Reviews for Grand Sunset Gili Air
Review 1:It's a bit of a walk (maybe 15 mins) to the more populated side of the island if you want to try somewhere else for dinner or snorkel & If walking at night I would suggest you take a torch! The staff are good and attentive but at points it felt a little invasive when asked the same questions repeatedly or approached by groups of staff who were hanging out together. We were there at a quiet time though so they didn't have much to do which might be the reason!
Review 2:Having a pool is great given the shallow and coraly sea on this side of the island. The outdoor bathrooms are really nice and bedrooms good with AC. The restaurant and bar is great and affiliation with the diving school handy.
Review 3:Not so keen on the loose stones in the bathroom, maybe an idea to set them in cement and our bathroom was obviously missing the mirror and soap holder room could do with a bit of character but we still enjoyed our stay Thanks
Review 4:staff were excellent, location gorgeous, pool was stunning
Review 5:The staff was really friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here. The nearby restaurant Scratch was incredible! Best service and food we had on Gili Air. Also the nearby Diving School Gili Air Divers was outstanding with its amazing diving instructors and staff. The Pool, the Location the outside bathroom, there's nothing to complain about. The hotel is also located a bit away from the loud but if you're looking for a relaxed place to stay. You'll be right here!
Review 6:The complimentary water glasses were not sealed water bottles. I found bugs in one of them which has left me nervous I swallowed some. We bought our own water bottles.
Review 7:The staff were absolutely lovely. The food was amazing. I loved the included breakfasts. The movie channel on the room TV was also a nice surprise on rest time.
Review 8:Hot water only lasted about 3 minutes in the shower but the weather was so warm it didn't really matter.
Review 9:Beautiful, understated property. Wonderful staff. Everyone said snorkling was better on the other side of the island but I went right out in front of the resort and saw 2 sea turtles! It was perfect and much less crowded. Beautiful sunsets!
Review 10:Not really a swimming beach. Internet was bad particularly in room My room was called partial sea view but you couldn't see from room. The restaurant was more expensive than most other places on island but food didn't reflect cost.
Review 11:Felt welcoming. View out to the water. Airconditioning.
Review 12:It's made very obvious that the hotel is reducing the use of plastic bottles (a great initiative). However A LOT of plastic straws are still used, in every single drink. A similar hotel on Gili Meno has a no straw policy, or throughout the islands now use bamboo straws
Review 13:Great pool and the staff try hard (one member of staff, I think it was Dede(?), tries very hard, he's still got some learning to do but he's one of the best we've seen in SE Asia and could definitely lead the rest of the team and get them up to his standard).
Review 14:One noisy couple whilst there but that can happen anywhere. Loose stones on bathroom floor could be an issue and slippery.
Review 15:Food was excellent. Location was away from the hustle and bustle but you could either walk it or hire a pony and cart for around $AU10. Diving centre on site and good eateries and bars within walking distance.
Review 16:- Too expensive for what you get... Better hotels for better price on the east side of the island, where you also get better beach and snorkeling... - Pool dirty (green water)... - Loud music all day long... We chose Gili Air because it was suppose to be more relax... - Dark room and no insonorisation at all.
Review 17:- Can do good snorkeling in front of the hotel at high tide. - Drinking water dispenser for the clients :) !!!!!!
Review 18:Ok, so it's on the wrong side of the island for the "main strip" but definitely the right side for breath taking sunsets. And the 20min stroll across the island isn't exactly a hardship and if it is ......you should stick to Kuta!
Review 19:Staff were very good in all aspects. Scratch restaurant had a great menu Dive shop on site Great pool Clean and modern
Review 20:Although we enjoyed our stay here the room was a little disappointing - dark amd uninviting but we only slept there so didnt bother us too much. We had a couple of issues but the staff handle them well.
Review 21:Very pleased we chose Grand Sunset and after walking around the island would say this is one of the better hotels. We enjoyed the location, the setting, also the food was amazing. Great value for money.
Review 22:Very poor & basic rooms that you would expect for $20 not $80 a night. Bathrooms were dirty, linen was old & grey, difficult to get towels. Beds were the worst we've slept on in Indonesia, very uncomfortable. Way Over priced. Can't recommend.
Review 23:Staff were lovely, great restaurant with consistently good meals. Nice pool.
Review 24:Beautiful place on the beach, really friendly and fun bar staff, and swings as bar stools - also the pool was lovely, and the location is perfect... We loved it here!!
Review 25:Food and drink is more expensive than neighbouring restaurants; however, you get a view, good quality and service with a smile.
Review 26:The common area is great with a great view of the sunset. Fantastic restaurant, clean facilities, nice pool and pool bar and pool table. Outdoor bathroom attached to the room is nice, room is simple but very clean. Dive school on the site was great!
Review 27:The rooms were very noisy. You can hear everything from the neighbors. Matresses are as hard as a wooden board.
Review 28:Friendliest staff ever!!! The restaurant and the view from the pool makes the place. Everything is new. Did I mention the restaurant?
Review 29:The hotel is situated on the other side of the island from the main strip of restaurants/ shops. Some lovely restaurants close by however it's a 20 min walk to the other side (some dark roads but felt safe).
Review 30:Beach location is lovely and restaurant was great. Pool was nice and big.
Review 31:There is not a lot of choice for breakfast, alsp you can choose for lombk coffee (no filter coffee) or pay extra for regular coffee... the location of the hotel is around 1.5 km from the 'center'. This is easy when you rent a bike.
Review 32:Swimming pool.
Review 33:On the opposite end of the island from most of the action and costs 100k to get there by horse and cart. It only costs 40k to get from island to island by comparison! No laundry service or bikes available.
Review 34:It's the perfect relaxing getaway, nice poolside area, beautiful restaurant with good food by the sea front, and attentive staff. We also got food poisoning on our first night (not from GS restaurant!) and the staff were very helpful. They fixed us toast, bananas and hot water at 10pm in the evening and offered to get a doctor.
Review 35:Just didn't like the big stones to walk on in the bath room - I Jarred my foot a couple of times and stubbed my toe a couple of times.Would prefer a solid floor rather than a path of stones with little pebbles around.
Review 36:The staff were super lovely and friendly. The food is excellent and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Great views from wherever you are!
Review 37:The music was playing all day from around ten in the morning untill around ten or eleven at night. When we requested, they turned the volume down and the owner let me know by fb that when they didn't have music, most guests really requested it to be tutned on. So I guess it's kind of a personal preference, but for us music in the evening would me more then enough. May be it's also possible to turn down the music in the specific areas that are adjacent to the rooms. Also the partial seaview mentioned in the booking was not really there.. (but it's no problem because you won't be sitting in your room when you can sit at the beach!!)
Review 38:It's very clean! Very good restaurant, nice bathroom (you can see the palmtrees from the shower), nice pool, and off course.. the best sunset view of the island.
Review 39:There is nothing bad about this place... Truly understanding.
Review 40:A true gem on Gili Air so glad we chose to stay here, away from it all but still had those modern comforts. The perfect place the escape and take in the sea views, enjoy the sun and the beautiful sunsets. The island is easy to explore and more great beaches are close by where you feel like you have your own little piece of paradise.
Review 41:Wifi was hit and miss and didn't work in the room
Review 42:Amazing service and food at the restaurant. The best we could find on the island. Delicious fresh juice made to order at breakfast. Nice pool with swim up bar and view. Free power converter in room and as much free water as you want is a really nice touch. Served out of a big water cooler to reduce waste which is very smart. Owner is Canadian! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay again!
Review 43:location is quite apart from other hotel or venues, walk or horse trolley is essential when you have big, heavy bags. (and don't rent bike with narrow tires, road nearby resort is full of sand.)
Review 44:Great location to watch sunset while you are having dinner. Sometimes you will have shower with salty water but it is common on everywhere in Gili.
Review 45:Minor issues getting access to beach towels. Beer never cold enough, but standard across the island. Probably 15% over priced. None of these should put you off though.
Review 46:Although on the other side of the island a beautiful spot on a quiet beach front location. Very clean, sensational food, friendly staff, comfortable room, good A/C, nice pool. Definitely recommend for couples or small groups. Would stay there again in a heart beat
Review 47:The dive shop staff were not helpful in advising us what our options were to freedive, unless we wanted to join their training, which we did not. Except for a lovely frenchman whose name we did not get. He was great.
Review 48:The location was great. We loved being able to snorkel off the beach. Our usual waiter Dedy was excellent.
Review 49:Where to begin - 1. Bathroom door was ill-fitted so that there is a visible gap on top for mosquitoes to enter and gets jammed on the bottom; 2. Insulation was thin enough for us to hear the club music from the bar at night (not so great when we chose the hotel for its remoteness); 3. Food prices are 2-3 times more than the prices on the other side of the island; 4. The towel rack was all rusted and stained my fiance's swimsuit; 5. Housekeeping comprised of only fixing the bed (no maintenance of the room, emptying of the trash, replacing the toilet paper, or towel service even after repeated requests); 6. The a/c unit was directed at the head of the bed so we woke up with a headache every morning; 7. Runs out of hot water at night.
Review 50:The smiling staff made the best of the situation. The hotel also seemed to operate in harmony with its neighbors with referrals to its nearby neighbors for most of what we wanted (i.e. laundry, bike rental, massage). The view of the sunset was also really nice. Great amenities... if we were expecting to stay in a hostel.
Review 51:Room was very basic, small closet, lack of safe. Pricy (but very good) restaurant.
Review 52:Great views, nice bathroom, pool, a/c working well and quiet, really a small paradise
Review 53:Restaurant was poor and always out of stock of almost everything. Staff were poorly trained and spoke little English. Our room was not available when we arrived and they tried to put us in another hotel which was very basi .
Review 54:In a good quiet spot with easy access to dive school
Review 55:Room was very basic. No tea/coffee facilities, no room service, no bin, no amenities. As mentioned before, food was tasty, but unfortunately we got a horrible sickness bug. We didn't eat anywhere but the hotel! Also heard our neighbours throwing up a couple of nights.
Review 56:Great location. Great sunset. Food was tasty, but see negatives below. Staff were friendly, and did everything they could for you at the bar/restaurant.
Review 57:No bad experiences, however the wi-fi was really slow.
Review 58:The location was perfect to watch the sunset and it was so nice to be a little bit away from the main bar/restaurant strip. It felt like we could escape to our own oasis after the days activities. The tide is quite low in the afternoon so it was good to have a clean pool to come home to as well. The food and drinks are great, and the staff were so friendly (shout out to Dedy!), we loved our time at Grand Sunset and can't wait to come back!
Review 59:The rooms were just concrete blocks. The outside bathrooms were inconvenient and provided no privacy. You could hear everything that the guests were doing in the adjoining bathrooms. The beds were very uncomfortable. There were no fridges in the rooms, and unlike all other hotels we have stayed at in Bali at similar or lower prices, no water was provided.
Review 60:The staff were friendly and attentive, and the pool and location were nice.
Review 61:Being locked out of my room, the electronic key didn't work, let staff member, know who was able to let me in, but problem was not fixed, it happened again, then found it happened to the other members in my party, then while sitting in the chair outside watched as other rooms seemed to have the same problem. No small refrigerator in the room, no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, no chair in the room. Pitifully small amount of butter with toast in the morning. Not one time during our stay (5 nights) when we had breakfast or a meal did everybody in the party get hat they ordered
Review 62:location and pool
Review 63:The rooms were quite simple but worth their price!
Review 64:Definitely the best place on Gili Air, the most modern and complete in terms of facilities. Awesome pool and beach location.
Review 65:Staff were so friendly - really loved our little girl and went out of way to make special meals for her. The pool was great, fantastic location right on the beach and next to dive centre. Food at "Scratch" was fantastic - best fish I have had in a long time.
Review 66:One night we returned to our room to find some brown marks on the bed sheets, which we were told were gecko droppings. However, as soon as we informed the staff the sheets were changed and the whole room cleaned immediately.
Review 67:They have a fantastic bar and restaurant, along with plenty of sun loungers and bean bags for sunbathing. The sun sets on this side of the island so prepare for some great views. They also had swings at the bar which I though was a nice touch.
Review 68:Breakfast - what you get there is the smallest portions we have seen in this area. It is served to the table, the choice is only four different types. On the first day we tried a dinner there, but due to small portions we used to go to another restaurant (better food, lower prices). Internet connection is very poor.
Review 69:Quiet location
Review 70:There wasn't anything bad about our experience.
Review 71:A perfect location on a quiet part of the island. The pool looking out onto the water was incredible. A great spot for lazing away a day. We loved sitting on the deck eating breakfast watching the sun rise.
Review 72:The room is not really decorated and a bit small with only one window (but you don't spend a lot of time inside), you could expect more for this price. Breakfast menu is somewhat complicated to understand but overall very good
Review 73:Remote location on a quiet and beautiful beach Very friendly staff speaking good English Beautiful pool near the beach Nice hang out area on the beach Very comfy bed
Review 74:The service at the restaurant was a bit sketchy at times-having to wait a while etc but I think this will get better as it has only just opened.
Review 75:Really lives up to it's name. Best place to watch the sunsets, with the scratch bar/restaurant offering some reaaly nice food and drinks whilst playing some good chilled music-you don't ever have to move really! Also you have to try subwing
Review 76:Staff was friendly but very unorganized. Drinks at the bar were poor and overprized (mojito without sugar & limes). Everything is presented very nice and high class (pictures, website, menu...) but the service you get for what you pay is actually pretty poor. after reading all the great reviews we were disapointed..
Review 77:Nice bathroom Nice breakfast Nice location
Review 78:Do check your bar tab at the end as we were about to be charged for two meals and two drinks that we didn't order... The bar on one evening was closed at 10pm so we were refused a drink when we came back from dinner for a pre-bed drink which was a little sad I know a little pedantic but some staff wore uniforms and some didn't.. Unsure why this was the case but made it hard to tell was working and who wasn't, would look more professional of everyone was in uniform
Review 79:Lovely clean comfortable rooms (especially the bed) with really lovely outdoor shower rooms. Complex is pretty and modern with a clean and refreshing deep pool that the attached dive school allowed us to have a free try of the diving breathing apparatus - good advertising technique but fun for us too. Beachside bar and restaurant I think must be very new... A good menu if a little pricier than elsewhere on the menu, We had the tacos for lunch one day and were left hungry by the small portion but with an empty wallet to accompany! The same goes for the cocktails, I think similarly to everywhere else in Indonesia cocktail game needs to be improved. The staff were extremely willing to help but as I believe they must have been just finding their feet sometimes they were a little unsure of the workings of the restaurant and bar. Due to some ongoing construction we were offered a free day trip shuttle to gili meno which was a lovely touch. Location to the north west of the island is lovely and quiet with better beaches with swimmable seas compared to the east side Overall, this hotel is up there with the best on gili air but a little but more work to be done
Review 80:No kettle in room No coffee and tea facilitys Breakfast was ok but should be more choice now the restsurant is open. As this is a new hotel with some starting problems, these are minor things.
Review 81:The pool The sunset The quiet location Best beds ever! Very friendly Staff! Thanks for the nice time we had an good luck!
Review 82:Overpriced. Hotel is still in under construction - it was loud and unable to test in quiet on the pool. There is no hotel restaurant (still under construction), we had to walk to near restaurant to get the breakfast - which was very small. Staff was speaking English only in a minimum way. Localisation is not good if you want to do snorkeling or swimning. This part of island is good only for watching sunset
Review 83:Room itself was clean and nice but other things in hotel was not good so I do not reccomend this place. Overpriced hotel.
Review 84:Unfortunately, the price for this property does not reflect what is on offer. I have stayed before in azazil and paid less than half the price and was offered more including free bicycle usage, snorkeling equipment rental and drinking water. Yes, that's right, not once was drinking water avaliable. Not even for purchase. I had to walk to the nearby bungalows to buy drinking water since their galon was always empty. Also, during the power cut there was no water for washing as it's all pumped. They do not have a storage tank. This meant no shower after a day in the sea. Finally the WiFi is very poor, but this is an island wide issue. Overall, disappointing for the price.
Review 85:The location next to the beach is great, the air conditioning was cool and strong and the room was mostly clean with a daily turn down. The free shuttle boat is also great, we used it to go to gili meno for the day at no charge.
Review 86:The supposed building was meant to be finished by 25th may 2015(as quoted by the manager on another revue) and we arrived 26th but looked like it had only just begun. However we would come back next year as once the restaurant is done it will be the best spot on the island. The rooms do need a safe!!
Review 87:The location was beautiful and will be the best spot once building works finishes.
Review 88:Currently the restaurant is under construction (June 2015). The noise is not that intrusive as most guests explore the island during the day. Once this is complete the hotel will be perfect. Until then the free breakfast at the restaurante next door is mediocre and we only had it once on our 4 nights.
Review 89:Outdoor bathroom, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Location is great for those who want the quiet side of the island. Offered free transfer to the other Gili islands as a substitute for current construction. In the email prior to arrival they also offered snorkeling trips but this wasn't offered once there. But the convenience of catching the boat to the other gilis from the beach was great.
Review 90:As the restaurant was still under costruction there was not really a place to sit outside except at the pool.
Review 91:It's a nice small hotel with a lovely infinity pool facing the ocean.
Review 92:Breakfast was a single toast or a pancake, served in a neighboring restaurant.
Review 93:Location. It is absolutely gorgeous. The owner, Morgan. The fact that the owner threw everyone a beach party with IDR 200,000 bar credit.
Review 94:The breakfast was at the neighbour hotel and they were only friendly to their own guests. There were no decoration at all in the rooms, TV didn't work. We were informed that only the resturant was beeing build but infact the entire hotel was under construction.
Review 95:Next door to a diving school with discount if you stayed at the hotel. Since the hotel is under construction we were compensated with free snorkeling trip to Gili Meno (rent the equipment yourself) and one night the owner invited all the guests for drinks. The hotel will be great once finished.
Review 96:Room could do with more amenities, no bin, no proper wardrobe, TV not functionning. Not big a deal but you expect a bit more for the price. The staff went out of their way though to accomodate us which is greatly appreciated.
Review 97:Staff were very friendly, great location as you're on opposite side of harbour, but close to cool not so pricy cafes. Loved the pool, loved the bathroom.
Review 98:The good restaurants are a 20 minute walk away. The sea view is only in theory. There is construction that's a little noisy, but the hotel compensates largely by offering a free trip by boat to the island of choice.
Review 99:There's a nice pool, good cocktails, extremely friendly staff.
Review 100:Very bad location.. Far away from all restaurants, bars a nice beaches.. After one day we deciswt to move to place which was close to centre. Totaly bad breakfast!!! They do't have own restaurant so you have to go to another 1* restaurant with very bad quality!!! They are making a new building in front of hotel so during all day there are a lot of workers and they are doung big noise and all time look up guest. No privacy. Big noise from laundry room during sleeping
Review 101:I like just very nice pool with oversea view.
Review 102:No DVD player which is a bit of a bummer in a storm!
Review 103:Good pool, right on the beach, rooms basic but comfortable, breakfast tasty, plenty of cute bars with good food. Check out the Mexican restaurant which does great food and amazing cocktails. Snorkelling great straight off the beach.
Review 104:Didn't enjoy the beach. Not particularly Grand Sunset's beach but Gili Air beach in general. Lots of seaweed and not very clean or well kept. Saw lots of trash along the shore. Stayed 3 days and did not swim once in the ocean, a first for me! Luckily they have a great pool...
Review 105:Good value for the price! If you're looking for a basic, clean and decent room on the more quite side of the island with an amazing pool and sunset view, you won't be disappointed. Don't expect a 5 star though, it's not. Staff very accommodating and nice.
Review 106:30 minutes walk from the harbor or pricy horse carriage, missing paved road
Review 107:friendly staff, quiet area, clean facilities, own generator works fine in case of electricity outages
Review 108:The breakfasts were not worth eating and the restaurant selection on that side was not very good. The room sadly needed more areas to hang clothes and towels to dry (only one towel bar in bathroom and single bar on moveable stand).noisy because of constant construction. The lack of a restaurant as well as the cocktails and beer were on the high side compared to other establishments. Noisy rave bar nearby no sleep at all one night, music didn't stop until sunrise where the rooster next door carried on for a couple more hrs.
Review 109:It was new and clean. The view was good, that side of the island was great for walks and sunsets. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The pool was great for cooling down if you didn't want to go back in the ocean. Owners seemed to care about there guests.
Review 110:The location is kind of bad if you want to live close to the harbor, where the most restaurants and shops are, but the restaurants nearby the hotel are good and cheap.
Review 111:The hotel lays nearby Gili Air Divers which we highly recommend and a restaurant where the service sometimes might be slow but the staff is great and open! The Wifi is fast and can be used all over the facilities. The pool is great and has a view over the beach - which is not the greatest beach, but beautiful.
Review 112:TV and wifi reception poor Construction ongoing during our stay ( as everywhere in Bali during the rainy season)
Review 113:Kindly staff Open air bathroom is special and nicely designed Rooms are very clean Comfortable sunbeds at pool with seaview Gili air divers club just across
Review 114:only stayed 1 night instead of two because I could here everything of my neighbors. The houses are very noisy so I wanted to stay in paradise without neighbors and moved to another place for my next two nights
Review 115:Service is good, did my wash, Internet is working, pool is beautiful and breakfast at the neighbors but could be better. Not a good breakfast. Little choice and sweet coffee.
Review 116:The room was small and drab. There was no outdoor area, just an overgrown grassy walkway to look out onto. No privacy. The outdoor shower and toilet had no net to stop mosquitoes so luckily there weren't too many.
Review 117:The location was great - right on the beach. The pool was nice and was the best feature of this resort.
Review 118:Internet is poor (( but it's not only in this hotel , it's in all hotels there, actually it was not problem to me that electricity cut off for last 1 minute , ^^
Review 119:Location is great, restaurants are the beach are so nice and price as well , staff are so friendly , toilet outside is a perfect idea , ^^ pool is awesome , actually is nice hotel even it's still under building , breakfast is nice as well , high recommention for those who are looking for relax and romantic time ^^
Review 120:-room is quite steril, no place to hang up clothes, no chair, no safe, no decoration -had to pay on top for paying with visa, wish we had known that before -there could be more cushions for the chairs at the beach/pool -the breakfast was delicious but small (you get to chose one meal and one drink)
Review 121:-good location -chairs at the beach and in the pool area -nice cheap restaurants around the hotel, right at the beach -the bathroom outside is amazing!
Review 122:It's looks they rush to finish this resort, so sometimes you can see cracks on the walls and broken hooks in their lovely bathrooms ..
Review 123:The last resort on the north side of the island . Very chilled . Accommodation brand new- sometimes missing the last touch but that's ok. Very clean . Cleaning service every day + new towels. Super comfi bed!! They have an amazing pool there with ocean view- stunning . Quite place away from crowd , few restaurants and bars minutes walk with lovely shelters. Love Gili and def will be back . Grand sunset is really good and easy place to stay and relax . For Gili standard outstanding ! ;)
Review 124:A bit hot in the room if aircon is not on,even wit a fan ( not a problem for me, but could be for others)
Review 125:The pool The cleanliness The outdoor washroom in your room The friendly and helpful staff
Review 126:Nothing, we loved our stay. Thank you so much!
Review 127:Cleanest place that you will find on Gili air! Total bargain! If you are looking for a quiet piece of beach this is perfect or even just to relax by the pool. We loved how everyone was incredibly friendly. Only open 2 months ago and they should be really happy with what they have created. Room was lovely, cleaned regularly and they also had a little notice in the room on how to help them sustain their environment and recycle as best you can. Such as providing a refill bottle water service which even makes it a lot cheaper for yourselves. We did stay on the opposite side of the beach which has so many electricity cuts which lasted whole days but there was no electricity cuts in grand sunset at all. Highly recommend!!
Review 128:First of all the receptionist photocopied my passport and forgot to give it back. When I went looking for it 10 minutes after he didn't remember me and couldn't find it. He finally did. The room in General was very average. There were no lamps, there were ants in the bed, the bathroom was outside so when it rained you got wet. There were constant blackouts and the hotel didn't have it's own generator so we would be so hot at night when she air con turned off. The walls were so we were woken by other guests in the middle of the night. They didn't have enough deckchairs or bikes to cater to the number of guests. Over all I didn't enjoy staying here, the management needs to look at providing more quality
Review 129:The location was good and the pool was nice. Gili air itself is beautiful
Review 130:Credit card did not work on Gili Air! Had to use cash to pay for hotel stay.
Review 131:Local bar served good food at a reasonable price. Staff and locals were very friendly and helpful.
Review 132:Small rooms, thin bed, small window, no mosquito net, no bikes truly available. Bathroom looks nice, but its not workable; shower is fitted and water goes along to wall.
Review 133:Nothing. Harsh environment.
Review 134:-if your in the back of the resort, you're probably going to wake up at around 4am because of either the rooster(s) or the muezzin of the mosk that are nearby. there can also be animals you don't want to meet (if close to the backyard). try to get a room near the entrance. -shower/water doesn't work when power blackout (happens quite often on whole island) -wifi a bit slow, and after not using it for a while you need to log in again. but at least stable and everywhere -only 10 deckchairs next to pool (which is sometimes not enough) -too thin walls between rooms, you hear your neighbours very well
Review 135:-basic but modern room with international tv and ac -very good shower -very nice swimming pool with sea view -good and very reasonable food in restaurant right next to resort -most beautiful and least crowded part of the island -calm (during day..) -friendly and relaying staff -room is cleaned every day -there's snorkeling gear you can borrow for free
Review 136:The air conditioner blows directly the cool air into your face when you are sleeping, so that you really feel cold at night.
Review 137:A very quiet and nice place. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean. The pool area is perfect to relax and its just a few steps to the beach.
Review 138:TV wasn't working, but they said they were having a problem with the provider. It was supposed to have hot water, but it was hot just for one/two minutes and then it was cold.
Review 139:Outside bathroom was really nice. Comfortable room. Breakfast. Have nice options of restaurants nearby.
Review 140:I was disappointed with the lack of environmental commitment. it would be nice to put specific containers for plastic, paper and glass, also it would be good to see a sort of message in the room about the wise use of water (for showers, linen, towels)...since we know that is a scarce and precious resource in the island. Finally we craved chairs or a shady private terrace; these would be ideal.
Review 141:New and nice hotel, amazing location but the best is the staff! Super nice and friendly people. Everything worked perfectly (electricity, water, etc...).
Review 142:The place is very nice but needs some improvements. The rooms are a bit "naked", the wifi connection is quite slow when there are few people connected and the price is probably 20% higher than what it should be.
Review 143:We are a young couple from Perth who spent a few days in the Gili Air. The Gran Sunset is been a great accommodation and its staff is one of the best ever. They are always very helpful! Morgan, the owner, is been very nice with us specially when we asked him to extend our permanency without having booked in advance.
Review 144:only one room key per room no sitting area out side of your room. swiming pool beds are not enough for guests. there is bed on the beach but no umbrella. VERY THIN WALL between the room. all normal tones coversations can hear from next room ! very basic room which is fine. but at least nice to provide bottled water, cos no shop around.
Review 145:nice staff good snorkeling just one step out of hotel. very quite area, a lot of nature. rental bike good pressure of fresh water shower clearn bath room and comfortable bed. making bed for us everyday.
Review 146:It was a great location, as you can snorkel in front of the hotel. You can see phenomenal sunsets. The hotel was very clean. I liked that it was a new hotel. Staff was very kind. There is a place to build a bonfire on the beach. Great memories. While it is small, it was perfect for our family. They provided extra mattresses for our kids. The restaurant on the beach was great.....very rustic, but great views and huts....would definitely stay there again.
