Reviews for Kennys Guest House

Review 1:Nothing!

Review 2:Convenient clean good facilities and friendly owners and ambiance. Fab freshly cooked breakfasts and lovely welcoming g Residents Lounge with real milk for tea and coffee!

Review 3:We liked everything about Kenny's Guest House! The hosts were helpful & friendly, location was great, car park was convenient and breakfast was delicious and plentiful! The room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the cozy sitting room.

Review 4:No bad points.

Review 5:Central in Castlebar. Extremely comfortable and clean. Lovely sitting room. Perfect breakfast - something for everyone from full Irish to fruit and yoghourt. Real coffee. Very kind hosts. Great value.

Review 6:the family were so welcoming, the beds were comfy and the bedding white and crisp and clean, the french toast at breakfast time was gorgeous, i had mine with bacon and tomatoes, delicious, also the residents lounge was clean and warm and cosy, everything fabulous!

Review 7:Towels were small and hard. It's a very small thing and the only thing that could be an improvement

Review 8:The staff were just so friendly. The breakfast was amazing with lots of homemade bread and jams. The location was in the town and the town was lovely.

Review 9:It says a lot when we looked to stay for a third night. The owners were so nice and helpful. In most guest houses breakfast can be the same but here there were little extras in that french toast was sent out to our table. Gooseberry jam to which i have not had in years. The it is close to the Dublin road and is situated in walking distance to shops and restaurants. I will be back

Review 10:Ensure you speak to the staff to clarify access to your car, which isn't a problem, but something we didn't clarify how it would work.

Review 11:Right near the center of town, makes getting around easy.

Review 12:Had to wait outside until owner returned from mass. House keeper had not a word of english & could not explain where everyone was..The butter was gone off...I tried four patties & they were all bad taste.

Review 13:Clean, location.

Review 14:The proprietors are accommodating and friendly. The breakfasts are terrific - you get a menu to select from! The Bar One pub just around the corner serves super meals at reasonable prices too.

Review 15:Nobody home when we arrived, had to stand on the street and eventually gained access through the good fortune of meeting another guest who had the door code. Waited about 30min before somebody came to reception.

Review 16:Only downside wasn't really a problem. The free carpark was full, so I had to park on street accross the road. However, this is free from 6.30pm to 8.30am, and only €1 per hour apart from then, so not overly expensive.

Review 17:The welcome was friendly and the room and ensuite clean and fresh. The location was perfect for access to the centre of Castlebar and the breakfast was delicious, more than enough to satisfy anyone. Great value for money.

Review 18:A little noisy, could hear my neighbour's cellphone ringing several times at night. The single bed seemed a little narrow. The own parking lot is too small if every room is engaged.

Review 19:Very clean. Great location, the mall is just one minute by foot. Nice staff.

Review 20:ask for a room to the rear as the street traffic starts at 6am...not the fault of the propertry of course

Review 21:Spotlessly clean and very cosy, central location

Review 22:The best guesthouse I have been in. We had a very relaxing stay at Kennys. Nothing was rushed and Suzanna and her family made us very welcome. We explored Castlebar and Westport and visited Knock. Even the weather was kind to us! With the help of Suzanna we found a few good places to eat in the town and watch the rugby. It was a perfect break for a few days.

Review 23:Kenny's is a fine B&B but be aware that there are other fine guest-houses around Castlebar that may be offering better value on any given night.

Review 24:I stayed in Kenny's a couple of times and was happy in every respect. I then checked out their prices with a view to returning a third time due to a business meeting but found that the overnight rate quoted had suddenly jumped to a level that was comparable to the town's many fine hotels.

Review 25:I cannot fault this guest-house in any way.

Review 26:Kenny's ticks all the boxes for me anytime I have a business trip to Castlebar. I recommend without hesitation. I much prefer this guest-house to some anonymous chain-run hotel on the edge of town.

Review 27:Nothing

Review 28:Perfect spot right off Main Street. Private parking or on street. Cosy little room that had everything you needed- hair dryer etc. 10 min walk to Royal Theatre.

Review 29:Lovely guest house. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Great location, close to shops. Friendly staff & the breakfast was fabulous! Would definitely stay again :)

Review 30:Owners seemed a little insincere, pretended to be more pleasant than they actually felt. At my other guest houses I felt much more warmth & welcome.

Review 31:Nice little place, quiet.

Review 32:Bathroom door was difficult to close. Other than when we booked in and out, staff were impossible to find. Strong cooking smell during the evening.

Review 33:Spacious room with three beds. Lovely bathroom with easy-to-use power shower. Excellent wifi signal in room.

Review 34:I stayed at Kenneys overnight and have to say it was just super. Got a lovely welcome from Suzanne who gave me all the details and showed me to my lovely room. The following morning I had a delicious breakfast served by Raymond the man of the house. They were both so warm and friendly and made me feel at home.

Review 35:Lighting in public areas - timer needs to be reset to provide lighting for at least 1 minute; light goes out before one reaches room. Toilet - water flow is slow and toilet doesnt flush fully ; cistern needs attention (Room 3) or water pressure deficiency perhaps?

Review 36:Bedroom decor - modern and attractive; very good breakfast - generous helpings. Helpfulness of owners about the town and area; private parking;

Review 37:Relatively small parking facility

Review 38:Very nice B&B. Quiet but near the city center. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Very good breakfast with local products. Very friendly and helpful owners. Recommended.

Review 39:Excellent town centre location with off-street parking. Deborah (daughter of owners) was on duty during my stay and very helpful with all my enquiries. Very clean and comfortable with good-quality ingredients for the full Irish breakfast which I availed of. Would definitely recommend.

Review 40:We only had a one night stay but felt very welcome by the family. The room was comfortable, quiet and the breakfast was generous. There was off road parking for the motorcycles which was why we chose it and only one street away from pubs, restaurants and shops. Would go back again.

Review 41:Hard to find location. Drove past it a couple of times.

Review 42:Had a good breakfast, room was very clean and the staff was very pleasant. Parking was available on site.

Review 43:The B&B was very easy to find! and once we were shown to our room the owner's daughter (I think) came back with a small jug of milk for our coffee...no UHT milk which I hate! There is a code for the front door, so you can come and go as you please. The bed in room one is amazing! It is very high and I haven't had a good a nights sleep in a long time! We have been talking about buying a new mattress since we came back! We stayed to climb Croagh Patrick on Reek Sunday, and left early in the morning. When we finished our climb we realised we were going to be a little bit late for breakfast (between 9 and 10), so I rang the owner and explained we might be late, just so she wasn't waiting on us, and she told us to take our times and come on ahead back for breakfast! We were delighted as we were well ready for it! The other half was especially pleased as there was a fuss made over him and I think he may have got a few extras on his full Irish fry!! I had poached eggs and we were both very happy with our breakfast. Lovely place, clean and modern, in a perfect location to walk round the corner for a few drinks and not have to worry about taxis, and only a short drive to Westport. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again next year!

Review 44:Had to ask directions 3 times and even the locals seemed confused by the 1 way system of the town (not Kenny's Guesthouses fault LOL)

Review 45:It's a fairly central location in the town, close to shopping area. Off street parking (TINY, get there early!!)
