Reviews for Villa Sumbing Indah
Review 1:Water heater is not operating properly. When it was fixed, it was too heat and if we try to reduce the flow it was suddently became cold. The taste of the breakfast was terrible, very sour. And finally, the receptionist didn't informed us on our arrival about the extra 3% charges if we settle the payment using credit card for non BRI credit card despite there is a clear sign on the receptionis desk that they receive payment from visa and mastercard
Review 2:We were traveling in a large group, and we had booked almost all the rooms save one. The flow of warm water in the showers were inconsistent, especially if all were showering at the same time.
Review 3:Relaxing place that is away from the hustle and noise of the city, yet near to Borobodur temple. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Love the sweet pastries that came with butter and local jams. Air was cool and refreshing in the evenings, even without air conditioning. Love the views of the surrounding rice paddies and mountains in the distance. Do note that the sound of early morning prayers at 4am may wake lighter sleepers. Not too much of an issue - it is part of the travel experience in this country, but bring ear plugs if this bothers you.
Review 4:There was no constant hot water which made showering a bit of a hassle.
Review 5:The people, food, rooms and views were great. Loved the meals we had there and the hosts were super friendly.
Review 6:There was nothing we disliked at this property.
Review 7:From the time we arrived Christoph and Yanti were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were polite and accommodating and the service was second to none. The food was excellent and Christophe cooked up the most delicious steaks we have eaten. The room was really great and comfortable with amazing views from all areas of the villa. They really have created something special
Review 8:Spent a weekend there for personal getaway and had a really great time. The place feels like you're really one with nature and tranquility surrounding you with the wonderful view of the mountains, fields and city in the distance is just perfect. The staff were friendly, helpful and really made me feel like home. Definitely gonna pay villa sukbing another visit! Highly recommended
Review 9:-the menu was kind of unusual in it's selection but good traditional local food was also offered
Review 10:-beautiful setting in the countryside, among the rice paddies and away from the city -the poolside rooms were very nice, comfortable and well appointed -the food was well prepared -service and staff were excellent -enjoyed a wonderful walk exploring the local area
Review 11:The best thing about this location - and this is saying something if you think how great the view is - is the food. The restaurant was excellent with lots of variety on offer. We would consider returning, not because of the view, there are other hotels in the area. The restaurant and the great staff set this place apart.
Review 12:There is not a great variety on the menu but the quality of the food is amazing. The morning calls to prayer at around 4am might disturb a light sleeper. There is no fridge or airconditioner in the room. However, it was cool in December, so we didn't miss the aircon much!
Review 13:Villa Sumbing is small with only 5 rooms & the staff are extremely attentive. They helped arrange drivers, and booked tickets for us to the Ramayana ballet. We enjoyed energetic treks through the surrounding paddy fields and village, recommended by the owner. The beauty of the nearby mountains is absolutely breathtaking!
Review 14:A perfect setting on the side of the hill where the sun can be seen rising from behind the volcano. Walking in the country roads taking in the sight of the surrounding lush green vegetation. Smiling locals. Good food and fresh vegetables from their own garden. Well tended garden. Clean pool.
Review 15:Charming villa set amongst rice paddies with staff who are welcoming & genuinely helpful. Ideal base for exploring the area & visiting Borobudur.
Review 16:Nothing really, perhaps the only drawback would be that you are out in the country so nowhere to go to eat other than the hotel. Also not close to the Borobudur temple complex but that is what we liked.
Review 17:We loved the location, set in rice fields, they have a great walk you can do from the hotel. The staff were wonderful, couldn't do enough to help us, their driver was also excellent. We only had 2 nights there primarily to see Borobudur which is about 40 minutes drive away, and were the only guests. There are 5 rooms, ours was lovely, outdoor covered verandah overlooking the pool, I imagine it could get very busy in the summer. Food in the restaurant was excellent, offering both French and local cuisine.
Review 18:No more negative point
Review 19:Nice service ,the people take care of us with some special attention.the french owner take the time to speak with you and to explain the differents culture of this country.we dont need to quit this place for take a meal, the guest will be offer a nice menu and food.finally is the Bestplace for us in one month of many trips and hotel in indonesia
Review 20:Beautiful and calm, super place to people looking for some quiet places with rice fields sorrounding, the owner and staff were brilliant! Friendly and accommodating, they treated us as family! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We'll be back to stay as the place is so peaceful!
Review 21:No access to public transport.
Review 22:Its a peersonalized service and not crowded.
Review 23:the water for shower took a long time to get warm
Review 24:the view and clean air, the friendliness of the owner and staffs

Review 27:nothing
Review 28:everthing - great location (out of the way rural), good food and excellent staff
Review 29:tranquil location so it's good for chilling out
Review 30:The scenery surrounding the villa was beautiful. The staff told us a great route to go walking through the local villages and rice fields. The villa itself was great, very big rooms, good pressure in the shower, fab swimming pool and a tree house! The staff were attentive and very polite. The food was excellent with a good variety available.
Review 31:The owners and staff are both friendly and helpful. The owners actually put together breakfast boxes when they knew we left early for our tours. They mingled with us and gave us suggestions on what we could do in Yogya as well as within the vicinity. The location is quite far away from the city but the villa was really a nice place, in a quiet yet local vicinity. We managed to meet plenty of locals during our walks who are actually very friendly.
Review 32:The first call to prayer from nearby mosques is at 4:30 a.m. Earplugs recommended if you're a light sleeper.
Review 33:Almost everything. Fantastic pool, wonderful food, great support on excursions, relatively cooler at 2,600 feet elevation. Beautiful terraced rice paddies all around. Interesting local culture. Owners and staff very friendly, generous, and helpful. A superb value.
Review 34:Location was not central to anything and therfore had to eat in the restaurant in the hotel which left a lot to be desired. There were a lot of flies in the restuarant.
Review 35:The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was big and had a spectacular view of a volcano. The staff were friendly and accomodating.
Review 36:Food menu could have a bit more options. After a day or two, the food gets a little repetitive.
Review 37:Great location in the countryside, surrounded by rice paddies and with views of mountains.
Review 38:The restaurant!! Breakfasts are good, but there are no other options for having a dinner around the hotel and the "French" restaurant is quite disappointing.
Review 39:The village, the pool, the rice fields.
Review 40:Yanti was incredible hospitable and we were treated as special guests. Special juices, fruit and little bits were offered frequently and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful
Review 41:A small hotel with stunning views of the rice fields, good staff and a great kitchen, a clean pool, around flowers, cozy. The rooms spacious and comfortable, and the pool 2 meters. The hotel offers tours, prices are not very high.
Review 42:The hotel is in the countryside. So if you're skittish about bugs, this is not a good place for you.
Review 43:The staff went over and beyond making sure that we were comfortable. The owners even babysat our small children so that my husband and I could see Borobudur at sunrise, for free! We really got personal attention. The food was also really good.
Review 44:Open-air rooms with no screens, no air-conditioning, wide openwindows on ground floor level - security? Worries with mosquitoes aswindows need to be open in this climate (netting only on double bed, none on the single beds). Room to accommodate 4 only had one benchwhich could seat 3.
Review 45:The pool, the peace and quiet (especially after spending time in bigIndonesian cities.) The restaurant was adequate. Lovely garden, fishpond. Lovely views in all directions, staff eager to please.,
Review 46:No one spoke English. That was challenging. It is far away but they included the ride from the airport in our rate which we did not know.
Review 47:Everyone was very accommodating and very gracious
