Reviews for Rachel Hotel

Review 1:Angelika and Yani are perfect hosts, whom make you feel like at home instantly. Hotel is well equipped and have a nice sea views. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to escape, especially off the season - you feel like in your own little paradise.

Review 2:Bathroom a bit too small.

Review 3:Very helpful, warm and welcoming hosts (the owners). Nice hotel, beautiful view, good breakfast. Clean and pleasant rooms with balconies from where one can see or hear the sea. I had a fantastic stay, felt like home.

Review 4:This Hotel has to be staffed by the friendliest and most helpful people on the whole of Aegina. Felt unbelievably welcomed and really enjoyed my stay.

Review 5:The rooms were a little small and the bathroom extremely small.

Review 6:The location was fantastic very close to the beach. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 7:The bathroom is small. (Can only be a problem if you are bigger than the average-otherwise fine!)

Review 8:The hotel is close both to the port and the sandy beach. The owner is a welcoming, helpful and lovely man who makes your stay as great as possible!

Review 9:The bed was very creaky - it didn't bother me that much but it might bother the neighbors.

Review 10:The owners of the hotel were extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast was amazing! Close to the beach and the shops. Excellent value for budget price.

Review 11:The hotel could do with some modernising in particular the bathroom but for the price we paid we didnt expect 5star luxury !

Review 12:The location was beautiful right near the beach and lovely greek restaurants and bars. The hosts were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you.

Review 13:Hosts Iannis and Angelica were very friendly and helpful to us. The location is excellent - only a few metres from the beach, and everything in Agia Marina is within a couple of minutes' walk.

Review 14:Excellent location, the staff are extremely friendly, they make you feel welcomed from the first day till the time you leave, it's best suited for a group of friends or a family with older children but I didn't complain, overall a very nice experience

Review 15:For the price we paid, I have no complaints.

Review 16:Rachel Hotel is at a great location near to the beach. The hotel provided beach mats and umbrellas free of charge which was very convenient. I also picked up some neat sunglasses from the hotel shop at a reasonable price. The owners were very accommodating and made sure that we were taken care of.

Review 17:overall old and outdated furniture, short bed (tall guys will understand), awful bathroom - it needs renovation badly. In this bathroom floor was always wet :( breakfast represents cold cuts - nothing outstanding. But worst of all - loud cafes around, traditional Greek music until 5 am won't let you sleep

Review 18:nice location - sea & beach are in 5 minutes walking distance. Parking spot, English speaking personnel, wi-fi

Review 19:The beds were a little stiff, but still comfortable. The Internet is really slow.

Review 20:The staff is wonderful. The room is great with good amenities. The view of he beach is amazing.

Review 21:Nothing - no complaints

Review 22:Actually when I booked this hotel, I thought it was located in Agenia town but found it was actually Agia Marina but that was a BIG plus for making that mistake - enjoyed it immensely and I intend to return again in 2016

Review 23:Yannis even went so far as to getting us a full refund back on a ferry when we decided to take the boat that is on that side of the island instead of the one we'd booked and paid for--he was on the phone with the ferry lines and called in a favor from a taxi driver. And he gave us a ride up to the temple in his car, and made sure we new the short cut for the pleasant walk down hill back. What a sweetheart!

Review 24:-if you have noisy neighbours you will hear quite a lot as noise insulation is poor. Luckily it was only a problem for the first night -room was dated and basic but it's a budget hotel so you get what you pay for -While the beach itself is nice the village of agea marina is quite run down & not particularly scenic or pretty, and there's not much to do apart from the beach

Review 25:-friendly and helpful owners -very good value -good location just off the beach -nice balcony with sea view -decent breakfast

Review 26:Great overall offer.the bathroom is very small.only one person is fitting in.The doors are slamming but that will be solved as per my request to the owner.

Review 27:Everything was perfect:)

Review 28:This is the place to stay on Aegina! Lovely family-run hotel. Excellent location next to the beach. Wonderful hosts, exceptionally helpful. Great value for money.

Review 29:The owner made us feel like home. Helped us not only with an advice on what to see on the island, but also drove us to the temple, and at the end gave us a lift. Great breakfast. Clean room. The area is cramped with hotels next to each other, nevertheless we had a nice seaview.

Review 30:From arriving to leaving yannis was very friendly and always there to help when needed. He showed us to our room and then returned with 2 small ouzos and a small bowl of crisps.

Review 31:The room is of a good size for single occupancy, and has a great balcony if you are facing the sea. The bathroom is quite small and basic, but clean. Wifi was excellent. The owners are very friendly and relaxed; they gave me a lift to the temple, booked taxis as required, and provided useful information on the island and connections to Athens. I'd happily stay here again.

Review 32:Perfect location, 15 metres from the beach. The owner was very genuine and friendly and went above and beyond what he needed to do to help us, on more than one occasion. Really good value for money. Would definitely return.

Review 33:A great place to stay - the hosts are wonderful and very helpful. Great location by beach and with tavernas and supermarket nearby. The host saved us a long climb by kindly taking us up to the amazing Temple of Aphaia, which was much appreciated. Overall highly recommended.

Review 34:I arrived few hours before the check-in time however I was allowed to enter my room without paying extra. Later the owner kept my lugguage during all the day after I've checked out and allowed to change my clothes in a vacant room. He also gave me several usefull advices regarding the ferry. These things were not big deal for him but made my vacation much more comfortable.

Review 35:Needed my earplugs during night to mute the sound of the AC, ours and the nabours made a muffle sound together. During daytime no. problem, then it mixes With the daily sound in a village.

Review 36:The flexibility of the owner, so serviceminded! Near to everything, the harbour and the Alexandros Ferry, restaurant, shops, ATM, pharmacy, beach. Nice With a balcony space. That had a clothesline, very practical. The room was including a anti mosquito plug, very greatful for that service! Appreciate that the room had fridge, water cattle, hair dryer, several wall sockets charging our devices. Really good Wifi all over the hotel. AC was very effective.

Review 37:Nothing.

Review 38:The service here from Yannis and his wife is outstanding. They are so helpful and the hotel is kept very clean. Comfy beds, hairdryer, iron, fridge and aircon make up for the dated decor. This is a great hotel and great value, and we would stay here again. Lovely breakfasts too, continental style. We would normally book into a 2 star hotel, but did because of the reviews, we are glad we did, loved the area and the local restaurants with tables literally on the beach.

Review 39:I can't honestly think of anything that we didn't like.

Review 40:For a 2 star hotel it had more to offer than some 3 or 4 star. Each room had wi-fi, kettle, iron, ironing board, fridge, A/C, bug plug (just take your own tabs), direct dial phone, Ianis and Angelica on call, should you require it 24/7. A massive balcony, even a washing line and pegs to hang your swimming clothes/towels to dry. Ianis even took us to see the local Temple ruins and picked us up an hour later, for free. The breakfast had more than enough to offer to suit all tastes. It is only 40 yards from a safe beach and yards from the nearest shops and restaurants.

Review 41:The 3 persons room is more then small, the room wasn t clean only change our towels and drop garbage. When we arrive with a 3 years and 1 years childs old the owner kept us to pay first instead of taking to the room, even if outside was 35 degrees!!

Review 42:The position is excelent, two steps away from an clean and warm sea. The owner give us many discounts and corectly informed us about the prices and services.

Review 43:The room was very small, the bathroom was tiny. Plus, everyone on thecomments kept saying about the free umbrellas that they offer, but theyare not in a good condition.

Review 44:We enjoyed the location, as it is close to everything. Breakfast wassatisfactory. Fresh towels every day, very clean room.

Review 45:Location, helpful staff and keeping the same solid level of services for many years, regardless economic situation and sometimes lack of tourists in Greece

Review 46:There is nothing to not like! I will return.

Review 47:Yannis the owner was very friendly and personable. Everything was perfect. You can borrow beach mats and umbrellas to save renting them also.

Review 48:Lovely hotel on a quiet Island with some amazing sights. I didn't expect much but I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff at the hotel can't do enough to help you, the location is great & having a fridge, a hairdryer, an iron & board in the room are great added touches. Home from home.

Review 49:Very nice owners, very good breakfast, perfect pozition of the hotel close to beach, perfect vacantion. RECOMMENDED. I will come back againt to Rachel Hotel.

Review 54:The owners where really friendly and liked to chat with the guests.

Review 55:Helpful staff, great location very near the beach.

Review 56:Staff very kind, very good breakfast and great price.

Review 58:almost all - excellent location, staff, breakfast and free wifi

Review 59:Mr Iannis and his wife were very helpful. In my first day, he showed me every little detail in advance. They are always ready to help you.

Review 60:The owners Yanni and Angelica made us feel at home. From all the advice to the welcome glasses of ozone. Very close to the beach and docks.

Review 61:The nearby beachbar was noicy (bass was very loud, wich you can hear in our matresses)

Review 62:Friendly and helpfull staff.

Review 70:The location was incredible, hosts were super friendly/ helpful. Rooms so clean and gorgeous balconies. What a gem!

Review 71:Excellent location, great staff. Fun was had by all. Loved the quaintness of Agia Marina.

Review 72:Every where very clean, Good wifi Excellent breakfast Good location near beach, shops and restaurants. Quiet at night ( sept )

Review 73:quiet small bathroom

Review 74:close to the beach very friendly staff

Review 75:need renovation

Review 76:Nice location, lovely owners, value for money

Review 77:Ianis and Angelica were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is ideally located 2 mind from the beach. Plenty of very good restaurants all around.

Review 78:The owner was very nice. The hotel was literally 2 min walk from beach. Owner bent over backwards to help us with our needs. Out of the hotels on the island this one looked the most maintained. And was very clean on the inside. Breakfast was your traditional european style. I would recommend this to anyone staying in Agia Marina. I would def stay here again if i ever find myself back on Aegina island.

Review 79:If you are arriving at the main port you will need to get a bus or taxi (approximately 16 euro for the taxi). The hotel is a bit old and needs a refurbishment. The male staff member wasn't as welcoming.

Review 80:The female staff member was very friendly and welcoming and the view was very pretty. Hotel Rachel is also situated on the best part of the island.

Review 81:We liked very much the location (near the sea and not crowded - in May at least), the friendly staff, their care for our comfort and the nice breakfast. Wi-Fi, classic room arrangement. We got a big balcony with chairs and table. Hair dryer, iron and even free umbrellas for the beach available...We felt the place familiar (like at home) and we are planning to go there again to stay longer. There are nice restaurants nearby. This island is very beautiful.

Review 82:Going to Rachel Hotel for the weekend my aim was to have peaceful time away from chaos of Athens at least for two days. The hotel is right on Agia Marina beach near the Barracunda Beach bar where I was spending the whole day. Room was small but adequate. The owners were a couple that was trying to satisfy your needs all the time. From the moment I arrived they welcomed me warmly and they satisfied my request for a room with balcony and sea view. They even offered me a ride to Afaia TEmple. Breakfast was great as you don't expect for the price you pay that it will be so big and ample. It is simply value for money. There is no doubt I am going back next month. Thank you YIannis and Angelliki!!

Review 83:You should now that the bathrooms are really very small, but in relation to the room price still more than acceptable and very clean, too

Review 84:extrem freundlicher und ausgesprochen hilfreicher Chef (many thanks to Yanis who made this stay very wonderful and convenient for us. He gave perfect recommendations and even helped us to visit the Aphaia temple by giving a lift with his car. very clean rooms. highly recommended

Review 85:Staff were amazing and friendly and made our stay so easy, and gave us lots of information. Just a great place to stay. Can't wait to stay here again!!

Review 86:The fact that we could only stay for one night this time round. Everything else was excellent.

Review 87:The friendliest and most welcome staff we have ever encountered greeted us upon arrival and made our stay the most memorable and comfortable we have so far experienced. The room was clean, cosy and had all facilities included, with a wonderful balcony with a view to the sea. The location is excellent, just a few metres from the beach in the centre of town. It is a wonderful place to relax, have fun, and make friends that will welcome you back when you return. As an added bonus the hotel also offers a discount for the high quality and elegant products offered at their shop.

Review 88:A little cold in april night , so you have to use the air conditioned to heat , didn't work to well, small and old bathroom but functional , breakfast not so diverse. It is ok on summer time!

Review 89:Location very close to the beach, near good restaurants, very nice and pleasant hosts ( Angelica and Yanis ) , they struggled to find tickets to our ferryboat, I suppose in summer time it is fabulous time to spend there

Review 90:Little far from the main port and nightlife but this is not necessary a problem cause the island is small
