Reviews for The Oberoi Udaivilas Udaipur
Review 1:You pay for it to enjoy this luxury.
Review 2:Everything and everything. The experience from start to finish leaves you wanting for more. Beautiful place and setting. Exceptional staff and service.
Review 3:Their nightime performance on the deck was embarrassing. The performers were not prepared--most people got up and left. Leela palace had similar show, and theirs was much more organized and entertaining. Food at restaurants---mediocre (although that was true for almost all other restaurants at other hotels) Wifi charge!---really??? The charges werent cheap either. I am paying a significant amount for my stay---just add it to the cost of hotel stay so i dont feel like i am getting nickel and dimed.
Review 4:Service was second to none. I will always compare other hotels to them( and be let down). The cleanliness was incredible. I looked for flaws in their hotel cleanliness, could not find one.
Review 5:One waiter pushing dinner consumption and drinks and not delivering good service. No mention in advertising literature that semi-private gorgeous infinity pool with most expensive suite was not heated and unusable in winter season.
Review 6:Luxury feel of entire stay.
Review 7:Service is so impeccable that it might become a problem. Our neighbors decided to get drunk one night and throw a party. The guest services staff was divided between our comfort and theirs and were not able to make them quiet. This situation had to be solved with a personal visit to the next room at 2 am with some hard words and threats, which was quite unpleasant and ruined a good night of sleep. Even after the neighbors became more docile, the hotel staff was asked to clean up their room. It is very good to be able to rely on a 24h service but not that good if it involves lots of movement in the hallway at 3 am.
Review 8:Oberoi Udaivilas is literally a palace in which you are treated as an honored guest. Service is impeccable and the property is very well managed. 24h swimming pools are not common in hotels around India, so it was an upside to find a room with direct access to one for late swimming.
Review 9:Price is a kind of killing one... And at the same time - paid wifi... It is a kind of a shame of all Oberoi hotels... I still do not get the idea behind it. Wifi cost for 1 day is a cost for 2 months of using family wifi in Russia
Review 10:Everything is just great... We had a semi-private pool... With the lake view and peacock walking nearby with his beautiful tail :) wonderful place to stay. They have just turn a fairytale into the life...
Review 11:Though everything at Udaivilas is designed to give guests a royal luxurious experience,I wish the hotel would be a little more proactive with the mosquitoes at Chandini, and the dance performances .The dancers or their insipid performances do showcase the true artistic heritage of Rajasthan
Review 12:Our stay at the Udaivilas,Udaipur was simply magical with personalized service from the hotel staff. We loved the royal welcome that we received on arrival. We had gone to celebrate my mom's 72nd birthday. She was delighted to receive a hand written birthday card from the GM Mr.Vincent Guironnet and a delicious cake which was placed in our room, after we had dinner at the Chandini. Every hotel staff wished her on that day.The housekeeping team was amazing and ensured we had a comfortable stay. The spa with its serene ambiance is the place to rejuvenate.Loved to interact with the Jetty staff .The panoramic view of the city palace, the decor and the surroundings can mesmerize even the most cynical guest. Tijori the in house boutique is a must visit for its hand picked collection of Indian handicrafts and precious jewelry .
Review 13:service is beyond everything you can imagine. Welcome with rose leaves falling on your head, every time you come back to the hotel you're welcomed with refreshening towels. Amazing swimming pools,
Review 14:Coffee service at breakfast was a bit slow (I had to ask 3 times for a cup of coffee - which is not expected in this kind of hotel).
Review 15:Transfer in style, with arrival via the boat jetty.
Review 16:Read previous reviews, again .can not belive such a high level hotel but charge network... , almost all of the employees is very good, but the Spa is very disappointing for everything ....facilities not good as same as the high level hotel... there is no way to give you any mysterious feeling as you are in India and special in the Spa in India......really disappoint the massage girl who actually cleaning room when I still change clothes..and .naked ... I believe The Spa manager should be fired .. No matter what... Spa is tottly no feeling of any spirit
Review 17:almost all of the employees is very good
Review 18:The hotel over charged us for a night we didn't stay and still haven't refunded the money. You would hope a hotel of this standard would treat its guests with more respect and fairness.
Review 19:Truly loved the massage but $150 Australian for a one hour massage was very expensive
Review 20:The grounds, dining and reception and outdoor eating areas, bedrooms and the cleanliness of the whole place including the staff. The delicious food and the care and attention of the staff. Most certainly the best hotel we have ever stayed at.
Review 21:What's not to like! As my friends and I stepped into the sheer grandeur of this 50 acre property to the welcome of rose petals, traditional tika and the ever smiling and polite staff, we just did not want to step out, ever! Every little detail about this place is so perfect and well thought out, right from the towel art in the rooms, the spa, the private swimming pools, to the never ending lush greenery all around, the little gazebo made for yoga by the lake Pichola, the chatty morning staff who serves masala tea and hot cookies as you drag yourself out of bed to watch the sun rise. A very helpful concierge guided us through our itinerary with splendid recommendations, that well accommodated our plans of exploring and enjoying the luxury of the resort itself as well. Highly highly recommend the Oberoi Udaivilas for anybody looking for a relaxing holiday to get over any pent up work stress, notwithstanding the price. Its totally worth it!
Review 22:The fact that after paying a hefty amount for accommodation one had to pay an additional 15 Eur a day for WIFI when everywhere else in India this is provided free of charge
Review 23:Everything
Review 24:There was nothing not to like unless you prefer your swimming pool heated The Oberoi and staff are wonderful
Review 25:The location of this hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is like nowhere else in India for peace and quiet and wonderful food.arriving by boat with flower petals scattered on your head from above and a delicious refreshing welcome drink is a delight and the hotel and staff so not disappoint in any way. This Oberoi really "does what it says on the tin" !!
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:The location is truly divine. It doesn't seem like a part of India. It is an out of the world experience. The staff meets the highest standards of customer satisfaction. The property is awesome. The food is just amazing. U can order nythimg and you can never go wrong with it.
Review 28:The staff were excellent - efficient, helpful and always ready with a smile. It was a pleasure to be in a hotel where the staff genuinely seemed to enjoy working there.
Review 29:Very hard to fault in any way.
Review 30:From the moment we arrived the welcome was wonderful. Beautiful hotel with gorgeous rooms made for relaxation. The hotel is excellently maintained both internally and externally. The Staff were amazing always ready to please us and very genuine. Food in restaurants was good.
Review 31:This hotel is simply magical, and an experience of its own. The compound is simply extraordinary, well-kept, bordering Lake Pichola, and offering a panoramic view of the City Palace. The gardens and facilities draw you in, compelling you to spend more time around them. I strongly recommend booking a room with a lake view, even if it's almost double the price of one with a garden view. You gain access to a semi-private swimming pool directly from your room's backdoor. It's worth every single penny! If you decide on booking here, make sure to spend at least half a day to a full day at the hotel. So plan your visit to the city accordingly. And make sure to take the complimentary boat ride from the hotel's private dock to the City Palace. I could keep on praising this great establishment with many more words. For the sake of concision, suffice it to say that this is luxury at its finest! Enjoy!

Review 63:The hotel staff thoroughly spoilt us with their attention to detail, making it extremely difficult to return to the real world :)
Review 64:The Property The Staff The food The Spa
Review 65:Though most of the staff was personable, the staff at the restaurant Chandini (I think that was the name) left more to be desired. They seemed to eager to cater to the non-Indians. After we drew attention to the lack of service at our table they made up for it!
Review 66:The location, the vast expanse of the property was overall magical.. Facilities were good. Even though they had a myriad of wedding guests followed by corporate groups their service remained exemplary!
Review 67:The uninspired menu. The chili in the Indian food when the order was for minimum spiced. The charge for fresh orange juice offered by the Chef as an apology for the chili food. Indifferent female staff. The long walk to the room. The price.
Review 68:The room, the shared pool, the design, the position, the terrace, the ferry, the transfer by limo, the male staff.
Review 69:Wish there wouldve been more coordination with the Oberoi management because i asked for a car to pick me up from the airport by an email and I got confirmation and when I arrived I was frustrated to see no one was waiting.
Review 70:Truely an amazing place the Staff are what makes this place exceptional. Best service I have ever experienced. Great atmosphere. I visited the Taj and leela for dinner but i still prefer Udaivilas they are just on another level. The view the staff the ambience the atmosphere is just incredible. The people who work there love their jobs and it shows.
