Reviews for Húsavík Cape Hotel

Review 1:The breakfast was ok, but there wasn't much variety. For one morning only it would be fine.

Review 2:The staff were lovely and the room was spacious and comfortable.

Review 3:Tiny shower room, too close to the harbor and therefore smells of fish. Strong smell of sulphur in the bathroom water.

Review 4:Good location, nice clean room. 10 minute walk from the harbor, whale watching centers. Nice reading room with free hot chocolate, coffee etc.

Review 5:The front desk attendant gave us great ideas on local things to see including a light house, horses, and a hot-pot. We recommend all three. Our room had a spectacular view of the harbor and breakfast was filling. (Free coffee and cocoa are available whenever you wish and many eating options are within driving distance.

Review 6:The WiFi was really slow at times. There were also a bunch of flies in our room.

Review 7:Great staff and very spacious, comfortable room with a nice view of the bay.

Review 8:Something about the operation felt stingy: paper towels in the bathroom as a substitute for hand towels; no phone in the room; food at breakfast felt like it was rationed.

Review 9:The staff were unusually friendly and very helpful.

Review 10:The water had a strong smell of bad eggs (as in many places, but here it was rather intense), and the rooms are quite expensive even for Iceland.

Review 11:Excellent breakfast and a very nice room with private bathroom. Everybody was very nice and helpful.

Review 12:The hotel was overbooked, hence we were shifted to an apartment in a nearby house. This apartment is not so nice, it has no Internet, no tv, windows covered with thick dust... everything was old. Last day we were shifted back to the hotel. The room in the hotel was simple, but new and clean. The receptionist on the second day was friendly and gave us good hints for things to do. Upon comaint at the check- out we got 15% off of the days in the apartment.

Review 13:Hotel has relatively new facilities.

Review 14:The tap water possibly had high levels of sulphur; thus had a terrible smell of rotten egg (not the hotel's fault) The pillows were too thin

Review 15:Nice location, close to the harbour Reasonable breakfast

Review 16:I liked everything about this place.

Review 17:The warm welcome from the very helpful receptionist lad, the good sized clean room with a comfy bed, the view and an excellent spread at breakfast.

Review 18:Breakfast very poor and dreadful pillows. They have seen better days. Decor very unusual with a mix of styles. Done on the cheap i think.

Review 19:Very clean and our room had a nice view

Review 20:You can open just one window in the room and not fully. Rest are just glass. It was enough now, in September, but it might be hot in summer.

Review 21:We arrived very late, just before midnight. The reception was open and we were greeted by a very friendly, young male receptionist who provided us with all necessary information. Our room was spacious and very clean overlooking the bay. Tea/coffee in the room. Excellent breakfast. Comfy beds. Very good location and a lovely place overall!

Review 22:Rather basic hotel, shabby reception.

Review 23:Our room was on the upper floor and had a nice view to sea and harbor. Not all the rooms have this advantage.

Review 24:none

Review 25:staff, bay view room, heater, location. No kettle provided but the dinning room offers drinks 24hrs.

Review 26:Great location and facilities. We loved the library in the dining room!

Review 27:Nothing.

Review 28:Big bedroom, good facilities (free milk and orange juice at any time), friendly staff, very good location ( 5min from city centre)

Review 29:Rather small room with broken window, dark, gloomy breakfast room. Location not great. Altogether not good value for money as quite expensive

Review 30:Breakfast poor

Review 31:Location Booked at short notice

Review 32:This was a great hotel

Review 33:great view, good breakfast, clean and comfortable

Review 34:No bad experiences.

Review 35:Small, confortable, friendly.

Review 36:Location to town, view over the bay.

Review 37:Location, service, lovely room overlooking the harbour.

Review 38:Nothing to dislike

Review 39:Wonderful location and we had a huge room overlooking the harbour, very airy and comfortable. No restaurant for evening meal but recommended to local fish restaurant which was really good. Breakfast excellent.

Review 40:Walls are really thin and it was quite noisy in the hotel. The breakfast was very stressful as there were not enough seats for all guests and the waitress removed our full glasses and coffee mugs when we just went for some toast. This was one of the most expensive places we stayed and although the rooms were nice we felt that they were not worth the money.

Review 41:I personally liked that we had a bathtub which can be heaven after a long and cold day of sightseeing/hiking.

Review 42:This hotel don't have good relation between price and quality. It is very expensive for its facilities because they are very simples, without details like a shampoo, no hand towel or bathmat. It is unconfortable.

Review 43:The location was just perfect, the staff inj the hotel really kind and the breakfast excellent.

Review 44:The family room is by the road

Review 45:bunker beds,helpful staff

Review 46:The pillows supplied were soft but more were given upon request

Review 47:It was clean
