Reviews for The Water Garden Hotel
Review 1:If you're after a lovely quiet spot closer to traditional Bali and away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta, Seminyak and Sanur, then this would suit your stay on the island. Very close to a lovely traditional village, Tenganan, water palaces etc, there is much to do and see with all types of eating places including the Watergarden itself. Great feng shui with water flowing and lush gardens all around the property. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Loved our stay, the only issue was that it was too short!!
Review 2:Poor WiFi in our accommodation but otherwise okay in lobby and restaurant. No complaints about anything else.
Review 3:The location of the hotel was central within Candi Dasa. Staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The accommodation was excellent and provided value for money.
Review 4:wifi in the room was poor, bathroom would need a touch up
Review 5:wonderful tropical garden, nice quiet terrace with beautiful view surrounded by fish ponds, excellent cuisine
Review 6:My wife and I stayed at The Water Garden Hotel for 3 nights July 22-242015. Overall, we did not have a good overall experience there.1) They claim to have wi fi but it was the worst we have ever experienced in any hotel anywhere in the world. Connection was either impossible to get or went on and off even during a simple short e-mail. There is NO EXCUSE for this as the The Temple Cafe and Le Zat restaurants just across the road have good wi fi connections. The Watergarden cannot also claim that the wi fi gets clogged up with many guests using it at the same time because I tried at 5.40am this morning to get a connection and gave up after 10 minutes. The hotel must lose lots of money in its restaurant because of this wi fi problem as we ate at Temple Cafe 1 night and Le Zat 2 nights just to also get wi fi. 2) We broke a small porcelain conditioner container and this morning the female clerk charged us 120,000IDR for it (about US$10.00). This was both unnecessary (good hotels accept these little breakages) and much much more than the item was worth! 3) The fruit juices which I had at breakfast (orange) and at the pool (strawberry) were both watered down. 4) Since you cannot drink the local water, both the previous hotels we have stayed in have provided free-of-charge bottled mineral water for drinking and brushing teeth. At the Water Garden Hotel, we had to pay for this from the mini bar. It was very cheap, of course, so why make the guests pay for it? Once again, it shows the money-grabbing attitude of the hotel.
Review 7:The room was nice, staff excellent as usual in Bali and pool arealovely.
Review 8:The Wi-fi in my room was very poor, there were ants in my bathroom and outdated, definitely needed an upgrade.
Review 9:Great Location, staff was friendly and the breakfast was great!!
Review 10:Nothing.
Review 11:Ageing, but very beautiful with a glorious use of water for the ponds, always a calming and gracious presence. Rooms delightful with the beautiful decorations and facilities. Candidasa is relatively quiet but has wonderful restaurants. Close to natural delights.
Review 12:The hotel and restaurant need a makeover especially the roofs. Leaking roof in suite's bedroom and bathroom. Hated the drapes in the bedroom. Very unBalinese.
Review 13:Staff was very good as was the food. The setting of the rooms is magical. The suite's setting not so.
Review 14:My only bad point is that the bungalow i stayed in had literally not changed at all in 5 years. The manager explained that they are upgrading the bungalows one by one. Look forward to some changes when i stay again one day.
Review 15:Very friendly staff made our stay pleasant. Food was lovely. Bungalows kept very clean. Within short walk distance to beach, shops, atm's, other restaurants (though no need to eat anywhere other than watergarden in my opinion).
Review 16:Wifi could be better. It is available in rooms and pool areas which is great but Sometimes it worked well and other times very slow or down .
Review 17:beaurtiful surroundings. Staff is the best. All very friendly. We ate at a few places outside of hotel but always ended up back at hotel resturant . Very good food and fairly priced. Exchange rate at hotel may be a bit lower than on the street but it is more secure. Would definately be coming back to this hotel.
Review 18:The WiFi was a bit slow...
Review 19:We have visited the Water Garden hotel 9 years ago, and the place is even more beautiful than we remembered. Nice room, but the point is the terrace, where you can relax watching the pond with fishes and enjoying the odors of lotus flowers. The staff was helpful and friendly. We recommend this hotel warmly!
Review 20:Restocking room not routinely done so needed daily reminder of required items. Deluxe villa site specifically requested and paid for many months in advance not provided.
Review 21:wonderful setting of villas with verandas over the koi ponds. lovely breakfast/dining area- again unique with large koi pond. tropical gardens separating and keeping individual villas private. lovely large room with nice en suite
Review 22:Nothing, we loved our stay here.
Review 23:We loved the room, the secluded space on the veranda surrounded by water and beautiful gardens. The restaurant's food was fantastic. The menu had a good mix of Balinese and western food which we really appreciated and enjoyed. We couldn't fault the food, which is why we ate there every day and that lime tart ! best we have ever had... The staff were very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to provide excellent service. Couldn't fault our stay really, loved having room service breakfast, walking distance to the shops, quiet pool area where we stayed all day ! One of the most relaxing holiday's we have ever had, definitely be back when we can.
Review 24:Spa was poor, bad training with staff of little knowledge how to do a the work required. Still didn't get our value after receiving 50% discount. Really shouldn't have paid spa bill at all. Hot water in room 3 had low volume.
Review 25:Excellent room 3. Loved the fishpond. Restaurant good with friendly staff in whole hotel.
Review 26:Noisy at night with dogs fighting, roosters crowing then a rat rummaging through the bin in the room at night. Curtains missing from a couple of windows.
Review 27:Good water garden straight outside the room. Very pretty
Review 28:Wifi was patchy, but otherwise great

Review 38:Having to come home
Review 39:Beautiful setting. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food,
Review 40:Below average bathroom, humidity caused by surrounding water gardens.
Review 41:Spa, restaurant.
Review 42:Not a dislike but a hint: the bungalows are partly open, which makes you feel very close to nature but also allows all of nature's sounds to be heard - just keep in mind to maybe bring ear plugs ;)
Review 43:Water garden hotel is a little paradise. Located centrally in Candidasa in Bali's east, this place is an amazing hideaway. Each bungalow has an own fish pond right in front of the personal front porch. The bathroom was by far the cleanest and newest we enjoyed when travelling Bali. Nearby taxi services allow to explore the area (Floating Palace, Besakih Temple).
Review 44:Nothing not to like. Shower in kamar needed an upgrade but worked ok.
Review 45:Peaceful & quiet. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely tropical garden, nice pool. Great relaxing holiday. No noisy children or guests.
Review 46:Put simply, it's a charming hotel but the charm is fading. The furniture and some of the furnishing looked tired and most places could do with a lick of paint. The attention to detail could be improved, in order to enhance the value for money.
Review 47:The rooms were spacious, we had the two-bedroom suite with a private pool. The hotel pool was very nice and the people were charming.
Review 48:no tv avail. money taken from a/c 2 months before stay and chgd 3/% fee. we prefer to pay in rphs when we arrive. too quiet for us. no shuttle sce offered to/from airport
Review 49:This is a gorgeous hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. A fantastic place to stay.
