Review 1：Plakias can be windy not only in July/Aug, but also at the end of October... Regarding "seaview" of the villa, well, it's sea view from the terrasse on the upper floor.

Review 9：Plakias is lovely and far from the madding crowd. The main beach is big but can be quite windy. Damnoni beach just around the headland is a nicer beach, is more sheltered, and is about 5 mins by car. Plakias resort is lovely, and the accommodation is superb. The pools however are pretty chilly!

Review 14：The only criticism would be that the beds were pretty unforgiving which is fine if you like a firm bed but for those that don't they are a little uncomfortable - a doze on the sunbeds by the pool always straightened things out though!

Review 15：Fantastic resort - not too big, great pools (2, both kept very clean and surrounded by excellent sunbeds and umbrellas) and at the best end of a very long beach - sandy with a great beach bar literally across the road from Plakias Resorts. The wi-fi worked perfectly and we had a great 2 bedroom apartment with air con in every room (which was needed as it was in the 90s every day) which was large enough to hang out in when shade or a cool environment was needed for a little bit. The staff were all excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The whole place is kept immaculately clean and feels like a plush 5 star resort. Plakis itself was great - loads of excellent restaurants and plenty of shops to keep everyone interested without becoming tacky. No fast food outlets or English style pubs advertising breakfasts or Sunday lunches thankfully!

Review 16：We had a wonderful time at Plakias Resorts. The apartment and swimming pools were excellent, the staff were always extremely helpful. The resort has the quality of a boutique hotel with a family-friendly atmosphere.

Review 19：It was really windy the entire week of our stay. Hardly anything the resort can be blamed for however.. The temperatures in the pools (both the private pool and the pools for the whole resort) was a little to cold.

Review 20：We lived in a villa with pool. The villa was really nice and spacious. Beautifully decorated in light colours. The resort is beautifully made up of flowers and bushes and gives a welcoming and fresh experience. The staff is really friendly. The area is really quiet without nightly noise.

Review 23：This is a tricky review because overall, the hotel is good, but there were too many niggles for ‘luxury’ accommodation: • No safe (see review below) but this was ordered and fitted within a few days , maybe because we insisted in putting our things in the hotel safe each day • Bathroom door wouldn’t lock • No hooks, including for the shower head • No decent mirror • Out of all the satellite and cable channels, we could only access news channels • Wifi intermittent • No phone • Small towels and no bathrobes • Toiletries not replenished • Lots of electrical sockets but halfway up the walls (none in the bathroom) and in most cases, there was nowhere to place charging items • No curtain at kitchen door. I think that this is a classic case that no one from the hotel has stayed in the room or all this would have been picked up quickly. We also had issues with the service. The room was not ready even though they acknowledged my email notifying them of our arrival time. When the water was cut off from at least 9:45 one evening until mid-afternoon the next day, we were told that it was not just the hotel but all of Plakias, but this was not true. Also we were quoted €110 or a taxi to Chania airport when the going rate is €90.

Review 24：The room is modern and spacious. The kitchen area is well-equipped and there are balconies on both sides. The complex itself is lovely and quiet, just across the road from the beach and about a 1km walk to tavernas and shops.

Review 26：Very nice property. Nicely equipped full kitchen. Air conditioning was superb. Large terrace, good pools with comfy sun beds. Sandy beach with view to the mountains is just across the road. Two beach bars and lovely tavern is just near by. Short walk to the town centrum where is plenty of restaurants, souvenir shops and supermarkets.

Review 31：The only slightly minor issue was location around the bay from Plakias. It would have been nice to be nearer the town centre in the evenings with 4 little children. It was about a 20 minute walk with 4 children under 6 years- this would be much quicker without the kids of course!

Review 40：The complex does not open to the beach which is separated by the road (with very little traffic) so there are no views of the ocean once you are inside the complex. Also, the immediate surroundings of the complex are not that inviting but all changes once you enter.

The town of Plakias, its authentic surroundings as well as its beach are fantastic, a far cry from the package tourism hell of the North Coast.

Although we had problem et check out - despite the fact I told them we need to check-out very early the night reception staf had no clue (did not understand very good english) and had not the receipt ready. Review 48：For us the Plakias resort was a great choice since it was near a less populated part of the beach while being a 10 minute walk to the center of the village. We had 2- 2 bedroom apartments. Our apartments were very nice, clean, well outfitted kitchen, 2 terraces. The furnishings are basic, but comfortable. They receive you very nicely with a refreshment when you ariive and fruits and wine in the room. THe hotel supplies very good beach towels for a deposit. The bathroom even had a great hairdryer. The staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds are clean and the place was quiet. I would return there.

Review 49：If you will choose studio for 2 people don't expect balcony and taras with the view. We received taras next to the street but with nice goats neighbourhood :) They told us that studios are only that kind.

Review 54：The shower was over the bath but there wasn't a hook to place the shower head on so you had to hold it. Nothing major but I have very long hair and with sea salt it needed washing every evening. No big deal but would have been easier. Again, not a major big deal but the beds weren't overly comfortable. Review 55：We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which had a proper double bed and two singles for the children. Plenty of storage for clothes etc. A nice table and chairs on the patio with a few steps straight to the swimming pool - we could sit and have an evening drink and watch the children. A well equipped kitchen with all you need. However, we only stayed in one night as the restaurants and bars in Plakias were excellent. Only a five to ten minute walk and you have a choice of over 20 restaurants. We tried lots and enjoyed the food and found it to be not too expensive. The staff at the complex were REALLY helpful. Nothing too much trouble. They printed my Ryan Air return boarding passes for me, no cost. Gave advice on other local beaches; were happy to recommend restaurants. You can get beach towels from reception. A 10 Euro deposit required per towel and then you can get a fresh one every day. I wish I'd known this before we travelled as I wouldn't have packed four heavy beach towels. We ended up using theirs as ours were a bit grubby after a few days. A great service which they should tell you about on the booking details. Loved Plakias itself. Enough shops to keep the children happy with presents for home but lovely and unspoilt. We took a day trip to Rethymnon. Took us about an hour to get there. Lovely shops, restaurants and a pretty harbour but the beaches looked awful - really packed and very "managed". We had a morning and lunch and then headed back to the beaches near Plakias. Thank you Plakias Resort for a great holiday x

Review 104：There were some minor things, which I just would like to point out, butit was nothing serious: The villa is nice and spacious, but the twobedroom were upstairs and the stairs were really very steep with nohandles (and becouse of that there was open space above the kitchen sobig a kid can fall down), so it was very dangerous for our adventours19months baby. Therefore we have to stay downstairs becouse of that. Iwould recomend this villa for people with older kids who are able toclimb the stairs safely. The other thing was, that despite the fact, onthis site it was written that we will get soaps and shampoon etc. we gotnon this year. When I asked I got some, but it was explained to me thatthey have problems with the company who suplies them. Anyway, I thinkthey should stop advertising that. Last year we also got slippers andbathrobe, and despite the fact it is still advertised, it was notavailable.

Review 105：We rented a 3 bedroom villa for four adults and baby. It was our secondstay in this resort. Compared to last year, the staff was as friendlyand helpfull as last year, the pool was clean (but bit cold as well) andevery bedroom got its own bathroom and one extra toilet, which wasreally good. The kitchen is fully equiped and each room got its own ac.All after all, the premises looks as good as on the photographs. Despitethe fact, that this resort offers only breakfasts (paid extra), next tothis resort is a great taverna with extension to the beach (bar), so youcan enjoy the best local food just few steps from the hotel. The sea isjust across the street and the beach is sandy and nice. They borrow youalso beach towells (for free, just 10Eur deposit) and you can changethem everyday and provide very nice and new baby cot.

Review 108：The wi fi works only around the reception There is only 2 bathrooms in the 3 bedrooms villa with pool which is not enough but the other villa has 3 shower rooms It would be convenient to provide the basics , salt, pepper, olive oil and some tablets for the dishwasher Plakias is very windy which will keep you cool in summer but sometimes prevent beach access.

Review 109：We rented a villa with private pool and a one bedroom appartement for a very reasonnable price and were blown out on seing the general premises and especially the villa . Everything is in mint condition as showing in the pictures on the website . The furniture is elegant and the beds are very comfortable. There are lots of plates and cuttlery (ikea style) and plenty of appliances including electric juicer for oranges, toater for grilled sandwiches , dishwasher , iron and ironing board, oven , microwave … Cleaning happens daily with a daily change of towels , bedsheets are changed every other day. We received a very warm welcome with a choice of beverages and a bottle of water and a boothe of wine in the villa . I complained to the management that the one bedroom appartement was far from the villa , and they offered to let us use a vacant villa which was much closer at no extra charge for 2 nights out of the 4 . They also provided excellent recommendations for restaurants . The clothes deposited at reception are laundered for free but returned wet . There is an ATM in Plakias outside of the hotel closest to the supermarket . The supermarket stocks ice cubes in the frozen section which is handy if you want to make your own drinks . The closest tavern has an extension on the beach which is nice for drinks and coffee The view of the sea just across the road is stunning and the beach is very pleasant .

Review 112：*hotel refused to accept visa (Visa machine out of order the whole week, "only cash possible". As we had to pay a big house (8pers) we refused to pay the 1197Euro cash, especially as we had read this Visa problem with this hotel already in other comments of booking.com. Finally we didn't pay cash. *Plakias is really extremely windy , almost impossible to go to the beach due to 7Beaufort wind !

This was mostly due to the fact that our apartment was beautiful..cleaned every day with fresh towels, bed and bedroom were beautiful. Very comfortable. I could easily live here all year round. The pool area is lovely...nicely sheltered (from the wind that can build in Plakias). But what really made our holiday there was the staff..amazing people. So helpful and friendly. We wouldn't have found the secret little beaches without they're help. Definitely go back there.

Review 117：This is a set of apartments clustered around the pools hence it has few hotel facilities. Very windy so hard to use the beach at times. The town is good but it is a ten\fifteen minute walk away.

Review 119：Plakias Resorts is an apartment at the eastern end of Plakias Beach. The apartments are brand new, well equipped and ours at least was spacious. Two decent swimming pools in the middle top of the complex. Plakias Beach is in front and the centre of Plakias a short drive or 10 minute walk away. A (rental) car is therefore recommended, especially if you want to explore other beaches in the neighborhood.

Review 120：Cold water due to sun boilers, Shower hook was broken, you can hear the neighbors, especially when they shout at their kids :-)... Workers where fixing an apartment upstairs during the day, but mostly you're out so you don't mind that much.

Review 121：Clean, Nice pools, Friendly service, nice location, Near to the beach... Small Supermarket at 1km. Every apartment has its own decoration and furniture, ours was a bit weird with heavy chairs.. but we didn't mind.

Review 123：Very affordable, luxurious, well designed apartments, fully equipped : in the kitchen... huge fridge (half of it is a deep freezer), oven, grill, iron, electric orange squeezer, etc. In the living room also (40 " TV set with over 150 channels), terrace with arbour, air conditioning in each room and in the living room, nice bathroom. Although we were only spending two nights, we received "welcome gifts" (water, fruits basket, a bottle of white Cretan wine, lots of amenities like in 5-star resorts on the Pacific Coast :-)... The personnel welcomes you and is very helpful. We appreciated also the very nice "swimming pool area " with deckchairs under the shadow of beautiful trees (well, for those who were interested in improving their tan, it was feasible, at a few meters from us :-))

Review 124：You could not get wifi in the rooms like they promised you had to go outto the front terrace near the pool area to get the internet.

Review 125：The resort was brand new and really nice big clean rooms. We were on thebottom floor so we had two big terraces one towards the pool and onethat looked out to the mountains/ocean. The Plakias Beach is a bigsandy beach with clear water great for swimming we looked at a few otherbeaches nearby but we thought the beach right in front of the hotel wasby far the best around.

Review 126：No privacy curtains in bedrooms. We used a bedspread to cover the sliding-glass door in the master bedroom until we discovered we could use thestorm shutters instead. Two light fixtures not (yet?) installed withwires extending out of the walls. Stove had to be turned on at breakerbox by manager but then worked well. No view of beach but nice view ofrock hill nearby.

Review 127：Large resort hotel with approximately 50+ rooms but only a few wereoccupied. Our room was actually a 2-bedroom/1-bath apartment with alarge open kitchen-family room combination and a patio with view ofmountains. Everything worked. Nice bathroom. Large, comfortable bed.Great value. Staff very nice and anxious to please.Of Interest: The hotel offered launder our clothes but we were very surprised when they delivered back to us a bag of wet clothes. We had to dry them outdoors on the racks provided. Probably some kind of communications problem or a difference in cultural expectations.
