Review 1：Disappointing that my card had been debited before arrival - I had intended to pay cash, and that Restaurant was not serving any evening meal - nothing on web site to suggest the Restaurant was seasonal.

Great location, right on the beach, lovely swimming pool - amazing views across the bay, fantastic breakfast each morning with a wide selection of choices, enjoyed on a beautiful terrace. The room appeared to have been recently renovated - good furnishings, very comfortable bed and lovely big clean and newish bathroom. The staff were all both friendly and efficient. We loved this hotel so much that we extended our 3 night stay to 7 nights. We would highly recommend Messinian Bay Hotel and are so happy we chose this lovely hotel for our stay in Kalamata. You do need a car however as it's outside Kalamata proper but that for us added to the beauty of this hotel. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making this an amazing hotel to stay at, enhancing our Greek holiday experience. Whenever we are lucky enough to come to Greece again, we will return to this lovely region and to the wonderful Messinian Bay Hotel!

Review 9：Worst service I have experienced. We would have to look for the waitress who was too busy talking to her boyfriend, and then she asked if the can charge our drinks to our room because she was to lazy to go get us change. We went for food...we were sitting for 7-10 minutes and finally somebody came over and asked if we had already ordered although we were clearly sitting at an empty table and hadn't even looked at menus. My husband ordered a beer that he never got. My brother came and got a room since we were staying there and decided he wanted another night and got attitude from the guy at the front desk because he didn't ask for 2 nights when he first checked in instead of being happy he wanted to give more money for an extra night at their hotel. When we were checking out we told all our complaints at the front desk and they were like what can we do? I said so many people are looking for jobs and the people you have obviously don't appreciate theirs...you can easily find someone who will gladly do a better job and appreciate that they even have a job in the Greece's crisis. His response? It's not that easy. I beg to differ. I know plenty of people who would love to work there and do a great job!

Review 13：Very, very, very bad wi-fi:( it was impossible to connect especially in the evening. If you travel without car the only way to go to town is to call a taxi, there is no buses. Enter to the sea is very difficult- big stones and without slippers it's barely possible.

Review 14：Hotel is ok- all chambers have beautiful view, personnel is polite and ready to help, breakfast is not big but there was some variety. Beach is not big and full of stones BUT in comparison with sand ones it's easier to be there even if it's very hot.

Review 20：Hotel beach is tiny, with sliippery stones, but within 200 meters there is a village beach, more comfortable . I would recommend the hotel to make a sort of small wooden bridge or something to make entrance easier for swimmming

Review 22：The only negatives was that there was only one other couple there until the weekend. Staff was very limited and no food was served at lunchtimes or evening until the weekend. We felt a bit unimportant. Obviously not the month to go.

Review 23：The hotel is gorgeous! A bit off the beaten track but only costs 10 euros in a taxi to get to town (including tip). Only 20 euros from airport. If you want a really relaxing holiday with no noise then this is the hotel for you.

Review 24：On checking out after a one night stay we were told that we had a drinks bill from the previous evening , which we had not had , not willing to take our word the receptionist phoned another member of staff who still said we had had the drinks , finally without any evidence on their part they conceded . This made us feel very uncomfortable .

Review 25：Glad we arrived before the coach from Grenoble - it seemed to take them ages to check them all in. The breakfast service suffered the next day as a result of large groups - we arrived to every table still cluttered with breakfast things, some items not topped up and too few staff to cope and those that were there seemed to work only in slow motion.

Review 33：I was pleased with the service I got from the recpetionist. As i was a walk in guest he provide me with the best room he could answered all my questions and made my stay pleasant. Room was perfect,with view in the golf of Kalamata. Great double bed,nice colours and lighting in the room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast and very good wifi, As i will visit again Kalamata soon I will prefer to stay there again.

Review 34：Location. 5km from town and very poor bus service. No food except breakfast at hotel and only one dining place close by. Wifi an absolute disaster, forced us to move out. This was a working holiday stop and our booking clearly indicated wifi in room was essential. Making that a specific was good in regard to claim back for us. Disappointing that management knew of long standing problem and did not advise booking agents as required. Breakfast - oh dear - American breakfast bacon, poached eggs, sausages obviously cooked at 7am and served at 9.30 stone cold. Plastic eggs. A disgrace. Broken chairs on balcony could only use them with bath towel laid over to sit on. With room serviced on a daily basis obviously no feed back regarding these things. Peaking over at other balconys clearly obvious chairs a problem there to. Bottom line; had to leave - if property is going to remain open after main season then it should be professionial in all aspects of hospitality. If you choose to stay here check everything you require is going to be provided.

Review 37：I would need more room in the bathroom and I believe that wooden decks by the sea would make easier the access to the sea. The beach has rocks which makes it difficult to enter. The sea itself was very clear, however.

Review 42：A balcony overlooking the ocean (you could throw a stone in it) and great views. Located away from the hustle & bustle of the main beachfront the evenings were quiet & peaceful. Breakfast included in the room rate was great value, although basic, there was plenty of what they had to offer. Room had a double & bunk bed for the kids, was tight without being cramped.

Review 44：The beach is just 40 meters away and has free sunbeds and umbrellas. The beach itself is fantastic - with ultra clear water. The restaurant is good. Virtually all rooms are with a view on the sea and Kalamata.

Review 45：I hated the fact that our room stunk of cigarette smoke becuase the people next door were smioking 24 hours a day. I found it discusting that i would open my door and our entire room stunk including our clothes hanging in the closet. It was horrible and i did discuss it with the front desk who didnt really do much about it. I would recommend smoking and non smoking rooms and sections especially for people with children, like myself.

There is no sign anywhere to notify parents holding infants that there is a SUDDEN drop off into the deep area of the pool.. Very real safety threat drowning potential !!!!

Review 118：That was the worst hotel we ever stayed at. The triple room was very small we kept tripping on the furniture. The bathroom was so tiny that we had to jump over the toilet to get into he shower. The bathroom door lock was faulty and my husband got locked in the bathroom by simply closing the bathroom door. We couldn't open the door either from inside or outside. Our room had a small balcony with 2 broken chairs. I don't know about the rest of the hotel but our room certainly hasn't been renovated for decades. The carpet was very dirty. The pictures on your site are very deceiving and you can compare them with the ones I took during our stay. No WiFi connection never worked. Food bad and expensive.

Located on the coasts main road with nonexisting sidewalk, not easy to walk anywhere. Only one taverna close by (nice though). Car is necessary to explore the surroundings!
