Reviews for Sneem Hotel
Review 1:The only thing this hotel is missing is a leasure centre. Or even treatment rooms. We got over this by visiting a local hotel. But this would not stop me going back to Sneem hotel, because everything else was perfect.
Review 2:I loved this hotel because it is modern and very stylish. The rooms are large and very well appointed . The location is a stroll into Sneem town. Where you have plenty to see and do. The staff are extremely froendly.
Review 3:The gym is the only area that lets the hotel down, they should either do it up or close it down.
Review 4:The staff were great, the room were very spacious and clean, the evening meal was amazing and the village itself was fab
Review 5:I expected the bar to be nicer and more comfortable. The bar menu was small. When we arrived we got a round of drinks which cost €9.50, 2 hours later the same round cost €10.50. We left and went to village for dinner and drinks in the end.
Review 6:The receptionist were great so helpful I think Geraldine was her name. Room was spacious and clean. The view was gorgeous and the lobby was very cosy.
Review 7:Add more fruit options to the breakfast buffet. If this hotel had a swimming pool it would be absolutely perfect
Review 8:Staff were very friendly, very clean rooms and good food.
Review 9:I love everything about this place. Always have. It's just amazing so peaceful and relaxing. They have a dog too which I absolutely adore. The staff are so nice here they will do anything for you and we had great chat with all the staff. We had the deluxe room which unfortunately due to weather we could not sit out on but it was amazing the views.
Review 10:Everything was wonderful. Friendly, efficient, helpful staff. Amazing food and great rooms. Hurricane Clodagh was raging outside but we didn't care. The open fire, friendly staff and general ambiance of Sneem Hotel made up for the bad weather. We really love this hotel.
Review 11:Nice big public areas to relax, one of the biggest breakfast rooms i seen in any hotel, and reception staff were very informative on the surrounding amenities.
Review 12:Room was just above outside air con units and there was a 'whir and Thud' all night long which was not restful at all.
Review 13:Excellent breakfast with lots of choice in a lovely setting, red the dog is just beautiful!
Review 14:The location is fantastic,we had a room facing the sea which was large and had the most comfortable bed ever.Breakfact was buffet style with a huge selection, something for everyone.Staff were very friendly and we would definitely return.

Review 16:I loved the setting as it's surrounds and gardens were so private and tucked away picturesque. The Hotel itself had a lovely all round ambience about it last but most Important! the clenleness was superb.?
Review 17:Its not really a negative, but we were slightly disappointed that there is no entertainment/live music in the hotel bar.
Review 18:Sneem Hotel is absoutely Gorgeous. Rooms with a view do not disappoint. Very Stunning. Although Sneem does not have a beach, there is plenty of beaches and magnficant viewing points very close by. The ring of kerry drive is fab. Was great to spend a day travelling around and come back to the relaxed atmosphere and enjoy a tasty meal. Food is delicious.

Review 23:Food was not up to scratch. When I complained in a courteous manner. I was treated badly by a male staff member. He subsequently apologised on both of my complaints, but the situation could have been avoided, had he checked my issues before engaging aggressively with me. For the remainder of our stay we ate elsewhere.

Review 35:We have been travelling to The sneem hotel for about 7 yrs!, We love that area in Kerry and have always found our stay in your hotel. special. The staff principally the reason for that!
Review 36:There was a noisy generator running at night at one end of the building. We had to get our room changed for the second night but the reception staff were excellent in accommodating this for us.
Review 37:Well set back from the main road. Spacious patio area to rear with stunning view. Staff were excellent in particular reception staff. Bright modern hotel and not too warm unlike most hotels.

Review 40:Wonderful spacious clean room which despite the hotel being busy, was quiet Staff very pleasant and helpful Easy safe walk into village Wonderful views
Review 41:We didn't have a bad experience but missed accessibility to satisfactory public transport on one of the days having to leave our car into the garage for a day!
Review 42:Room comfort Cleanliness Friendly and helpful staff Good food General atmosphere

Review 46:Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. Reception staff were welcoming. Rooms were super. Right at the edge of the village which was very nice indeed.
Review 47:Noisy hotel fans can be heard from some distance & spoil the perfect peace of the Sneem Bay - not really relevant for this review, the hotel manager really needs to know
Review 48:Beautiful location, great kyak tour, good food, free bikes great
Review 49:Breakfast was disappointing. Mass produced so that eggs are hard and bacon tough. Other choices minimal and not very interesting.
Review 50:Lovely large room which was quiet. Beautiful location next to the water and near to the village. Good for touring the Ring of Kerry.
Review 51:Only one small fault the water wasn't very hot on Sunday morning perfect on Monday morning.
Review 52:Friendly staff excellent food very comfortable bed. The wedding we attended in Sneem hotel on Saturday we could say was the best one we have ever attended and there has been 7 in last 18 months. It must have been a combination of lovely people attending and the venue.
Review 53:The jacuzzi was not heated which was disappointed we had to leave it after waiting 15 mins hoping it would heat up the gym /jacuzzi area seems a little neglected - also given the tranquility of the setting very surprised there is no spa /or even beauty rooms in the hotel
Review 54:It's a fabulous hotel the receptionist was lovely the scenery spectacular the food was very good - as it was my hubby's birthday the hotel kindly gave us a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful sea view room it was a very large beautiful room and they kindly had left chocolate strawberries in the room as a surprise treat which was a lovely touch
Review 55:We are a family of 5 and so 2 queens and a pull out bed in one room does feel a bit cramped. We all slept well though!

Review 57:slight mess up on twin room but they quickly fixed.

Review 59:The bar layout is v formal and hard to relax , the music was cancelled v v late on the Saturday July 18 th , hotel well catered for young families but should separate families and couples on different floors as we had children playing at 7.30am in corridor and we away for weekend with no kids ,
Review 60:The breakfast was lovely , the rooms were v clean
Review 61:was given a beautiful balcony room with a great view, also had a fridge as requested to store insulin in. Staff so well trained and friendly. Dined on both nights in the hotel, once in the resturant and the other in the bar and couldnt find a fault. well done Sneem. If I know of anyone going around the ring of Kerry I shall recommend staying with you
Review 62:The location was fab! We opted for a room with sea view and it was defiantly worth the extra cash, fab place lovely people. The dinner and breakfast were also very nice. No complaints!
Review 63:Unfortunately the bed was too soft for us so we had sore backs both mornings - probably old age!

Review 68:The restaurant staff were friendly, but too slow. The building is lacking in architectural character.
Review 69:Location, location, location, so beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious.
Review 70:Having to pay 30 euros extra a night for a balcony and it was not listed on the website. The sausages. Having to shower in bath (Outdated)
Review 71:The size of the bedroom and that it had only bed.
Review 72:Dont stay here if you intend to use hotel wifi. Internet speeds were consistently below 1.0 (compared with about 35-0 to 50.0 in most european countries and many other Irish locations). This place is not suitable for business visitors or anyone hoping to use skype etc for telecommunications
Review 73:Nice modern place good location.
Review 74:Jacuzzi and sauna under renovations. Breakfast buffet slow to be replenished.
Review 75:The bedrooms were top notch, staff were friendly and location was excellent - gorgeous views and only a stroll to Sneem village, take the harbour route for a lovely walk to the village.
Review 76:Couldn't fault this hotel

Review 78:Leisure centre is in the basement , crammed into what appears to be a storage/utility area. I've seen prefabs with a better finish!
Review 79:Sneem village
Review 80:Jacuzzi, Leisure Facilities in a terrible location and need refurbishment Hotel decor - ambience, overall look No water in the room, minibar etc. Breakfast service needs improvement, seemed a little chaotic For the price, you get way better value in the area

Review 88:Loved location Aparrments spacious good value Ate in l hotel v good food and friendly staff
Review 89:It was very difficult to regulate the air conditioning and as a result the room was far to warm at night.. The Bar and Dining room were also very warm on Saturday evening 23rd. May.
Review 90:Lovely view though I find it interesting that the front desk asked if I wanted to pay 20 Euro more for a waterfront view, I said no I'm only in for one night, come to find out I got the view anyway so front desk wanted to scam us for extra money. Not something I'd expect from small Irish town.
Review 91:Beautiful view of lake and could be nice place to spend more than one night
Review 92:The staff were warm and friendly. The large bedrooms were very comfortable, easy access and great hot showers. The food was excellent and the staff were very accommodating for anyone with a food intolerance.
Review 93:What's not to like.
Review 94:From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at home. The hotel is situated on the edge of the village of Sneem and just a pleasant stroll away. The scenary around the hotel is stunning. Our room was big and comfortable with all modern comforts. It was spotless as was the bathroom. Would definitely recommend this hotel
Review 95:It was a windy night and the window was noisy. Pour isolation. We wake up several times during the night and in the morning we fell asleep and missed breakfast. Complained at the check out and was advised that a manager would send an e-mail.... till today. Not very nice detail after spending 268euros in a one night stay. Poor customer service.
Review 96:Staff is friendly and the dinner is good
Review 97:Comfort and cleanliness o Hotel and warm welcome and friendly assistance of Management and Staff. Generously Spacious Double bedroom and excellent shower / bath / toilet and w/h basin in ensuite bathroom. Tasty Breakfast menu and good value deliciously tasty Dining Room Menus. Warm relaxing welcome atmosphere around open log fire in stone cut Chimney breast in comfortable relaxing entrance lobby / lounge of Hotel. Extraordinarily beatiful views of adjacent River Estuary and nearby mountains from Dining Room and Lounge and Bar :-) :-)
Review 98:Given room with no view when rooms with view were clearly not fully booked. Staff could do with a refresher course. They were there, that's about it. Didn't make much effort. The gym, hot tub etc was a disgrace. Very much an after thought.
Review 99:Love Sneem.
Review 100:Tv was way to small for the room size. Need free WiFi in the bedrooms. Bath needs to be bigger.

Review 108:Excellent service in the bar and the dining room. Great choice of food. Staff very pleasant. Ample parking spaces. The hotel lobby was lovely with the big open fire, and plenty of reading material.
Review 109:The leisure facilitities are limited. it would be good if there was a pool. There is a nice sauna but the hot tub was ok, (fits four people). There was a small gym that was well equipped.
Review 110:We had a really enojoyable stay at Sneem Hotel. It was the first time we bought are dog away and we found the room, (own side door outside the room door to enter and exit) very comfortable and easy to access to come in and out of. The staff were lovely and friendly and very accomondating. The hotel has its own red setter dog who welcomed us in. We could of stayed a few more days because we felt so comfortable. The breakfasts were lovely each morning, you could of had as mush as you wanted and it was really fresh. Dinner was great (seafood chowder was lovely) and the bar had live music each night. Really great stay and the hotel was new and modern in a great location that was a small walk into the town.
Review 111:Really didn't like finding someone elses boxer shorts in the room. How can the cleaners miss something like that and also a spec of blood on the bed sheet. The bar staff just seem to want to take your money not interested at all in making small talk.
Review 112:The hotel is beautiful, fab spacious room and the food is gorgeous in hotel. The reception staff are very friendly and gave us a great welcome.

Review 115:We didn't like the location as it is a bit too far out. Leisure facilities are also very minimal.
Review 116:We loved the food and the size of the large rooms.
Review 117:Bar and restaurant severely lacking in character and atmosphere. Could be any 3* hotel. Young girl on reception with old nail varnish chipped off and wrinkled washed out wrinkled pink uniform shirt. Not 4* appearance by a long shot. Pillows caused numb ears for both of us. Very stingy with tea/coffee supplies.Toilet paper absolute rubbish quality and very stingy with that too.
Review 118:Nice room, not 4 star though, good 3* at best.Staff lovely, particularly waiting and room service staff. Quiet room always a plus.
Review 119:They supply bike for guest use, but don't account for the taller people. Only a small thing but would have liked to see some of the area by bike,
Review 120:The views from the beer garden, the village of sneem
Review 121:Room too near generators noise from these all night made it difficult to sleep. Our safe was faulty and locked my wife's handbag in, staff opened it eventually but could not use for rest of our stay
Review 122:Good comfortable hotel, excellent facilities, restaurant very good, breakfast excellent with good choices. Pleasant friendly staff. Good location for touring the Ring of Kerry.
Review 123:lack of decent spa and no swimming facilities. No Wifi in bedrooms.
Review 124:Comfort of bedrooms, so clean and airy. Big bed! Sea views magnificent. Good breakfast, quality ingredients. Staff very helpful and friendly. Dinner really nice, great selection.
Review 125:Most staff rather brusque but perfectly polite and competent. Not all rooms have mountain view.
Review 126:The view but costs extra. Big room. Excellent food but limited vegetarian choice.
Review 127:Hot tub was very grubby, plasters and other debris floating in it, bad scum ring too,
Review 128:Staff we're very helpfull, we were on a walking holiday and found location was excellent.
Review 129:Better to go there when the weather is nice.

We really enjoyed the music in the bar, such a lovely singer with a great range of songs. We enjoyed the walks with the sea view, loved the tour guide the resident red setter.
Review 133:Bar could be more comfortable some softer seating needed, puts you off eating there.
Review 134:Pleasant and helpful staff, gorgeous view from room and very spacious. Generous breakfast. Beautiful setting.
Review 135:The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room had an amazing view, lovely and clean and very spacious and the food was top quality. We went there to celebrate our anniversary and they had prepared a tray with strawberries and chocolate in our room which was a lovely touch. We would recommend this place without a doubt. Everything was perfect and can’t wait to go back.
