Reviews for Oasis Dead Sea Hotel

Review 1:It took a long time to check in. Bathroom could be a little larger.

Review 2:The hotel facilites are great (the swimming pool and the Turkish bath are great), Breakfast is excellent and the room is very comfortable.

Review 3:The food was POOR with a very small choice compared to other hotels in Ein Bokek. Service in the restaurant was also sloppy. Did not see a supervisor which BADLY needed

Review 4:?????

Review 5:-very shabby towels and robe. robe cost 40 shekels to hire and was not worth that money to buy- ragged and discoloured. Bring your own! -Wifi painfully slow, and even had no service for a few hours -paper thin walls, I could hear the next room´s tv very clearly

Review 6:-location close to sandy part of ein bokek -ample selection of fresh fruits and vegetables at the buffet -free parking

Review 7:Room was not very clean, bedding had little holes. In case of loud neighbors you can hear them well in your room.

Review 8:Room and spa facilities were quite comfortable. Bus stop is right next to the hotel. Food most of them time was good.

Review 9:it was good

Review 10:really good place - straight in front of dead sea with nice small spa, good breakfast (though no meat at all - just fish, but it's like this in many hotels). Rooms spacious, bathroom clean, stuff helpful, free bike rent

Review 11:Cleaning was very poor. They had thrown our pyjamas on table and cleaned only bet. After complaint they did it better.

Review 12:It is very good location. Nice salty pool.

Review 13:lobby food service - staff inefficient and unwelcoming, some dining room staff not obliging and abrupt breakfast buffet well below standard evening meals were good sea view barely visible from'sea view, room

Review 14:spa and gym good check in staff helpful

Review 15:Some of the staff weren't able to speak English and when we tried to purchase something from the bar, we were sent from place to place. But ended up being sent back to the same place and not able to purchase what we wanted.

Review 16:Fantastic stay. They ungraded us for free as it was our honeymoon and gave us a bottle of complimentary red wine, 2 Dead Sea moisturiser and a cake! The room was clean and felt fantastic staying there!!!! SPA facilities was also awesome especially the heated Dead Sea pool. This hotel is a must!

Review 17:Staff were rude. Food expensive so make sure you get half board as there are almost no food options. Indoor and outdoor pool and fitness centre close at 6pm?? Private beach difficult to find, no directions or help, (and it closes at 3:30pm), then no towels available at the beach. It did provide some amusement watching all the people walk around in the robes trying to find the right private beach! Do yourself a favour, visit the Dead Sea on the Jordanian side, it's a far better experience.

Review 18:Room was clean and comfortable.

Review 19:we didin't like quality and service in restaurant the light in restaurant is also is bad the walls in entrance of restaurant look like it need good repair toilets in lobi were dirty on friday morning it looks like the hotel had been repaired, but maintenance of clearness is not good enouth

Review 20:It was a nice surprise to reveal a cake and bottle of water in our room. spa was really good and full of different facilities massage was good design and clearness of room were nice

Review 21:1. We are two sisters were put in the room for 1 person with extra bed. It was no room to walk or even sit and have a coffee, bed sheets were stained. Asked to move us to another room. Hardly we were moved to a standard suite with enough room for two of us, but 2. to open or to close a door we had to hit it hard, with all the body weight 3. We looked at the doors in the hotel that all of the frames are old and hardly attached to the walls 4. Cleaning lady was just making a bed leaving floor not washed and not vacuumed. After she left we found more dirt on the floor then before, I even photographed it... 5. on the hallway dirty floor and carpet 6. Food selection for breakfast is very limited, compare to the other same level hotels in the area. In the morning not all tables are available and sometimes you have to wait to get the table, although other tables are empty but "they are prepared for lunch"???!!! 7. Staff members at the main desk are very slow and sometimes they are pretending that they don't see you at all

Review 22:Main floor is designed beautify, beach is ok, spa is small but cute

Review 23:Towels are very old, they may give you every day a new one but you can see how destroyed they are.

Review 24:Location, private beach, breakfast, fitness and spa, convenient rooms.

Review 25:No guidance or any sign at the beach to show us which is the hotel private beach , we had to look 30 min to find it . At the front desk we couldnt find any guidance pamflet or map of the aria in English , all in Hebrew . The rooms are nice but in my room i had no lamp next to the bed as i like to read before going to sleep .

Review 26:The pool , spa and the beach are nice .

Review 27:Lunch and dinner are way ..expensive, with just one option -fixed price for the whole meal-.

Review 28:Gorgeous patios and nice proximity to the beach. Also pool and saunas are great with beautiful architecture.

Review 29:Back to 1993! Hotel and rooms need renovation! NOW!!!. Huge queue to reception and only one receptionist. Most of guest are from Russia. Dead See is like chemical sea. Not worth!

Review 30:Nic (Nothing). One of the cheapest hotel in Ein Bokek.

Review 31:This is the email I sent to the hotel manager following our visit in October 2015, the hotel has great potential but it is (understatement ahead) poorly managed.Hope they can improve in the near future...----------------------------During our stay we had quite a few incidents in which we felt like we are staying at a youth hostel rather than a 4 star hotel which was very upsetting especially when considering this is how my guests (and others) might perceive Israel tourism services. Some examples:On our first day we arrived at about 10pm, the staff were kind enough to leave diner at our room, since we already had pizza on the way we did not eat and left it on the counter in the room along with the empty pizza box, to our surprise the food and the box were still thereon the next day when we came back to the room after it was cleaned. What was really frustrating is that the food was actually still there till the day we checked out (we left it there intentionally to see when the staff will take it away). On more than one occasion when we used the hotel lifts, we saw staff members using them as service lifts. For example we had a staff member rolling a large green trash can into the elevator while we were standing in it or someone else carrying food on a large rack in and out of the elevator. Similarly we also had the same experience in the lobby where we saw employees moving food between the two dining areas inside the hotel premise.Sitting out at night in the nice hotel garden, we frequently experienced shouting from the staff area as well as saw a few employees standing on the dish/waste disposal trollies using them like a skateboard and “driving” them around like children in front of the guests.Dining area, more often than none we saw a lot of flies and other bugs in and around the food. For some reason the staff feels like it’s a good idea to use large fruits as decoration without seeing that it is a nesting ground for various insects.

Review 32:Location, reasonable price

Review 33:people smoking on the balconys- you could smell the cigarettes through the windows. The swimming pool is closing too early.

Review 34:We enjoyed the hotel, and the fact that there were no children. Nice breakfast, rooms clean and quiet.

Review 35:Bath looked a bit damaged. Food looked much better than tasted.

Review 36:Nice facilities - pool, spa. View of the beach. Large breakfast buffet. Free parking.

Review 37:The pictures are deceiving, the room is extremely small and the "sea view" is the size of a medicine cabinet. Largely placed over the roaring engines of the mechanics of the hotels in the area. The walls were dirty and the rooms are old and need to be remodeled. We immediately left and did not keep the booking.

Review 38:The parking was smooth, but we left and did not keep the booking.

Review 39:Good room, nice breakfast, nice location. The staff was unfriendly and not helpful at all. We ordered breakfastboxes for a hike for the early morning instead of regular breakfast. It was forgotten and the desk didn't even apologized and said nothing but "seems we forgot. Have a nice day".

Review 40:rooms have no balcony; outdoor swimming pool isn't very impressive;

Review 41:good value for money 4* hotel (for the Dead Sea prices in Israel); great staff, kind and willing to help; clean, large enough room with partial Dead Sea view; good (included) breakfast and dinner; free parking & wi-fi; great SPA center; nice free private Dead Sea beach across the street;

Review 42:The dinners were pretty bad, especially Saturday night when it seemed as if they just reheated leftovers. The beach shuttle never seemed available. Some staff members, particularly Tatiana at the dining room desk were downright rude and surly. The pool closes at 6 pm -- just when you want a swim after a long trek on Masada. The bar is a joke. Slits for windows and no balconies.

Review 43:Haim at the front desk made us feel truly welcome. The housekeeping staff were terrific. The breakfast was good if low on fruit. Our rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 44:Apparently our room was situated close to the main hotel air conditioner, so the noise was such as an helicopter was trying to land over the roof.

Review 45:Great breakfast, the best I've ever had.

Review 46:old building, needs renovation, very small rooms only for one person to be comfortable

Review 47:People. staff., location, andthe pool location, that it is not on the road, and it is good that the hotel itself has greens before the road.

Review 48:Dated not very clean especially the pool area room was not what I asked for and very basic towels where old and no longer white no private beach or service

Review 49:Location for a visit to the dead sea

Review 50:The staff was very helpful. The food was excellent. The location was in close proximity to the Dead Sea. Had a treatment super massage, and a fabulous pedicure on my crusty feet. My feet are feeling and looking fantastic now!!

Review 51:The adjacent room shared a door, and all night could hear their television and voice. The location is at the far end of the Dead Sea....a very far drive. Many problems with sink holes along the way. Maybe these hotels could put pressure on the government to not drain the dead sea?!

Review 52:The location is lovely, across from the sea. Includes a large buffet breakfast , cost is worth it. Enjoyed a free short massage by the pool ( sea water)-tip most appreciated, I am sure. The hot tub was relaxing, or go across the road to the real thing!

Review 53:the indoor pool is much much smaller than in the pics, and you were required to pay 30 ils to get in (though we weren't charged) no bathrobes, you have to pay for that as well. Service is really bad, it's obvious that they were expecting rich russian couples, front desk guy barely knew any English or Hebrew but he was a trainee. The other clerk was really far from welcoming. We came to celebrate my husband's birthday, I mentioned it in our order and recieved confirmation that this will be covered at no expense. I asked the clerk if she can see it, she said yes but we got absolutely nothing, not even a happy birthday or chocolates on our pillows Wifi didnt connect Food variety and quality was very poor Regular rooms are just tiny! No porches or sea view, when they say sea view it's actually sea side The pool and late checkout compensated somehow, but it's probably one of the worst hotels on the dead sea. Go to Isrotel, Herods, David or Daniel, that's what I'll be doing next time

Review 54:Late checkout on Saturday The outdoor pool was nice

Review 55:Poor understanding of English led to some difficult communication. Staff mainly speak Russian as a first or second language.

Review 56:The pool and the wide choice of food at breakfast and evening buffet. Also the evening musical acts in the bar/lounge were entertaining.

Review 57:The waiters and cleaning staff were rude and unpleasant Sweaming pool bar close

Review 58:Very nice clean hotel Reception staff very kind and friendly Very close to privet beach Good steaming pool

Review 59:When we got there the pool side was very dirtly (a lot of people were there on Saturday and the pool was not cleaned properly) but the following day it was much better. Also as mentioned by other people, shame the pool closes at 6pm

Review 60:Hotel was really nice. contrary to some of the reviews I did not find the staff unhelpfull or rude and everything was good (lovely but basic room, nice food in the evening and for breakfast). Spa looked really good and the masseur even offered a free massage. Wish I had time for a proper treatment in the beautiful spa.

Review 61:We had a large group, check in was a little rough. Some of the towels in the room were not clean. The service in the bar was REALLY slow. There were issues with cleanliness, not exactly in the rooms but in the elevator.

Review 62:The hotel location and food were excellent!

Review 63:Checkin was a bit messy with no semblance of a line, just had to fight my way to a staff member. Nobody brought us water at meals. Not very attentive mealtime service.

Review 64:Rooms were lovely and clean, breakfast was a delicious and varied buffet of classic israeli dishes and other options. Dead Sea beach was just across the street and wasn't too crowded.

Review 65:The facilities we poorly staffed. Not friendly staff almost hostile. Don't deliver what they promise no hotel services. Poor menu if you don't want buffet. Poorly staffed.

Review 66:Location

Review 67:Costumers very ineducated: people used to take food with hands from the trays and speak loudly. Air conditioned too strong in the hall of the hotel. Minimum choice at the hotel bar (pizza and salad were awfull) In general Ein Bokek doesn't offer much: it could be useful only for a swim in the dead sea, but don't go in summer 'cause the water is just too hot!

Review 68:The beach in front of the hotel

Review 69:Restaurant service was terrible! Personal was friendly but non professional/ as amateurs in soccer! Food was tasty but no choices and the same every day for many years!

Review 70:Good outdoor swimming pool)

Review 71:There were 2 cockroaches in our room, we stayed for 2 nights... and the bathtub was dirty and there were blood drops in the bed.

Review 72:The buffet was really good.

Review 73:broken glass on floor!?!?!? expensive pool drinks/food. furniture (baby cribs/beds) in hallways for hours. much of staff seems unhappy. pool/spa/fitness room closes at 5/6?

Review 74:Natzya at reception was really cool/nice food. breakfast superviser really cool/helpful/kind

Review 75:no ice machine no water machine near the rooms flies in the dining room dishes were not cleaned sufficiently

Review 76:saltwater pool Olga - the hardcore masseuse nice hammocks beautiful lobby good facials live jazz music by the indoor pool in the evening

Review 77:Wifi was a little weak, the queen size bed was actually two twin beds, door in the bathroom was hard to open from the inside.

Review 78:Very good hotel, close to a private beach, very rich and great dinner/breakfast, staff was very friendly, professional and helpful, Big Spa in the hotel, Prices on the Bar and pool was okay (not expansive as the nearest supermarket). They also let us enjoy the pool and spa after check out.

Review 79:The only problem was that we couldn't stay longer!!

Review 80:Proximity to the Dead Sea was great with our own private beach. Fabulous buffet. Great massages. Great food.

Review 81:Internet was not consistent, lost connection and was had to reconnect.

Review 82:Low cost for facilities and location. Dinner and Breakfast was excellent, Have had better in other hotels at 2x the cost or higher.

Review 83:Plates and cups at breakfast were very dirty. Changed them to new ones, but still got dirty ones... The staff is not very good in English.

Review 84:Clean rooms, good location next to the beach and cozy pool area.

Review 85:pool was only open till 6. Spa only open till 5. Poor attitudes at the counter. Staff couldn't assist with TV programming or provide general answers about the area

Review 86:The spa was excellent. Breakfast buffett was also excellent

Review 87:Not very good wi-fi quality, found 2 cockroaches in bathroom (cleaning staff collected them very fast)

Review 88:Very helpful staff, very good location, great food - breakfast and dinner, beach towels, SPA center, interior, evening programm

Review 89:Insufficient parking so (almost) had to use a costly parking lot. Elevator is small and only two elevators so had to wait a long time. Service was not bad but not good either. Some safety issues like uneven stairs lack of life guard during short periods of time.

Review 90:Good location Nice pool and pool side Dinner and breakfast were ok Good cable tv

Review 91:We tried to use the microwave heating out food in thr bar, and they refused our request. do not understand very well. Beside this, everything is perfect.

Review 92:Close to the sea; clean and comfortable; sea view; not that expensive if one books early; equipments are new and good; SPA service available;

Review 93:For that class of hotel, you would expect at least most Reception staff to speak English. Even spa staff and waitresses were Russian-speaking with virtually no English. Pool closed at 18.00 so you couldn't swim when it was cooler! Staff in lounge bar were unhelpful and surly.

Review 94:Location, spa and design of hotel.

Review 95:Rooms were a bit worn looking i.e. scuff marks on the walls, furniture rusted in places, grout in the bathroom chipped but this shouldn't detract from your stay. Staff had to be coaxed in order for them to help you out.

Review 96:The spa facilities were great. Dinner/breakfast buffets have plenty of selection and are good quality. The grounds of the hotel are kept nicely. The negative aspects of the hotel shouldn't keep you from having a great time.

Review 97:Staff gave overall impression of being very dissatisfied, so not enough service orientated. parking too small, internet strength poor to not available.

Review 98:Pleasant housing atmosphere, good breakfast, nice spa and pool, perfect location

Review 99:If you are on the edges of the building, the wifi doesn't come through

Review 100:Staff is very friendly, Very good location, good servides of spa fitness etc... good food for breakfast and dinner

Review 101:Cleanliness was a problem. Not just in the room. The dustpin at the lift at the 4 floor was not emptied in 7 days! I heard comments from some Canadians about it as well. Surely there must be someone who checks such things. It' s a pity because it spoils the impression of a wonderful country and a wonderful place. Sunbeds and chairs on the beach were dirty. Some people use mud and it sticks to beds and chairs. It creates problems for the personell but still somebody should wash them otherwise it is not pleasant to use them.

Review 102:Good location- beach is just across the road. Good food. Friendly people at the reception, especially Arkady. I wonder if the owners of the hotel realize how much he does to create a good and easy atmosphere. He speaks fluent Russian and it helps not just with tourists from Russia, but residents of Israel with Russian background. Nothing was difficult with him, he organized everything in the most quiet and efficient way. I will also thank a security man Avner that taught me some Hebrew - an extremely polite and charming young man.

Review 103:You need to keep the water dispenser at the beach full of water and ice. It was almost always empty. It would be nice it the pool and beach were open later, at least until 8 or 9 PM (20:00 or 21:00).

Review 104:The food was good. Check in and out were easy. The pool was great. The massages were great. The beach was great.

Review 105:Early closure of pool and lack of English speaking staff. The room could have been equiped with a Do Not Disturb sign. Greater TV chanel choice.

Review 106:Facilities and treatments.

Review 107:the room was small, but ok for our needs the shower was funny - no door, so the water was all over the bathroom floor. The bathroom door was semitransparent: no privacy...

Review 108:location, breakfast, dinner, spa

Review 109:The room had smelled like old, there was not a for children, and the rooms were smaller than expected. The hotel overall was nice but it needed maintenance.

Review 110:The food was good, the staff was very helpful, and the location was perfect.

Review 111:The bathrooms are small and the solarium chairs hadn't been cleaned in a long time.

Review 112:The spa was perfect! Clean, comfortable and with everything we wanted. The food was interesting and tasty.

Review 113:The food was mediocre. The beds were like sleeping on a wood board. The blankets were barely the size of a twin bed. The bathroom had a glass door that did not completely close. Everything was low quality, especially considering the high price.

Review 114:Spa offered many affordable services at reasonable prices.

Review 115:The bathrooms are a bit small. The bed is two singles placed together. A bit expensive but ALL hotels at the Dead Sea are and this one was a bit more reasonable.

Review 116:Great spa facilites. Wonderful masseuse and reflexologist. Good food. Nice staff.

Review 117:Closed the pool at 6 pm. Stairwell never cleaned in the 2 days we were there. Staff not overly friendly.

Review 118:Indoor salt water pool was nice. Food pretty good.

Review 119:The linen was changed only once duting my 6 nights stay. The cleaning coordinator Anaesthesia was argumentative and unfrendly. Very small bathroom, always full of water on the floor. The showers in the SPA are dirty with lots of hair in on the floor.

Review 120:Great location. Friendly front office staff, especially Victoria and the male clerk ( don't know his name). Great breakfast and dinners, free Wi-Fi in the rooms.

Review 121:room clean and comfortable but shower needs redoing. No shower mat and floor slippery when wet-used hand towel as shower mat. no small dish for soap. Area around spa VERY slippery. Food very good and great variety. Staff friendly.

Review 122:How come dinner buffets do not have coffee with desert?

Review 123:Can walk to beach, swim in heated pool and use of steam room and sauna. Large buffet selection.

Review 124:They very often run out of bathrobes and towels in spa. A lot of peoplein spa. Very bad inernet signal in rooms. Nothing to do in the evenings. No normal cocktails in the bar. Live music could be better. Some staffmembers are super slow. Be ready that they will ask you to pay depositfor bathrobes, towels and sign documents to get them :) Staff in arestaurant is not very fast to clean tables.

Review 125:After reading all reviews we were ready for worth :). Location. You haveto cross a road to get to the private beach, but it is still ok. Spa.Very good therapists, really recommend. Food. Quite a good breakfast anddinner, but could be boring if you stay more than 3 nights. Parking. Wealways found a place.

Review 126:Worn down room, and tired staff. Most of the staff doesn't even speak English. Too crowded at the breakfast and the omelett station was a disaster. Only one coffee machine and no signs in english

Review 127:?

Review 128:The WIFI is free but for a short time only, after you have to pay a rate if you want fast speed. So I was not really able to use it at all because it was very slow.

Review 129:The staff at the front desk was very helpful to be willing to give directions and tour options that I had not thought off before saving us a little money.

Review 130:Food could be better in terms of variety. And coffee machine was broken and no alternative explanations provided. Not even a note like "do not use, very sorry"

Review 131:Staff helpful

Review 132:Do not be conned by the taxi drivers who offer cheap fares to Masada. The one we used was an unpleasant character and a blatant liar.

Review 133:The hotel is extremely well situated and very comfortable . Swimming in the Dead Sea is one of the best things I have done for many years and a visit to Masada is a must. Cannot comment on the spa facilities as we did not have time to use these. The Egged bus from Eilat to Ein Bokek and the from there to Jerusalem works extremely well and is well priced.

Review 134:The Hotel's decor is somewhere stuck in the past. The shower is a 'Stand-Up' and strangely, there is only half a glass door, so matter how you shower, lots of water spill's over into the bathroom and the rooms hallway. And, if one looks carefully, needs fixing up in many areas. Elevators were very slow, especially on Friday-Saturday where the Shabbat elevator stops on every floor, up and down. Theres the 'Oasis Dead Sea' and then, there's the 'Spa Club Hotel' The two share some facilities but are VERY different. Seems that the Spa Club is more upscale and offers many more amenities. If I had known, for the relatively small price difference, I would have stayed there. The main issue that I had, was the lack of an ability to communicate with the Staff. English speaking staff were very few. Everything here seems to be geared towards Russian tourists, in all that this implies. It would also be nice if the Staff, not all, but the majority, would be a little more friendly and customer oriented. Would be nice to see a 'Smile' once in awhile. I wouldn't rate this Hotel much more than a 2-3 Star.

Review 135:My room was fine, clean and the bed was comfortable. Room is equipped with Flat screen T.V. kettle, refrigerator, safe. The Wifi was free and fast. Breakfast and dinner had much variety, though it didn't really change from day to day. But overall, was good and plentiful. The grounds and facilities are very nice, and well kept. Good indoor (Salt Water) and outdoor (Fresh Water) pools, the fitness facility is good enough for a nice workout. There's also steam rooms and jacuzzis, indoors and outside near the pool. The Hotel has its own Beach, across the main road, about 300 meters from the Hotel itself. Nice, clean with free loungers and chairs. Life-Guard on site. I did use the Spa facilities. I had a nice massage and seaweed treatment. A bit pricey, but a nice experience. Overall it was an OK stay, a bit pricey for what is was.

Review 136:Nothing really!

Review 137:The hotel was just what we wanted. Clean and comfortable bedroom. Pool and spa very nice. Plentiful breakfast and evening meal. Comfortable lounge and pleasant staff.

Review 138:The hotel is very dirty. It needs to be clean if you pay that amount of money. Food was not good quality. Most of the food was cold with a bad taste. Most of the staff doesn't understand English. I'll not going back to this kind of accommodation / service.

Review 139:Location and the beach was good. The bed was comfy but not very clean, the carpet was probably vacuum in the 1997.

Review 140:the heavily Jewish food that was all processed. Process, processed food in the heart of good food. no excuses. the staff that couldn't speak English the security guard that screamed at me at 7:00 am the lack of hospitality

Review 141:the restaurant manager

Review 142:It was too much noise from outside because of air conditioning installation. I could hardly fall a sleep and spent a bad night. Internet speed was very law.

Review 143:We liked dinner, food were tasty and fresh. The room was comfortable and design quite original. In general our impression of hotel is positive.

Review 144:maybe the room was just slightly on the small side

Review 145:the half board food that was included was excellent - really nice food. room was decent, as were the facilities, and wifi was also pretty good. staff were helpful and answered every question as well as they could

Review 146:You have to cross the road to get to the beach, however the hotel offers a free lift. The trainee at the reception was not a pleasant person to deal with, quite rude and VERY slow, it took us more than 35 mins to check in (just us 2 people)!!! In the end the queue got as long as in Disneyland... Not a competent person, and did not smile once. Quite dated/flimsy furniture in the room, some pieces were falling apart like the wardrobe handles. Carpet in the hallways need some serious cleaning.

Review 147:Good location. Very plesant staff. Great food (half board option). Indoor swimming pool with water from the Dead Sea and various types of sauna (hamam, steam room etc.) Overall, good impression.
