Reviews for B&B Tre Metri Sopra il Cielo
Review 1:The location is simply perfect, with a view on the famous stairs and the ancient city centre. The room are cosy and clean, with a lovely personal style touch. The owner is so friendly and happy to help you organizing your visit in Caltagirone and surroundings. I suggest having breakfast with them: the food is authentic and the view from the terrace on the roofs is just a painting.
Review 2:Not easy to find this BnB. (But everyone knows this place,) You need to climb steep stairs.
Review 3:The great location. It couldn't be better! Delicious breakfast with a wonderful view.
Review 4:We stayed for a week in Sicily. With a rented car we drove around. This one was our last stop. It was the most beautiful B&B from our trip! The room was very beautiful and clean, the people were very friendly and the view was amazing! The breakfast on the terrace was delicious.
Review 5:This was the BEST place we lived in all Italia - and we visited more than 12 different cities and hotels and B&B's. This house and owners made a small paradise in Caltagirone! Best of the best! The view from terrace in the morning - is like a dream!
Review 6:We opted for the small room and it was very small... the separate bathroom was not a problem but we found it hard to move around and put our luggage in the small room. Better to pay more I guess and get more room. The position is beautiful but the famous stairs can be difficult - good to plan ahead and not do them too often.
Review 7:Sitting on the terrace overlooking The old town was fabulous! The host was so helpful and the breakfast delicious.
Review 8:were charged 10 € more than what appeared on the voucher. Probably because we did not have breakfast. Only a half roll of toilet paper in room.
Review 9:Room with atmosphere. Fantastic view over town roofs. recommended if you go to Caltagirone
Review 10:Only downside was it was quite noisy at times from other guests. Would still recommend however.
Review 11:Really good place to stay with an amazing location. Host was really friendly and helpful.
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:Fantastic location, very helpful host, quiet except for the dogs in the area. Lovely town. We had a studio in the annex. Great breakfast with a wonderful view
Review 14:We had the economy room which was very small for two people and luggage but we learned to live with it.
Review 15:we loved this place - although the stairs were somewhat difficult, the owners helped as much as they could. The verandah overlooking the city was glorious both for an evening drink and for breakfast. Breakfast was good and generous.
Review 16:Don't try to drive to the B&B by car, very narrow streets and limited parking near the top of the stairs
Review 17:Very friendly host, nice accomodation, nice breakfast and a great view!
Review 18:Problems with parking. But ...Gaetano solve it and has organised placcefor our car ! Imazing person !
Review 19:Owner, Gaetano is very very friendly and helpfull !! He try to do thebest for his guests. He really treat us as a guest -not clients !!!.vERY interestig appartment, lokal atmosfer . We reviewed our trip planand decided to stay 1 night more,
Review 20:nada. niente. nix, grien.
Review 21:i can say that this is the PRETTIEST and COSIEST hotel of my whole trip. The interior design of the rooms made me feel better than at home. Location at the steps of the Stair is superb. Breakfast was so delightful at the terrace with view to the city. LOVED this place!
Review 22:Breakfast could not be provided beyond 9.30am, if it could be offered at 10 or 10.30 that would be nice. It is near the top of the stairs, which at times can lower motivation to explore. No local shops to buy snacks. Despite payment of booking meant to be made at the time of staying. Payment was taken at the time of booking, 6 months earlier. Had to do alot of emailing back and fourth to confirm with the B&B that payment was taken/recieved.
Review 23:Local breakfast with excellent view from the balcony. The self contained separate apartment had a fridge and sky tv which was amazing. Quiet location. Central location in the old town.
Review 24:It has been a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. The access to the B&B by car is not very straightforward but our host were kind enough to pick us at a convenient place to assist with parking the car. Perfect location anyway in Caltagirone and wonderful view of the city, particularly while taking the delicious breakfast prepared by our hosts. Thank you !
Review 25:Although the location was spectacular, it is quite a hassle to get there. It is located at the long and famous steps of the city and we would not advise to travel with big suitcases.. Furthermore, the steps are the place to be for the young people to get together. Because the steps are next to your room it can be a bit loud in the evening.. For us it was no problem, but we can imagine that for an older couple it can be annoing.
Review 26:The host was most friendly! Even though his English was not so well, he did his outmost best to help and guide us! The room was authentic and had an amazing view over the historical city!
Review 27:The pillows were a little too thick and firm for my 70 year old neck.
Review 28:Being located on the famous tiled staircase was wonderful. We could stand on our balcony and people watch! The bedroom was thoughtfully decorated and with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. Breakfast on the terrace was a lovely way to start the day. We were fortunate in finding a car park on Via Ex Matrice and could then walk down with our bags, and by the time we needed to walk up we'd found a way to avoid the stairs!!
Review 29:Our balcony room right above & midway up the famed 142 Scalinata steps, provided a constantly changing, day or night view of tourists & villagers alike, toiling up & down the 142 ceramic-mosaic steps that cascade from Cathedral to Political square below; during our stay they were festively dressed in hundreds of geranium pot-plants for their annual festival. Our B&B, positioned mid-steps gave us choice of steps or gentler sloping tiny cobbled streets with café and smart shops outside front door.
Review 30:Nothing, but steps can be a bit of a challenge, especially carrying suitcases.
Review 31:Fantastic views from the terrace. Cosy, comfortable room with excellent facilities. Great breakfast. Easy to park at top of steps and no charge.
Review 32:Room small and cluttered. Difficult to find space for your bags and belongings. Parking some distance away.
Review 33:We had a room with a view over the lower part of town. Nice breakfast terrace. Staff friendly.
Review 34:finding parking in backstreet slightly stressful even with satnav .... but then it is an ancient Italian hilltop city.
Review 35:excellent location overlooking old city, right in centre. owner very welcoming and helpful. lovely terrace.
Review 36:top hotel, our child did not want to leave, that says everything. Extremely friendly and competent people, we felt at home. As a family father this is priceless and I am very thankful
Review 37:Comfortable apartment with a cosy sitting area. Short walk to an excellent breakfast, which has to be seen to be believed. Views magnificent. Location not for the infirm. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 38:Location (just be aware that you have to climb some stairs) Beautiful B&B, nicely decorated and maintained. Great view of the city from the terrace where you can take breakfast. Quality breakfast Friendliness and helpfulness of host (prepared a map, helped us for connections with buses...)
Review 39:The night before I left there was a lot of noise in the room above my room until about 1:30am.
Review 40:Very clean, cozy and romantic. Beautiful poetry on the walls and tastefully decorated. A bottle of wine and non-alcoholic beverages in the room courtesy of the owners. Gaetano and Linda were very generous hosts. He offered me a ride to the bus station in the early morning too. I would highly recommend this B&B.
Review 41:The annex was in another building which was cheaply fitted out and decorated. Noisy aircon on the small balcony didn't improve the situation.
Review 42:It was adequate and OK for a night, particularly as we arrived late. Perhaps the other rooms are better, but I wouldn't recommend the Junior Suite - Annex.
Review 43:only one complaint- coffee was awful and cold!
Review 44:nice place, beautiful view to the whole city. Breakfast on the balcony with excellent view to the old city.
Review 45:Shower cabin too small. Cannot be reached by car if you enter the address in a navigator. We picked a parking spot (free) 100m from the bb.
Review 46:Very friendly owner who explained some of the city. The b&b has amazing views over the city and our room was below the balcony as seen in the picture, with the same views from our window. The rooms are very cosy and neatly kept.
Review 47:I just loved all the premises and our little room. Such a good taste! And in a perfect location with great views of the beautiful stairs. We had a free wine in our room which was a very lovely surprise. And we enjoyed it on the terrace at the last floor with the best pizza ever (pistachio pizza bought from La Scala - place suggested by the host) - add lovely romantic views and lights of the town - just perfect.
Review 48:The location in the Scala, the fantastic view, the romantic and delicious breakfast, the hostess Gaetano who gave us a lecture about the city history ... The house is very cosy...everything!!
Review 49:Minor issue. The shower head needs replacement
Review 50:The design of the bedroom, the location, and the breakfast. The host is also very friendly and informative.
Review 51:Bathroom is a small, but I think that is difficult wish in this historic building. So we understood this part.
Review 52:We stayed Jr.Sweat.Lovely decorated room. How my daughter was happy, when she saw Flowers and Cookies were put on our beds! Owner Gaetano is very nice and good hospitality.Breakfast in the terrace was very nice like a 5star hotel! My daughter miss very much Gaetano,he is very friendly with kid as well.Grazie mille e Arrivederci!
Review 53:A bit difficult to reach by car or motorbike, due to the structure of the old city.
Review 54:The many extras and the excellent explanations about sightseeing and restaurants in the city of Caltagirone. Marvelous breakfast location on a terrace overlooking the city.
Review 55:Beautiful location and view, spotless and attractive rooms, generous breakfast and welcoming, friendly staff offering plentiful local information. Hope to return!
Review 56:Due to the excellent location next to the famous stairs (landmark of the city), can be noisy in the evening
Review 57:Perfect location & wonderful view from the breakfast terrace, excellent and friendly service
Review 58:Bathroom is a bit small, even more so compared to the room.
Review 59:Breakfast in the terrace with coffee granita and an amazing view is definitely the best part. Big room with pay-tv. Hosts are very friendly.
Review 60:Not very easy to find and you need to be able to cope with steep stairs
Review 61:Wonderful breakfast terrace
Review 62:Central location. Very friendly and helpful owner. View from the breakfast balcony.

Review 67:tricky to get to on loaded bikes!!
Review 68:great view, very nice room, comfy bed, very good breakfast. Right on La Scala.
Review 69:A bit difficult to find parking in the area. Use a small car to get there.
Review 70:Excellent location and facilities and owners.
Review 71:Characterful furnishings
Review 72:Difficult access especially for disabled
Review 73:Quality linen, breakfast decor
Review 74:location view hospitality
Review 75:It is a wonderfully decorated, homely B&B, centrally located. Great breakfast and very nice host.
Review 76:Tough to park
Review 77:Location, rooms and friendly owner
Review 78:Hosts very welcoming and proud of their city.
Review 79:Friendly staff, received emailed instructions for parking which was great. Location right off the stair way. Excellent restaurant recommendations.
Review 80:Location
Review 81:Perfect location. Breakfast terrace has the loveliest view over the city! Very friendly and helpful hotel owner.
Review 82:Very nice atmosphere, great breakfast in a nice location
Review 83:The host
Review 84:Charming place to stay and breakfast with the swifts
Review 85:We like climbing steps since we are fit but, unless you can climb steep steps and many of them, this is not for you. Finding parking is so difficult you would be advised to approach by taxi. Don't plan to carry luggage up the steps, again, unless you are very fit!
Review 86:Great location half way up the famous Scalinata del Santa Maria del Monte. Our spacious and well-appointed room was in another building but close to the actual B&B. The view from the B&B terrace is superb. Your host, Gaetano, is friendly and helpful.
Review 87:Walk so much stairs uphill could be problem for someone else (but we were ok with it)
Review 88:Breakfast was fantastic, great location (central, just on stairs), nice terrasse is offering splendid view. It was surprisingly quiet place. Service was perfect and Caltagirone is beautiful. Definitely we would come again! Reccomended..
Review 89:Our room had private but separate bath, which was not very comfortable, though we knew it in advance. Parking was very hard to get, though the owner was very helpful in finding one. Because of the special location you have to carry your luggage up or down over 50 step, which is an ordeal. You must be in shape for this facility.
Review 90:The most beautiful and unique location possible- right off the famous stairs! Breathtaking view from brrakfast porch. Great breakfast, very elrgantly served. Great service, very friendly and helpful. The owner speaks english!
Review 91:the server is a bit rude.. when I was packing in my room, he entered and move my stuff out. I had to pack on the hallway sitting on the floor. it s easy to reach the house for people with disability as there a lot of stairs to step
Review 92:the host was great and the breakfast was succulent. the private bathroom is outside but next to the room. it s great and clean and cheap because of that.. so it was not inconvenient
Review 93:We wait form 30 minutes at the gate. nobody was here Breakfast was horrible The server wasn't friendly at all. The bathroom was outside the room.
Review 94:The view and the balcony
Review 95:Nightmare!! Owner charged my credit card twice! When informed, heclaimed it was "IMPOSSIBLE" to make credit refund or do wiretransfer. Booking.com got involved, but still haven't receivedrefund! Also charged me 4 breakfast never received. Overpriced roomwas overfilled w/ furniture and knickknacks. Owner had poorcommand of English. &Quot;Tour" of area consists of pointingthings out on map.
Review 96:Place was clean. Breakfast was ok. Good location.
Review 97:Gaetano is an extremely kind and flexible person. He did his best to make our stay perfect and accomodate any need we had. Too much has already been said about the excellent breakfast with daily handmade cakes.
Review 98:Wifi did not work during entire stay.
Review 99:Location was absolutely fantastic. View onto the steps and over the roof tops of Caltagirone. Room very clean and nicely decorated.
Review 100:100 wide, deep steps to this B&B. Take your time and visit the ceramics shops while you climb.
Review 101:Most romantic. Right on the signature steps of Caltigirone, a Sicilian town known for ceramics and nativity scenes.
Review 102:Hard to find. Just park the car in the area and walk to the B&B. Since it it in the middle of the long ceramic stairs with no traffic possible.
Review 103:Suberb Breakfast with a various range of delicious food, also fresh made "yummie" Sicilian pies (made by the owner himself!), good cappucino and a wonderful view over the city, a dream. And the Bathroom is so beautiful decorated, really great!
Review 104:Absolutely fantastic place, best B&B experience ever! Great location, 2 steps from the main city attraction, and interior design, everything arranged with big attention to details and good taste. Delicious breakfast on the city view terrasse with variety of coffees and local specialties. Excellent service, cosy rooms with great views and family atmosphere. Definitely gives inspiration...
Review 105:nothing or maybe for the less sporty the few steps to the sky
Review 106:A really nice place to stay in the heart of Caltagirone. The host is really attentive, give good advices & tipps about the city, restaurants... The breakfast (with typical sicilian food) with view on Caltagirone from the terrasse is lovely. I definity recommand!
Review 107:Almost everything, the friendly personnel, great breakfast with a great view, cleanliness, beautiful location though too many stairs to climb and descend (I really thought the B&B was located at the base of the famous stairs of Caltagirone).
Review 108:the steps but then this is my problem as I am completely A lazy slob....
Review 109:feeling welcome, the views from the terrace, the breakfast, the willingness of being kind and helpful by tano and his helper fernando from srilanka....the position is amazing on the scalinata
Review 110:Although it was hard to find (we lugged our bags up and down the 142 steps of La Scala) it is a beautifully decorated B&B with many thoughtful touches and a spectacular view from our room. The morning breakfast on the terrace was delightful. Highly recommend!
Review 111:It could have been very peaceful but a bit of noise during the nightfrom a pump was a bit disturbing.
Review 112:What an amazing location - how lucky were we to be right on the famousstairs. It did mean we earned our dinner by going up and down 5 times. The room was really a full suite decorated with such thought and verystylish. It was privilege to have breakfast on their gorgeous terraceoverlooking the city and just the best breakfast of our trip.Unforgettable.
Review 113:There are many steps between you and dinner but that that is the whole point of staying in that location.
Review 114:What a fantastic place. We loved it. The setting is gorgeous. The views for breakfast on the terrace were amazing. If possible ask for the room with views to the cathedrale. We stayed for four days and used it as a base. Caltagirone will only hold your attention for a day unless you are a ceramic enthusiast but what an amazing B&B to use as a base.
Review 115:Squeaky/uncomfortable beds. Small rooms. Bathroom key sometimes didn't work. Electricity turned off after 3am
Review 116:Great location. Owner helped find parking space close-by (which is really hard to find)
Review 117:Not easy to reach by car because of the small one way streets in Caltagirone. However, owner directly came to pick us up after we had called him (I would recommend this to any visitor).
Review 118:Very friendly owner, nice room, great view from terrace
Review 119:The difficult access and the struggle with steps and luggage.
Review 120:The stunning views from the roof top breakfast area.
Review 121:Best family run B&B in our trip, located in the heart of Caltagirone. Kind and customer oriented hotel owner. Thank you Gaetano!
