water and when we tried to call the owners we didn't get answer, so 1 day no warm shower. A lot of steps down to town (about 70)?, so not suitable for older people. Garage is very "tight", be careful if you have any bigger car. Our apartment wasn't in the big main building, it was a smaller cottage behind it.
Review 13:Close to town, nice view.
Review 14:The villa really needs a good clean and some maintenance. Cobwebs under tables, the rug covered in hairs and the bathroom had hairs everywhere too. It was more noticeable because our baby was walking, crawling and touching everything! Floorboards were very squeaky and some ready to collapse. Front door is about to fall off the door frame. Bathroom is old and had a constant smell, bad drainage in the shower plus the ceiling paint was coming away. Doona and spare pillows were provided but had no cover. Wifi was intermittent at best.
Review 15:Location was excellent to the small town of Argegno. Parking was provided although was very tight. The owners were lovely and helped us carry bags down and up the many stairs. Cot provided for our baby was comfy and clean. The washing machine was great. The view from the villa was AMAZING! We had no issue with the road noise.
Review 16:The reception faculty was awful. After a full days travelling to to a place where there are no temporary parking points on a fast and narrow street is pretty awful. Ended up taking the car and luggage back down into town and walking the back lane to the rear entrance. Luckily I know Argegno and was able to do this. However nobody responded to the bell and I had to prevail upon a neighbour to ring the agents and 20 minutes later I was let in..there was then much fuss about getting into the underground car park and due to being on a hillside there was a struggle with. Them I had to walk back the town and get the rest of my party. Altogether 1 1/2hours between arriving and finally getting bags into the rooms. During this time I discovered the WiFi wasn't working and was asked to sort it myself by getting an extended from our friends room...I was hot, somewhat bothered and asked that they sort it..they did with a shrug of reluctance
Review 17:Views and style
Review 18:Very poor wifi connection; a bit difficult access to the apartment if you have few suitcases
Review 19:The view from the apartment was beautiful; underground parking
Review 20:The villa is very old, need more cleaning, not convenient when traveling with children. A lot of stairs and long distance between the parking and the villa, the building has no elevator. Internet connection is very slow, staff had very limited contact with us. Car parking is very tiny and accessible through Very narrow ramps three stories below ground.
Review 21:The view of the lake
Review 22:The main road being very close, it's a little noisy at times, but it's not a major road with constant traffic. It was absolutely silent at night and early morning. The turns in the garage are very tight, so make sure you rent a smart car. You could see paint marks from other cars at every turn. Still, you get a garage or a parking space, so it's not quite a complaint
Review 23:We slept with the window open, so in the morning, the sun rose above the lake, right in the middle of our window, right opposite the bed. As you walk through the garden, you can smell rosemary. Sadly, we did not have much time to use the lovely lounge, quite well equipped kitchen or garden barbecue as we only stayed 2 days. It was a shame really and we will stay longer next time. It's easy to get to, although if you miss it you end up going quite far up in the hills (beautiful up there). The staff was friendly.
Review 24:Wi-Fi is a waste of time at The Dreamers, it is basically impossible to use because it is so slow.
Review 25:The Dreamers and Argegno are wonderful places to gave a relaxing holiday. Thoroughly recommended
Review 26:A little inconvenient if you do not have a car and have heavy bags.
Review 27:The view from our apartment was to "die for". We will certainly visit again.
Review 28:none
Review 29:The view from the balcony is absolutely amazing. The town is small but very climatic. If you want to have a peaceful and quiet stay, it's perfect. The owner is very helpful. Thank you!
Review 30:Underground parking lot is very tricky: the ramp is extremely narrow and the parking spots are very small. only good for very small cars (we had a big one!)
Review 31:what I didn't like is that the apartment was dirty, no communication between staff and guest, very poor furnished, and most important the window in the main bedroom missing curtains,
Review 32:The vew is unbelievable, spectacular,
Review 33:Everything was great, the view was amazing I could easily just sit there all day. Good facilities, quiet location with local bakery, bars and restaurants.
Review 34:The view is amazing! There literally are no words. When you stand on that balcony you'll see. Aldo Brevi is so friendly and helpful. Everything is designed to feel like home in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Review 35:The garage although excellent but not easy to access if with a big car . You need to be an excellent driver
Review 36:location, Parking Comfort No complaint
Review 37:very difficult to find and once we did it took a while to raise someone to let us in. We finally contacted Paolo who was excellent in getting us set up and comfortable
Review 38:This was an excellent weekend retreat and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Review 39:the heater stopped working on our last night, more condiments for cooking will be appreciated. Thanks!
Review 40:Spacious rooms, beautiful decor, stunning lake views, terrace and garden. Very pleased - the best of our 2 weeks in Italy.
Review 41:Wi fi poor - but that is the area, not the Villas Toilet running all night drained water so we had no hot water for shower before our 30 hour journey home.
Review 42:View from the bed Well appointed kitchen Location Secure parking (though squeezy) Friendly owners (though no response to my email notification of water issue after we left) Good dining recommendations Great little restaurants and bar Lovely part of Lake Como - at least in late October.
Review 43:For that view, not even a squeaky floor board deserves a mention, but an iron would cap it off.
Review 44:The breathtaking view that the advertisement understates: uninterrupted 210 degrees! Good apartment in old building on pedestrian street in a small village where all the simple things of life (eg, great bakery, basic general store, great fresh grocer) all close and inexpensive with great restaurants and ferry close at hand. Lovely garden with plenty of spaces to catch the sun.
Review 45:To reach the apartment you have a difficult walk up the slop. Not suitable for elderly people or members with heart problems
Review 46:The view from the window and balcony. Close to the square There is a bear by baker Close to the main square.
Review 47:Access to wifi, but this i am sure is easily rectified.
Review 48:Accomodation delightful with great view of Lake Como, short walk into Argegno, but be prepared for steps! Extremely helpful staff and warm welcome, very clean. Would recommend and hope to visit again.
Review 49:- it is just a small 'complain' - no breakfasts available
Review 50:- the !VIEW! from the window on the Lake Como - location, it feels that is 'proper Italy' - garage for the car included in the price - well equipped apartment - the atmosphere of the location - apartment was really clean I am really looking forward to visit this place once again!
