Hotel Continental is located in downtown Rijeka. Built in 1888 and now a protected cultural monument, the hotel is seen by many as the very symbol of the city.
The property was entirely renovated in 2009 and offers nicely furnished rooms and suites with dark wood furniture and a warm décor.

Review 1：Though, the cleanliness in general was OK, there were several long hairs in my bathroom, probably left from the chambermaid. The shower was attached to the wall on the level of my shoulder, it was impossible to bring it higher. The hotel is located in a rather noise place, which is also a meeting point to a grown of young people late in the night. For me it was OK, but if you are looking for a really quite place, you can be disappointed.
Review 2：Nice old building, clean and recently renewed room, central location, pleasant view from the window. Breakfast was not bad.
Review 3：Friday and Saturday nights young groups of peoplr gsther in the area outside the hotel for a drnk, and can get noisy. They are harmless though.

Review 5：The area outside the hotel seems to be a gathering place at night for many young people. While they were not badly behaved the sound from their many conversations made it difficult getting to sleep.

Review 17：Maybe I expected more from the breakfast, particularly I felt the lack of cappuccino and the usual varities of coffee that is available in the bars of the downtown. Also the salted things were not so particularly tasteful.
Review 18：I had appreciated the staff, that speaks italian and provided all the infos we need. Room was clean, with spacious bathroom and comfortable bed. The view from the windows is nice, and the city centre is just across the river. Good value for money.
Review 19：The bed was very comfortable which was wonderful. I would have liked the wi-fi signal to have been stronger. It worked fine outside of the room but inside the signal was very weak. Other than the rooms was enjoyable.
Review 20：We at the front of the hotel, and found the open space in front of the hoel over the river was a meeting point in the evening (weekend) for local youths, and unfortunately we were unable to sleep on saturday evening until 3am (following morning) due to loud music and partying. And we specifically requested a "quiet room" when we booked through booking.com under "any special requirements", apart from this everything was great.

Review 89：It's a smoking hotel. There are NO rooms that are non smoking. All have ashtrays in them and stink of tobacco. I was shown three. They were all the same. When I pointed out that I had requested a non smoking room their answer was 'no-one has smoked in your room for the last ten days'. They are breaching the UK trades and descriptions act by claiming that they offer non smoking rooms. They don't. Every floor stinks of smoke and your clients need to be told this before they book.

Review 108：The personel wasn't very friendly. The breakfast wasn't very good. It is a buffet so you can take everything yourself. This is ok, but the personel who were present didn't even say hello when you entered the room.The coffee and the orange juice were horrible. You can eat outside on the terras but when finished it takes ages for the tabels to be cleaned which isn't very pleseant. Reijka is a very busy town with a lot of trafic where (free) parking place isn't easy to find.

Review 118：The staff were wonderful - from the front desk to the restaurant and those who cleaned our room, everyone was helpful and went out of their way for us. We used the spare blankets in the closet as extra pillow bolsters for reading in bed. The staff who cleaned our room noticed this and without asking, extra pillows were on our bed when it was remade. This is just one of many ways in which the staff care and went out of their way to be fo assistnace.
Review 119：The Hotel Continental was situated in a great location handy to the trains and buses. The centre of town was a 5 min walk. The staff were very friendly and obliging . The rooms were of a reasonable size as was the bathroom. Would stay there again.
