Reviews for Fateh Prakash Palace - Grand Heritage

Review 1:Taxes very high and not visible enough; all prices shown are net with no indication that taxes are 20-25%! Misleading and unhelpful

Review 2:Balcony with view over the lake. Comfort of room.

Review 3:Didn't like the fact that our room, though very attractive, was not as functional as most hotel rooms. There was a shared sitting room between our room and another room which had nice seating with a great view and a desk but it was shared so not private. Also, the patio with the architectural details that I saw online when i booked were not accessible.

Review 4:Liked the location and the view of Lake Pichola.

Review 5:Not enough for the price. Small room, and basic facilities not consistent with the price.

Review 6:A nice place but overpriced for the facilities available. Wifi was excellent.

Review 7:Total rip off. I have travelled all over the world and stayed in many 5 star hotels, this was nothing like any of them. This hotel was more akin to a £35.00 a night B&B in Blackpool, yet they charged me £250.00 a night! I couldn't believe the poor standard of this hotel for this exorbitant price. What are the hotel owners thinking?

Review 8:Nothing......

Review 9:the staff at reception were not too cordial. the artificial attitude and greeting was visible. the breakfast menu was very common and no change. No good real Indian selection

Review 10:the room was nice. Nice and clean etc

Review 11:Do not like at all to be given the only few non renovated room in an almost empty hotel when it would have been straitforward for a pro staff to have without saying those rooms. When you pay the amount of money required for such a hotel you ask for the top best !! And not to be treated like you do not desserve for the best. For this categaory of hotel I should have a wonderful stay and it was not at all. The night after in another hotel similar view was great and 5 time less !

Review 12:Very nice view on the lake palace.

Review 13:First night allocated last room on lowest floor which was dirty, smelly and noisy, having been assured it was an excellent room. Gave management feedback which resulted in much appreciated upgrade.

Review 14:Upgrade from a bad room to a lovely room.

Review 15:The water was leaking rather the floor of washroom was flooded with water. Very expensive in comparison to room size n experience. They assured lot of things before booking but after a non refundable booking nobody bothered to even listen to any problem. My sons birthday was spoiled.they had a no for every request or any issue raised

Review 16:We were kept awake whole night as there was construction crew doing work all night. Not only working but also shouting some sort of motivational cry all night. We pay over 300 USD per night including meals and we expect some decent sleep. As a 5 star hotel .....It shows a total disregard for customers happiness. Focus is only on the money. If they were going to make noise all night then they should have shut the hotel. I can understand some construction during the day but all night ??????

Review 17:The Staff was very good The View is good

Review 18:Wi-fi...troublesome. A bit limited on choice of restaurants;but whatever is available is good for a day or two.

Review 19:Beautiful location and lovely view of the Aravalli range. It's almost like you are transferred into another zone.

Review 20:All the seats/cushions were dirty, faded. The bathroom: you cannot take a shower without flooding the floor. Towels are grey instead of white. The desk staff is totally incompetent and we were asked to pay the full stay upon arrival (never seen that before at this level) and they made a mistake so it was an inelegant mess when we leaved. The restaurant is way over priced for the food they served.

Review 21:The view of course and the spacious room. The room service was excellent: fast and courteous.

Review 22:other support staff needs training and up-gradation, to give the guest the absolute & complete palace & kingsly experience. Signages in and around the hotel could be better.

Review 23:Restaurant staff was very good.

Review 24:Poor wifi connectivity, had to constantly take wifi cards every 24 hours. Average taste of breakfast. No discounted ticket rates for hotel guests.

Review 25:Location, its probably best in the city. Extremely helpful staff. Prompt travel desk response.

Review 26:If you were frail...there were only stairs to access the rooms (no lifts). This did not bother us but the access may impact on someone elderly.

Review 27:Absolutely everything! Was amazing. Pay a little extra and stay in one of the suites.....we had room 609 and it was amazing.... Probably the best suite view of all of them looking straight onto the lake directly opposite the water palace. Enormous room with very opulent fittings & decor.

Review 28:The attitude of the security staff when we raised a security concern wid them about an eve teasin incident that happened right outside their palace gate

Review 29:We loved da beautiful palace hotel, the staffs' attentiveness, the cleanliness, the breakfast, the many things to do and(the breath takin view from the room) see in da palace hotel... I wud absolutely recommend this place to anyone who appreciates beauty, luxury, history, culture n excellent customer service

Review 30:・LOCATION : next to city palace! ・WIFI : internet was available without any interruptions ・Breakfast : they brought me it to my room 出発が早かったため、フロントにお願いをしたら朝5時半にリクエスト通りのものを準備してくれました。 インドでこの程度の贅沢をしても、高が知れているのでおススメです。

Review 31:Food is Overpriced, almost the price of Jagmandir Rest in center of Lake. Swimming pool is far away in another sister hotel.

Review 32:Nice view from room looking straight at Lake Palace.

Review 33:Nothing....

Review 34:Amazing Location, Everything is just nearby, Very good View, Very Helpful and personalized staff. Reetika & Narender on front desk upgraded us to next category, and Narender went out of the way to book a anniversary table for us in the best restaurants of Udaipur. Simply Awesome experience.

Review 35:Spa didn't work in the bathroom. As the hotel is inside the city palace, you have to show your pass everywhere. There are many tourists during the day, that's why I don't recommand the restaurant for lunch, because it is too noisy, and the waiter ignores you. Service is waayyy much better in Mauritius for the same price.

Review 36:We had a luxury suite with an excellent view on the lake. The bed was good, the room was big, wifi was fast. Restaurant excellent for dinner.

Review 37:Unhelpful desk and hotel managers who avoid confrontational discussions, blaming everyone else. Breakfast Overpriced at $330 and no breakfast included.watch when confirmation is printed as hotel changes info from original booking

Review 38:View Location Ambience

Review 39:We had sent request for very special event we were going to celebrate. Hotel manager was very kind and went out of his way to upgrade us to best suite (604) with cake, flowers and wine bottle. Thank you for that. Room and view was just outstanding. We think this is the best room location in Udaipur. We were thoroughly impressed with the palace and its maintenance. Food was great along with both the restaurants. Bar interiors are something to treasure. The place truly gives a completely unique and memorable experience.

Review 40:Beware the 40 % Indian tax- it diminishes the value Staff is a little stiff Internet use not as seem less as one would hope

Review 41:The style of rooms Ambience-historical and elegant Great Lake views

Review 42:Very special place due to the view, service and atmosphere. Nobody in the bars after 10 pm :(, breakfast buffet not too special, preferred the room service option. We stayed in a dovecote suite, perfect for a family of 4. In the palace area, you are isolated from the city and font feel the rush and buzz of most Indian cities.

Review 43:Price for room is a bit too high but it was really worth the money!

Review 44:Everything great, hotel is in Palace complex territory, very quite and peacefull, clean place, Terrace bar is wonderfull, you can die for this view, it's unbelievable! In evening you can go to watch light show in palace complex next to hotel. Show was too long with too much speech (it was story of city history within 60 min light show) but lights in/on building was great and atmosphere really enjoyable; Breakfest on the terrace in the morning was wonderfull!

Review 45:The palace complex in particular the Shiv Niwas section could do with a bit of a spruce up - it's not really living up to its hey day. It was a bit quiet when we were there so lacked a bit in atmosphere but we were there in October so not quite high season yet. Sometimes we also felt we didn't know when staff were telling us the truth like when it came to prices for taxis or when we asked if it was feasible to book dinner in the Taj Lake Palace. We felt they were trying to make more money out of us themselves rather than helping, but I guess it's just their way!

Review 46:It is a lovely palace and the staff are really nice. This is actually part of the Palace complex itself rather than the hotel just calling itself a palace. We had a lovely Dovecote suite room, upgraded from the Dovecote room and couldn't complain about the quality of the room at all. The staff also treated you like royalty. As its part of the palace complex and there is the Shiv Niwas palace hotel which is part of the same complex and which is where the pool, another bar and spa etc are, these are a bit of a walk from the rooms we stayed in which was fine for us but might be a bit far for older guests. The sunset terrace bar is lovely to watch the sunset over lake pichola, but as it's a 5 star hotel you pay the price. I'd recommend eating in town, there are lots of lovely very tasty restaurants serving great vegetarian Indian food, but do have at least a drink in the bar. We watched Octopussy in town one night and were surprised to see how much was actually filmed in the palace! For a splurge / treat night try the Jag Mandir palace, which the hotel can organise for you. Overall the palace was a great stay and I'd recommend it as a place in Udaipur.

Review 54:Amazing location. Fantastic staff. Beautiful room.

Review 55:Room facility a little bit old

Review 56:Location very good, nice staff and service. Sunset terrace restaurant is terrific

Review 57:Old hair dryers. Lack of attention to detail with cleanliness. Lack of professionalism at reception. All three restaurants had same menu, variety is required when staying for 3 days.

Review 58:Furnishings and decor

Review 59:Car Parking was not proper.

Review 60:Typical theme of king's darbar, like we are staying in Raj-Mahal, And the 2 dogs ZARA & PHANTOM.

Review 61:Staff were very attentive to their guests needs , location was just perfect .

Review 62:Service for the price is below average Also no good option for food and ridiculously priced
