Reviews for Angela Hotel
Review 1:Roughly 20km from port of Aegina.
Review 2:Very friendly staff, nice breakfast, descent sized TV with HDMI interface for laptop connection, and good sized room.
Review 3:Great location, lovely atmosphere, superb garden and very clean and modern. The breakfast was amazing with a different speciality every morning. Angela and her daughter were very accommodating.
Review 4:The staf/owners were extremely hospitable, helpful and friendly - providing all necessary advice regarding the hotel and island. They were very eager to please and make you as comfortable as possible. Breakfast was delicious - varied every day with local treats. Hotel was kept very clean. I have visited numerous Greek islands and this is definitely one of the nicest hotels in this price range that I have stayed at. Also well located for sandy beach.
Review 5:the beds were hard and difficult to sleep on, but that is probably more to do with our preference.
Review 6:The location is great and the information that the staff provided to make our stay easy to get around the island or really whatever we wanted was super. The breakfast was a great way to start the day and it had everything on the table to tempt any taste.
Review 7:You should be ready that Agia Marina is not the main port on the island, so Alexandros boats to/from Athens are seldom, usually twice a day. But you can get to the main port of Aegina and take a bus to Agia Marina (I had to do this, because when I left there were no boats that day at all).
Review 8:Really good price/quality index! Location is 2 min by foot from the beach and port Agia Marina. Clean rooms, friendly staff. My room was ready at 11 am, as I arrived earlier.
Review 9:TV reception not always good. Juggling with the temperature at night was hard - too cold with the air con on, too hot with the door open - but that's not the hotel's fault.
Review 10:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts in the leafy garden were a delight. The swimming pool may not be right next to the hotel, but it's just up the road, and is wonderful! Anyway, the sandy beach is very close, and at this time of year was quiet, clean and beautiful. Everything was wonderful!
Review 11:The location was perfect and the breakfast was very nice. The owner and staff could not have been more helpful. We needed ferry times and help deciding on the best way to reach our destination as we were island hopping and the Angela sorted it all out for us.
Review 12:The entire staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. 10 out of 10 for them. The pool area was fabulous. We spent most of our time there. Beautiful.
Review 13:The hotel staff i.e. Angela and her daughter were really very helpful and friendly which made our stay so good. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious!!
Review 14:The swimming pool is five minutes walking from the hotel.
Review 15:The staff at Angela Hotel are very kind and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. The rooms are comfortable with air conditioning, toilet & shower, cleanliness, toiletries...
Review 16:We enjoyed a short stay in this likeable little resort. The Hotel Angela was pretty good value - lovely friendly staff, clean and pleasant surroundings, in a little micro-apartment. Excellent breakfast by Greek standards. The pool is round the corner, not on site as perhaps pictures suggest, but with beaches less than 5 mins away, we didn't care much.
Review 17:we had to leave to come home.
Review 18:Lovely Hotel and lovely owners and in a great central position, the crystal pool bar that is the hotels pool is about 100yds from the hotel but so worth the walk because it is a superb place to spend the day and relax and swim, the people at the pool were again as friendly and welcoming as could be, we had a great stay at this hotel and could recommend it to anyone as superb.
Review 19:The ceilings are too old fashioned, they should move on to more trendy decoration.
Review 20:It was a nice hotel, very pleasant staff, clean rooms. We had an enjoyable stay. The management is very professional and welcoming. Lovely breakfast with Greek specialities. Near the beach and swimming pool and local facilities.
Review 21:Cannot really mention any downsides.
Review 22:Angela is generally a very lovely hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with spacious balconies and good air-conditioning. The breakfasts are simple, but great: you get 2 types of bread, cheese, olives and feta of course, some vegetables, a variety of jams and delicious bakery. The hotel is very easy to find, it is a couple of meters from the bus station to Aegina town. The beach is in 5 minutes walking distance. The best thing about Angela hostel is the personnel. They are all extremely nice and friendly. I have texted them a couple of times before the arrival and received really quick replies. The lady at the reception, Giota was super helpful, she has done everything to make our stay comfortable. I definetely suggest staying at this hotel.
Review 23:Absolutely nothing.
Review 24:I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel! Linen changed daily, room cleaned, new towels. More than adequate breakfast. Extremely friendly staff. I would recommend anyone to stay there.
Review 25:It is a little problem to find hotel, the google map is wrong.
Review 26:Very nice staff, clean room, and good breakfast. Surprisingly, they supply disposable slipper. It is my first time to see it in an European hotel.
Review 27:There is nothing to dislike about this hotel
Review 28:A lovely hotel, run buy lovely people. Spotlessly clean hotel, the room we had was spacious with a big double bed, upgraded bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities.
Review 29:Small room, but that is to be expected for greece and the price we paid.
Review 30:Rénovations have been done at this location which makws the hotel very comfortable. Very clean
Review 31:The pool in an adjacent property was too quiet to be usable, but with the attractive and reasonably priced bay so close was not really needed.
Review 32:A very nice room with a view of Ag Marina's excellent bay. Helpful staff and a security box free of charge. The best Greek breakfast for years was included.
Review 33:We stayed in a split level apartment for a week with our three year old son. We were looked after amazingly by Angela and her daughter, really made us feel welcome. The apartment was equipped with everything you needed, kitchen had a kettle, coffee maker, toasted sandwich maker as well as all the usual pans etc, it even had coffee, sugar, breadsticks, chocolate, fruit, jam, honey. Hand wash in both bathroom. A lot of attention had gone into the details of making our stay there wonderful and it didn't go unnoticed. Spotlessly clean on arrival and cleaning was done every day. Two showers, both of which had good pressure and hot water. Bed was so comfortable, big enough for all three of us with room to spare. Breakfast was brilliant, always lots to choose from and a good variety of sweet and savoury. Great location, super market round the corner, baker opposite that. Shops and restaurants a 5 min walk away. Beach a 5 min walk and swimming pool about the same. Can highly recommend this hotel, it is great value but what makes it so special is Angela and her family and the time and care they take in making sure you are happy.
Review 34:It would have been nice to know that the pool was not on the premises of the hotel but about a block and a half walk away. Not a big deal though.
Review 35:Although Aegina is not as fun a place as I would have hoped, Angela Hotel was comfortable and the staff was helpful and attentive. We left before breakfast started and they made sandwiches for us to take with us without us asking for it.
Review 36:leaving it was quiet in May but other than that no complaints
Review 37:location excellent Beach location and the people and of course Angela and her daughter and lovely granddaughter hop to return
Review 38:Everything was great! Spacious and very clean rooms with nice terrace, welcoming and extremely helpful lady, great breakfast... The words are not enough to describe this excellent hotel we stayed in. So we will return at Angela for sure.
Review 39:This hotel ticked all the boxes for me. Very happy with the service, location and amenities. Thank you guys and keep up the good work. Rebecca from Australia
Review 40:Breakfast a bit average, but a reasonably wide choice and for the price is was great. Small shower - barely room to manoeuvre, but it did the job..!
Review 41:Location excellent - near the Main Street but round a corner - flat access (no hill!) & at the end of town, so quiet. Also at the best end of town to get to the lovely pool club a short walk up the road. Fantastic family run staff. Really really helpful...! Our daughter was poorly and they helped us so much..!!
Review 42:The patio, with vines and hibiscus and honeysuckle abundant, where we ate breakfast. The beach is at the perfect distance, three minutes stroll. Have dinner in Thymari restaurant, great food and fun with the owners. Angela and her family are gracious hosts and very helpful. Welcoming, relaxed. Do bring Jungle Fever, the island is full of trees (pistachio, olive..heaven).
Review 43:our room was on the second floor, facing the road and it was noisy!! the rooms could do with a bit of sound insulation!!
Review 44:The staff were perfect and did everything to help and they were happy and gave the place a great atmosphere! The whole place was so clean!! Theres a beautiful garden to sit at during breakfast!! The breakfast choices were great!! The bedrooms were a great size for the two of us!! Didnt use the pool but its so close to beach that youd never need to! There are loads of bars and restaurants just round the corner so theres always somewhere to go!!
Review 45:There was a weird greek sauce for breakfast that I didn't like.
Review 46:The island is beautiful and we could park out quad and moped right out front. It was late winter so the east side of the island was very quiet but endlessly friendly. The hotel itself was fantastic.
Review 47:The staff we're brilliant, helpful and generous. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and very clean. I would highly recommend anyone stay at this hotel it was amazing and brilliant value for money.
Review 48:The hotel had everything we expected and more. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The wellcome fruits, and the disposable slippers was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very warm and helpful. The breakfast was perfect, and also was the breakfast area in front of the garden. excellent value for money
Review 49:The swimming pool is half a kilometre away from the hotel. Wrong time of year to visit this resort.
Review 50:Hotel was great. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Very clean.
Review 51:Had cold shower on one of the nights, but it may just be because no one was staying there at the time. I'm sure summer time would be ok.
Review 52:The owner was so nice!! We were the only ones there during the stay and although the breakfast bar wasn't open at that time, she made us personalized breakfast. She also helped us book taxi and give us ideas of where to see. Overall a nice place! Good for families, everything was comfortable and the kitchen was a nice added touch. 2 bathrooms too, which is convenient.
Review 53:Pool picture is 300 meters from hotel. Privately owned and open to public. 2€ per person, per day. Beach is further than 100 meters. Breakfast was fine, but not special. Good amount of traffic/street noise. Family hotel. That includes new baby in breakfast area.
Review 54:Hotel is 1 Star and was comfortable for that Star rating. A/C worked well. Generally, nothing 'special' about hotel. I do not understand all the high ratings.
Review 55:#1 The Booking.com map for hotel location is wrong. Use Google to see correct location. I walked and asked to find this hotel. My rooms was standard. Did not have any way to heat water for coffee/tea in room. You want something early in morning, go to town. Breakfast at hotel doesn't start till 08:00/08:30. Old TV with rabbit ear antenna (weak reception), no internet in room, furniture weak, corner unit has road noise at night, stopper in bathroom sink not big enough to hole. A challenge to wash out items, breakfast was fair (4-nights: thin omelet once, fried egg once, hard boiled egg 2-days, cereal, yogurt, fresh sweets from bakery, fair coffee (after 1st day I made instant coffee), baby crying in dining area (family owned/run hotel), no lift, long walk to pool (separate business, you pay 2 Euro, per day to use). Beach more than 200 meters. I stay at this hotel to see/experience the Excellent and Very Good reviews written. Summary: this is a 1-star hotel. That is it...
Review 56:Had a corner room with minimal view of water. A/C worked good. Bathroom area was good size and shower curtain kept most all else dry. Small area to eat breakfast outside in mornings. Food markets, bakery, and bus stop close to hotel. Internet ok in reception/dining area.
Review 57:absolutly nothing :)
Review 58:Friendly and helpful Staff. More then perfect breakfast. Clean and confortable room. Quiet and close to the beach. Really everything was perfect. I recomend to everybody!
Review 59:Nothing
Review 60:We would like to thank the owners for all their effort in making us feel like home even if it was the end of season and we were the only ones in the hotel. If we're coming back we'll stay there for sure!!! PS. Thank you for the great breckfast
Review 61:Having to leave.
Review 62:Angela and her family go out of their way to make your holiday a memorable one.The breakfast was the best I have ever had in greece,Angela was always baking fresh treats for every day, such as apple fritters and cheese pies, everybody who works at the hotel were very happy in their work ,always smiling and helpful, the rooms were spotless as was the whole hotel, even little Angelika,Angelas granddaughter smiled her way into everyones heart. This hotel comes highly reccomended.
Review 63:Very clean, very helpful family owners, great breakfast with homemade cake, good free wifi, quite near the beach, best bed I ever slept in. Very quiet at night.
Review 64:Helpful staff, always ready to help and answer our questions, neat room, delicious breakfasts, good location - close to beach, supermarket around the corner. We can only recommend this lovely place.
Review 65:Very helpful staff! Excellent breakfast and facilities! Overall everything perfect and great value for money! The must place to stay when you're visiting Agia Marina.
Review 66:The staff did warn us about the quality of the tap water in Aegina , as it was not drinkable.
Review 67:The breakfasts were lovely. There was a lot to choose from. The staff were really friendly. They helped us find buses to the town.
Review 68:Nothing negative to write. Excellent experience
Review 69:1) excellent value 2) central location 3) excellent free breakfast 4) super friendly and helpful staff
Review 70:Everything good - no negatives.
Review 71:The famiy who run the hotel are lovely. I hesitate to call them 'the staff' because they felt more like friends by the time we left. The breakfasts were great - all the basics plus every day a different selection of small 'treats'. Little sweet cakes or savoury bites.
Review 72:Due to the location of the breakfast area (near the front garden) there were lot's of bees and sometimes they were inside the balls of honey.
Review 73:Close to the center and the beach was only 5 min walk from the hotel. There is a supermarket only 50 meters away. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms were very clean and the stuff was excellent
Review 74:Absolut nothing:-)
Review 75:We visited Angela hotel for 2 weeks and loved every day of our stay. Nothing was impossible and the service amazing. We felt at home, and could ask for help, if we needed it. The breakfast is amazing, and Angelas homemade cakes are to die for:-) The place is spotless, the rooms shining all the time. Everything new. WIFI was really good! We had seawiew, and could not believe how Nice it was. There is a really Nice Big pool just two minutes walk with a DJ playing the best funky Music, and the beach is also, just Down the Road. Go to nikos bar on the beach, its close and the service is good. For dinner go to the Nice lady at Toms Pita, on the mainstreet. Best food there, and gyros only costs 2€. If all greeks in the tourist business were like this, there would be no problems in greece! Morder and daughter, two strong woman with good harts! We are definitly going back!
Review 76:Really close to the beach. The swimming pool was amazing, as well as the guy working there. The location of the hotel is great. Next to the bus stop, the beach/pool/shops/taverns. The room was clean and everybody was helpful! Nice breakfast as well! I would highly reccommend it for anyone! A cheap and nice choice for the summer! I m definitely going back!
Review 77:Nothing we didn't like .
Review 78:We stayed at the hotel in July for 10 days staff were very friendly ,very nice room with a sea view very clean and an excellent breakfast location is right in the centre of town but far enough away from the main bars that noise wasn't a problem, the swimming pool was lovely all in all an excellent hotel would definitely stay there again
