Reviews for Welcome Inn Hotel
Review 1:Everything , price was doubled even though when booked it was per room , bedroom shabby , shower did not work , and no breakfast. Included in the price , why ?
Review 2:Leaving
Review 3:My only fault with this hotel is that the quite poor state of cleanliness, for example the toilet bowl was unclean on arrival, and the surfaces were not cleaned. Also our bins were not emptied. Saddly the housemaids are not pulling their weight
Review 4:The helpfull and friendliness of the staff and a spacious, quiet and comfortable room, in a great location
Review 5:The staff were so friendly and extremely helpful. I need directions to find a relation's house and they wrote them out for me and also directions to the local church. They couldn't do enough. Definitely a hotel that I would recommend for people to stay in.
Review 6:Toilet leaked dripped and made noise all night shower did not work properly one bath towel for 2 people requested 2 following day plus floor towel got one bath towel again no floor towel dangerous when getting out of shower on to tiled floor no lift old fashioned hotel needs revamping at 225 for 2 nights no breakfast for 2 people overpriced would not stay there again.
Review 7:Location
Review 8:The water in the shower was too hot. Pure boiling water! So we used the bath instead. The radiators were booming out heat ( yes in August) There were some dusty ledges in the room but on the whole reasonably clean. We met elderly visitors struggling with luggage on the stairs. We were glad to assist them but a lift or porter may have been of great help to them.
Review 9:The Welcome Inn was perfect for our overnight stay in Castlebar. We were arriving late and leaving early. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Free parking, the room was perfect for our needs. The bathroom was bright and spacious. Tea and coffee facility in room. The breakfast was reasonably priced, promptly served and we enjoyed our stay.
Review 10:Hotel is in need of a bit of TLC, reception/bar were very welcoming & clean. Stairs & hallways to rooms could do with an industrial clean, Bathroom & Shower could do with an upgrade, Bedrooms need to be upgraded.
Review 11:Location of hotel was excellent, very central to everything! Staff were very friendly & helpful.
Review 12:Very noisy- party going on til 3am. Shower was scorching hot & couldnt get it to cool down. There were 3 of us staying in room but we were only given 1 towel.
Review 13:Staff, location, room & beds good
Review 14:Very dated hotel, lock on door not best or safe for single lady.. Cold room cudnt put on heater.. No number given to ring reception..party on cud hear noise from downstAirs
Review 15:It was in town
Review 16:The stairs carpet was in bad need of a good hoover as was my bed room carpet. The bed was hard, but I had to dust the head board of bed as it was filthy as were the lamps over the bed, there were peanuts dropped on carpet most likely from previous guests, so need to invest in good housekeeping staff.
Review 17:Centrally located.
Review 18:The smell of smoke was dreadful. Although a non smoking hotel it still smelt. All the staff could do was to apologise.
Review 19:Staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. A very rare attribute when compared to modern hotels
Review 20:Paying at the end of our stay at reception was appalling. The receptionist who I think was the owner was talking aboyt people while we were paying. We were nevervasked if we enjoyed our stay.Very dissatisfied.
Review 21:Only picked up wifi signal in reception plus rooms could do with being revamped apart from that good hotel
Review 22:Just a good hotel in a good location staff very friendly Would stay there again
Review 23:Worse experience ever , went to bed at 3 , noise in next room , keep us a wake , next noise down the hall , was unbearable if u want to sleep , management had to be call , so in the end we end up checking out at 5 in the morn, no point staying u have never got a night sleep , a nightmare off a stay ,
Review 24:Could not control room heating so had to sleep witb window open. Nightclub noise therefore became a problem as it kept me awake. Shame really as it became a catch 22 situation.
Review 25:Helpful staff..good beer..clean and tidy...would use it again
Review 26:Not much to complain about really just the noise from nightclub but not to bad that it was jus open the one night
Review 27:Close to the pubs etc. Staff friendly and good value for money. Would definitely stay again
Review 28:- Difficult enough to find, even with Google, because of Castlebar's one-way traffic system. Their website should have clear instructions. - There was a function on downstairs in room near reception. It was actually not too noisy and didn't bother me sleepwise but if you're noise-sensitive you might want to ask for a quiet room as there was quite a lot of noise with late-night revellers coming to and fro.
Review 29:- Excellent breakfast - Very friendly staff...when they saw me coming back from a run they gave me suggestions for nice running route if I'm back that way - Good central location - There is a lovely homely feel about the place. If you want a nice, simple, old-style hotel with a proper Irish welcome and interest in guests this is it. No fancy frills or facilities like many modern hotels but make up for it in homeliness and welcome
Review 30:Stains on bed linen, shower blocked(water filled up in tray when I was in shower),no heating on at night at the end of october,no cooked breakfast,no bath mat to step on once out of shower (nearly fell over!)
Review 31:Staff and location good-toast nice at breakfast
Review 32:The breakfast was fresh well cooked and with friendly service. The bartender was efficient and helpful. It was also close to the city centre to encourage walking .
Review 33:Poor facilities had no phone n room coffee tea making facility was poor as i had to go downstairs 4 milk which you would not have expected to do
Review 34:Staff were nice
Review 35:nightclub going til late. we never read that their was one there. late night revellers going very late.
Review 36:How they dealt with complaint. They did not fob us off. Iknew they were genuinely sorry Everything else A1.
Review 37:This hotel is very outdated. The bathroom was not clean, stains and marks on the doors and walls. There was a smell of cigarette smoke throughout. Water taps in the bathroom were broken.. Really offputting. Wont stay here again. This hotel would need a total revamp.
Review 38:For 89€ I would at least expect breakfast to be included. Decor a bit dated.for value not great . But it might be better to stay on sat night as I believe there is entertainment on sat.Hotel and bar was empty on the Friday.
Review 39:Very central all pubs and great music in most just across the street. Nice restaurants there also.staff very friendly.the building on outside looks beautiful.
Review 40:Room is dated and kettle didn't work without a bit of fiddling with the cable..
Review 41:Its cheap and cheerful. Don't expect a palace but its comfy and great location.
Review 42:Bar was old fashioned, while bar staff were very friendly it would not be that comfortable a place to spend a few hours socialising.
Review 43:Central location, closeness to Restaurants, Pubs etc. Staff were friendly. Parking was free. Nightly rate was very reasonable. Good access to Wi-Fi in Hotel Room.
Review 44:night porter was unhelpful sent us looking for food down town directing us to the 24hr garage when we had arrived back that night feeling hungry and then finding it hard to gain re-entry .Rasher where a bit to salty
Review 45:nice food very very friendly receptionist while checking in and out they knew their jobs well/ lovely waitress served us our breakfast in a lovely well lit airy room barman a bit distant
Review 46:No internet connection, none in the lobby and none in the bedrooms. Internet was available in the coffee shop across the road.
Review 47:Good value for money, with a nice full Irish breakfast. Friendly and professional staff.
Review 48:NOTHING
Review 49:My sister and husband are in their 70s and while we were checking in we were presented with tea/coffee and a selection of cakes etc. free of charge. During the course of the evening we were made feel so much at home. On sunday we inquired about the times of church services and to our amazement the owner of the hotel drove us to the church because it was raining. My wife and I go away 5/6 times a year and never have we experience anything like the kindness of this hotel.
Review 50:The shower curtain was dirty. Although the room was booked for two people only one set of towels were left in the room. I had to ask for more. There was a nail sticking out of the door handle and although I asked for something to be done about it on arrival, nothing was and I cut my finger twice on it. The receptionist gave inaccurate information on the two occasions I asked for it. I also discovered on my last day there, that I should have been given a "Love Castlebar" card, which would have entitled me to a 10% discount in many of the shops and cafés, but wasn't. I returned to the hotel and when I mentioned it to the receptionist, she did apologise and offered me an old one. Not sure what she expected me to do with an old one, but as I was leaving Castlebar, it was too late to give me either a new one or an old one.
Review 51:Not much to like about the hotel, but Castlebar itself was very nice.
Review 52:Corridor smelled bit fusty ! Light in bedroom too dim although there were side lights over bed.
