Reviews for Steppes Farm Cottages

Review 1:No bad experiences but we were aware of the people above us at times. T.V. had to be adjusted.

Review 2:Warm and comfortable - rustic decor sort of farmhouse feel to the cottage. Lovely double bed. towels provided. Owner pleasant and friendly.

Review 3:We had to pay for our own electricity and being an old cottage all we could hear were the people in the room above us walking around on creeky floor boards.

Review 4:Our cottage was very clean and the staff we're extremely helpful.

Review 5:Noisy family with young children next door. Could hear all they said as cottages only separated by conjoining doors. Will not come in school holidays in future.

Review 6:Cosy cottage had all we needed for a short break. Meal at restaurant was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Review 7:Wi-fi a bit patchy

Review 8:Ambience and character of the properties that are beautifuly maintained, lovely owners, friendly staff, top quality meal at The Stonemill. Location is fantastic for Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons walking. We're returned on many occasions and look forward to doing so again.

Review 9:Electricity meter, being charged for logs. Uncomfortable bed, matress old as the cottage and bed squeaked and creaked. For a relaxing break we had hardly any sleep due to the bed and traffic noise from the road from 7am

Review 10:Location is lovely, beautiful layout of cottages and grounds

Review 11:There were a lot of unexpected additional costs for example the pre-paid electricity. While it was self catering I did expect at least tea and coffee making facilities, which would have been a nice touch.

Review 12:The cottage was very neat and clean and had almost everything we needed. The location was good as it was in easy reach of many of the local attractions and the setting was great.

Review 13:After along day walking we were looking forward to a relaxing bath but were disappointed to find a lack of hot water and the electric meter seemed quite expensive

Review 14:The location and property were lovely. The bed and bedding was extremely comfortable, fresh and clean.

Review 15:The electricity meter was a bit of a nuisance but it does make you mindful of not wasting electricity.

Review 16:These cottages are beautiful in a pretty tranquil setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have never stayed in a cottage before, we have always stopped in a hotel or B and B so it was lovely to have all this space to ourselves. It was only a 5 mins trip by car into Monmouth so the location was great. We also thought they were good value for money. We wouldn't hesitate in going back .

Review 17:check out time is too early that we have to be rush to clean and tidy the house. Wifi is super poor coz the wifi is not in d room, u have to go to reception to use which is not convince.

Review 18:house decoration is good

Review 34:I didn't like having to pay extra for electricity.

Review 35:Peaceful setting

Review 36:A memorable place. A very lovely apple tree . The green and the fresh air, very refreshing.

Review 37:No oven gloves!

Review 38:Beautiful property in a lovely rural location.

Review 39:Absolutely nothing! Could not fault anything.

Review 40:The peace and tranquillity! Beautiful cottage in a beautiful area.

Review 41:Paying for electricity- whilst we were aware of this at time of booking, I think it is unnecessary and that the cost paid to stay in the cottage should be inclusive of electricity usage. The owner was also not very welcoming and there was a mix up with our booking which could easily have been avoided by the owners.

Review 42:Location & beautiful cottage

Review 43:Because of the thick stone walls it was understandable that wifi in the cottage wasn't great, but standing by the windows at the front of the cottage worked fine.

Review 44:Beautiful location. Comfy cottage accomodation. Laundry facilities. Great food at the adjoining restaraunt. The owners are lovely people who are friendly and willing to help in any way they can.

Review 45:Having to pay for the electric with a coin meter and having to purchase a basketof logs for £5, so we didnt bother.

Review 46:Beautiful cottage, in lovely surondings.

Review 47:Not particularly impressed by the restaurant on site but cannot fault the cottages

Review 48:The location - within easy reach of Monmouth by car. Had two cottages which had a connecting door which suited our needs perfectly.

Review 49:The fact that we were "kicked" out of the hotel at 10:30. They came to us saying unless we leave the hotel in the next 5 minutes, we will be charged for an extra day (didn`t have the option to pay for an extra hour). And they were rude when we left

Review 50:We loved the cottage, the rooms were good size, the décor was amazing (old style). And we just loved the fireplace. They had all the things you would need in the kitchen (not that we used the kitchen too much). We had a great time until the departure

Review 51:Beds weren't too comfortable. VERY squeaky bathroom door!

Review 52:Beautiful grounds and lovely cottage. Restaurant is excellent.

Review 53:No wifi - as I was in the area on business other wise wouldn't have mattered. Apart from from that a lovely location with very friendly owners

Review 54:Bed's not very comfy

Review 55:Cottage was very nice Easy to find, good parking

Review 56:The amount of dead flies on the furniture and window seals.

Review 57:location, the cottage was lovely and ideal for our family.

Review 58:Nothing!

Review 59:Stunning cottages, beautiful location and lovely welcoming hosts!

Review 60:shame about electric meter, only cost average £1.80 a day but should have been included..

Review 61:Great cottage, lovely decor, smart and clean.

Review 62:Cold & penny pinching

Review 63:Going home
